Unwanted Visitors
Nexie shuffled in the basement of Fangtasia. Pam had sent her on a quest to look for a cooler as she opened the door to see the magister's group goonies. Usually the young girl would have questioned her but from Pam's look, she hurried. The basement was dark and damp and the clicking of her heels was not helping. Uncovering a latched box she began to rattle it, however it didn't take much time until Pam sped towards her, pulling her away.
"What the hell, Pam?"
"Quiet." The blonde's eyes shifted towards upstairs as the sounds of rummaging and shattering came in an earshot. "I need to call Eric." Pushing her off to the corner to keep her out of sight, she quickly dialed her Maker.
Nexie watched as the vampire spoke sternly in Swedish. She knew a few words but not enough to fully understand.
"What?"
"Eric, we're being raided."
"So? Call the American Vampire league. They'll have their lawyers on it. I'm busy."
"It's not the police, it's the magister."
"I'm coming there now."
"Don't be stupid. Leave while you can. I am going to find a way to get Nexie out of here."
"She is there?"
Pam rushed knowing she would be caught soon. "They are looking for V, Eric. The Queen set us up."
Nexie watched as pam quickly ended the call, shooting her a look as the basement door opened and he began to walk down the steps. "Come out, come out wherever you are." His voice gritted sinisterly. Pam spoke to him as they locked eyes. Her voice seem sweet and airy as his voice was rough and ragged, "Magister! What a pleasant surprise."
"There's nothing pleasant about this," Nexie watched as he grabbed a small vial filled with blood, the one she was told to search for. "This is blasphemy." The small lavender haired girl was still hiding, her eyes widened as she learned that both Pam and Eric were dealing V. Something she would never see them doing, especially with Godric looming. Her head turned to see a small door, where they usually retire when they sleep at the club. Her eyes quickly glanced at the magister and then to the door, knowing she could hide out there until support came.
She slowly stepped back yet had her eyes glued to the magister. She took another step accidentally kicking one of the chains on the floor. The magister quickly glimpsed as Nexie made a run from it, cursing her heels. She didn't make it very far until the magister grabbed her and turned her towards him.
"Take her. Take both of them." Nexie and Pam's eyes met as fear boiled within them. Each one knowing they were screwed.
Oia 847 02, Greece
Godric had arrived at Marina's house, which was only a few paces down from Alana's old home. The sisters purchased their homes near one another as did most families in their tribes did. Cleo and Marina had been neighbors where Alana was one row of houses down with Marina's backyard overlooking her house. The home opted to live by the cliffside cave houses instead of their mother's and family's community set up by the top of the cliff. Godric swiftly knocked seeing the boats that twinkled softly on the water.
He watched a young boy open up the door. His green eyes were hidden behind his shaggy curly brown hair. Godric smiled at the young boy, "Hello, James. Is your mother or aunt home?" The young boy spoke quietly, "Mama said you would come soon."
"Godric?" Marina peered behind the young boy and smiled. "What can I do for you?"
"Is Alana here?"
Exhaling softly, she looked at hime and nodded. "Come in." He slowly passed the threshold and entered, looking around. He followed her to the hallway in the back and then stopped, turning to face him. "There's something you must know before."
Alana slowly rose as Godric opened the door. "I have to call you back Sam." Quickly hanging up the phone, she stared at the man before her like many times she had before. His eyes seemed saddened and hollowed right along side hers.
"What are you doing here?" She spoke softly. He walked towards her causing her to step back.
He stopped walking at the sight of her retraction. "I- Nexie said she saw a vision of you. I had to come see you, Il mio amore. Make sure you're alright."
She looked down at the ground beside her and then slowly back to him. "You play with my heart too much, Godric. One second, you love me then the next you don't and I'm just a supernatural fascination." She turned around and walked towards her window, "Well, now I am no longer "special" so choose your next declaration carefully."
"Ally, you know I would never hurt you."
"Did you come here to ask questions? Or just plead to me, Godric?" She turned around. She was frustrated and angry at everyone but most of all herself. She heard the front door close knowing Marina took the kids out for dinner, in case things got out of hand. For the past week, Alana refused to mention Godric's name so her reaction to his visit seemed like a wild card. He stared at her and she at him.
"I just want you to talk to me."
"I lost my powers Godric. Not because of you or Nexie or even my mother but because I let myself lose sight of what I was meant to do, who I was suppose to be." He looked at her, "and now- I don't even know who I am. So don't question me, don't poke and probe. You wanna help? Then help." She walked up to him kissing him intensely. Quickly he picked her up, wrapping her legs around him. His fangs clicked down as the parted and looked at one another.
"Fuck me." She said quietly. He then continued on, throwing her on the bed. Both of them knew it wasn't out of anything other then pent up anger and comfort. Anger that she couldn't see how he cared for her and anger for losing everything she had. Comfort for his longing for her and comfort for the unknown she was about to dive into.
Raggedly breathing they laid next to one another. Both of their minds we quiet, "You aren't thinking anything." He said softly.
"Because there is nothing to think about." She sat up and began to dress herself as he watched. She was still beautiful and as thrilling as she was when she was a mermaid. He regretted saying she was an experiment but that was something she couldn't move past. She felt his eyes on her as she pulled her shirt over her head. Before she could respond, her phone began to ring.
"It's Diana." She said quietly, hesitating to answer it. Breathing in she clicked the talk button, "Diana?"
"Lana? Is that you?"
"Yeah, what's up?"
"It's Jules. She's coming of age I think."
"What?"
"I-I-I don't know. She woke up screaming a couple of nights ago screaming your name. Talking about the future. And then tonight I found her crying because she tapped into one of her past lives. I don't know what to do and you're away and Nexie is wrapped up in her own world. And Eric knows absolutely nothing-" Diana began to speed through her words, gaining more frantic with each word.
Alana knew how anxious and nervous Diana got in times of crisis. She would overwork herself causing her to practically have a heart attack over the slightest of things. "Diana, relax. I'll try to find something out, just hang in there. Okay?"
"I don't think you get it. I don't need advice, she needs to see someone, Lana. She's going to spiral and I'm the only one here."
"Put her on the first plane out here. We'll talk soon."
Hanging up the phone, she looked at Godric. "I think I need to move back into my old place. Jules is coming and I need to see someone."
Pam's screams filled the air as Nexie was forced to watch. The vampire who held her had a knife to her neck, she refused to move knowing if he even nicked her, the smell of her blood would fill the air and all hell would break loose.
"Let her go!" Eric vamped down the stares and was met with the magister pressing a silver rod to Pam's torso causing her to scream and then to the vampire holding Nexie, slowly lick his lips and restraining himself as much as he could. "I am the one you want."
"I have been framed." Pam's ragged breath seemed like background music.
"Oh," The magister was filled with an emotionless rage, "you've got the wrong man, my dog ate my homework, I saw Goody Osburn with the devil. Excuses, are one thing that I can assure you that don't get better with age. Do you deny that the blood was being sold in your area?" His eyes shifted to the cooler and then back to Eric with a sinful smile.
"Not on my orders." Eric spoke, his voice leveled as Pam and Nexie watched intently.
"Then on who's? Your Queen's?" The magister waited for Eric to respond. Nexie knew he was caught, they all did.
Before the Magister continued, Pam was turned around to face Eric. Her stomach was branded twice with silver, her hands and feet chained to the poles that once entrapped Lafayette. Something no one knew except for Pam, Sookie, Eric and Godric, who was appalled by his child's actions.
"It should be sure description of the Blood or treason against your regent." Eric watched as the magister turned his head towards Pam, "both among them are dire of crime. Not to mention this young specimen over here" His eyes wandered to Nexie who's blood slowly began to dribble down her neck.
She could hear the vampire who held her, fangs click. "Now, now James. Control yourself. Mr. Northman, are you sure there aren't other secrets you are hiding?"
"No secrets of your concern, Magister."
Nexie pressed her body against her captor as the older man drew closer smelling her blood. He knew she wasn't human nor vampire simply by her smell of sweetness and fresh water that seemed to come from her blood. "Hey back up buddy!" She snapped causing no amusement from anyone.
"Jorge Alonso de San Diego, I hear your magister now." Nexie's eyes closed from relief and frustration. Hale stalked passed Eric and towards the magister, fear no where in sight. His deep voice seemed to command the room, something that made Nexie snicker. The magister slowly turned around, "Well, hello Hale. To what do I owe the honor. As you can see," He motioned towards Nexie and Pam, "vampire business is being done."
Smiling he bowed his head and moved his eyes back towards the 500 year old vampire. "Ah yes. I can see. Amazing how even since the inquisition your tactics never change. Not all of them are vampires though, are they?"
"Do you mean the girl?"
"Very much so."
"And what exactly is she?" The magister stalked towards him, with a smile that almost seemed creepy.
"Above your pay grade. Release her or your disobedient vampires won't be of your only concern." Hale and and Jorge seemed to stare at one another for what seemed to be forever. Eric watched as Nexie's new watcher seemed to challenge one of their own.
Taking an unnecessary breath, and nodded.
The Vampire released hold of her causing her to push him and run towards Hale. She glued herself to his side, knowing he was going to rip her a new one later.
"Mind your Elders, Jorge. After all I am 300 years your senior. Do well to remember that the next time you threatened one of my own, little boy." The magister stayed quiet, knowing Hale wouldn't hide behind bluffs. His eyes shifted to Eric, "You however, Northman, have no one to come to your rescue, so tell me"
He pushed his silver rod towards Pam, "Who is at fault here?" He slowly trailed it down her chest stoping in-between her breasts.
Pam screamed and eventually broke into pleads, "It was Bill Compton!"
Eric spoke breathlessly, "It's true. He's-he's gone missing. You've seen yourself how he betrays our kind for personal gain. I believe he is behind this. I am gathering evidence to bring him to you. Now let me finish my work." Eric's eyes left the magister's and lead to his child's. Pam watched as the older man turned away from Eric and stalked towards her, "They say the loss of a child is the deepest of despair."
Pam's eyes shifted to Eric in fear as he continued, "Two days, Mr. Northman, or she dies" uncapping the silver ending of the rod, he exposed the wooden sharpened end, "the true death."
