It's ok, I'm alive!

I'm so sorry guys. College courses took over, family drama followed along, mini breakdowns made a few surprise appearances- seriously, I feel so messed up. I don't know if I even remember how to write. Let's find out together, shall we?

Jack's POV

"11 bottles of beer on the wall, 11 bottles of beer…..why am I evening singing this song? I don't even like beer. Now where was I?...Shit, I forgot. I don't want to start all over." I mumbled to myself as I looked at one of the walls in my own private cell. About a fourth of it is covered in bloody single line scratches, made by my fingernails.

A quick peek at my hands showed all my fingertips covered in dry blood and peeling dead skin. Some of my fingernails had cracks in them. Good thing I'm already dead, or else I probably would have died from an infection.

The only reason I've been doing it to keep track of my days since going into captivity.

Taking a quick count, I was reminded that I have been here for 123 days. It was late December when I was taken, so that would put us around the ending of March and the beginning of April. More or less.

If my calculations are correct, the next holiday coming up is April fool's Day. A day that should be filled with inflatable fart balloons, plastic snakes stuffed into cans of fake peanut brittle, and corny prank phone calls to various fast food restaurant and old people.

Unfortunately, just like New Years, Valentine's, and Saint Patrick's, it won't be celebrated.

And if this trend continues on any further, no holidays will be celebrated ever again.

One night while dreaming, I had gotten word from Man in Moon about the state of emergency the Immortal realm was under. Immortals were being captured left and right, children were beginning to lose faith in them and the Guardians.

Because of this, he had to make a very difficult decision that none of us knew he had the power to do.

Using the remainder of his strength and power, Man in Moon was able to put the entire word- adults, children, and animals- into a deep sleep. Kind of like the main character in Sophie's favorite book, Sleeping Beauty. Except a kiss from a true love will not wake any of them up.

None of them will wake up until the world is declared safe and in balance once again.

And because Man in Moon used up his strength, he also fell into a deep sleep. None of us have heard from him in months.

Since there were no kids to fear Pitch, he wasn't getting any stronger. Unfortunately, he's been able to retain his power and remains stronger than all of the Immortals and Guardians combined.

This whole situation makes my blood boil every time I think of it, and that says a lot since I am a spirit of Winter. Ice practically runs through my veins. Pitch Black and his new found powers were able to overthrow the balance of good and bad in a matter of months.

Every day, a new batch of Immortals were brought before the new 'King' and given two choices: they can pledge their eternal loyalty and service to Pitch Black or they can be locked away for life.

It doesn't take a genius to know that a majority of them choose the latter. Mother Nature even spit at Pitch's feet, saying that she would never lower herself to serving a madman.

Only 3 spirits have sworn loyalty: Hal, the Spirit of Halloween; Liam, the Spirit of St. Patrick's Day; and Abril, the Spirit of April Fool's Day.

Hal and Liam are actually old time friends with Pitch, so it wasn't a hard choice for them. They were thrilled to be right handed men to Pitch.

Abril, on the other hand, was just an innocent spirit who going to say no at first.

She was brought at the same time as Mother Nature, Groundhog, and Cupid. Pitch had been 'busy' at the time of their arrival, so they were thrown into a cell across from me to wait until the King was available.

That was the first time I had seen and met Abril, she was still considered a newborn. Somehow, we started talking that and she informed me of her life story. I had learned that she died 3 months ago, at the early age of 23, due to an illness she had since her childhood.

Due to her cheery nature and her love of practical jokes, Man in Moon thought she'd make a perfect addition to the Immortal family, as the spirit of April fool's. Even though she was shocked at first, she was soon thrilled to learn that she'd still be able to watch over her family and play jokes on them when they least expected it.

They had all actually thought that her ghost had stuck around to haunt them; in a way, they weren't totally off the mark.

In fact, it helped them to cope with her death.

Anyway, I had mentioned out loud how she and Genie would have made great friends had they gotten the chance to meet. That's when the rivalry between Abril and Carol, aka Cupid, was born. All because of something I said.

*Flashback*

"Friends?!" Cupid stepped up to the bars, standing side by side with Abril, who hadn't been able to sit down the whole time she's been there. "Who would want to be friends with her? It's Genie's fault this is all happening."

"Why would you say that?" I shouted at her.

"Because it is. Seriously, if that had been me, I would have kept fighting until my dying breath, but no, she had to be weak and give into him. Now because of her, all of us are locked in cold cells; while her Highness is probably snuggling in bed with his Majesty."

"Sounds like somebody's jealous." Abril muttered a little too loudly for all the cells to hear. Or maybe she did that on purpose.

"Excuse me?" Cupid turned towards Abril, her hair flipping dramatically in the process. She seemed to be glaring dagger into Abrils' face.

"You heard me, or are those big ears just for show?"

All the male Immortals in their cells gasped out loud at the insult Abril just made about Carol.

Cupid was considered the most beautiful girl among the realm, grabbing the attention of every male when she entered the room. Well, except me and Bunny. Truthfully, we were very annoyed by her and her constant flirting.

Pure black curly hair and bright blue eyes stood out compared to her porcelain skin, not an imperfection in sight. Her full lips were naturally colored red and naturally pouty.

She always wore a short baby pink dressed that stopped at mid-thigh. Normally, she always had her bow and heart shaped arrows hanging from her back; but I'm pretty sure they were confiscated upon her arrival.

I think Genie is prettier.

"My ears are not big."

"Are you sure? They would match your ego perfectly." I had to bite into one of my fist to stop myself from laughing out loud.

"Do you know who I am?"

"Yes, because you wouldn't stop shouting it all the way down here. I'm Cupid, I'm Cupid, bringer of Love, blah blah blah. Guess what? Pitch didn't give a damn and I'm pretty sure those of us down here who don't run mainly on testosterone don't care either."

Wait a minute, I run mainly on testosterone.

"Hey, don't lump me in with all of them."

"Oh, not you Jack. We all know who you love."

"How do you know Pitch doesn't care? We haven't seen him yet. I'm sure those two goons have informed him who he'll be in the presence of."

"Because if he did care, he would have made his move years ago. But from what I heard, Pitch doesn't even come within a 10 feet radius of you. He'd much rather chase after Genie than hook up with you"

"Ok, why are you even defending her? I stated early that it's her fault we're all in this mess" Abril stalled in her heated argument with Carol and look towards me, she wanted to hear what I had to say.

"Abril, I swear, she's not a bad person."

"I know she's not. She's just a girl in love." Hearing her say that made my whole body heat up with joy. I knew it, Genie still loves me.

"Please explain what that has to do with anything." Cupid just had to run my small happy moment, I don't get many of those now!

"You know, for the bringer of Love, you're pretty clueless when it comes to the subject. A girl in love will do anything, be it stupid or crazy. Put yourself in her shoes for a minute. You're a human, someone with no power and many weaknesses. One day, a crazed being with immense power and little weaknesses approaches you and declares that he'll destroy everything you love and cherish unless you give into him. Now before you say you'll fight back, keep in mind what I said earlier, you have no power. And we all know that regular weapons don't do a thing to us."

It was easy to see that Cupid's brain was overheating. She was trying really hard to come up with some kind of counter attack. We waited for a total of 5 minutes before Cupid finally thought of something.

"Pitch runs on fear alone. I would have conquered my fear of him." She smirked, thinking she had won the battle. I really hope she didn't, I want to see Abril win.

"Not everybody can conquer their fear in such a short amount of time." Abril informed her.

"She tried!" I had to cut in. "And I know she's still trying."

"But if she hasn't succeeded, that makes her weak and pathetic!" Abril grabbed onto Carol's shoulder and pulled her away from the bars, the momentum of the force made Carol stumble back a couple of feet into the middle of the cell.

"Those means the same, idiot." Abril yelled into her face.

Ok, I've had enough of this.

"I love her!" I yelled with all my might, the sentence echoed across the room. "That's it, plain and simple, I love her. Whatever you say doesn't matter Cupid. She has my heart and I'm more than sure I still have hers. The day I stop caring will be the day I take my last breath as an Immortal."

Thankfully, that was more than enough to make Cupid shut up. She scoffed at me before turning away and pushing past Mother Nature.

"I have an idea Jack." Abril pulled my attention back to her. "Pitch will probably send for us in a bit. He hasn't made us choose our sides yet. If I say yes to his offer, I'll be able to keep an eye on him and Genie for you."

"Abril, no, don't put yourself in that situation."

"I may look like just a pretty face with a rocking bod, but I know how to take care of myself. I'm not scared of him one bit. Plus, like you said, Genie and I may make great friends."

*End Flashback*

And that's how Abril became #3 of Pitch's army. She visits me down here often, keeping me informed of everything.

Oh, and she was totally right about Cupid being jealous of Genie. Apparently, she had tried to seduce Pitch into leaving Genie for her and he just pushed her away.

He even dragged her back into a random cell himself, stating out loud how he only had eyes for one girl.

Before leaving, he stopped in front of my cell and taunted me once more, saying that he and Genie were very happy together; and that she is slowly forgetting me.

I remained stone-face, determined to not show any emotions to him. I knew he was lying, but that doesn't mean it didn't hurt.

That night, when the noises finally stopped, I was somehow able to fall asleep. My body had been exhausted from the battle but my mind was wide awake.

Because of that, I had a nightmare.

Genie was standing right in front of me, her face completely blank of any emotion. Her eyes looked to be made of glass. No matter what I said or did, she didn't react. From the shadows behind her appeared Pitch, his face grinning menacingly.

He held up one hand, out of each finger came thick strands of black sand. On command, they rushed forward, piercing into Genie's skin.

I screamed out loud as the sight of blood began to seep out of her body; not just at the puncture wounds, but also out of her eyes, nose, and mouth.

I didn't have my staff with me in the dream so I wasn't able to attack. Not that I wanted to, Genie stood in the middle. I knew it was just a nightmare and nothing would really happen to her. But it didn't matter, I couldn't bring myself to hurt her.

With his other hand, Pitch placed a small dagger in one of Genie's hand. He whispered something into her ear, his tongue sticking out quickly to lick at her blood.

With a flick of his wrist, her body flew towards me, the tip pointing straight at my heart. I had woken up at that part, my body covered in sweat. It was all too real.

"Hey ice-man." A female voice pulled me out of my thoughts. "You've been standing there staring at me for the past 5 minutes. I know I'm attractive and all, but I'm not someone who goes after a taken man."

"Abril."

The Spirit of April Fool's Day stood in front of my cell, a pity smile graced her shining face. And I do mean shining. Besides her body letting off a natural sunny shine, the short golden hair spirit always wore colorful clothes, her favorite color being bright yellow.

It worked for her though; her green hazel eyes stood out perfectly.

"How you doing Jack?" Her hands reached through the bars to pull me into an awkward hug. I gripped onto her the best I could, enjoying the little warm contact I could get from her.

Pitch had decided to move me to a different cell a while back, making sure it was secluded from everybody else. Abril still found a way to come see me and cheer me up though.

"Could be doing better." I muttered. She released me from the hug, her hands moving up towards my cheeks to wipe away the dried tear stains.

"You've been crying again. Thinking about that nightmare again?" I ignored her question, she already knew the answer.

"How's she doing?"

"Oh shit!" I jumped away from the bars as Abril yelled out.

"What? What happened? What did he do to her?" The questions seemed to flow out of my mouth at an amazing speed.

"Déjà vu! I feel like I've heard that question before….Oh yeah, Genie asked me the same thing about you last night."

I honestly had no idea how to respond to that. Abril was jumping side to side, waiting for my reaction to her little 'joke'. I just took a deep breath and sat down on the floor, crossing my legs.

"You know, for the Spirit of April Fool's, you're not as funny as you think."

"What?!" She kneels down to the floor and leaned forward, going against the bars. "I'll have you know that I'm hilarious. Genie thinks so, I always have her laughing up a storm when I'm with her."

" Yeah, I know. I can hear it. Thanks for that." Abril is the only immortal that Pitch will allow around Genie. According to her, Genie is terrified of Hal due to a previous spider incident and Liam just annoys her.

"She needs it also. Poor thing has nothing to do but sleep and read. Between us, I feel like she's losing her luster also. Her hair seems lanky and her skin just doesn't have that sun kiss glow. That's not normal for a girl!"

"I know."

"So that's why, after much work on my part, I've received permission from Pitch to take Genie outside."

"You did what now?!"

Genie's POV

"14 bottles of beer on the wall, 14 bottles of beer, take one down, pass it around, 13 bottles of beer on the wall." I took in a deep breath, held it in for a while, and then let it out in the loudest sigh manageable; like always, any noise I make ricochet off the walls. This painfully reminded me of how alone I am.

"Do I have the energy to finish the last 13 bottles? I did start at 200 instead of 100."

My arms shifting around to make a temporary pillow for my head. I was too lazy to stand and pick up the pillows from the floor.

Let's see, what have I done today?

I wiped down the floors. I dusted what little furniture I have. I made the bed, then jumped on it while singing about monkeys jumping on the bed, therefore messing it up again. I worked out by running laps around the room and did a few sit ups. And I re-read two books from my library.

Well, all I got to say is this: I'm bored and I hate myself for admitting that.

I've totally run out of things to do. I've read every book in my mini library, except for the romance and history section. It doesn't matter how much Pitch begs me to read the romance, starting how it could help spice up our love life, I refuse to.

And I just hate history.

A small yawn escaped through my lips as I turned onto my side, getting ready to take a small nap. I opened my eyes for a second to see someone lying right next to me.

I jumped up into a sitting position and screamed out while shuffling away from the someone. I ended up shuffling a little too far; next thing I knew, I was on the floor with all the pillows.

"You're not gonna finish the song? It's one of my favorites." The someone crawled over to the edge of the bed, her head poking over to look at me. "You're not being a very good host. Honor my request and finish the song."

"Geez Abril, you gave me a freakin heart attack!" I grabbed one of the pillows from under me and swung it at her face, missing completely because- surprise surprise- she can fly.

"Missed me, missed me, now you gotta kiss me!" She giggled at her own rhyme.

"Tempting but I'll pass." I sat up, kicking the rest of the pillows away from me. "Liam will probably get jealous." Abril shuddered and made a gagging noise.

Liam had been watching Abril from afar since she became an Immortal. I was there the day he tried to ask her out.

That was the day that Pitch insisted that I met his guards. They were all gathered in the throne room, waiting for my arrival.

*Flashback*

"Are you ready, my Queen?" Pitch had me lying up against him, my head placed right on his chest right over his heart. One of his hands was playing with random strands of my heart, often stopping to caress the back of my neck.

"Why is this important again?" I shook my head to shoo away his hand and motioned to get up. He followed with me, grabbing my hands as I shuffled off the bed.

"Because, my love, the subjects need to know who they are loyal to."

"They're called subjects now? Have you been reading those history books about the past monarchs of England again?" We strolled across the room, hand in hand, stopping in front of one of the concrete walls. Pitch's black sand appeared and began to create a portal for us to pass through.

I admit, I'm a little excited to be stepping out for a bit. A slight change in scenery should do me some good.

"Well, you don't like history and I didn't want to waste those books." He wrapped his arm firmly around my waist before we passed through the portal. My little excitement quickly died after seeing this wasn't really a change in scenery. All the halls I could see from my position looked to have the same grey concrete walls.

We began walking down what seemed like an endless maze. Pitch had all the halls changing on demand, it was making me a little dizzy. After several twist and turns, we finally made it to Pitch's throne room. From a distance, I could already see three figures standing in the middle: Two males, both of them short but one chubbier than the other, and one female.

The two males were chatting away while the female was off on her own, opting to play with her nails instead.

"The King and Queen are approaching." The chubby orange haired announced to the other two. The girl moved to stand closer to the group. Once we were in the room and standing right in front of them, all three bowed slightly at the waist.

It felt so awkward to be standing there while 3 people bowed, being the center of attention was always too stressing for me. I never even looked at my own family in their eyes when they sang 'Happy Birthday' to me. My natural defense mechanism is to look away.

"Do not look away. They are doing this out of respect for you." Pitch whispered into my ear, obviously sensing my discomfort.

"Are you sure it isn't out of fear?" I whispered back.

"Us? Fear him?!" The three stopped bowing, finally; and the chubby one walked towards me. "Liam and I have been pals with Pitch here since before the Dark Ages. It's about time one of us comes into real power."

"My dear, these are my two good friends: Hal, Spirit of Halloween; and Liam, Spirit of St. Patrick's Day."

Truthfully, I would have guessed Hal belonged with Halloween. His appearance definitely screams Trick or Treat. He was small, barely coming up to my waist, and round. His hair was bright orange and very spiky, guess he uses way too much gel. His skin tone was almost the same as Pitch's, except a little lighter. He wore tight black pants with chains and metal skulls dangling from the pockets, his shirt was bright orange with horizontal purple stripes, and a black trench coat decorated with silver pumpkins.

Liam, on the other hand, was also short but was way thinner than Hal. He had bright orange hair that was curly instead of spiky. His skin tone was about the same as mine. He wore the typical leprechaun outfit that you'd see in the Hollywood movies: that little green suit with the green hat and shoes with buckles on them. What bothered me about him was his long orange beard, it went all the way down to his waist….that thing needed a trim.

"So you must be the famous Genie." Liam stuck one of his hands out towards me, the palm facing up. Hesitantly, I placed one of my hands in it, expecting a quick handshake. Instead, he knelled down onto one knee, his head bowing once more.

Did Pitch show them pictures from those damn History books? That's it, I need to burn those stupid things.

Hal had moved to repeat Liam's actions with my other hand. Right when I was able to put it in his palm, I saw something small creeping up on his back. Shivers started to dance up and down my spine when that something small turned into a big blob. Upon closer inspection, I discovered that the big black blob was, in fact, a colony of black widow spiders.

"SPIDERS!" My screech was so loud that the room rumbled from the sheer volume. Every occupant in the room covered their ears when my one word shriek turned into a scream of absolute terror.

I backed away from Hal, bumping into Pitch in the process. Before he could grab onto me, I rounded around him and jumped onto his back. My arms wrapped around his neck and my legs around his waist, making it a double iron grip.

I'm pretty sure I've pointed out that I have arachnophobia.

Pitch was totally caught off guard by my action. He almost fell backwards onto me from the momentum. Somehow, he was able to regain his footing and his balance, but that didn't save him from the iron grips. From the choking noises I heard from him, my arms must cutting off his airway.

"Genie?" He choked out, his hands gripping onto my arms to loosen them up. But it wasn't working. Hal and Liam got closer to help Pitch out, only resulting in me screaming louder since that meant the colony of spiders were getting closer too.

"DEMON SPAWNS OF SATAN!" I yelled into Pitch's ear, positive that I'm closer to busting open the eardrum. " Kill them, Kill them, Kill them…" I began to chant; and would not stop until they were out of my sight.

"Hal, get rid….of…them…now." Pitch's words came out sporadically; my grip somehow getting tighter around his neck.

"Sorry sorry, right away." Hal did a quick bow before running out of the throne room. I could hear the clanking of his shoes getting further and further away.

My arms had gone numb from the surge of strength I exerted by choking Pitch, it was hard to tell if I had loosen my grip or not. Since Pitch doesn't seem to be struggling for air anymore, I guess they did.

"You ok honey?" A hesitant tap on my shoulder caused my heart to beat my rib cage once more. Seriously, with all the scares that my heart is getting, it's shocking that I'm not dead yet. My head turned quickly to the side, causing me to experience a little whiplash.

"Don't do that!" I yelled at the figure that was there, who happened to be the only other female here. When I saw her flinch a little from my harsh statement, I immediately felt bad. Way to make a first impression Genie.

Loosening my grip completely, I slowly slid off Pitch's back. When I was sure my feet were touching the floor, I let my legs give out so that I would land on my knees.

The girl knelt down to my level, checking to see if I was breathing and rational.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to yell in your face. It's just my poor heart can't take much more."

"Dude, I can totally understand. If you didn't notice, I actually flew up a little to get away from Hal as well. Seriously, why does he have to carry about those creepy little shits?" I was a little taken back by her blunt language but found I quickly got over it.

"You can fly?" I don't know why it was so shocking to see someone else flying. After all, 3 out of 5 Guardians are capable of soaring as well.

"Oh yeah, actually, a majority of Immortals can fly. We have to get from point A to point B somehow. It's great and all but once you're in the sky, everything looks almost the same; at least to me it does. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten lost and had to stop for directions. It's embarrassing really. Oh by the way, I'm Abril, Spirit of April Fool's. Very original, I know. But hey, Man in moon said it suited me. So if you dislike it, take it up with him."

"No no, I like it, it really suits you." She grabbed onto my hand and helped me stand back up, the feeling in my legs had returned. She swatted lightly at my pants, ridding it of any and all imaginary dust.

"Thank you! But really, I'm sure if I can get people to sign a petition or something, he'll change it. Wanna help me start it?" With a wave of her hand and a poof of smoke, a clipboard and a pen appeared. "First ten signatures get a free…"

"I had a feeling you two would hit it off." Pitch stepped in-between the two of us, his black sand moving at Abril's feet, making her move away from us. "I'm very glad and all but don't forget Abril, this is your Queen and you will treat her with the proper respect, do I make myself clear?"

"Pitch, you don't have to threaten her." I tried to make him move so that I could continue talking to her, but he only budged about an inch, barely enough for me to see Abril's face. Her cheerful disposition had quickly disappeared, now replaced with a stoic manner.

"Of course. My Queen, please forgive me." The clipboard and pen were now gone. Abril's arms now hung limply at her sides. She had bowed her head once again; she was waiting for my answer to her request of forgiveness.

"But there's nothing to forgive. Thank you so much for talking with me, I really needed it." Pitch groaned and rolled his eyes at my answer, guess it wasn't what he wanted to hear.

"What did I miss?" Hal had returned from wherever he went, no longer wearing his black trench coat. That meant he no longer had his spiders either.

"I'll be retiring early with my Queen. You three already know what your duties are, make sure to bring them all back alive." I was able to look over at Abril once more before Pitch grabbed onto my shoulder to pull me along with him.

She smiled and mouthed silently 'we'll talk later' to me. I don't know how she'll do it but she seems like the kind of girl that will make whatever she wants happen.

From the corner of my eye, I saw Liam approaching Abril with a bouquet of four leaf clovers. She glanced at him before looking around the room, no doubt trying to find some place to hide.

"I had no idea Liam liked Abril." I asked Pitch as we stepped out of the throne room.

"No surprise, you just met them. I have told Liam he's too obvious." We took a few more steps in silence before hearing an angry Abril yelling at Liam.

"You pervert!" That was followed by a slap. I was itching to run back to see what happened but Pitch kept pushing me back into the maze, returning me to my prison.

*End of Flashback*

It wasn't until I saw Abril a few days later that I found out what happened.

"Psh, let him get jealous. Stupid leprechaun thinks he still has a chance with this, after flat out telling me that he was practically stalking me for months. Who comes up to a girl and says 'I've been watching you for some time?'." She lowered her voice a few octaves to mimic a generic male voice.

"Any who, not that I'm not happy to see you but why are you here?" I had to change the subject quickly before Abril went into another one of her rants about Liam being disgusting.

"Why am I here? Why am I here? You know, I've often pondered that question, even as a mortal. No one really knows the correct answer."

"Very funny Abril."

"If it was funny, why didn't you laugh?"

"If you haven't noticed, my friend, I'm not exactly in a good mood right now." I crawled back onto the bed, flopping down onto my stomach.

"That right there, there's the right answer." She grabbed onto my arm and pulled my body off the bed, almost causing me to collide onto the floor. Even before I could catch my footing, she continued to pull me across the room to the wall. I'm starting to hate walls.

"I, the great Abril, have gotten permission from 'His Majesty' to take you outside! Isn't that great?!" She placed herself on the ground in front of me; and grabbed onto both my hands while bouncing on her two feet.

"You did what?" I stared at her in disbelief. If possible, she made my brain short circuit with those words. "Are you joking with me?"

"Even though that is my job and something I greatly enjoy doing, no I'm not. I really got Pitch to agree to you going outside."

"How? Tell me how!" I grabbed onto her shoulders and shook her slightly. "I've been trying to do that since I first got here."

"It wasn't easy. It involved me borrowing a tactic from that stupid leprechaun. Stalked Pitch everywhere he went and begged nonstop. And when I say nonstop, I do mean nonstop. The only reason he kept me alive was because he knew how pissed you be if I suddenly wasn't around. " Images of Abril flying around Pitch's head suddenly popped into my brain. Wish I could have seen her bother him like that.

"But there's no way to get outside. I can't exactly walk through concrete walls."

"I can't either. But we won't need to do that since there's a Nightmare on the other side of this wall waiting for my signal. So should I give the signal that we're ready?"

I quickly shook my head 'no'. Before she could ask why, I put my finger to her mouth to keep her quiet. Silently, I tip-toed over to the bookcase and began to scan through the sections. It took me a while remember which one it was that I needed.

Finally remembering, I pulled the book out of the case and opened it to where the noticeable lump was: right there, laid the locket that Tooth gave me that time in front of the fireplace.

Ok, I know this chapter isn't my usual long one. But I mainly wanted to get this out to let you all know that this story will be continued. For now, just take in the 3 new characters. Especially Abril, who is actually based off of a very very good friend of mine.

By the way, sorry for any major grammar and spelling mistakes. Wrote this at like 2:30 am.

Until next time, Happy New Year!
