The Paranoid and Homicidal

A Week Later (Saturday)

Lillian threw the phone at the wall in complete anger. She stood in her office back in New York, looking at the busy streets and twinkling lights of the skyline. It had been a week since she helped her daughter with the Dallas situation, and in that month she seen a change in her daughter, a drastic one. She cursed at the insufferable maenad she sent Bon Temps, she knew she made a big mistake and now she had to fix it. She cringed at what she had to do but she needed to stop it. Not only did the maenad threaten her daughter, even though that was Lillian's original intention, but the heir of the throne, Nexie.

Lillian knew she had only one chance of reversing the potential disaster she caused. Picking up her cellphone, she dialed the ten digits and waited for a pick up. Her eyes wandered towards the broken work phone, smashed on the floor and exhaled.

Four Days Earlier (Tuesday)

"Alana, what's that thing?" Diana looked at her roommate and pointed arm. Alana's eyes trailed down to see her forearm, "What the hell?" She pulled up her sleeve to reveal a reddish purplish rash with a weird bite mark in the middle.

"Is it a bug bite?" She looked at her roommate, Alana sighed, "I guess so."

"Does it hurt? Can I feel it?" Julianna appeared from behind Alana. Covering up her bite mark she looked at the young nine year old, "No, it doesn't. Now, finish your breakfast before it gets cold." The young blonde rolled her eyes as she walked towards the kitchen table. Alana and Diana talked in quiet voices about what's been going on in town as Alana poured herself a cup of tea.

"The maenad is getting stronger." Alana said quietly. "How do you know?" Diana was concerned and scared.

"Last time I talked to Sam, Andy and him stumbled upon a town orgy in some field."

Diana was quiet yet, slightly frightened. "People are still running around causing mayhem. What if she comes after us next?"

Alana chuckled and placed a hand on her roommates shoulder, hoping it would reassure and calm her, "We are safe. Trust me."

"Fuck." Alana and Diana turned to see Nexie coming down the stairs to see her hitting her ear. "Nex, watch you language." The authoritative tone came out of Alana's throat, causing Nexie to laugh sadistically.

"Sorry, didn't mean to offend you my liege..." She gave a mocking bow and stopped midway, "Oh wait, that's me." Continuing her bitter laugh she walked past them and entered the kitchen. Diana could tell something was up with Nexie, she had been so remorseful about the whole Dallas thing and now she was at the complete other spectrum of the scale. She stared at her with peaked interest as she groaned at Jules's questions. The two housemates watched as Julianna questioned her about what she meant with the comment she just made to Alana.

Nexie ignored her at first, taking a knife out of the drawer she made her way to the other side of the kitchen retrieve a cantaloupe. On and on, the young girl went and Nexie paid no mind to her. Placing the cantaloupe firmly on the counter she picked up the knife and groaned as she kept talking. Within a matter of seconds she snapped. Halfway through Julianna's one sided conversations about what other creatures are out there, Nexie raised the knife and brought it down hard, "I... don't...know!"

With every word she butchered the fruit , striking it three times until it broke in two. The two housemates stood there appalled at the sight. Nexie chucked the knife in the sink and grabbed her spoon, making her way out of the kitchen, she began muttering to herself.

"Insufferable imp... I know that... I hate them too." Alana watched with shock as her younger cousin ignored them and continued muttering to herself until she was out of sight. Julianna casted her eyes down and turned around mutely.

"I'm going to take her to work with me, I don't know what's going on with Nex, but I don't like it." Diana nodded in agreement with Alana. Alana walked away from the kitchen towards her room; as she walked her mind wondered over to Godric and what he was doing right now. Silently cursing at herself she mentally punished herself for even thinking about him. She was still hurting but she didn't want to sit there and torture herself about what could be. Immediately, she was pulled from her train of thought when Nexie music blared through the door. Groaning from her recent mood changes she walked over and banged on the door, "Turn it down, Nex!"

And like clockwork she was greeted with a bang from the other side of the door, which basically told her to piss off. She walked away, not wanting to deal with Nexie's little episodes and pushed both Godric and Nexie from her mind.

Two days earlier (Thursday)

The sound of a lamp crashing caused Diana to wake up from her sleep. She looked over to her right to see the glowing red lights of her bedside clock, '11:45'.

Getting up in a hurry she slipped on her shoes and ran towards Julianna's room who was clearly a woke the same way Diana had. "Diana? What's going on?" Sighed she walked over towards the little girl's bed, "They're fighting again, aren't they?" She said in a small voice.

Nodding her head, she watched as the little girl laid down on her back and stared at her ceiling. "Try these. It might help." Julianna grabbed the earbuds and smiled though it was too dark for Diana to see. As music played through the earbuds, Diana sat quietly and waited for Julianna to fall asleep once again.

"You are so aggravating! You know that." Alana screamed, "Look at this! You can't do dishes, your socks on the counter. You're a pig."

"Wow! Can't tell if that's you or Lillian talking!"

"You are unbelievably immature, Nexie. I don't know how Eric puts up with you."

"At least he can. Godric walked out when he could.-" Diana could hear them overlapping each other as the spoke not paying attention to one another.

"-All you do is nag and nag-"

"- I don't blame him. You are so controlling and-"

"-No wonder your mother left-"

"You're a big fat bitch. God I hate you." Nexie shouted.

"Good!"

"Fine!"

"What you're not going to clean up the mess you made? Typical!"

Diana could hear a door slam, with silence following en suite. Sighing she knew things had gotten too far. She didn't know what happened but she knew she needed to stop it. Picking up the phone she called the one person who could help.

Present day (Saturday)

"I don't know what's going on. One minute they are best friends and then the next they are threatening to murder each other."

"How did it start?" Goodrich asked quizzically as Pam and Eric listened in.

Diana's eyes shifted around Fangtasia and soon wondered towards a sleeping Julianna. "Alana and Lillian got back and it was okay. It was better than okay. We were good for a week, Julianna got comfortable in the house and Lillian was actually bonding with Alana for the short time she was here. Then, things changed. Nexie became more moody than usual, making snide comments. She would talk to herself and then refused to come out of her room. She would blare music at odd times of the night and Alana and her would fight about it."

She shifted uncomfortably and sighed, "Then Alana started to do the same. She have mood swings and then the comments towards Nexie would start. Next thing I know, she isn't home at all, like she didn't want to be home. She lashed out at her business partner and he demanded that she take the rest of the week off. Then, her and Nexie would go at it when she was home. It started over little things like Nexie not doing dishes or leaving the laundry in the machine too long where it would start to smell then, it escalated to things that happened in Dallas and family matters. It got to the point where Nexie threw a lamp at the wall and next thing I know is they are friends again."

Everyone was silent, "Are you sure they aren't on their period? I hear women go crazy sometimes." Pam drawled out in a bored tone. The young brunette looked up at her, "When women have their monthly they are moody and discomforted. Not, homicidal and paranoid."

"This may very well be something supernatural, father." Eric observed. Nodding Godric sighed, it was a human action but it felt good to do little human things like that. It helped keep his little piece of humanity that he's had for years.

"Is there anything that they do that is odd, Diana?"

She shrugged, "Uh, I don't know. Obviously the aggression is odd. They are paranoid and look over their shoulders because they don't trust one another." She stayed quiet thinking everything over then it clicked, "A few days before they had these raging headaches, I mean they were borderline migraines. And Alana was itchy like crazy, she even had these patches because she scratched so much and she had a rash, like an insect bite. She had no clue where it came from and when I walked in on Nexie in her room changing she had the same thing all over her back and when I asked she got angry."

Godric stood up, "I have to make a call."

The tall blonde gave him a puzzling look, turning his head he faced Diana who stood as well, "I prefer if you stay here until we sort this out."

"Who are you gonna call?" Diana asked looking at Godric as we made his way out of the room. "Someone who knows more about greek history than I. Hopefully I won't regret it."

Eric called for Ginger as Godric walked out of the room and into the office. He closed the door behind him and pulled out his phone, dialing the numbers he never thought he would have to. He started at his child's desk as he listened to the rings. After four he heard the phone pick up, "Hello, Everdeen Fashion. This is Lillian's assistant Janet speaking, how may I help you?"
