May makes one last check of her belongings before turning to her team. "You guy's sure you aren't coming?" She asks for what must be the upteenth time that morning. With a hopeful expression crossing her face that they will have changed their minds. The combined laughter however, crushes those hopes and leaves her scowling, even as Nolan pats her shoulder.
"Sorry May, there's not a chance in hell that we're going to with you just to sleep on a floor on the off chance you need human shields if Ruby's dad doesn't take well to you." He comments with a grin as she pushes his hand off and huffs.
"Fine. But you're carrying my bag to the hanger." She counters, getting a shrug as he picks it up and the team follows their sniper out of the their room after making sure he has her collapsing cane. She got rid of the crutch as fast as she could after being cleared for it but still had to get something to replace it with.
"Just take it slow May, you've made great progress and the tournament will start shortly after you get back. So we need you as ready for it as you can be. I'll be sending you tactics and ideas we're considering using through your Scroll while you're gone. Look'em over and have fun with your girlfriend." Brawnz states as they move down the path towards the bullhead hangers.
"Yeah, yeah, okay mom. Gonna check to make sure I packed clean panties too?" She snarks back, rolling her eyes and looking ahead until Roy calls out behind her.
"She did, and are you sure your motives are entirely pure, with that lacy black pair?" Roy comments making May whirl around mortified only seeing Roy as far from her bag as he can be grinning back at her. "Got ya, but wait, that reaction was way too serious. Did you really…" He starts before shaking his head and making a face. "Never mind, don't answer. I don't wanna know. It feels like I'm perving on my sister." He says getting a laugh from everyone around as progress is resumed.
May starts to slow down as they near the hangar, getting her cane out and leaning on it lightly as she continues keeping her pace. The small support she takes from it the only thing she allowed herself at this point, something her doctor actually encouraged, now letting her build back up the muscles in her leg by walking as much as she can without it and trying to use it only lightly when she starts feeling the strain. She actually had to ask the doctor to tell her girlfriend personally to keep the adorably concerned younger girl from stressing out about it.
'And even then she get's worried that I'm waiting too long to start using it. At least everyone else has lightened up, I can't blame Little Red for it. She just wants to see me better, after all.' She considers as she walks into the hangar and spots a waiting Bullhead with a pair of girls waiting just for her. Yang and her sister grinning and waving them over. The older one taking May's bag from Nolan and moving it into the ship before Ruby follows inside the ship, giving a grateful May a hand up into it. The three turning to say their final goodbyes to May's team as the hatch closes and May sits down to relax during the short trip across the city and out a short distance to the island of Patch.
"So tell me, what Patch is like?" May asks as the two sisters join her on the seats.
"It's… quiet?" Ruby offers looking to Yang for help explaining in more detail when May gives her an amused look.
"Well… she's not wrong. The town is small. The only decent draw there is Signal Academy. Most of the Island is woodlands and there's plenty of Grimm there, so don't go without your weapon unless you're near town. We live just a little ways outside of town for the privacy but near enough if anything happens. Still, it's a good idea to keep your weapon with you just in case." Yang mentions with a shrug. The town itself was like most small towns, quiet and not very eventful. A small Dust and weapon shop catering the the academy students but not much really happened. A night out for anyone on Patch usually involved a quick trip to Vale.
May shrugs and nods at this, Her exposure to cultures outside of Vacuo and what little she can remember of her nomadic life prior to her father's death being quite limited prior to coming to Vale for the tournament. That being said, she's actually rather excited to have a look at Ruby's home and what sounds like a rather quiet place to relax.
She closes her eye and leans back, feeling the small trembling and shifting of the Bullhead as it soars through the air before a thought occurs to her and her smile widens to a grin as she turns to face Ruby. "You know, after this, my mother will definitely want you to come to Vacuo, right? If only to tease us relentlessly." She comments as Ruby shoots her a wide eyed look. Prompting the sniper and Yang to start laughing.
'Oh yes, that's going to be a lot of fun.'
It doesn't take long for them to land on Patch and after Yang throws the door open, Ruby lets out an adorable squeal of excitement before vanishing in a cloud of petals only for Yang to join her, leaving a smiling May to shoulder her bag opposite her rifle and hop the short distance to the ground without really thinking about it. A mistake she would regret immediately as she feels her leg twing in protest before before refusing to hold under the sudden strain and sending her towards the ground with a startled cry.
She doesn't hit the ground though as a small form appears at her side steadying her until she can get her leg back under her. The concern on Ruby's face sending a spike of guilt through her core as she sighs and pulls out her cane unfolding it and letting it handle her weight as she gives her little girlfriend a grateful smile.
"Why didn't you use the ramp May?" Yang asks, taking May's bag from her shoulder ignoring the small grimace of displeasure from the sniper at having her burden lightened.
"I wasn't thinking about it. Just not used to needing it, I suppose. Still, if the Doc is right I should be fine by the time the tournament starts anyway." May responds before turning her attention to the red caped girl still pressed into her side, a warm smile breaking over her face as blue steel once more comes to meet vibrant silver and seeing the concern in them. "I'm okay Little Red. No harm done, just wasn't prepared for the drop."
"Are you sure? We can sit somewhere for a little bit if you need to?" She offers in return, blushing brightly as May gives her the 'you're being so adorable' look. she starts to look away when May leans in, catching her lips in a soft, lingering kiss.
'By Oum I'm in some real trouble if she stays this cute. I just can resis-' She thinks before her thoughts are interrupted by a loud clearing throat followed by a short sound of surprise from her girlfriend and their kiss being broken. She blinks looking around to see a tall, broad shouldered man with short blonde hair looking at her with a disapproving eye as Yang stands next to him snickering. She glances at Ruby hiding under her hood before back to Yang with an obvious question hanging in the air.
"Hey May, meet our dad." She states, failing miserably at hiding her mirth as the sniper's eye goes wide and she gulps audibly before chuckling nervously.
"H-hello sir."
~YXL~
'Well, this isn't as fun as I thought it would be.' Yang thinks as she walks alongside her father and behind her sister and May. At first, she took no small amount of joy ignoring the awkward air between the three of them sharing stories of their life on the island as they made the trek home. It's the obligation of all older siblings to revel in the discomfort of their dear beloved younger siblings whenever possible to balance out the frustration for having to deal with them on a regular basis.
Now however, the lack of response has gotten to her quite clearly. So she takes it as a small blessing when they arrive home and Ruby takes her girlfriend upstairs to show their guest her room. Before her father can protest though, she taps his shoulder and jerks her head towards the kitchen at the back of the first floor and away from the stairs.
Getting into the kitchen she crosses her arms and turns around lifting her brow. "Okay, what's with the silence? It's upsetting Ruby and making her girlfriend feel unwelcome. After we invited her." Emphasizing the last words. "She was really excited for you to meet May. And now she's worried that it was a bad idea, like she should have kept it to herself and hidden May from you. You might not have liked my boyfriends, but you never gave any of us the silent treatment." Yang comments before lifting herself onto the counter as Taiyang sighs and rubs his face with his hand.
"You told me she had a girlfriend and that she might be coming with you. I thought I was ready for it but… I guess it's just hard for me to see it with her. With you I saw it a long way off, we're way too similar for it to have been any other way." He replies getting a smug little grin at the end that only grows when Yang starts snickering. Eventually though, he shakes his head and returns to the conversation.
"I thought I would be ready for it by the time you got here, but understanding it and seeing it just didn't… I'm an old man who's losing his daughters to the world of love. I know that's not what's really happening, but I'm a father and that's what it feels like. I just had an easier time preparing for it with you than with Ruby. I imagined I had more time with her, being less social than you or I." He explains rubbing his temples in frustration.
Yang pushes off the counter and gives her dad a smile and a shrug. "Well you knew it would happen eventually. If it helps, I made friends with May before they got together and she's not bad for my little sister. I talked to her right after they got together, and as much as May won't say it, that girl is head over heels for Ruby. When I first talked to her after they started dating, she told me not to trust her with Ruby right away but to let her prove herself instead. That told me enough about it to put my fears to rest. I suggest you give them a chance and just… glance away when they start getting too sweet on each other." She offers before heading into the hall toward the stairs grabbing her own bag on her way up towards her room.
She pauses at the cracked door to Ruby's room hearing voices inside along with the sound of Ruby unpacking.
"I really don't understand May, he's normally not like that." Ruby comments letting out an audible huff.
"It's alright, Little Red, I didn't expect him to like me right away and as far as first impressions go, I didn't make the best one. I mean, before I even said hello I was kissing his daughter. But it's okay, I'll just have to work to make up for it." She says as the sounds of packing cease for a moment. "Don't worry, Ruby, I'm not bothered or put off. Yeah it was a little awkward on the walk here, but, we'll get past it together. I'm sure he will come around in time." May assured.
Yang pushes the door open a little further so she can poke her head in a little. Her curious expression turning to a small warm smile as she spots the couple standing in the center of the room in an embrace. Ruby's hands wrapped around her girlfriend's waist under May's jacket while May's hands are clearly visible rubbing Ruby's back through her cloak.
Slowly, Yang backs her head back out and slowly starts heading back towards her room, stopping again when she hears a sigh from behind her. Coming from her dad who apparently had followed her up.
"She's hard to dislike." He comments quietly getting a chuckle from his oldest as she heads for her own room.
"I told you so dad, they're good for each other."

Ruby wakes in her room and shifts under the old but familiar covers before opening her eyes and looking around, basking in the quiet of her room. Drastically different from a morning at Beacon with three other sleeping bodies in the room. While her teammates don't sleep loudly, the sound of calm breathing does tend to permeate the silence. Now in her quiet room, she finds herself missing it.
'Still, being alone this early in the morning does make it a lot less awkward after dreams like that.' She thinks before shaking her head, blushing at the racy dream and getting ready for a run. Her body moving in familiar motions, gathering her night clothes in a hamper along with what she was wearing the previous day. Getting dressed in her running clothes, she carries the hamper down to the laundry room to drop it off before heading for the door outside.
She stops, looking in at the guest room spotting May sleeping soundly. Curious, Ruby slips in and heads over to the bed, smiling down at her sleeping girlfriend. A rare sight seeing her without her hat or the eyepatch covering her eye. Slowly her hand reaches out, moving some of the dusky rose colored hair from her face. Her fingers were light upon the skin but it seemed to be enough to rouse the older sniper as her eyelids flutter open to look back with a bleary gaze.
"Well hello, Little Red, you need something?" May asks a smile breaking over her features leaving Ruby to blush lightly feeling a bit guilty for having woken her girlfriend up.
"No I was just um…" She breaks off thinking it might sound creepy if she admitted she just came in to see May sleeping. When no answer is forthcoming however May rolls her eyes and grabs the shorter girl, dragging her down into the warmth of the bed and covers. Ruby puts up a token resistance before giving up and letting May pull her in, the younger girl laying over top the blankets letting them serve as a barrier should her family peek in and consider something inappropriate is going on. Still, it doesn't take long for Ruby to feel May's breath even out again as she goes still pressing gently against Ruby's back.
'I could get used to this I think.' She ponders before giving a soft sigh and carefully working out of May's grasp before leaving the room, gently closing the door before heading outside and stretching before starting her run.

May wakes again a short time later arms reaching and grabbing for the warm body she had dragged into her bed shortly before she fell asleep again. Finding nothing she opens her eyes and pushes herself into a sitting position before shifting to stand, wincing at the cold floor against her bare feet. Well, cold by comparison to the tempting warmth of the bed behind her.
Nevertheless, she pushes through and stands before fixing her bed and picking up her eyepatch, stretching carefully before rooting through her travel bag for her things grabbing a change of clothing and a towel before heading upstairs to the bathroom she saw the night before. Thankfully it isn't in use and she slips inside. Hitting the hot water on the shower and getting under the spray once it's warmed.
The door opened and, thinking it might be her young girlfriend trying to sneak another peek, she glances over, her eyes meeting the lilac of a sleepy Yang. Their eyes meet for a moment before May shrugs and goes back to her shower, lathering herself as Yang seems to take it in stride walking in and grabbing her toothbrush.
'Almost wish it had been Ruby. That reaction would have been great.' She considers as she lets the water wash away the soapy suds before stepping out onto the little rug, yielding the shower to Yang as she starts to dry off and get dressed. Carrying her dirty clothing downstairs, she drops them off in her room for the moment before making her way to the kitchen, still scrubbing her head with her towel to help dry as she fixes the eyepatch in place.
"Innocent Eye, huh?" Comes an unfamiliar but very masculine voice from inside the kitchen. With her eyes closed as she walked in she hadn't noticed him as he stands at the counter next to the stove, leaning against it and eyeing her with scrutiny. Swallowing her nervous tension from the day before, May takes a deep breath before squaring her shoulders and walking over, eyeing the food he has set out before answering.
"Yes, my mother is the superstitious sort and she wanted me to do it. It doesn't hurt me and it makes her happy, so I started. Now I'm just used to it." She explains tying her hair up in a ponytail before washing her hands and grabbing a pair of eggs before looking at the man. "Scrambled or no?" She asks looking around. It looked like he was going for a traditional breakfast with pancakes, eggs and bacon from what she could see. Nothing too hard, she can help with that.
He blinks for a moment before seeming to notice the eggs in her hand and turning back around to work on the pancakes passing her two more eggs. "One for each of us but you can cook them together. Yang and I are sunny side up." He comments, watching as she grabs a skillet and a few strips of bacon after setting the eggs aside. She starts frying them up when he speaks again. "I thought you were doing the eggs?"
She chuckles at that and taps her head. "Well, I could spray the pan for the eggs first or I can cook the bacon, strain the excess grease and use the same pan for the eggs after. It's not the healthiest but it is tasty and you get to skip a step." She explains, adding a few more strips as the first start to crinkle and shrink. Silence reigns for a few more moments before she hears him groan a bit and move. He's on the side blinded by her eye patch so she's forced to turn her head in order to glance and notice he's looking at her.
"Yes Mr. Xiao Long?" She asks her confidence returning with her conviction. She needed to make a good impression here but also the right one. Her hand lifting the skillet away from the fire to keep the bacon from burning while her attention is elsewhere.
He seems to be considering his words carefully before he just jumps right in. "I don't dislike you. I don't even dislike that you're with one of my daughters. What I dislike is that it's Ruby. She's always been awkward around other people. Trouble making friends and not much in the way of social skills. I was relieved when I heard she made friends at Beacon and more so when Yang and her ended up in the same team. But a girlfriend? It seems like when I turned around she started growing up faster than I'm comfortable with. That's the dad in me talking though. From what Yang has said, and what Ruby's told me in her letters, though, you make her happy. Make sure she stays that way and we won't have a problem." He says and there's a sound from the hall before the man grunts and falls over. Batter and rose petals going everywhere as his youngest tackles him.
May chuckles, just thankful the batter sprayed away from her as she returns to her part of the cooking, trying not to listen in on the father-daughter moment the two seem to be having and just enjoying the sound of her girlfriends cheer. Oh, she had no illusions that Taiyang was okay with their relationship yet. But he was giving her a shot and that's more than she could hope for; considering she expected passive aggression or, more likely, outright hostility considering his hunting background.
Yang came down, lured by the scent of food as Taiyang finally got back up and started to remake the batter. Taking her time to grab the plates he pulled out, May divided up the bacon and eggs when they're done. It doesn't take long for the four of them to assume places around the kitchen, eating the eggs and bacon while waiting for the pancakes to finish.
"So, what's the plan for today? You mentioned there isn't much to do in Patch, but, did you have anything in mind? I guess my workout itself can wait for the evening if there is something." May questions Ruby.
"Well, actually, me and Yang sometimes take a patrol route through the woods to help thin out some of the local Beowolves. I thought we might do it a bit today if you want to come along." Ruby offers. "The extra range support wouldn't hurt." She adds making it clear from the get go she's still not okay with the idea of May fighting so close to a full recovery. Her near spill hopping out of the Bullhead had not helped matters in any way.
'Hard to be irritated at the mother hen attitude when it keeps so much of her attention, and she's so cute when she's being assertive.' It was something May noticed quite quickly when they started practicing together. Outside of a fight when Ruby tried to be assertive it came across as adorable. But in combat, it was like a switch was flipped in the young girl. No glaring or pushiness, just orders and the expectation they will be followed accompanied by the occasional hairbrained idea. May was sure it was the second side that Ozpin noticed when making the young girl her team's leader. 'It was either that or him feeling a need to balance the scales a bit with her being so young. The extra responsibility would likely force her to mature quicker in order to fill the role she was given… no, earned. Ruby wasn't given anything beyond a chance to prove herself.'
All May did in response to the addition was give Ruby a look and a wink that made the little ravenette blush down to her neck and reach for a hood she wasn't wearing, having not yet changed following her run. The motion itself causes May to smirk knowingly, making her girlfriend shiver and look away.
Finishing her food she glances at Taiyang, noticing his attention on Yang at the moment she stands up and brings her plate to the sink. "Well, if we're going hunting, I should get into something a little less casual for it." She says heading for the guest room her hips swaying all the way out of sight.

Teacher's Pet: The Butt of the Matter: A Shipping Interlude
Written by: Crescent Sunrise
Blake came to consciousness slowly, blinking her eyes tentatively she saw she was in a well furbished room. The floor was of hardwood, varnished to a light golden perfection but mostly covered with a decadent carpet of a deep red, almost the shade of blood. She was on a king sized four poster bed, the bedspread was beautiful; a royal purple with black sheets underneath it with a thread count that might even make Weiss Schnee jealous were she aware of the actual number.
She faced toward the foot of the bed with the headboard to her back, across the room was a station, sparsely but well equipped with a tidy set of makeup, with a massive mirror mounted atop it. This allowed her to see herself in her full nakedness, bound and gagged. Her arms were bound together under her chest, hands to her elbows and forearms strapped securely but not uncomfortably. Her legs were bound spread with a crossbar, similarly comfortable as her arms, though, her back had a mild stain from likely sitting in this position for some time. Her mouth was gagged with a red ball gag, once again, bound secure but comfortable.
There was a closed door she could see which led to an in suite bathroom, with a large luxurious tub. She knew this despite not being able to actually see it, because she was familiar with the room.
This was her Mistress's room.
As if brought from her thoughts, the bathroom door swung open to reveal Glynda Goodwitch, her dominant leathers leaving almost nothing to the imagination. Her predatory grin appeared, likely at the sight of Blake's wide open eyes, and confirmed with her words. "Well, hello, pretty kitty. I am so… delighted. That you're awake." She walked towards the bed, only to walk along its side as she trailed a hand from Blake's openly displayed posterior to her uncovered cat ears, giving them an affectionate scratch between them.
Blake blushed heavily with the attention she was being given. The way she was practically worshipped despite being the clear submissive in this situation.
Perhaps Mistress Goodwitch had enjoyed her riding crop being used on her so vigorously?
"Though, sometimes I truly wish that a Faunus could be born with more than one animalistic trait. You would be to die for if you had a beautiful, lithe tail to go along with these adorable ears." Mistress Goodwitch removed her gag, tracing her face adoringly before moved towards the station and reached for one of the drawers. "It's a good thing I decided to get you one then, isn't it?"
Before Blake could form a response though, Mistress Goodwitch began pulling a truly gorgeous artificial cats' tail from the drawer, Blake's breath stopped short though as she realized it was attached to something far less adorable.
At the base of the tail was, by far, the largest plug Blake had ever witnessed. 'Oh my god, that thing is… no way.'
Maybe Mistress didn't enjoy the use of her riding crop then?
Goodwitch grinned at the look of horror on Blake's face. "Oh, dear, don't you fret about this." Hefting the Weapon of Ass Destruction in her hand, "I prepared you thoroughly while you were resting… it'll fit.
Goodwitch approached, spreading a thick lubricant along the—
[CS? What are you doing?]
[Mom! God, haven't you heard of knocking!?]
[CS, why do you have a whole bottle of rum on your computer desk?]
Blake and Goodwitch listened to the abrupt dialogue that permeated the room. Goodwitch holding her weapon of choice, Blake darting between said 'weapon' and the disembodied voices that flowed from nowhere and everywhere.
[CS, are you… typing everything we're saying?]
[Well duh, why wouldn't I?]
[What are you writing any… CS! are writing porn!?]
[No, Mom, its love! Everyone knows that love means she lets you put it in her butt!]
[CS, that is not love, and don't use italics to emphasize my words!]
"She's right CS, love is definitely not putting that in my butt!" Blake said hastily, looking at the huge toy in trepidation.
"But kitten, it has twelve different vibration settings." Goodwitch purred, lovingly caressing the object.
"T-twelve?" Blake gasped.
[That's it. CS, I am not letting this happen.]
[Where are you going?]
[The breaker box!]
[No! Don't do this, it's love!]
"No it isn't!" Blake reiterated as Goodwitch walked with a purpose to get behind Blake on the bed. Blake shifted to no avail as Goodwitch lined up the toy, Blake's eyes widened at the two handed grip the blonde was using. She lifted it like she was going to spear it in in one go. Driving it down—
[Dammit! Mom, come on! It was just getting good!]
[No more fanfiction for you CS! Actually read the books and watch the shows you are writing about!]
[But that's not what it's about Mom!]
[Clearly. Because you are so damn drunk I can't understand how it is you're typing so coherently.]
*The incessant rambles continue for an undetermined amount of time before CS finally gave up on writing the butt stuff.*
