A.N.: I rewrote this entire thing completely. The old version didn't have any purpose and had no development for KaedexKyoya :/
Kaede
"Huh? You mean, there are no afternoon classes today?" Haruhi asked.
"Oh, you didn't know? For these two days, today and tomorrow, the whole school is holding an exposition for the cultural clubs," her guests explained.
"It's great for me, since I'm involved. Serves as a great excuse for running late, you know," I piped in. I was Kaede today, since I was too lazy to change into a boy.
"It's an annual big event we hold," the girls concluded. "Drama clubs and theatre clubs from other schools come to visit."
"Is that right?"
"Haruhi, you need to get more involved. I would say that to Chiya, but she has kendo and judo with the third years," I said, explaining Sachiko's absence as well. She had been more aggressive with realizing her love for Takashi-senpai, ever since she found herself being comfortable friends with the twins. She was slowly getting over her aversion to hot guys, as meeting Kurata-kun showed her that there were people who had it worse. I guess my unconscious neglect did some good.
"Shirai," I felt a tap on my shoulder, jumping in surprise.
"It's Ootori, what a nice surprise," I composed myself. "What do you want?"
"Since you're not doing anything," his glasses glinted, "could you help lead in girls to our club?"
"Eh~Ootori, why don't you do it, you're always just promoting the merch to your guests," I whined. "As far as I can see it, in terms of being a host, you're the most lackluster." I was hit in the head by his notebook. "See, you're always hitting me!" He rolled his eyes and walked away.
"Kyoya-senpai's actually pretty popular with the girls," Haruhi said, sipping her tea.
"Mhm, he may promote merch to us, but he always calls us princesses and smiles really nicely," Haruhi's guests told me. I liked hanging around Haruhi's area, since her guests were the most normal and nice. They were never snobby to me whenever I hung around.
"On the other hand, I never thought he would ever hit a girl," Momoka (one of Haruhi's regulars) said. "You must be quite special, Kaede-san." I was taken aback, looking to the side at Haruhi.
"That's true, and you're rich too," Haruhi nodded, emphasizing the rich.
"I see..."
Third Person
The Next Day...
As the events with the Lobelia Girls Academy unraveled, Sachiko avoided the Host Club, being warned by Kaede to avoid the clutches of girls' love.
"Sachiko-chan, we're leaving!" Kaoru said as him, Hikaru, Haruhi, and Kaede left for the host club. He stopped right in front of the door, pausing. "Are you sure you don't wanna come?"
"Shut up Kaoru, I don't want those girls' hands on Chiya," Kaede scolded, pushing him out the door. "Have fun in kendo!"
Once they had left the classroom, Sachiko went into a pit of depression. A part of her also wished that she could cross dress and host like Kaede and Haruhi, but she looked too feminine for that. Plus, she couldn't do something embarrassing like being a host; she was an athlete, not a performer. On the other hand, she was glad to have mustered up the courage to sign up for the kendo and judo clubs. She was slowly getting used to hot guys, and wanted to challenge herself by diving in headfirst into a club with Mori.
She picked up her things, sighed, and walked to her kendo practice.
"You've picked this up pretty well," her club senpai said, complimenting Sachiko's form. "At this rate, you'll be as good as Morinozuka-san!" Sachiko was taken aback, flustered.
"Hahaha, that's funny, senpai," she shook her head, laughing. "That's overdoing it."
Despite her small figure, Sachiko was fit and athletic; when they were in middle school, Kaede had convinced her to do a number of sports with her, and made her train with her so that Sachiko could be strong and protect herself. Kaede reasoned that if a good-looking guy tried to hurt Sachiko, and she became too shy to do anything, her body should have the reflex to protect her.
"No, you're doing well," Mori appeared next to Sachiko, having dressed out of his kendo uniform and heading to the host club. Sachiko's face immediately went red.
"R-r-r-r-r-r-r-really?" She stuttered. She bowed on a continuous loop. "Th-thank you!" She was met by a pat on the head.
"Takashi!" Honey called from the doorway. "Oh, and Sa-chan!" He went up to Sachiko, who sighed in relief.
I can talk so much easier to Takashi-senpai when Honey-senpai's around, she thought. "Hi, Honey-senpai, are you picking up Takashi-senpai?"
"Mm!" he confirmed, cheerfully. "Sa-chan, wanna come with us?"
"Eh~but Kaede said to avoid the Host Club while Lobelia comes to bother you guys," Sachiko frowned. "She said it's dangerous for a girl to be there."
"That's fine!" Honey grinned. "You won't be the only girl!"
"Ah...so you're all crossdressing," Sachiko said dryly, looking at the costume rack. "What's the point of this?"
The Host Club sat in a circle of couches, lounging around as the twins went to do their makeup.
"We're going to show Haruhi that, with the host club, she can get the best of both worlds!" Tamaki said, standing up grandly.
"Tono, if you move again, we're going to stab you in the eye."
"...it's another dumb plan," Kaede sighed, shrugging. "But this is gonna be extremely interesting, so I don't have any objections."
"I second," Kyoya said, fixing his glasses.
"I wanna see Ootori in a dress, after all."
"Nervous that I'll be prettier than you?"
"Every day I cross dress and I'm handsomer than you."
"Sachiko-chan, we prepared a costume for you too," the twins gestured to the rack, interrupting the K-pair's argument. She tilted her head in confusion.
"What, why?"
"Because," they shrugged. "You're kinda in the host club, after all."
"Yeah, you know that Haruhi's a girl, so that makes you ultra-special," Kaede said.
Sachiko raised her eyebrows in surprise. "Really?"
"Really."
"I LIVED TO SEE THE DAY," Kaede exclaimed, laughing uncontrollably. "ALL OF MY LIFE IS WORTH IT FOR THIS SINGLE MOMENT. OOTORI, OMG STOP IT." Kyoya, in his purple dress, twirled in front of Kaede, who wore boys clothes for the sake of irony.
"Don't call me Ootori, call me Kyoya-nee-sama," he teased, fanning himself.
"STOP, YOU'RE KILLING ME!" Kaede was brought to tears. The whole host club had changed into girls (except Kaede and Mori), having an unnecessary amount of makeup on and princess dresses that made Kaede cry from laughter.
"Sooooo...am I prettier than you?"
"YES, YES, NOW STOP THAT," Kaede howled as Kyoya made more feminine poses. They were interrupted by the sound of the doors opening, revealing the twins in the same get-up as the rest.
"Tada! Presenting...real girl #2!" the twins announced.
Sachiko, red as hell, in doll clothes and actual makeup, appeared. "Mou, Kaoru, Hikaru, I thought you were going to make me crossdress," she muttered. The twins snickered.
"We made her look just like a doll!"
"OMG CHIYA, YOU LOOK SO CUTE!" Kaede ran from Ootori's side to hug Sachiko. "You're so ADORABLE!"
"Sa-chan is so pretty!" Honey said, appearing with Mori, who clapped his cymbals.
"You look good, Sachiko," he made a thumbs up. Sachiko went beet red.
"Eh~Sachiko looks like a fried octopus now~" the twins teased. They were bonked on the heads.
"Okay, places, everyone! The girls will be coming any minute now!"
