Amazon
Blu was placing the last couple items into his fanny pack.
"Alright, let's see. Bandages? Check. Eyepatch? Check. Phone? Check. Pocket bombs? Check".
Blu sighed, he still remembered the days before coming to the Amazon, fighting Red Dragons as a hacker with his friends.
Learning how to fight and hack from his master seems like it happened a hundred years in the past.
But he perked up, today was a special day.
Today was the day, he and his family were going to Rio for their summer vacation.
Blu was leaving the tribe in the care of Eduardo while he was gone.
Tiago, Bia and Carla were saying goodbye to their friends (and girlfriend in Tiago's case), while Jewel was waiting.
Blu finally finished packing his stuff, before exiting his hollow.
He saw that Alex and Zain were going to tag along for the ride, relaxing at the foot of his tree.
Blu descended, "Alright guys, ready to go?".
He got a reply in the form of a cheer from his kids, his kids who were almost his own height.
He sighed, pretty soon they'll be getting their own mates and leaving the nest, this will most likely be their last trip to Rio as a family.
Upon hitting the ground, his kids began flying away, along with Zain, Alex and Skyler.
"Alright, let's leave without Blu. Sure, why not?", he whispered in a mocking voice.
He quickly began following them, "hey family, how're we doin'?".
Jewel laughed, "How do you think? We're going to see friends, I'm eccentric!".
Blu smiled, "How about you, kids?".
"UH, dad", whined Tiago, "we're almost adults, stop calling us kids".
Jewel piped up, "Hey, to us you'll always be our little babies".
Bia and Carla did not get involved in the conversation that followed, they both had one question in their minds: Will I ever find true love?
Bia soon took out a book titled, Spells and Magic.
Blu noticed this and slowed down to get next to his daughter, "So, Bia. What are you reading?".
Bia shrugged, "A part on fusion. 2 or more birds fuse together to form a single entity with the combined powers of those he merged with", stated Bia.
Blu just nodded, May wanna try that.
But Carla was still thinking about love.
Bia and Carla had watched as Tiago and Ruby shared kisses and hugs in the past and went on dates.
They wanted that, but no one in the tribe peaked their interests, sadly.
The group continued flying for several hours before they finally found a boat heading for Rio, which they promptly hopped onto.
Alex and Skyler fell asleep in each other's wings, while Blu and Jewel fell asleep together.
Tiago and his siblings fell asleep too, leaving Zain alone.
Zain stared out and into the sky, admiring the stars.
"God, why do you so this to me? First Stacker, then Angelo. Why must you kill those I care for?", murmured the sad lear's macaw.
He turned his head to the sleeping form of Blu, "I promise you my friend. If one of us must fall, it shall be me".
He looked across the river and jungle, noting a dark form flying through the sky.
"What the?", he murmured.
The being almost sensed Zain's presence and flew into the jungle.
Zain shrugged it off and leaned against the wall, before promptly falling asleep.
Morning
Blu woke up first, again.
It seems he is always up first.
"Well, might as well get packing", he murmured before gathering his stuff.
His incessant gathering caused the others to wake up, yawning and stretching.
"Morning guys, " greeted Blu, "How did you sleep?".
"*Yawn* pretty well Blu, how about you?", replied Jewel.
"Pretty well" declared Blu, "Now, let's continue to Rio".
After another 2 hours of flying they arrived to Rio.
The tall, newly reconstructed, Christ the Redeemer statue stood atop Sugarloaf Mountain (That's the actual name of the mountain, honest to god).
The chirping of birds and chatting of people filled their ears as they began to descend to a warehouse.
"Uh, Blu. Why are we going to the warehouse?", asked Jewel.
Blu landed and looked at her, "well, Magnus, Lukhas and Rico said they had something pretty cool to show us. So I thought we'd see that first".
Tiago shrugged, "Seems cool enough".
Almost on cue, a robotic macaw walked out from the warehouse, "Blu, Alex, Zain great to see you", greeted Magnus.
Blu hugged his friend, "Likewise, padre".
Magnus returned the hug then stepped back, "Lukhas and I have been working on something, pretty badass if I do say so myself".
Bia was slightly interested, "What is it, though?".
Magnus looked at the nearly mature macaw, "I'm glad you asked, I'll show you".
Magnus lead the group to a room with 4 glass cases, holding 4 metal bodies.
"Blu, this is project Superion. The pinnacle of transformer technology", stated Lukhas, who now walked up to the group.
Blu and the others were downright amazed, "What does it do?", asked Alex.
"Well, Alex, these 4 bodies can transform into 3 modes, bird, vehicle and limb", stated Magnus, matter of factly.
"Limb mode?", asked Jewel.
"Yes, Magnus, if you please", said Lukhas.
Magnus smiled, before opening the cases.
Lukhas walked over to a computer, "Now, there is no AI that can control these, so we're waiting for 4 birds to donate their brains to run these robots".
"That seems kind of brutal, don't you think", stated Carla.
"Kind of, but it's worth it when you see what these things can do", replied Magnus, "Now, let's get this show on the road".
Lukhas pressed a button, causing the 4 robots to walk out of their cases and stand in a line, "Commencing transformation in 3, 2, 1, now".
2 of the robots transformed into huge legs, which Magnus jumped onto and connected with, one robot flew up and turned into an arm, connecting to Magnus's shoulder, while the last one did the same.
The biological birds watched as the 5 birds merged into a massive robot, "SUPERION, ONLINE!", declared the titan in a monotone voice.
"HOLY SHIT!", screamed Zain, Alex and Blu looked in awe, Bia, Carla and Jewel stepped back slightly, while Tiago shouted, "I'll donate my brain!".
Superion towered over all the other birds, a little bigger than Kaiju Luca was.
Blu and his friends spent several minutes admiring and watching Superion before he transformed and returned to his various modes.
"Magnus, THAT. WAS. SICK", stated Zain, getting a little over excited.
Magnus bowed, "Thank you, thank you. I'll be here all week", he said in a mock tone.
Lukhas walked up, "Now, let's get you guys home. I'll bet you're quite tired from your flight".
This comment received several nods, before an ear splitting explosion rocked the earth.
"What the fuck was that?!" asked Blu, getting increasingly worried.
The group ran outside, to be greeted with a golden armour clad spix macaw and several hundred dark macaws.
"What the hell's going on?", asked Blu, but he received an answer from the mysterious spix, "well, BLU", he spat, "I have come here for something you have, that I want".
In seconds Blu was grabbed by 4 Underlings, who quickly dragged him to the mystery spix.
Jewel and her friends were about to attack, but a group of 5 Underlings stopped them.
Jewel watched as Blu was dragged to the mystery spix, "Ah Blu. I envisioned you being slightly taller in my mind but this'll do for now. But that's besides the point, my name is Nightfly and I have co-", "Nightfly? That sounds like a fanfiction character's name".
Nightfly furrowed his brow and punched Blu's gut, knocking the wind out of our hero.
"Now that you've shut up, I have come for the Eye of Agamoto, and you're going to give it to me".
Blu chuckled, "Bro, I don't know where you're from, but the Eye was destroyed. You're never going to get it".
Blu expected Nightfly to hit him, but the spix smiled, "Oh, I know. But the power flows through your veins, is fused into your muscles, that's the power I want", he held his wing out to Blu.
Blu felt a great pain as a green mist seeped from his beak and eyes, flowing into Nightfly's wing.
Blu screamed as he felt himself grow weaker and weaker by the second.
But he noticed something else, his scars were healing, his beak returning to it's non jade form and his eye regaining it's vision.
After almost 30 seconds of this, the green mist no longer seeped from his body, but Blu was weak, and passed out.
Jewel now attacked, with Lukhas and the rest of the team following.
Tiago split into his alter egos, Bia prepared her telepathy and Lukhas prepped his blue blade.
The Underlings returned the charge, but were sadly outmatched as our heroes cut through them.
Jewel, Magnus, Carla and Bia got caught up with the Underlings, leaving Tiago and Lukhas to deal with Nightfly.
"Oh naive macaws, when will you learn?", Nightfly held out his wing and fired a green energy beam.
The twins dodged he shot, but Lukhas was not so lucky.
The shot impacted Lukhas's chest, flash frying his insides, Lukhas opened his beak to scream, but all that came out was green smoke as he fell to his back and died, a slow and agonizing death.
But he was in heaven now.
Jewel and Alex were working with Skyler, strangling and cutting the heads off of Underlings left and right.
Magnus was using his laser guns to blast the demonic birds into oblivion.
"We gotta help Tiago!", yelled Jewel, "Agreed" replied Alex.
But back with Lukhas's body.
The tiago's watched this before looking at Nightfly, "You'll pay for that!".
But Nightfly laughed at their threats, "you'll make me pay, I'll rip your hearts out".
Aad with speed only seen int Tiago he lunged forward, grabbing the neck of spear Tiago and snapping it without a second thought.
"Remember, I have superior speed-"
He turned and threw the carcass at the other Tiago's who looked as their sibling's lifeless body bounced along the ground.
Nightfly, however, gave no quota.
He lunged again, but the Tiagos dodged the strike and sword Tiago managed to stab Nightfly's chest.
Nightfly should have died, he should have drawn his last breath and fell, but he didn't.
Instead he used his talon to push sword Tiago to the ground.
"Nice job, you earned yourself a quick death", Nightfly then pushed down with all his force, converting Tiago's previously solid chest into a mess of blood, guts and bone.
"-strength-".
Jewel now saw this, "Tiago!", she screamed, but it was too late.
In a matter of seconds Nightfly managed to tear mace Tiago's wing from his chest, before clawing his head from his shoulders.
Bow Tiago tried to shoot Nightfly, but this last one shrugged it off and caught the arrow, "-and reflexes".
Nightfly quickly threw the arrow back to it's sender, the shot lodging itself int Tiago's windpipe.
Tiago made some gurgling sounds before falling down, limp and lifeless.
Blu now woke up, to see the last of his sons die.
"NO!", he screamed before being joined by Alex, "Blu, what do we do?".
Blu put on a face of pure hate, "we kill him".
Blu closed his eyes, "Let's see if this works".
A white light began to glow from his chest, sucking Alex in.
A blast of white energy exploded out, drawing all eyes to Blu and Alex.
Blu looked at Nightfly, but he was no longer blue.
His feathers were the same shade of white as Alex's , his wings were black and red like Alex's winglades but had electricity crackling down them.
He was now Alu, fused between Blu and Alex and sharing their powers.
Nightfly was not afraid, "I don't need to fight you. I have what I want".
A black portal appeared, with Nightfly charging in followed by his Underlings.
"NO!", Alu charged forward to try and stop Nightfly.
But Nightfly chuckled and closed the portal, leaving South America.
Alu quickly calmed and split, before Blu ran over to his dead children.
Jewel was already broken down, sobbing over the loss of her young.
Blu collapsed next to her and joined in the sobbing, his tears hitting the ground with the light pitter patter of rain.
Magnus walked up to Blu, "Blu, there is a way to save Tiago".
Jewel instantly got up, "what is it?! Please, we'll do anything!".
Magnus stated the option simply, "Project Superion".
Ga'Hoole
For the past 3 years, Soren has been leading and helping the tree of Ga'Hoole.
Along with being a father to his 2 daughters, Bell and Blythe.
Tonight he and Otulissa were going to watch the play the school was putting on, Bell and Blythe had lead roles.
Soren and Otulissa were sitting in the front row, no crowns or armor just normal owl looks.
There were no formalities or bows, just acknowledgements at their presence.
The play was about half way done, the true conflict now being shown, when a loud banging sound was heard.
Soren instantly heard the screaming of guardians coming from outside.
"Oh no", he muttered before getting up and running outside, to be met with several Underlings attacking some guardians.
Soren began to glow slightly golden as he activated the strength of Glaux and attacked the Underlings, punching one into oblivion instantly.
"Guardians!", he shouted, "Defend the tree!".
Several more guardians joined the fight, but the Underlings just kept coming.
Soren knew what they were after, the Claw of Alex.
He looked to Twilight, the great gray currently engaged in combat, "Twilight! Stay here. I need to defend the claw!".
Twilight nodded as Soren flew off to defend their infinity stone.
Soren flew into the citadel used to store the stone, only to see Nightfly holding it.
"Hello, Soren", he greeted, "It's an honor to meet the king of Ga'Hoole. No matter how short you'll be around for".
Soren got into a battle stance, "I don't intend on dying today".
Nightfly chuckled before putting the claw of Alex into his talon guard, "Try me".
Nightfly lunged forward, trying to kill Soren, but the barn owl quickly dodged, "It takes a lot more than that to kill me".
Nightfly chuckled, "You mean something like this?", and in mere seconds he had Soren's head in his hand, the barn owl struggling to escape the vice grip on his skull.
"What are you going to do?", asked a struggling Soren.
Nightfly grinend, "Nothing much".
Nightfly closed his eyes as he sent a mix of green and yellow energy into Soren, causing the barn owl to scream in pain.
The energy ebgan cooking him from the inside out, "Goodbye, Soren".
And with that Nightfly crushed the barn owl's skull, turning it to a gooey mess.
Dropping the corpse, Nightfly walked away, "My legions, return to the temple", a small portal opened for him.
Nightfly stepped through the portal, to return home and prepare for the greatest war to ever be waged.
