They Don't Know

"Do you see her? She gives us regular women such a hard time."
"I heard one man got caught with a life sized doll. Wife left him."
"I heard some women are trying to dress in that slutty costume just to get their men's attention or the attention of any man really."
"Girl, let me find out my man has some type of fetish."
"Hmph, I mean why does she even have to wear that?"
"I don't even know. But it's so unnecessary."
"Whatever. But anyway, I'm not here for her. I don't think anyone is. I'm here to see Superman."
"OMG! He is so hot! I want to meet Green Lantern and Shazam, too."
Superman shook his head and looked at Wonder Woman who had her eye brow raised.
"Diana."
She glanced at him.
"Don't listen to them."
Diana gave him a slight smile. "I'm not."
Kal wanted so bad to grab her hand to hold and squeeze as tight as he could. He wanted even more so to wrap his arms around her holding her close in an embrace and kiss her soft beautiful lush lips.
Diana noticed his hand move slightly to reach for hers but then quickly went behind his back. She smiled wider. "Later tonight."
He smiled and gave her a slight nod.
Superman/Kal-El/Clark Kent and Wonder Woman/Diana of Themyscira/Diana Prince have known each other for 10 years now. Upon first meeting, the attraction and connection was instant. Best friends for 5 and now dating for 3 of those 10 years. They trusted each other more than anyone else they've ever known. Broke down each other's barriers and opened their hearts to each other. They connected on a level no one else could ever reach nor understand.
Many are quick to judge their lives even though they often don't know the whole truth and what's really going on. People don't know who they are in the inside of just them for that matter. So they don't understand Kal nor Diana and don't care to. They rather make rumors, assumptions and no matter how many lives they've saved putting themselves on the line, it was never enough.
Kal and Diana aren't as perfect as people may think. They have flaws, but they try to do the best they can.
People say that they know the truth about them, but in all actuality how could they know? They say that they see what's going on in their life as superheroes, their over all interactions and their personal relationship together, but they really don't know.
"Superman!" A woman from a group of women called.
"Did he hear you?"
"Of course he did, Josie, he has super hearing."
Josie looked up. "Oh my God! He is flying over here! Bridgette, act natural. No dramatics."
"Me? What about-"
"Hello, ladies."
They squealed and giggled. "Hi!"
"Could we get a picture?"
"Sure!" he smiled.
"Say super!"
They squealed again after taking a couple of selfies.
"Thank you so much!"
Superman was about to fly away but Josie stopped him.
"You can save me anytime."
Superman smiled nervously. "Um...right." Superman cleared his throat. "Have a great rest of the day, ladies."
He flew off to look for Wonder Woman. When he spotted her, she was surrounded by a crowd of mostly men.
"So tell me, Wondy, do I have a chance?"
"Would you tie me up?"
"You have some very lovely lovely legs."
Wonder Woman was becoming agitated. Of course this is all the men think about when it comes to her. Barely any respect and she is thought to be nothing more than sex fantasy come true for them. Pigs.
"This is a family friendly event. I would highly advise if you can't say anything appropriate, don't say anything at all."
Wonder Woman turned away from them and flew from the crowd.
"What a bitch."
"Told you that peace and love shit was fake. She carries a sword for god sakes."
"Yeah, apart of me still don't trust these meta 'humans'. Just so weird sometimes. Gives bad vibes."
Superman and Wonder Woman went back to join the rest of the League.
"Well this turned out awkwardly great," Lantern said.
"Dude, were you not paying attention to Wondy almost punching one guy's lights out or all those hot chicks wanting to jump Supes...or even Bats had kids mocking him."
"Like I said awkwardly great. I for one got a few numbers and invited as a special guest at a party."
Flash chuckled. "Yeah, a 5 year old birthday party."
Lantern hit Flash in the back of the head. "Shut up."
Superman touched Wonder Woman's arm.
"Ready to go home?" He whispered.
She smiled and nodded.
Clark and Diana's apartment
The flight home was quiet. They both had a lot of things on their minds.
Landing on their balcony, Clark wrapped his arms around Diana's waist from behind as she unlocked the door. He kissed the side of her neck as they went inside.
Clark kicked the door closed and right then and there, they started stripping off their uniforms. Completely naked, they went to their bedroom heading to the bathroom for a relaxing shower together.
After their shower, and helping each other dry off, Clark wrapped a towel around his waist and kissed Diana's cheek.
"Give me about 10 minutes to check my laptop."
"Ok, Love."
Clark sighed after checking his email and going to his blog site to see the daily comments. As usual the amount of negativity against the Justice League is unreal. After all this time, the foundation of trust still feels like it's been built on thin ice.
It shouldn't get to him. None of it is true. But that doesn't make it hurt any less.
Clark was so into reading the comments he didn't realize Diana was standing behind him. She leaned over his shoulder and closed his laptop. Clark sighed turning in his chair to face her.
"My Love, you told me not to worry and that goes for you, too."
"I was thinking you were right from the beginning. I should open up more about Krypton and-"
Diana shook her head. "No. At that time, I knew it would be a challenge as well to share ways of Themyscira. I did think that more would be willing to communicate and understand. But upon learning that that's not the ways of man's world and it really takes more time and thought, I don't want anything to taint your Kryptonian legacy." Diana took his hand and pulled him up to stand.
"I lived through it growing up. Kids getting judged and bullied. That's why my parents were so cautious when I started developing my powers. If anyone would've found out the real truth, it would've been hell for them. I did think that I could possibly change things as I got older. But with my experience of the government... being treated like a science experiment..."
"They don't need to know the real truth. Not now while everyone is so quick to slander. This shouldn't cause pain but it has. Both emotionally and physically. I don't want that. They don't know the man I love. Superman. Kal-El. Clark Kent. My man. So gentle, kind, and super sexy."
Clark smiled and wrapped his arms around Diana's waist pulled her close for her chest to be against his.
"What did I do to deserve you? You, Diana, are my voice of reason. So intelligent, gorgeous. You are right. They are going to talk, try to put us in a bad light and whatever else, but we won't let it get to us. We won't let this happen. We got this handled together."
He captured her lips in a soft passionate kiss and picked her up bridal style carrying her to their bedroom.
He gently laid her on the bed and got on top of her. Diana wrapped her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist. Clark wasted no time devouring her neck determined to leave his love mark.
He slowly trailed up to her lips kissing her softly again before pulling back staring into her eyes.
"We know who we are together. This very moment is our truth."
Clark nodded. "I love you so much, Diana."
"I love you, too. Kal."
Diana cupped the side of his face and smiled. Clark smiled back and turned his head slightly, kissing the inside of her hand, before kissing her lips again. Diana sighed into the kiss as they were led to their wonders of making love.
