Hey you guys! Really sorry for the long wait, but there are so many things...=( ... Anyway at least I up graded! Here it is guys:
Naruto does not belong to me =(
And that's it. Now onwarth (is that how you write it) to the story:
Kakashi's mission had been like they always were; easy, quick, but tiresome. When he entered his house the first thing he did was sit on his couch. He deeply desired to stay there and sleep all day long, but knew well that that was not allowed.
Remembering his promise he got up to take a shower and prepared for the wedding. He knew that he couldn't go with his Jonin outfit so he took out the only suit he had. The one that used to belong to his father. For all the years of the suit being with him it still looked brand new. This was not due to his great care of the thing, but to the fact that he barely wore it.
After putting the suit on he left his home, glad that he would see the one person that had occupied his thoughts throughout the mission. Unlike before he had noticed that he had begun to be more protective of his old student and even made sure as to ask Gai to keep an eye on her. A favor that he wasn't sure was a good one. Gai was a great friend, but sometimes his way of thinking was not the greatest. He knew, however, that he wasn't the best judge of character.
His thoughts wondered on how Sakura had been doing while he was away. He had hoped that she had opened herself more to the other people, but also wished the contraire. He feared that restoring her to her old self would also involve having the gap they had once before. Kakashi was never a selfish man, but with Sakura his attitude seemed to change.
His mind was full of her and while others would see this as a sign of love, he could only see it as a former teacher aiding his student. This, however, no matter how much he argued it, was inaccurate, for anyone who could hear his thoughts could easily see the man's growing affection for the young rosette. As a smart ninja, the white haired nin wasn't putting the pieces together and it was mainly due to the fact that he wanted to resist the feeling, but how long could he last?
Now, only a few houses away from the Nara estate, Kakashi began walking the rest of the way rather than continuing his leaps. Although the Nara had an extremely large amount of land, it was easy to point where the wedding was being held. The loud music was especially helpful.
As Kakashi walked in he could see many people on the dance floor. He scanned for Sakura, but only found Naruto. Moving towards the young blond he asked for her where abouts and he pointed to a table all the way towards the back. Saying thanks he began walking to the cherry blossom, but abruptly stopped.
When Naruto pointed at the table far back he had expected to find Sakura alone, but he was wrong. Next to her was Yamato.
His pleasant face at the sight of Sakura vanished. He now wrinkled his eyes in confusions at what he was seeing.
Repeatedly he asked himself why the two were together, but found no reasonable answer. He continued to watch but had no clue as to what they were discussing. The booming music made it nearly impossible for him to hear anything being discussed between the two.
He was utterly confused when Yamato stood up in front of Sakura and extended his hands. He watched as Sakura timidly landed her hand on his. His mind raddled that she was frightened, that she needed help, his help, but Kakashi's body was still. He looked and waited for what they were going to do next. It soon dawned on him that they were to dance together.
At this Kakashi felt his temper rise. He had specifically told Yamato to stay away from her, but yet there he was, asking her to dance. Kakashi held himself from going up to the two and punching Yamato.
He watched as they walked toward the dance floor and then stopped. They turned to face each other, but didn't quickly begin dancing. Yamato seemed to be stuttering on where to lay his hands. Kakashi couldn't take it anymore and began walking toward them.
Yamato walked down the floor hand in hand with Sakura. He seemed to be dazzled at where he got this sudden courage from. Nonetheless, he was glad it took over. Once they reached their dancing destination, the courage that had followed the ninja disappeared. He let his hand fall off her and, with that, left all the confidence he had acquired.
What do I do now? Should I put my hands around her? Will she be fine with that? Maybe I should take her back to her seat? Yamato thought in his head, filled with panic.
Sakura saw how Yamato seemed to have been at a lost of what to do next. She wondered if it was just her imagination, but then noticed at how he diverted looking at her face while slowly (very slowly) lifted up his hands. At any other time she would have laughed at how the man before him was acting, but now she couldn't.
She knew what was making Yamato so nervous. The mission wasn't gone from his head, the same as it wasn't for her. They still held those memories and with them the awkwardness that didn't want that to stand between the two forever. She wanted the old Yamato and she would, some way or another, bring him back.
Grabbing his hands she put his left hand on her waist and paired his other free hand with hers. She settled her right hand on his shoulder and took the first step.
Sakura, herself, never had learned how to dance. The few steps she did know came from Ino, who had studied thoroughly the ways of being a proper lady. She, off course, thought that such a stereotype was beneath her and decided to put little to no interest in it. Her parents had insisted, however, claiming that it was the path to finding a proper man.
Now, with unpoised steps and terrible rhythm, she had wished she had paid a little more attention. Her pale face reddened every time she stepped on his shoes or tripped over them. She was sure that her slow movements went nothing with the upbeat song that was playing. To hide her embarrassment and try to prevent her feet from landing on his, she kept her head down, watching their feet.
When Sakura had connected her hands with his, Yamato was shocked. He hadn't expected such a reaction/interaction from her, but then again, everything he assumed Sakura would do was wrong. Daring himself to have a look at her, he tilted his face. The face he had expected to see, however, was concentrated on the floor. Throughout the dancing Yamato had let Sakura take total control, following Sakura's steps without question. As he guided his thoughts away from her and more to their dancing he began to feel a small weight on top of his legs every time he landed his feet back on the floor. He soon realized that those extra weights were Sakura's mistakes. Now he understood her inclination to stare at the floor. Trying to have a small look at her face again he was able to see red threw her locks of hair. Figuring that the red came from her cheeks he was able to conjure that she was embarrassed. At the thought, Yamato laughed figuring that that was impossible. At this Sakura lifted her head up and gave him a glare.
"What's so funny?" She asked with a smile that showed irritation.
Yamato quickly quieted down and replied, "Nothing."
Sakura puffed her cheeks at his response, "No, tell me!" She insisted.
Yamato lifted his hands and gently brushed his fingers on her cheeks. It was done by pure instinct, but once his thoughts came together he quickly said, "I-I, you're cheeks were red."
His response was the most stupidest one he had heard, but Sakura wasn't thinking the way he was. Her redden face only seemed to grow redder by his observation.
Yamato stared at her, this time knowing full well that she was embarrassed. He couldn't help but smile at how pure and innocent she still was. He had expected a more bruised and scarred Sakura, but this was not the case. Yamato was glad that this was not the case.
"You have a beautiful smile, did you know?" He said.
"Excuse me?" She replied no longer looking at the floor.
He gave another laugh and repeated, "Your laugh, its beautiful."
This brought another shade of red to her face. She feared that if this continued she would be able to compete with a tomato.
"Yes, she does, doesn't she?" A voice answered from behind her. The voice sounded more hostile than friendly.
Yamato quickly shifted his head to look at the man behind Sakura. He honestly didn't need to see to know that it was Kakashi.
Sakura quickly turned to Kakashi, glad that he had arrived. Letting go of Yamato she rushed to Kakashi and hugged him.
The brown haired nin's face fell at their interaction. Kakashi, although focusing his attention mainly on Sakura, saw Yamato's expression and was quite happy about it.
"Sorry for the long wait." Kakashi said.
"It's fine, I was with Yamato the whole time." She replied, a reply that was disliked by the Copy-nin.
Facing Yamato, Kakashi said, "Thank you for taking care of Sakura during my absence."
"It was no problem." He replied with a forced smile.
Sakura turned to the two, immediately noticing that something was different between them. They usually were never this this as one of their stupid jokes or games she brushed it off.
"Yamato and I were just beginning our dance." She said, getting the men's attention off each other.
"I never knew Yamato was the type to dance." The white haired nin replied.
"Yes he does and he's good at it too, compared to me, who has no idea how to."
"That's not a problem, I'll teach you." Kakashi replied.
Sakura in disbelief said, "You can dance?"
"If I didn't I wouldn't be teaching you." was his reply.
She gave him nod in agreement, but still having her doubts. "Next time we dance I won't be such an amiture." Sakura said to Yamato.
"Does that mean we aren't finishing our dance?" He asked sounding sad at the thought. Kakashi understood where his conversation was heading and sent Yamato a disgusting glare from behind Sakura.
It would have looked as if the gesture was not seen by the brown haired nin, but that was untrue. Yamato had seen, but he wouldn't let Kakashi get in the way. He had his goal and as much as it pained to know that Kakashi felt it as betrayal, he wanted to complete it.
"Would you still like to dance with me after my display?" She asked incredulous.
"Why not?"
"Did you not feel my rhythm-less feet crushing yours?"
"I didn't feel anything until you mentioned it." Sakura laughed at his antic.
Kakashi did not like their easy-going conversation between the two and certainly couldn't stand it. His blood boiled just seeing them next to each other.
"Kakashi, can you wait a little for Yamato and I to finish our dance."
He answered with the best smile he could muster and then walked to the table where he had first seen Sakura.
Yamato watched Kakashi obediently turn and head to the table, he also felt the deadly aurora that came out if him.
Focusing on Sakura he began the first steps this time. He moved slowly giving her time to follow his steps. As she got the hang of it he moved faster and she did the same. He was impressed at how fast she learned.
When she made a mistake she would look up at him apologetically and slow down again. He smiled at the way she arched her eyebrows together and paid more attention to where her feet landed.
At this moment Yamato felt very fortunate. He had thought that Sakura would have never have wanted to talk to him let alone look at him, but he was wrong. Here they were dancing and laughing. He couldn't comprehend how she could have this carefree attitude toward him, but he was glad. For once in a long time his pain that had gathered in his heart had left him. With every smile she sent him he grew joyous. Even as he felt the stares from someone who was seating far away with a killing intend directed toward him, he couldn't stop the happiness he was feeling.
Letting Sakura take the lead he followed her movement and praised her at how well she was doing. She quickly looked up at him to give a smile at his comments and then quickly turned back to what she was doing. He could only laugh at her reaction. At one point she had made a mistake that almost lost her balance, but was quickly saved by Yamato.
"Thanks," was all she could manage to say as she composed herself and continued the dance.
Chuckling Yamato said, "Don't be embarrassed, I made it look like it was part of the dance." At this Sakura laughed. She knew full well that such a mistake, especially to a party where mainly ninjas attended, could not be saved as another dance stunt.
Kakashi silently watched as they continued their dance, annoyed at anyone who got in his view. If he could he would have taken Sakura away from where they were and head back home. But he didn't want to make her upset.
He was glad when the song had ended.
Sakura and Yamato walked to where he was, hand in hand, smiling. Anger could not begin to explain what Kakashi was feeling. If Kakashi had known that Sakura would have meet up with him, he would have never allowed Sakura to come.
Kakashi realized how possessive that sounded, but that couldn't be changed. He wanted the best for her, and the best was for her to be separated from the man that had caused her pain.
As they got closer, Kakashi disguised his sour mood. Faking his smile he got up from his seat.
"How was the dance?" He asked.
"I did better this time than last. Yamato helped me out." Sakura turned to Yamato giving her a thankful smile. Yamato returned it.
"That's nice." Kakashi answered with much less civility than he wanted. Both, Yamato and Sakura, noticed it. Trying to fix his mood he added, "Well, its time to go."
Holding his arm up so that Sakura could take it, and she did, she asked Kakashi, "Why do you want to leave so soon?"
"I just came back from a mission and I'm very tired." He replied and added, "Unless you would like to stay with Yamato?"
Sakura heard his accusing tone and had no way of answering back. She knew Kakashi was acting differently, but none of his last actions during the day angered her until this one.
"I think its late and you should be heading home," Yamato interrupted, "its good that Kakashi wants to walk you home."
"You're forgetting that I am strong enough to walk home alone."
Yamato acknowledged that but added, "It is how a gentlemen should behave. If Kakashi hadn't walked you home, I would have offered." Yamato said this with a genuine smile toward Sakura, but couldn't let go of the odd feeling of hate directed at him.
Sakura, giving into defeat, agreed to leave with Kakashi. Before leaving though, she spoke to Yamato. "Tomorrow, can you pass over my house? I would like to talk with you more."
Yamato gladly accepted. He was indeed happy with the offer and though he knew that Kakashi was more than upset with him, he couldn't help but not care about what the Copy-nin thought.
Kakashi walked the streets of Konoha side by side with Sakura in complete silence. He was, inside, cursing at the nights events. How he had let all this happen was beyond him! He cursed himself for letting Sakura go, for having left her alone, but most of all, he cursed Yamato.
He had told the brown haired nin to stay away from Sakura, but he wasn't listening. Kakashi had assumed that Yamato's guilt would be more than enough to keep him away. So, he was very surprised at how well Yamato was able to talk to Sakura after all that had happened. If it were him, he would surely have no courage to be anywhere near Sakura.
"Are you angry at me?" The rosetta asked out of nowhere.
Kakashi turned to Sakura and answered a quick "No."
Sakura continued to eye him. She knew Kakashi well enough. It was surely difficult to understand Kakashi when it came to his thoughts, but his emotions were different. He was always cool and collected, but as Sakura observed over the years she found that Kakashi was very simple to read when it came to his emotions.
"Why are you mad?" She asked.
"I said I wasn't mad."
"Just tell me what's bothering you?"
"Nothing, Sakura, its-its nothing..."
"If its nothing then why are you like this?" She said moving her hands to indicate that she was talking about his behavior.
"How else am I supposed to act?" He asked with a small temper.
"I don't know, normal, maybe. Since I met you today you've been acting differently. Why?"
"It's nothing, you're just thinking too much about it."
"Kakashi don't say its nothing. Tell me, I want to help." Her voice came out with concern. She felt something was wrong and wanted to help him if it was within her grasp.
"Sakura, just forget it." He replied.
"But .."
"Leave it alone, its none of your buisness!" Kakashi said with a louder voice than usual.
Sakura wasn't expecting this reaction from her former sensei. Although she had never seen him loss control before, she never expected for her to see it in the future either, especially directed at her.
Even though the words came as a surprise to her, her thoughts were firm. She hadn't expected this or deserved this. She just wanted a response and he wasn't going to give her any. If he wasn't going to respond to her then she had, as he said, no buisness with him.
Sending chakra to her feet Sakura jumped from roof to roof back home. She heard Kakashi yell her name, but she didn't turn or look back. He had made it clear, he needed time alone and she was giving it to him.
So...? What did you think? I finally feel like Yamato is going to do something, Yes =)! Anyways please review, highly appreciate it. Oh and one more thing, I would like to introduce you guys to Dakota, my new laptop. He will be assisting me in making these new chapters come to you guys ^.^
