Here- With You
Musically Inspired :) very short and simple
Buildings destroyed, rubble surrounding the Justice League, A.R.G.U.S soldiers still standing with them as the deadly battle rages on. Hundred were killed and rising. It seemed like it was a never ending nightmare.
It was all happening so fast. There was no time to stop. They had to keep pushing. Keep fighting. It was almost over.
"Wonder Woman…" she heard a deep, sad voice behind her.
She turned to see Superman carrying 3 children. They weren't hurt but were covered in dust.
"Take them to the shelter."
She looked at him. He was beyond angry.
"I promised to find their parents." With that said he flew off.
The league continued helping victims get to hospitals and shelters. With every threat and battle, it obviously would take a toll on them. As the threats became bigger and deadlier, it was harder to keep the every civilian safe.
Within an hour, Superman went to the shelter reuniting the family. He was relieved but it still wasn't enough from the pain and sadness he felt with others. Without a word he flew off again.
It took days to help clean up the destruction and took weeks to rebuild downtown. Within that time there were press conferences.
The leagues were giving their life to the city…the whole world, but no matter what, there were people against and for the league. It was always how it was going to be.
Superman was obviously a natural leader. Wonder Woman looked at him. She knew he had worries, they all did, but they tried their best to hide it. He had such a serious look on his face.
As he spoke to the people, his words were filled with hope. His voice was strong and confident.
After the conference, again Superman had gone off alone. Wonder Woman began to worry. Something wasn't right.
She flew off going to his apartment but he wasn't there. He was nowhere to be found locally.
"Where are you, Kal?"
She had a quick thought that just maybe.
Diana had arrived at the fortress. She pushed open the large doors.
"Clark?" Diana she called and walked in slowly.
She walked in farther looking around. The silence was deafening.
She stopped abruptly. "Kal…"
He sat on his knees in front of the enormous statues of his Kryptonian parents, Jor-El and Lara.
Diana came closer, kneeling beside him.
His only response was to lift his arms up to her sides, encasing her in them. He holds her close, burrowing his head into the crook of her neck and seeks for the comfort he knows only she can bring him.
"I thought that it would get better. They didn't have to die, Diana."
"I know. But even with all the power we have, we can't prevent everything."
"It seems more are starting to lose trust in us. How can I stand there giving speeches, knowing they won't trust it?"
"You are not one to give up, Kal-El. Don't you dare give up. Don't you dare doubt yourself."
He looked up smiling. He caressed her cheek. "Not when I have you with me."
"Promise me, one thing…don't distance yourself. That's not you."
"Promise."
