OH WHATS THAT? SOME REVIEWS?
cutecookielove: Thank you so much! Its so great to be back! Thats exactly how I see Michael as being, the father when their Father sort of backed away from them, stepping into His shoes when He left them in the doorway. I feel like he really does care for his siblings, and in his own sad sort of way, did what he thought was best for them. I feel like when it comes down to disappointing Father or disappointing Michae, they'd want to avoid disappointing Michael, cause he can make you seriously feel like your worst when that happens.
Robin0203: RIGHT! I love it too! Michael being here is the bestest thing ever!
Star: LOL no fluff for him, but for the others, its a done deal!
guestsurprise: Most definitely!
Saphirabrightscale: Right! Thank you! Just another thing that the writers decided to ignore! Like the Nephilim were a whole species before they were wiped out, and by who? Heck, Castiel was part of the group that went after an angel because it was thought he had made a nephilim, and what were they there to do? Um, they were there to kill him, thank you. Michael getting to meet Jack is awesome and I hope they let our Michael meet him too! And who doesnt love the brotherly love! I mean lets be honest though, things can never be what they were, but can't they try to be better? LOL Thank you! I wasn't sure how I wanted it to be, but this, this was the greatest!
charmedfan120: Thank you so much!
Telentropy X: YESSSSS MICHAEL IS HEREEEEE! I feel like him and Gabe had a very special kind of bond back in Heaven, and one can't really forget that sort of thing either, no matter how hard they may try man! And try they did! BUTTTTT YAAAAYYYYYY IM SO HAPPY YOU LIKED IT!
Itstheurgetofall: Daddy Luci is life, lets be honest, LOL!
AN: IM BACK BABBBBYYYSSSS! Prepare yourself for more papa Luci, adorbs Jack, fun uncle Gabe, exasperated Michael, idiotic Cas, and someone meh Winchesters! Cause they're all back baby!
"Kiddo, why don't you give it a try?", was the first thing that came out of Gabriel's mouth when the Nephilim boy entered the room with two pieces of little wrapped nougat in hand. Michael looked over the edge of the book he was reading, watching the pair carefully, before his gaze focused solely on the messenger. Gabriel ignored his imploring gaze and instead gave the little boy his attention. Jack looked up, eyes downtrodden at the lack of candies, and smiled at his uncle.
Gabriel waved him back into the kitchen, "Don't come back until you have more! Remember what I told you", Michael lowered his book slightly as he tilted his head, "Puppy eyes kiddo! Hugs and Puppy eyes!"
Jack giggled and nodded, hand curling around the candies in his hand, as he turned quickly to head back into the kitchen. Michael huffed, marking his page, and tugged the messenger back by the back of his shirt. Gabriel yelped as he fell back, into his brothers side, and smiled up at him innocently when their gazes met, "Hey Mikey!"
"Hello baby brother," he smiled down at his youngest brother inquisitively, "are you teaching our innocent little nephew how to be tricky like you?"
"Who me?" Gabriel shook his head quickly and settled in his brothers side, "Never."
Michael shook his head, pressing a kiss to the side of his brothers temple, and reached for his book again, "You'd better not be."
Jack giggled as he came to stand behind his father, his back turned, Lucifer heard him approach from behind and chuckled softly to himself. He finished washing his plate, rinsed it, and set it on the drying rack with the others. Drying his hands with the dish towel next to him he turned to see what the Nephilim needed, and smiled when he folded himself into his chest, hugging tightly, and pressed his ear to his heart.
"Hi father!"
Lucifer chuckled, wrapping his arms around the young ones waist, "Hello my little one, what can I do for you?", Jack smiled up at him, tilting his head to the side, just as uncle Gabriel had showed him, "Can I please have more nougats?"
Just as he had said, Lucifer swayed slightly, taking on a certain expression. Jack smiled up at him, giggling softly when he pecked at the tip of his nose lightly, "Oh I see. Are you buttering me up to get more candies?"
He took on an innocent air, "No.", Lucifer looked skyward for a moment, "That's good. Seeing as what used to happen to your uncle when he tried such things."
"What?", Gabriel had not told him of any consequences, and he felt a slight echo of fear take hold, turning to look up at his father with wide eyes. Lucifer smiled, peering down again, meeting his young gaze and holding it. Jack tilted his head, fingers curling into his fathers shirt, cause as uncle Gabriel said, 'when in doubt look adorable'.
Lucifer chuckled, "Am I really that soft to you?"
"As a puppy?"
A grin slowly spread its way across Jack's face as his father tilted his head and quirked an eyebrow, "Oh really?"
Jack nodded again, pressing closer to the archangels chest for a moment, Lucifer chuckled and hugged him closer. Little hands reached out sneakily behind him, for the candy bowl that lay on the counter mere inches away, and his fingers curled around the wrapper of a yummy piece of nougat. Pressing a slightly kiss to the top of the Nephilim's soft hair, brushing a hand down the back of the boy's head, fingers brushing down the back of his neck.
He pulled away, curling the nougats into his palm, and he pulled back slightly.
"Thank you, father."
"For what kiddo?"
He held up the nougats, stepping back, out of his parents arms, "For the hug," and he stepped back when Lucifer's eyes widened, "And the nougat."
"Did you…Did you just play me?"
"Like a fiddle."
"You little—"
Jack turned, laughing giddily as his father made chase, turning on his heel and beelining out of the room with his father hot on his heels. They ran into the living room, laughing together, Jack running to stand on the other side of the couch, Lucifer coming to rest on the one side across from him. Smiling when the boy grinned cheekily at him. Michael and Gabriel looked between them, smiling to one another, one cheering one on and the other cheering on the other, it didn't take a genius to know who was cheering on who.
He pointed a finger in warning, "Don't you dare eat those.", Jack smiled at him, holding up the candy in question, "Don't you unwrap it." He narrowed his eyes as he tugged the wrappers off and let them drop to the floor. Lucifer narrowed his eyes and shook his finger, "Jack I'm warning you.", and he pulled it up to his mouth, licking the candies, "Jack don't you do it.", and plopped it into his mouth.
"Ooohohoho, you're pushing a fine line squirt,", Lucifer wagged his finger at the Nephilim boy, "Just you wait until I get my hands on you."
Jack licked his lips and then his fingers, getting all that was left of the nougat candies, and smiled at his father between a munch on his sticky hard candy. Lucifer jumped forward and the Nephilim boy squeaked as he jumped back, trying to run around the couch, the other two moved out of the way as Lucifer jumped onto the couch, his knees pressing into the cushions, and reached over the back for the Nephilim as he ran close. Jack yelped as arms wrapped around his waist and pulled him over the back, onto the couch, half on his fathers lap. He could feel the rough stubble on his chin as he fell back into his chest, arms curling around him securely.
Lucifer chuckled, burying his fingers into the boys lower belly, making him shriek and fold over. He squirmed hard, almost escaping once, sliding downwards only slightly, but he was caught up again and his shirt rode up only just and the archangel shoved his hand under, fingers clawing at the bare skin that poked out. His fingers were warm, cool, but warm, and Jack pressed himself deep into his father's chest to escape his torturous grasp.
Jack shrieked loudly, tugging at his wrists as much as he could, Lucifer shook his head and grinned to himself, "I don't think so squirt, you ate more candies then you should have, we got to work that extra sugar off.", the boy shook his head, leaning back into his fathers shoulder. Lucifer rested his chin on the boys shoulder, itching a few fingers over his waist line, and the boy squirmed slightly in his lap, giggling softly, "I think I can feel the extra candies?", he pinched a little at the lower belly pudge and the boy's giggles went up in volume. He looked down, his chin brushing against his ear, and smiled into the side of his neck as he spoke softly, "Here?", Jack curled his fingers around his fathers wrists, holding on tightly, giggling happily, "And here?"
It was like they were in their own little world, completely wrapped into each other, Lucifer peering down at him, smiling into his neck as Jack tried to tug his hands away. They were good for each other. Gabriel turned to look up at the elder archangel, Michael turned slightly to meet his gaze and smiled at him, "He has his father's smile.", Michael whispered down at him, as if to not disturb the moment before them, Gabriel turned back to see. He did have the Morningstar's smile. He shined when he did, brighter then any day, then every star in the solar system. They shared a lot of similar traits, traits that he hadn't seen in his older brother since long before the first war, it was refreshing to see that it was hereditary, the good qualities that used to shine in his brother.
"He has a lot from him."
Michael hummed, "that he does."
Lucifer finally relented, letting the poor boy go, but Jack didn't move very far. He turned in his fathers shoulder, whispering to him, something they weren't privy to, but Lucifer smiled and nodded, rubbing a thumb over the little hand curled around his left palm.
"Michael?", the elder hummed again and he continued with his question, "Luce is weak. He's not nearly as strong as he was. How did little Jack find him?"
Michael smiled at the pair, "I may have leant a hand in their meeting."
"Really?"
He nodded, finally turning away from their brother and nephew, looking down at the messenger, honestly, he was not as out of tune as everyone apparently thought it was.
"Yes. The boy was curious about who he was, who his family was, and our brother…He needed to know that there was someone who wouldn't judge him based on past mistakes."
"You knew he would take a liking to him?"
"Of course, not messenger. I'm not all knowing."
Gabriel tilted his head as he gazed up at his brother better, "Really?"
He chuckled, rubbing at his cheek, and nodded, "Though you don't believe me.", the messenger hummed at his brother, turning to lean back against his shoulder again. They watched the pair a bit longer, as they whispered to one another, Lucifer kissed his cheek lightly responding to whatever it was the boy had said. The boy struggled to get it out, but he finally managed to piece together an enochain phrase, it was a broken sentence, some sounds jumbled together into an unknown word, but it was enough that it impressed the three of them and that Lucifer seemed to understand what he said. It surprised Michael the first time he'd heard the boy speak in their language, smiling when his younger brother had corrected him gently, and the Nephilim repeated to make sure he got it.
Lucifer rubbed at his cheek softly, "I think it's time for bed kiddo,", he smiled faintly as the boy yawned, soft hair brushing against his chin as he leaned against his shoulder, "You've had an exciting day.", Jack's eyes gave away how exhausted he was, but he still shook his head.
"I'm not tired father."
"Sure, you aren't.", the Morningstar hummed, adjusting his position on the couch, and tugged the boy down only slightly. Pulling him backwards, his legs dangling over his lap, and he fell against his side. "Then don't fall asleep."
"I won't."
"Sure, you won't."
Michael grinned, rubbing at the messengers shoulder, "If he's anything like you little brother, he doesn't stand a chance," Lucifer made a face at him as he rubbed a hand down his arm. Scratching softly at the boys shoulders. Jack huffed, leaning closer, his eyes drooping dangerously. "Remember when I used to do the same thing to you?"
"Mike!"
He chuckled but relented, turning to peer at the messenger for a moment, Gabriel smiled up at him but remained silent, watching the Nephilim child as he slowly drifted off to sleep.
Lucifer smiled, leaning forward, pulling Jack with him as he slipped an arm under his knees and slipped an arm around his shoulders, pushing himself up to his feet. Jack sighed happily, curling into his fathers shoulder as he drifted off into a light slumber. Chuckling he turned to head towards the stairs, pausing as he passed his brothers, "Only because you always knocked me out with your grace."
"Like you haven't done the same with the boy."
He blushed and Michael chuckled, the boy picked the right moment to nod into the archangels neck and mumble, pulling Lucifer from his stupor, smiling he turned back around to kiss his temple again, "I'm gonna get him in bed. Make yourselves at home. Just make sure to turn off the light before you turn in."
They both nodded, watching as he disappeared up the stairs, "Mike?", "Hmmm?", "I think he's doing good."
"I do not like this Sam."
Castiel was not having any issues with expressing his opinions when it came to Lucifer being anywhere near Jack, and how everyone seems to be so alright with the matter, as he had been for the last hour since Lucifer had stepped passed them, not seeing them standing in the shadows of the kitchen doorway, as he carried the Nephilim by up to his room.
Sam had to really resist the urge to roll his eyes at the angel next to him. Castiel was his friend, a close friend, but it was starting to get out of hand. Sam Winchester was no fan of Lucifer, let alone a supporter, but even he would be openly lying if he tried to claim that the archangel hadn't changed since having met his son. They had all been so against it, so worried of their getting together, what Lucifer had truly had in mind when it came to how he wanted his son to be, that they hadn't thought of just how much Jack may have impacted the archangel himself.
"I know you don't", the hunter smiled as they passed, Lucifer murmuring into the boy's ear, watching them as they disappeared around the corner, the ceiling creaked above them as he stepped into the boy's room, "But maybe we should give them a chance. Besides, Jack made his choice, and though I don't like it as much as the next guy, we should respect it."
Castiel gave the hunter a long hard look before waving him off completely.
He had an idea forming and was under the impression that Sam was no longer to be trusted on the matter. No matter though, he was still of right mind, and would ensure that their mistakes would not last.
"He is a boy, he knows not what is best for himself,", Castiel rubbed a hand over the sleeve of his coat as he stepped forward out of the shadows that concealed them, "It is our job to ensure he is led down the right path, whether he desires it or not."
Sam watched him step into the hall, crossing the kitchen in moments, to peer up after him. He felt the hairs on the back of his neck stand on end, as if someone were watching him, and he only just had to turn to see the intense gaze of Michael watching them. He made no movements nor any sounds, but his eyes tracked them with a practiced trained ease, never ceasing his petting through the messenger's hair, and the hunter was quick in following the seraph up the steps under the intensity of the eldest archangel's gaze.
Down, at the end of the hall, was the master bedroom. A faint glow from the cracked door indicated that Lucifer had retreated there for the night, the bedside lamp on, doing whatever it was he did while he was in his room on his own. Across the hall from him, just a little to the right, was another bedroom, slowly filling with knick-knacks, toys, and 'treasures' from adventures, that was Jack's room. There was a soft glow from his room as well, from the lava-lamp night light next to the closet door, they hadn't known that the angel child was afraid of the dark, but Lucifer had, the nightlight had been there when Jack had summoned them here.
He peered in on the boy, a lump curled under the blue quilt that he had claimed on his first night, a stuffed animal clutched in his arms, curled into his pillow as he slept peacefully. It was during these hours that he truly looked as young as he was, and sometimes it was easy to forget just how young he truly was.
On the nightstand sat a book, he couldn't read it personally, but Sam had caught Lucifer and Jack sitting together, on the couch or outside under the trees, close together, reading from it. He assumed the writing was in enochian. Jack seemed to be picking it up rather quickly.
There was a shelf on the other wall, facing the end of the bed, full of other books, records tucked away nicely and on the middle shelf was an old record player.
The wall on the other side, the wall the bed was pushed up against, had a bunch of pictures tacked up, pictures of Jack and Lucifer, there was one of Sam that he hadn't known was taken one morning out in Lucifer's garden, another was of Dean as he enjoyed himself to a piece of the pie that had been made and he bit his lip to keep from laughing out at the whipped cream covering his face, beside that was a picture of Castiel (and Sam frowned at it—he was glaring in the picture—not at the one behind the camera and he only guessed that Lucifer was off in the other side), there was a few of Gabriel, a couple of Michael, and a random puppy, among various other things that must have caught the kid's eye.
On the desk sat the vintage polaroid camera that the pictures had been taken with.
Movement in the darkest corner caught his attention, and his head snapped in the direction, Castiel was creeping across the floor towards the sleeping Nephilim in his bed. Before the hunter could stop him, he was kneeling, shaking the boy's shoulder firmly. They had had their fun but it was time to go, in Castiel's opinion, Jack was too young to decide such things.
It was too late to warn him, Castiel jumped away when the Nephilim turned, woken from his slumber, and gave a startled yell at the sudden movement.
Sam spun as the door on the other end of the hall slammed open, flinching back as the archangel stormed down the hall, blue eyes blazing with anger, Lucifer ignored the hunter as he turned into his son's room. Castiel fumbled for his blade, not expecting such a reaction, trying to prepare for an attack.
Lucifer snagged him by the collar and dragged him out, leaving Sam in the hall and Jack kicking his blankets away in panic, he dragged the angel down the hall and down the stairs. Sam ran after him, the door of the room that had been made up for them was thrown open as Dean rushed into the hall, both hunters taking the steps two at a time, Jack close behind them.
The living room had erupted into chaos, as Lucifer threw the seraph at Michael, the elder caught him before he could go tumbling over and steadied him.
"Get him out of my house."
"Brother-"
"I mean it Michael.", Lucifer's eyes were cold as ice as he glared at the raven-haired angel, pointing at the younger heatedly, "I want him out."
Castiel pulled himself away from the elder archangel, straightening his coat, "I will gladly take my leave.", he looked beyond the enraged Morningstar, "Jack gather your things-"
"Hey!", Lucifer snagged his chin, pulling him around, fingers digging into the flesh sharply, "You will address me in my own home. Don't you dare speak to him. He made his decision and whether you like it or not you will respect it."
"I do not have to obey yo-"
"Know your place Castiel.", Lucifer stood up straighter, his shoulders rolling dangerously, tone deepening with anger. Gabriel was on his feet in an instant, recognizing the tone being used, and he stepped around them carefully, trying to lead the child back upstairs, but Jack was rooted to the spot and refused to budge, "I'm an Archangel. Fallen or not, I will always be one, and you, you will always be a seraph. You will listen and you will listen closely. You will not touch my son. You will not speak to him. You will respect his decision as my son, he is over you, the blood of an archangel runs through him, the grace powers him."
He pulled him closer, "And if you are wise you will take Michael's protection. For I won't offer you any."
Michael shoved the younger away from the seraph, pulling Castiel back by the scruff of his coat, "Go tend to your fledgling brother. He is the only one who can calm your temper it seems."
Jack shoved away from Gabriel's side, scurrying to grab onto the blonde angel's arm, and the anger seemed to drain from him as he peered down at the tired eyes of his child. Lucifer heaved a sigh, curling his arm around the small shoulders, and pointed one last time at the two, "I want him out.", and turned to return them upstairs. Sam stepped aside as they passed, faintly catching Lucifer's mumble of 'sleeping in my room' as the ascended the stairs.
SOOOOO MICHAEL IS STILL HERE! And Sam sort of standing up for Luci and Jack! Ummm has Castiel finally lost his mind? Lucifer has finallyyyyyy demanded Castiel leave? Will he let the Winchesters stay though? Sam at least? What's Michael going to do lol?
