A/N: I changed the plot in this one. :) (7/15/18) I changed the plot even more lol (7/20/18)

Disclaimer: I don't own OHSHC, but I do own my awesome OC's. They can't take that away from me.

She Loves Them Not

"You are actually kidding me, senpai," Haruhi said, getting out of the car in blatant disbelief. "Why?"

"It has come to my attention that the club members, excluding Shirai, Mori-senpai, and Honey-senpai are extremely out of shape," Kyoya said, fixing his glasses. "So I have arranged for us to try out a new physical therapy and exercise facility that the Ootori Group has developed."

"This reminds me of what happened at the jungle pool," Haruhi muttered, sweatdropping. "How is this a facility?" She gestured to the towering mountains in front of them, with one long winding path that cut through the middle.

"There's a building at the top," Kyoya said, pointing to a slight twinkle near the horizon. "The whole mountain is mechanized, though."

"I still don't understand, why did you kidnap us at 5 in the morning to go to the middle of nowhere?" Kaede climbed out of the car, yawning. She was still in jogging pants and a t-shirt; her usual home wear. "On another note, how'd you wake up, you never wake up before 8 am without being a moody asshole..."

"From a recent survey of our club guests, 95% of them said that they would like to see the hosts become more muscular and fit," Kyoya said, taking out his notebook. "I figured that it would be a good time to both test out this location and fulfill the needs of our guests."

"You didn't answer my second question."

"So basically, you're telling us to try out your new playground," the twins said, getting out of the car. They had markers in their hands.

"That, and the 'getting fit' part."

"I have a feeling this place will be torture," Haruhi said, sitting down on the ground. "By the way, who's gonna wake up the rest of the group?"

The twins and Kyoya looked at Kaede. "Wait, why me?"

"You're the only who can survive dealing with a sleepy Honey-senpai," they said, materializing a shield from nowhere.

"...fine," Kaede sighed, going back to the car.

Tamaki was the first to get out, with a mustache and glasses drawn on in marker. Mori followed, his hair sticking up comically. Then finally, Honey exited, with a cake in his hands.

After explaining the situation to the last three and washing off Tamaki's face, Kyoya continued on with the instructions. "Okay, so this facility has a 3 stage exercise pathway," he gestured to the path in the middle. "They're like obstacles where you're forced to do some type of physical activity. As you walk through the facility, they go from easiest to hardest."

"Okay, so where's breakfast, then?" Kaede asked, her stomach grumbling.

"There's a snack bar at the entrance," Kyoya said, pointing to a hut with sandwiches and water, "the full meal won't given until we reach the top, where the main building is."

"You're kidding me," Kaede scowled, picking up a sandwich. "Well, I better run to the top then."

"Oh yeah, and every stage requires participation and teamwork from the whole group, or else the path doesn't open for the next stage."

"I will actually murder you one day, Ootori, mark my words."

And so the exercise began.

"Stage one: a yoga ball race," Kyoya said, unleashing a shelf of colorful yoga balls to the others.

"Look, Haruhi! This one has a crown handle!" Tamaki excitedly picked a bright yellow ball.

"Hai, hai...," the girl picked a blue one.

They chose their yoga balls, and started bouncing around.

"Oh, this isn't that bad," Kaoru said, jumping up and down with his yoga ball.

"So we just have to race each other with these?" Hikaru asked, bumping into his brother.

"Wait, I thought these were cooperative exercises," Kaede said, squinting her eyes skeptically. "What are we actually racing against?"

"Sharp as ever, Shirai," Kyoya said, gracefully atop a purple ball. He managed to balance himself as he held his black notebook. "We are racing against a river."

As if on cue, the ground beneath them shook, and, before they knew it, a river appeared next to them.

"WHAT?!" the Host Club exclaimed.

"The objective is to float through this river on your yoga ball. While you float through, different obstacles with colored buttons will pop up, and the only time it can be activated is when the corresponding color ball goes in range," Kyoya informed them.

"Wait, what happens if we miss a button, wouldn't we float away too far to get it?" Kaede asked, teetering on her maroon ball.

"You just have to jump off the ball and swim to get the button," Kyoya said, "that is, if you can reach it before it gets more than 3 meters away from the corresponding ball."

"Can you push someone else's button?"

"As long as they're close enough. They'll be glowing if they're activated and ready to push. However," Kyoya said, his glasses glinting, "if the light turns red, the corresponding ball will pop."

"So we'll have to swim instead?" Kaoru asked.

"Why can't we just swim through the whole obstacle?" Haruhi added.

"Because we'll need 5 balls to activate the door to the next stage," Kyoya informed.

"Well, shoot, Ootori, thanks for screwing me over," Kaede said, getting off her ball and throwing her hands in the air. The others looked to her in question. "I can't swim."

"EH?!" the Host Club said in utter disbelief.

"Oh...that's why you never went into the water at the beach," Haruhi realized.

"That's not possible?!" Kaoru said.

"That's surprisingly normal?!" Hikaru exclaimed. She was (for some weird reason) good at everything, so it was weird to think that there was something she couldn't do.

"That's why I prepared a special swimsuit for you," Kyoya's glasses glinted as a swimsuit rack appeared from nowhere. He took out a collared blue swimsuit, with matching blue floaties.

"Ah! That's the one I picked out for Haru-chan!" Honey said, running up to the rack. He took out the swimsuit with a hanger that said Honey. "Ara? I don't get floaties too?"

"Sorry, senpai, Shirai has to use them, as she is, actually unable to swim," Kyoya smirked. Kaede hit him with a yoga ball.

"I can't believe we have to do this," Kaede complained, walking from the changing rooms with Haruhi.

"Weren't you all gungho just a couple minutes ago?" Haruhi asked, tilting her head. "It's a shallow river, I doubt your inability to swim will weigh us down." Kaede sighed.

"Well, no matter," she clenched her fist. "I won't even be touching the water."

And so, the challenge went on, and the Host Club fought with their yoga balls to get through the stage.

By the end, they had 5 balls to unlock the next stage, as Haruhi and Tamaki had passed their buttons and were forced to swim. Kaede, on the other hand, was as good as dry.

"How is that possible?!" Tamaki said, soaking wet and pride injured. He had gotten out only moments into the challenge; his poor king ball popped in mere seconds of starting.

"I didn't need to swim as long as I jumped on and off my yoga ball to push the buttons," Kaede shrugged. She had saved the twins' balls too, as her acrobatic tendencies made up for her inability to swim. "Try again, Ootori," she stuck out a tongue as Kyoya wrote in his notebook.

As they walked up the mountain to the next stage, Kaede repeatedly punched Kyoya's back. "Jerk, jerk, jerk, jerk, jerk..." she chanted, as she hit him with robotic rhythm. They didn't actually hurt, although Kyoya was slightly ticked off by the repetitiveness.

"Kyo-chan isn't using this trip to exploit Kae-chan's weaknesses, is he?" Honey innocently asked. No answer.

"So he is using this trip to exploit Kaede's weaknesses...," the others sweatdropped.

"It's pretty refreshing, though," Haruhi said, pulling away Kaede (who was still punching) from Kyoya (who looked amused but annoyed). "Even Kaede has her own weaknesses."

"Plus, this facility's pretty fun," the twins said, slightly wet from the stage prior.

"Quite honestly, I thought this would be like fighting bears, or something," Hikaru added.

"That's not as bad as swimming, is it?" Kaede raised her eyebrows. "Of course, it matters what type of bear, but it's not as bad as you think." Everyone sweatdropped.

"She has a messed up sense of danger...," they all muttered. Kyoya, who walking in front of everyone, suddenly stopped, making everyone bump into each other in a domino effect.

"Kyoya!" Tamaki cried, tripping on a banana peel as he tried to get up again.

"We're here," Kyoya's glasses glinted as he presented the next stage.

The group found themselves looking at a group of larger trees, with ropes and platforms attached to them.

"The next stage is a test of acrobatics," Kyoya announced. Everyone looked at Kaede.

"Kaede will be fine, right?" Kaoru asked.

"I mean, she's done plenty of weird acrobatic stuff," Hikaru said.

"So this isn't a trip to torture Kaede?" Tamaki frowned, confused.

"Well, that's it's nice and all that Kaede's fine, but, other than her, Mori-senpai, and Honey-senpai, none of us have any acrobatic skills," Haruhi reminded them. The trio looked at the stage in horror.

"Oh, right..."

"The objective is for at least 4 people to finished the course, and press the 4 buttons at the end at the same time," Kyoya informed them. Tamaki put his hand on Kyoya's shoulder.

"Wait, have you been doing these courses with us?" he said, suddenly not recalling Kyoya being with them during the first stage. He fixed his glasses.

"I have been following you all, observing the effectiveness of the facility," Kyoya smirked. The others sweatdropped.

"Remind me, why are we doing this again?" Kyoya opened his mouth to answer, "and I don't give a shit about your 'getting fit' excuse," Kaede glared.

"Well, the building at the top holds great relaxation facilities, including hot springs and spas, plus a high end restaurant waiting to serve us a three course meal," Kyoya said. "It's quite a deal."

The others were slightly impressed, but were mainly convinced by seeing the wistful look on Haruhi's face. "A three course meal, huh...," she mumbled. Something in Tamaki snapped.

"ALRIGHT EVERYONE, LET'S GET THROUGH THIS TOGETHER!" he rallied. "HONEY-SENPAI, MORI-SENPAI, KAEDE, AND I WILL DO THIS STAGE!"

"I don't know if sending Tono is a good idea...," the twins said, unimpressed by his enthusiasm.

"We're talking about the guy who slipped on 13 banana peels on the way here," Hikaru rolled his eyes. Tamaki shrunk in depression.

"Picking on Tamaki-senpai is nice and all, but who's actually gonna be our fourth person?" Haruhi frowned.

"Hikaru," Kaede pointed at the seme twin. "Haruhi's unathletic, Tamaki-senpai's a dud, and you're the manlier twin." They raised their eyebrows.

"I'm offended," Kaoru scoffed.

"I mean, I agree," Haruhi said, shrugging.

"Don't be, Kaoru, quite honestly, I like you more than Hikaru," Kaede waved her hand. "Better to lose him than you."

"Hey!" Hikaru exclaimed.

"So it's settled then?" Kyoya popped in with his notebook. "There's 4 paths ranging from hardest to easiest."

"I'll take the hardest," Honey raised his hand.

"I'll do the one after," Kaede walked to the second path.

"I'll do third," Mori went.

"...fourth," Hikaru grumbled.

"And...start!" Kyoya took out a flare gun out of nowhere and fired in the air. The four started running.

"Wait, how come the lane Honey-senpai went into was green, while Hikaru's was red?" Haruhi said, pointing to the entrances. Kyoya smirked.

"They switched up the lanes," he said.

"WHY DIDN'T YOU CORRECT THEM?" Kaoru exclaimed, taking Kyoya by the collar. He heard a yell that was distinctly his twin's.

"Don't worry, a parachute goes and attaches to them when they fall," Kyoya said, pointing to a white chute in the distance.

Hikaru stumbled out of the trees. "Kyoya-senpai...," he growled. The man in question put his hands up.

"You guys didn't wait for me to point to your lanes," he said innocently.

"Oi, I heard a scream," Kaede materialized from the trees.

"Kaede? Did you fall too?" Tamaki asked, surprised. She laughed.

"Ahaha, that's funny, senpai," she said. "I finished a couple minutes ago and was wondering what was taking so long. The third years are done as well."

The others sweatdropped. What monsters...

"Here, Hikaru, take my lane, it's pretty easy," Kaede pointed. "I'll do yours."

And so they switched.

The sedentary group waited as the 4 went through the course. They found the ground shaking beneath them as the trees were suddenly cleared away. The third years, Kaede, and Hikaru appeared in the open.

"What kind of witchcraft...," Haruhi muttered, watching in disbelief as the landscape changed.

"Alrighty tighty, let's get on with the last stage, Ootori," Kaede stretched her legs and arms.

"That was too easy," Honey frowned, having gotten the easiest lane. "Are we gonna go fight bears now, Kyo-chan?"

"Yeah, Kyo-chan," Kaede said, fired up.

"Not quite bears," Kyoya answered, his glasses glinting.

"Yay!" Kaede said, running around the dojo. Honey and Mori followed.

The others sweatdropped. "So... we're learning how to fight?" Haruhi said, looking around the building. There was a variety of equipment in the huge place, including dummies and boxing bags. The floor was of nice tatami, and Kaede and Honey looked pleased at the environment.

"Specifically, judo," Kyoya said, fixing his glasses.

"Do we get instructors?" Hikaru asked, looking around to find anybody else.

"The Ootori group has hired the best in the world to teach at this facility," the glasses-kun informed them, stepping aside to reveal 4 men, lined up from shortest to tallest. "This is Kaiba Rintaro, a 3 time Olympic gold medalist for Japan," he gestured to a small, brown haired man who looked around 25, "Akamine Mitsunari, one of the commanders of the Ootori group's private police force," he gestured to a well built, muscular man around 30, "Haga Noriaki, served a good half of his life in the Special Forces," it was a lean, older looking man with grayish black hair, "and Yamashiro Tsuginori, a top student from the Haninozuka dojo," he pointed lastly to a tall, young man that looked like he was in college. The 4 bowed politely to the Host Club, then suddenly turned to Honey.

"WE ARE HONORED TO TEACH YOUR FRIENDS, HANINOZUKA-SAMA!" they formally bowed to the martial arts master. The others sweatdropped.

Of course this was gonna happen...

"I am a huge fan of your fighting techniques, Haninozuka-sama," Akamine said, his head still down.

"Observing you and your endeavors got me through my Olympic training, Haninozuka-sama," Kaiba cried.

"When you visited the Special Forces and beat down our commander, I knew I had found my reason for living, Haninozuka-sama," Haga praised.

"I hope you will bless me with a sparring match, Haninozuka-sama!" Yamashiro begged.

"TO HELP GET IN YOUR GOOD GRACES, HANINOZUKA-SAMA, WE OFFER YOU A FINE SELECTION OF CAKES," the four men took out 5 boxes of cakes from "Luxury Confectioneries."

Before Honey could lounge for the cakes, Kyoya cleared his throat. "I'm sorry, Akamine-san, Kaiba-san, Haga-san, and Yamashiro-san, the cakes will have to wait," he smiled a business smile. "That is, if you'd like to spar with Honey-senpai." The four quickly put back the cakes.

"B-b-b-b-but Kyo-chan," Honey pouted with puppy eyes. Kyoya didn't budge.

"I have prepared this certain stage as a precaution in case an emergency like the one we encountered on the beach were ever to happen," he fixed his glasses. "If you want Haruhi to stay safe in the future, senpai, I suggest you wait." Honey's puppy look changed to one of understanding.

"Okay," he said firmly.

"Aw, Kyoya, you worried about our daughter that much?!" Tamaki ran to hug his wife. Before he could hug him, however, Kyoya caught him by the face.

"At any rate, to pass this test, you guys have to reach a point where you can defeat 4 disciples of the Haninozuka dojo," Kyoya said, his glasses glinting yet again. "As the bar has been set fairly low, I will exempt our martial arts masters from the stage."

"WHAT?!"

And so, the training began, with Honey, Kaede, and Mori on the sidelines.

Kaede's stomach growled. "I'm hungry, and I'm bored," she frowned. "The two worst things that could happen to me."

"It's gonna be okay, Cak-Kaede," Honey's stomach growled in harmony. Mori sweatdropped.

Did he just mistake Kaede's name for cake?

"Why don't you spar?" He suggested, before the two could potentially eat him, Kaede out of boredom, and Honey out of a delirious rampage to eat sweets.

"Good idea!" the two raised a thumbs up.

"Outside."

Boom.

The sound of an explosion caught the attention of the Host Club, who were currently training hard with their senseis.

"What was that?" Haruhi wondered, stopping herself mid-throw. "That sounded like an explosion."

They paused their training to look outside. They found Kaede and Honey, dirt on their clothes and body, panting heavily.

"You've been training since last time, Kae-chan," Honey said, with a fierce look on his eyes. "No matter what, I won't let you take my cakes!" He went in for a kick, which Kaede caught.

"I just want the chocolate one, senpai!" she countered, moving to throw him down on the ground. Before she could do so, the senpai jumped away from her, launching shurikens at her.

"This isn't judo anymore," Haruhi said, sweatdropping at the sudden use of shurikens. Hikaru stepped up next to Haruhi to observe the two beasts.

"Okay, wait. How is Kaede able to do so many things?" he questioned.

"And be so good at all of them," Kaoru added. Kyoya fixed his glasses.

"The main thing about Kaede is that she hates being bored," he informed them, looking at his notebook. "Since she was young, she's explored many different things to do, and used her wealth to have her idea of fun. Even now, she optimizes her time to dip into a variety of different things, to prevent from simply being bored."

"Ironic that you say 'dip in,' as she doesn't know how to swim," Hikaru snickered. A rock came out of nowhere and hit him on the head.

"But no matter how amazing Kaede is, how can she be on par with a specialist like Honey-senpai?" Tamaki asked curiously.

"Good question," Kyoya answered, his glasses glinting, "Although she is quite exemplary in many things, martial arts, drawing, and piano are her main specialties. The thing she hates after being bored is letting her loved ones be in danger." He paused, and smiled to himself. However 'cynical' she tried to be, she had always treasured the idea of friends and family.

"It's a draw," Mori-senpai stepped in, as Kaede had a katana to Honey's head and Honey had a knife to her stomach.

"Is that even safe?" Haruhi sweatdropped. Kaede laughed, drawing back her katana.

"Of course, I would never hurt Honey-senpai," she smirked. "Good match, senpai."

"Mhm!" Honey shook her hand cheerfully. He went closer to her ear to whisper to her. "Ano ne, Kae-chan! I heard from Chika-chan that you went to his dojo and trained after the beach incident," he grinned. "You really do love us, Kae-chan!"

After a couple hours of hardcore training with the judo masters (with sandwich breaks in between, of course), the normal group had gotten to a level high enough to try and spar 4 people of the Haninozuka dojo.

"I'm on FIRE!" Tamaki said enthusiastically, doing showboat judo moves, with a princely touch to them.

"Man, this is pretty exhilarating," Kaoru commented, stretching. "How're you doing, Hikaru?" he looked to his twin, who was sweatdropping.

"Haruhi looks like she's about to die," he said, watching as the poor girl dropped to the ground. She was drenched in sweat and tired as hell. Kaede went up to her and put a cold water bottle to her head.

"I hate this...so much...," Haruhi panted, taking the water bottle.

"You remind me of Chiya before I made her exercise with me," Kaede ruffled the smaller girl's hair. "At any rate, I think we'll be able to get to the facility in time for lunch," she said optimistically, as morning had passed at that point. Suddenly, Haruhi sat up.

"That's right, there's food at the end," she said to herself.

And so, the four normals, after four intense matches, had found themselves walking triumphantly to the main facility.

"Man, I didn't know we could get so strong in a matter of hours," Tamaki said, his ego thriving.

"That's what you say now, but wait for tomorrow," Kaoru shuddered.

"We'll all have sore muscles," Hikaru said, stretching.

"You have to keep doing this training for it to be truly effective," Kaede said, matter-of-factly. "Those students you fought were the 4 worst students of the Haninozuka dojo." The four sweatdropped, as defeating them was quite a feat on their part.

"I don't wanna do this again...," Haruhi muttered.

"Now don't be like that, Haruhi," Kyoya said, fixing his glasses. "The situation at the beach added quite a sum to your debt. With this training, you could prevent that in future situations." Haruhi scowled.

"So this trip was also a partial punishment for Haruhi," the twins stated.

"That's right."

"This makes up for everything," Kaede said, gulping down the luxurious food at an alarming rate. She rivaled the speed Honey took when he had cakes in front of him.

"Mmmmm...," Haruhi agreed, her mouth full with fancy tuna. Tamaki cried at the sight of such a satisfied Haruhi.

They sat together at a round table, the hungry hosts guzzling down food at the speed of light. "The acrobatics course was worth it for this food," Hikaru said, chomping down on a steak.

"You know what they say, food tastes best on an empty stomach," Mori quietly stated. Everyone paused for a moment to take in the statement, then continued on eating.

Kaede was the first to finish, as she had eaten a number of sandwiches beforehand. Kyoya finished after. "Kyoya, you said there's spas and stuff around here, right?" He nodded in response, standing up.

"Want me to show you around?"

"Thanks for the swimsuit, Ootori," Kaede said, as they walked the around the facility. "You noticed I wanted it, right?" Kyoya fixed his glasses.

"Well, it's quite a shame that you're lacking in the swimming department," he smirked. Kaede punched his arm. "I see you still haven't fixed your violent tendencies."

"Aish...it really feels like I'm talking to the same little Ootori from 3rd grade," she said, frowning. "Can't even admit when he's done something nice~"

"I could say the same," Kyoya rolled his eyes. "The fact that you can hit and tease the Host Club really shows that you've taken a liking to them," he said. "I'm glad to see that you're opening up to them."

A.N.: In revising this chapter, I wanted to emphasize the fact that Kaede had finally grown attached to the Host Club, after she had tried acting cold to them to test the waters. While I rewrite this story, I want to create Kaede's character as a very violent, clever, tomboyish person, who cares a lot about the people that she loves.

Thanks for reading, and please review!

I really want some feedback on how I can improve this story ^^
