Hey guys, how's it going? I've never uploaded a chapter this early before. I'm afraid with my long breaks I may have lost a couple of my faithful readers. I didn't get many reviews on the last chapter but I am determined to finish this.

And now I'm thinking about writing a sequel, but it would be focused on Abril. With Genie making a few appearance as well. What do you guys think?

Shout out to my reviewers: Cora, Celestial-froschh, SmallLittleCagedBird, theonlyredarrow, aprilthirteen13, and last but not least, the real Abril. She doesn't have an account but I know she's reading.

Pitch's POV

The longer that Abril takes to get here, the more I start to think that approving of this was a huge mistake. The risks of Genie being found by the Guardians are extremely high. As I sit on my throne, waiting for the arrival of my servant with my queen, my eyes started to travel back and forth to random parts of the room; my mind was wandering over 1000 miles an hour, playing out different scenarios that could possibly happen. All of them had the same ending; I would lose the most precious treasure in the world.

Genie, the girl that has made me happier than I have been since the Dark Ages.

"Pitch, you're starting to make me nervous." Liam leaned casually against the side of my thrones, playing with a random bouquet of four leaf clovers. He was playing to present them to Abril once more, in hopes that she would accept his request for a date.

I've honestly lost count of how many times she has rejected him.

"What reason do you have to be nervous? My Queen will be out in the open, an easy target. And all she'll have is one spirit guarding her. "

"Abril is strong enough to defend our Queen if anything were to happen."

"Thanks for the reassurance. But you didn't answer my first question. Again I ask why you are nervous?"

"You keep tapping on the arm rest with your fingernails and both your legs won't stop shaking. It's driving me crazy and making me very anxious. Look!" He showed the bouquet into my face. "I accidently pulled out a few clovers. What will Abril think when she sees this?!"

"Would you be so kind and get those out of my face?" I growled out. Instead of doing as I said, he just dropped the supposed ruined bouquet onto my lap and skipped away. "I don't want this."

"I can't give them to Abril. She'll hate them." Seems my nervousness is a bit contagious. My fidgety friend started to do a little tap dance a few feet away from me.

He only does that when he's apprehensive. It is a rare and funny thing; I would have teased him about it if my mind was preoccupied at the moment.

"Hate to tell you this, my friend, but Abril doesn't really care about the clovers." Part of me wishes that I could tell him that Abril doesn't care about him period. But even I, the Nightmare King, couldn't break his heart.

The same day that Liam had seen the Spirit of April Fool's Day, he invited Hal and me over to his place to tell us how he had finally found his soul mate.

He had happened to be in the same area she had been 'reborn' as an Immortal. My old friend, Man in Moon, had wanted her birthed in a happier environment; not the one she had perished in, a hospital. A hospital was too overcome with negative emotions.

So he escorted her soul to a field full of sunflowers and sunshine. There also happened to be a rainbow there that day. Her soul has passed through the yellow portion of the rainbow, giving her that sunshine glow that doesn't seem to dissipate.

Liam was there, collecting the gold that rainbows left at the end of its trail. When second she was 'born', he couldn't take his eyes off her.

Much how I couldn't take my eyes off of Genie that night when I saw her sleeping.

"Do you have to pee or something, leprechaun?" A familiar female voice echoed loudly in my throne room.

"My Love!" Liam ceased in his dancing with the arrival of Abril and Genie. Immediately, he ran as fast as his short legs would let him, his arms wide open and aimed at the female Spirit.

Abril walked in, holding onto the reins of the Nightmare I assigned to her. It followed her in obediently. . On top of the Nightmare sat my precious Queen. I stood from my throne and blended into the shadows at the side of my throne, only to reappear right behind the Nightmare.

"Don't call me that." Abril placed her palm straight out. Liam ran right into it with a loud smack. Despite the hard smack to his face, he continued to run in place, hoping to somehow get closer to her. "Back away shorty."

"Can I please get a hug?"

"Sure, when cows can jump over the moon." Her sarcastic answer seemed to be enough to get him to stop running on place. Following her orders, he backed away from her.

"Alright, no hug. How about a date, instead?"

"Look Liam, the day I accept a date with you will be the day I dance the macarena on the moon while wearing a sombrero and eating a taco."

"Thy will be done." He turned away to walk out of the room, mumbling something about asking Man in Moon for a huge favor.

As if he'd every do us any favors. Even though Liam and Hal were born from Man in the Moon's power, he still dislikes them. Solely because they are my friends.

"Uh, Abril…" Genie reached down to tap on the Spirit's shoulder. "Out of curiosity, why those three specific things?"

"Because I come from a family with strong Mexican roots." She puffed her chest out slightly with pride. Neither Genie nor I were buying that answer. "And the macarena was the first dance that popped into my head for some reason."

"And what about the taco?"

"Oh, that's because I really really want a taco right now!" Abril flew up to Genie's level. She threw her arms out radically before wrapping them around Genie's waist. "Tacos are my favorite!"

Alright, I've had enough of this tomfoolery.

"Abril, how many times have I told you to treat the Queen with proper respect?" I placed my hand on top of Genie's denim clad thigh. She was dressed warmly, jeans and a thick black sweater. She also had a scarf wrapped loosely around her neck.

Good, it was pretty chilly outside. Well, I considered it chilly; so in her case, it might be freezing.

"About 9 times….actually, exactly 9 times. You know repetition is good for the brain." I rolled my eyes while slowly shaking my head side to side. Abril was easily able to see the non-amused look on my face.

Taking that as her cue, she released Genie's waist and floated back down to the ground.

"Sorry sir, I swear I'll remember next time. You have my word."

"See to it that you keep your world. Now, leave us. I need to have a moment alone with my Queen."

"Yes, my King. I'll be waiting at the entrance." She bowed her head before flying off to the entrance of the hideout.

"Pitch, she doesn't do anything wrong." Genie placed her hand gently onto top of mine, wrapping perfectly around my own.

It's moments like this that I live for, when she willingly touches me, letting me enjoy the warmth she radiates.

I stood there silently for just a few moments, enjoying the feel of her soft smooth skin against my rough calloused hand. My palm turned upward, playing nimbly with her fingers. Her fingers nails grazed along the padding of my hand, innocently sending shivers down my spine and stopped right at my groin.

Our eyes met and that's when I lost it.

I grabbed onto her arm and pulled her down off the Nightmare, catching her delicate body before it hit the floor. Not caring about who or what may see, I lowered her down to the ground,

"Pitch." She gasped out from my sudden action. I removed the scarf from her neck with one hand and held both her wrist over her head with the other. Somehow, I was able to turn the scarf into improvised handcuffs.

"Yes, say my name. Let me hear that sweet music." How long had it been since we had made love? To me, it felt likes ages; I constantly yearned for her. My unquenchable thirst grew stronger by the day.

In fact, it grew stronger with every second I'm with Genie.

"Wait a minute." I ignored her as I began to grind my hips against hers, the slight friction caused by both our pants was almost too much for me to handle. Already, I could feel myself close to releasing.

I was so caught up in the euphoria that I hadn't noticed my grip on her wrist had loosened, giving her a chance to free her hands. I hadn't noticed her small hands against my chest, pushing me off of her and onto my own back.

Somewhere in there, she had also managed to untie her hands.

"Not fair, my love." Using the scarf to her advantage, she moved to wrap it around the back of my neck. She had a little mischievous look plastered on her face. She pulled on the two ends of the scarf, bringing my upper body close to hers.

In that instance, I saw a side of my Genie I'd never seen before. She was in a position that had completely controlled over me. Her body sat firmly on my groin, putting it under intense yet delicious pressure. Her eyes narrowed slightly, giving me a smoldering gaze. Her mouth was slightly agape, her tongue coming out teasingly to lick across her plump pink lips.

It seems she knew that my full attention was directly on her tongue. She caught me completely off guard when she began to roll her hips. Forward, backward, forward, backward, settling into a slow painful pace.

I've never wanted so badly to grab onto her hips and rid her of these forsaken jeans. My hands began to twitch, moving on their own accord towards the hem of her jeans. When she noticed my hands were moving, she halted her own movement.

"Don't move your hands." She growled at me. That was a horrible thing to say, it made me want to do it even more. "Now, Pitch, I knew what you were going to do." She whispered.

"Oh really? And what was it that I was going to do?" I licked my own dry lips, hoping to seduce her to continue forward with his little game.

"You were going to change your mind about letting me outside, weren't you?" The tone she gave me was meant to be playful; but I could tell from her gaze that she was serious.

She had caught me. Yes, before she had stepped into the room, I had thought about changing my mind. Then I really thought about it when I had her tied up on the ground.

"Maybe I was. But…"

"Shut your mouth." Now normally, I wouldn't let anybody talk to me that way. But when you have an incredibly sexy woman sitting on top of you and using her hips as a weapon, you listen. So that's exactly what I did.

Satisfied that she had silence me for now, she continued.

"If you decide to change your mind, then that's fine. But I warn you, when we get back to the room, you'll get absolutely nothing from me. You wouldn't like that, would you?"

All I could manage to do was shaking my head.

"On the other hand, if you let me go outside with Abril for a few minutes and don't send either Liam or Hal, when I get back…." She paused for a bit before leaning her head forward to where her mouth was now inches from my ear. "I'm will rock…" Her hips gave a sharp jerk "your…" Another jerk. "world." At the end of that sentence, I felt her tongue lick the shell of my ear before pulling my earlobe into her mouth to nibble on.

What this woman is doing right now is pure evil, and I absolutely love it.

"Do we have an agreement?" She whispered before continuing to nibble on my earlobe for a while longer. Eventually, she did stop.

The haze of lust that surrounded us slowly disappeared, causing me to come down from my high. I still had an annoying stiff in my pants, but at least I was now able to talk.

"Deal." She chuckled deeply before placing a small kiss on my cheek. I grabbed onto her hips before she could move away from me. "But first we must seal it with a kiss on the lips.

Genie's POV

"Ah, Sex, the greatest weapon to ever be invented." Abril floated around lazily above me, her hands placed nonchalantly behind her head. I was currently lying down in a field of freezing snow. Even with my thick clothing, I could still feel the chill in my bones.

"That was so embarrassing!" I exclaimed loudly before turning onto my side and burying my face in my hands. "I can't believe you made me do that."

"Excuse a moi, but I didn't make you do anything. All I said was that there was a good chance Pitch would change his mind so it would be a good idea for you to seduce him, I didn't say for you to sit on his groin and almost make him cum his pants."

"Aaaahh, Abril shut up!" I grabbed onto a fistful of snow and threw it at her. She dodged with ease, giggling as she floated lower to be near my level.

"Alright alright, just because you asked nicely." Abril refused to sit down on the snow, mainly because she wasn't wearing something to keep her legs warm. "I'm starting to wish I took you up on that offer for a jacket." She started to rub her arms feverishly, hoping that the friction would warm her up a little.

"Told you so." I sat back up, shaking the snow out of my long hair. "So any idea of where we are?" We both looked to the left and then to the right; for miles, all you could see was snow.

"Not a clue, I was never good at geography."

"That sucks, neither was I. It must be early in the year though, for it to keep snowing like this." I brought up my bare hands to my mouth and heaved hot air onto them. Of all the things to forget, the stupid gloves.

"By the way, what's so special about this thing that we didn't want Pitch to find it?" Abril pulled out the locket Tooth had given me that night at the fireplace.

Originally, I had been carrying it in the back pocket of my jeans. While we had expected Pitch to give us the full rule and regulations talk, we hadn't expected him to step behind us. That's the moment that Abril did her dramatic 'I want tacos' speech and flailed her arms around me.

To Pitch, it was her just being stupid; to her, it was her last resort plan to get the locket and hide it before Pitch could find it. She knew how important it was that Pitch not see it, or else he would have taken it away.

"It's a special locket that North made for me. Tooth has one that's exactly the same." I grabbed onto the locket and examined it in my hands. "Only problem is that I've never used it before. But if I remember correctly, Tooth said all I have to do is open it."

"Well, what are you waiting for? Do it." Abril opted to float behind me and look over my shoulder. We both took a deep breath before I used one of my nails to open the small locket. Here goes nothing.

Tooth's POV

Needless to say, it's been a rough few months. Since Pitch knew exactly where we were and we had no more protection, we were all forced to abandon our homes. That included the yetis and my fairies.

North had told the yetis that they were free to go wherever they pleased. He would not keep them around if they were scared.

The ones that had survived the attack opted to stay with him.

Three of us were huddled around a small fire pit in the middle of a cold cave. Well, it was more like North and I were huddled together while Bunny cuddled into our sides, fast asleep. Across from us sat the yetis, my fairies were all buried in their fur, trying to keep themselves warm.

Since a majority of our powers were gone, we were all suffering with some kind of lose. Bunny had reverted back to his small rabbit form. North's booming voice was gone and he now had the mobility of an old man. I can no longer fly; and my once bright and colorful feathers were now dull and withering away.

The only bright side was that Sandy was now fully healed from his injuries. Since he was the only one at full capacity, he volunteered to stand guard over the cave. He was also the one that would often go out searching for anything edible.

"We can't give up." North whispered in order not to wake up Bunny.

"Does it sound bad that I already have?" I didn't bother to look at him as he talked. Instead, I continued to stare at the small flames from our fire.

"We will find them Tooth. I feel it….in my belly." With a strained grunt, North lifted his giant hand up to pat lightly on his stomach.

"It's been months, North. There's no sign whatsoever of Jack or Genie. I don't even want to think what that poor girl is going through with that monster." Never, in my 400 years of existence, have I referred to anybody as a monster.

Not even when Pitch had taken all the children's teeth and my fairies did I think that badly of him. I had always gone by my personal code of 'forgive and forget'. But now, just because I know what he wanted to do to Genie all along, I can't easily forgive nor could I forget.

I swear, if it's the last thing I do, I will find a way to save my friends.

I was suddenly pulled out of my thought by an annoying vibration on my side. Since Bunny was lying there, I'm assuming it's due to his snoring.

"Bunny, you're snoring again." I patted the top of his head lightly. His nose wiggled slightly, causing his whiskers to now tickle my side. He opened his small eyes and batted at his ears with his tiny paws.

" Brekkie time?" He let out a small yawn and stood to full height, stretching out his spine. "Where's the tucker-bag?"

"Not sure what we have left, my friend." North pulled out a medium sized bag that held all the rations we had left. Bunny leaped out of his little hiding place, landing right into the opening of the bag.

"Hopefully we have some vedgies left."

I went back to staring at the fire, silently praying for some kind of sign. But I admit, I'd be able to concentrate more if this annoying vibration in my side would go away.

Wait a minute, that wasn't caused by Bunny's snoring?

Reaching into my special hiding place on my side, I pulled out a small trinket that I had completely forgotten about. The matching locket to Genie's. And it was ringing!

I was shaking so bad from excitement that I had momentarily lost my grip of the locket, causing it to fall and roll towards the fire.

"No!" I jumped from my spot next to North, launching myself towards the locket before it could hit the flames.

Landing ungracefully on my belly, I was able to grab onto it in the nick of time. Wasting no more time, I opened it.

No words could describe the sheer amount of joy I felt from seeing Genie's face on the small screen in front of me.

"Genie!"

"Tooth, is that really you?!"

"Yes yes, yes it is!" In my excitement, I had completely forgotten that I wasn't alone; until I felt a huge body practically jump onto my back. Then something fluffy landed on top of my head. Apparently, Sandy had rushed in as well; but at least he was nice enough to not jump on me.

"Sandy, you're awake."

Sandy nodded and began communicating his way, with all the images of gold sand over his head. At first, he told Genie how glad he was that she's ok. Then spent the next 5 minutes scolding her for doing what she did; with her apologizing after every sentence.

"I know….I know…But…it was the only…Sandy, please don't be mad."

"Hey, is somebody giving you a hard time? Give me the damn locket; I'll take care of this."

"Abril, No, give that back!"

The screen moved and blurred for a few seconds until it landed on a new face. As embarrassing as it is to say, I didn't recognize this girl at all. I could tell she was an immortal but that was it. North, on the other hand, knew who it was.

"Abril, Pitch took you too?" He asked her.

"Took me? As if, I chose to go on my own. Yeah, long story, save for another time. Now where was I….Oh yeah. You, little gold dude. You giving my girl a hard time? She said she was sorry. Accept it and move on. We've got more important matters to deal with. Such as we're running low on time and Pitch might call us back any second now."

"The shiela's right." Bunny pounded the top of my head with his foot. I don't know why he was doing it to me, since Sandy was the one giving Genie and Abril a hard time.

"Holy shit!"

"What? Is it Pitch?!" Bunny and I yelled out loud.

"That has got to be the cutest bunny I've ever seen in my entire life. He's so fluffy. Genie, look how fluffy he is"

Abril pulled Genie back into the screen; both of them were now starring at Bunny.

"I've never seen that rabbit before."

"Oh, that hurt. Genie, it's me!" Bunny jumped down from my head, finally! He now stood fully in front of the screen, his hands on his hips.

"Wait a minute….Bunny, what the hell happened to you? You use to be super tall and now you're….short"

"This is what happens when the believing is gone. Never thought I'd say this but I really miss all the little ankle biters."

"Wait, the bunny's name is bunny?"

"No, that's just a nickname. His full name is E. Aster Bunnymund."

"E. Aster?...as in easter?! Easter Bunnymund?! Oh sure, even the bunny gets a cooler name than me. This is so not fair!"

"Complain later, Abril. You need to keep a lookout. I'll try to make this fast."

"Aye aye, captain. See you later, you cute little bunny."

We waited for Abril to move away from the screen before continuing our conversation with Genie.

"Anyway, back to the reason I called you guys…"

"Sweetie, why couldn't you call us sooner?" The question had been nagging me for some time now. I had given her this locket in order to prevent something like this happening.

"I couldn't. Pitch pretty much has me under 24/7 watch. If he's not with me, then something else is watching. You ever heard of the saying 'the walls have ears'? I swear, mine do."

"Well, what about Jack?"

"I haven't physically seen him. But Abril tells me he's ok. Oh shit, Abril's giving me the signal, I don't have much time. North, you're the one that made this locket, right?"

"That I did." He answered proudly.

"Is there any way you can track the location of the locket?"

"Only when on, can I do it."

"Awesome, so here's the short plan. I'm going to leave it near the hideout entrance, letting you track where we are; but you guys are going to have to be fast. From what I heard, Pitch doesn't like to stay in one place for too long. And I have no idea how long we've been here."

"Good thing sleigh still works." North stood up and headed towards the back of the cave, where he had kept his sleigh stored.

"Tooth, I'm gonna have to turn this off for now. But just keep waiting for the signal, ok?"

"I will." With that, she ended out call by closing the locket. I did the same, but I continue to stare intensely as the locket, waiting for it to ring once more.

"Yetis, Elves, Fairies, everyone pack off. We taking off!"

Genie's POV

"Get away from me, you damn leprechaun!" I'm not sure if Abril is yelling loudly to warn me or if Liam is really starting to annoy her. It's probably both. Either way, it gave me a chance to stuff the locket back into the back pocket of my jeans.

I could hear them getting closer to me. To make it look like I actually had fun, I rolled around a bit in the snow to make some indentations. Then I lay fully on my back and proceeded to make a snow angel.

"I swear my love; I didn't come out here to annoy you." Liam had to jog in order to keep up with Abril's flying. Even from this distance, I could tell she was fuming. It almost looked like she had smoke floating out of her ears, that's how angry she was.

"First, I am not your love. Second, why are you out here?" She already knew the answer to it, we all did. But both Abril and I had to play stupid for now.

"Pitch wants Genie back, says you guys have been out long enough." I turned over in the snow, huge chunks of it was now caught in my hair.

"We haven't been out that long." I knew there was no point in arguing but that never stopped me before. "Can't I have at least 5 more minutes?"

"My apologies, your Highness, but it's not up to me." I gave out an exasperated sigh before standing up fully. I didn't even bother shaking off the flakes; it was going to melt eventually.

Liam walked ahead of Abril and me, leading us back to the hideout. Along the way, I kept looking around, trying to find a good place to hide the locket. A nice shrub or even a giant rock would work well, but there didn't seem to be any in sight.

I started to nibble on my bottom lip, an act caused by my anxiety. We were getting closer to the entrance of the hideout. It was pretty much just a giant hole in the ground; but it was very well hidden, especially to the naked eye.

I was getting closer to losing my chance. I looked over at Abril, mentally yelling and begging her to cause some kind of distraction.

By some miracle, she actually understood what I was thinking.

"Liam, look!" She rushed forward, placing her hand on Liam's shoulder. I could see his body jump from the shock of her touch. "Is that Hal taking your pot of gold?!"

Liam quickly got over his shock from Abril touching him. In seconds, he took off running towards the horizon, passing the hideout in the process.

"He's doing what?! Hal, bring that back!" He yelled out at nothing.

"You have 5 seconds at the most." Abril informed me.

Since there was no tree or rock around, I went with plan C. I knelt down onto the snow and dug a small hole. I brought out the locket from my pocket and opened it before dropping it into the small hole.

"Did I hear somebody call my name?" Hal stuck his head out of the opening of the hideout. Quickly thinking, I slide forward on the snow, moving some to cover up the hole before he could see it.

"My queen, my queen, are you alright?" Abril knelt down next to me, her face moving close to mine. "Play along." We both whispered in unison.

"Oh no, what happened? Pitch, get up here now!" Hal jumped up out of the hole and rushed over to the two of us. I rolled over onto my back, bending one of my legs up towards my chest. When it was close enough, I reached with my right hand to hold onto my ankle.

"My ankle, I think I twisted it!" I let out fake cries of pain; my eyes were shut super tight. I was trying to get crocodile tears to come out.

"Genie!" I opened my slightly watery eyes to see Pitch kneeling over me. He had pushed Hal out of the way in the process. One of his arms dipped down beneath the snow to wrap around my shoulders and pulled me up into a sitting position. His other hand went to grab onto my ankle.

"No, don't touch it." I hissed as a single fingertip grazed the skin. My acting must really be on point today.

His eyes narrowed as he looked up at Abril.

"You have got 10 seconds to explain what happened." He growled through his teeth at her.

"She got shocked. You know how she hates things popping out at her. Well, Hal popping out of the hole like a damn weasel scared her, causing her to slip in the snow."

Oh man, that was a great excuse Abril! I mentally cheered her on.

"I only popped out cause I heard my name." Hal quickly tried to explain himself; he held hands up in surrender.

"There you are!" All of their heads turned towards Liam, who was running back at full force towards the group. When he saw that Pitch was there, he slowed down significantly until he stopped right in front of Hal. "Where is my gold?"

"What?" Hal scratched the top of his head in confusion.

"You heard me, where did you take it?" Liam poked Hal in the chest.

"I didn't take anything." Hal pushed Liam away.

"Liar."

"Do you see anything in my hands?"

"Silence!" Pitch yelled out in complete anger. Sand began pouring out of him; it moved to surround us all, swirling around making a makeshift tornado. "Take care of your petty arguments later. For now, all of you get out of my sight."

None of them needed to be told twice. All three rushed through the entrance, Abril pushing past the arguing males. She wanted to get far away from Pitch, I don't blame her. I wish I could run but I am faking an injury.

"Let's get you inside." Pitch turned his attention back to me, the malice in his voice now gone. Being as gentle as possible, He picked me up into his arms, cradling me in his chest.

"Please don't be…"

"Hush for now." He cooed in my ear. Neither of us spoke as he carried me back to the room, he even completely ignored the looks from his nightmares and night terrors.

Once again, I was back in my boring room. I mentally groaned as I took in my familiar surroundings.

But it was then I noticed something different that stood out amongst the gray. On my nightstand by the bed, was a vase full of red roses.

"What the…" Pitch laid me down on my side of the bed, noticing that I couldn't stop looking at the roses.

"They are for you." He informed me.

"But…"

"Move closer to the center, I don't want you to fall off the bed again." He chuckled to himself. Having to carry on my charade, I used both my arms and my one 'good' leg to lift myself up and move to the center, just as he requested.

He grabbed onto one of the spare pillows that was still on the floor.

"I admit, I was hoping to have some fun with you when you got back, but I don't think we'll be doing that now." He moved towards the foot of the bed before climbing on. He placed the pillow to the side for now, his fingers working on the laces of my shoe.

"Pitch…"

"I'll be gentle, don't worry." He loosened all the laces before gently lifting my foot to remove the shoe. He threw it in some random part of the room before removing my sock also. "Well, it doesn't look swollen, but it's better to be safe than sorry."

He lifted my leg even further until the pillow was placed perfectly under it. I watched in disbelief as he lowered my leg onto the pillow. Was Pitch Black, the Nightmare King, being nice and gentle?

"Is that ok? Do you need another cushion?"

"Ok, what the hell is going on? Who are you and what have you done with Pitch?!" I screamed out at him.

"What do you mean?" He was working to remove my other shoe and sock.

"You're normally never this nice nor are you ever gentle with me. And you've certainly never given me flowers before."

"I actually got the idea from Liam, as he's always giving bouquets to Abril." He had successfully removed my other shoe and sock.

"But that's Liam. You've never done it. So why now?"

He sat at the end of the bed for a while, pondering on what to say to me next. He and I continued to stare at each other for those few minutes. Well, I tried to stare the best way I could. It was kind of hard to do when he was sitting so far and I was lying down.

"Have I ever told you how much I love your eyes?" He scooted closer towards the middle of the bed, reaching over to the vase to pull out a single rose. It seemed he wanted to change the direction of our discussion. I was too tired to argue so I just went along with it.

"Yes. But I don't see why. They're nothing special; over 50% of the world population has brown eyes."

"Do you need me to tell you why they are special to me?" He placed the rose right next to my face, letting the petals slide across my cheek. "Since no one is able to see me, I've been alone for so long. I would pass through crowds of mortals, going completely unnoticed. It's not that different in the immortal realm. Yes, I have Liam and Hal but that was it. And then, one crazy night, I met you."

I remember that night also, that was the night he was going to kill my little brother. He better have a good point in all this to keep me in a decent mood.

"At first, I just saw a pretty girl asleep. I thought you were the most precious thing I'd ever seen. I had no idea at the time how true that statement would be. You were the first person in so long to not only be able to see me but to touch me. As corny as this will sound to you, it was magical for me."

He leaned closer down to me, our faces nearly touching.

"So no, your eyes are not ordinary, like everybody else. To me, they are special. They gave me a view through a window of hope. Hope that I had finally found somebody to be with me, so that I wouldn't be lonely anymore."

I closed my eyes, not wanting to look at his any longer. The longer I looked into them, the more I could feel his raw emotion spilling out. This was getting far too deep for me, and all because I asked him why he decided to give me flowers.

He had such an uncanny way of making me feel sorry for him.

He took the opportunity to kiss both my eyelids, one at a time. When he saw that I wouldn't open then, he continued to kiss random parts of my face. But he was avoiding one area, my lips.

"These eyes belong to the most precious being in the world. The most precious being to me, the love of my life. My beautiful Genie, the answer to all my wishes."

He then placed a subtle kiss on my lips, letting it linger there for some time.

No, this is so not right! I am not about to experience Stockholm's syndrome. I will not fall for my captor, at all. Pitch is the bad guy. So he's had a rough few years, who hasn't? What he's doing isn't right.

But it was all caused by one factor, he was alone. It started to make me wonder what would have happened if he was accepted by his fellow immortals. Would he still be the kind of man he is now?

This kind of responsibility is too much for anybody to bare. I can't be the one fully liable for his happiness. It's hard to make somebody happy when you yourself aren't happy.

But I have to admit, despite him keeping me locked up, he has taken good care of me. He gets me food and water, got me a huge bed to sleep in, and got me a lot of books. He did think about my needs.

Ok, brain, stop thinking of redeeming factors about Pitch. Going back and forth between good and bad is making me feel a little dizzy.

Well shit, my stupid brain just made me realize that I do have a bit of feelings for Pitch Black. Even if a majority of that feeling is pity, it's still something.

"Genie…Please look at me as I tell you this." Hesitantly, I reopened my eyes. He was still leaning very close to my face, but he at least stopped kissing me. "I know I must have said it a thousand times but I want to say it again, looking into your eyes. Genie, my precious wish, I love you."

My eyes widened and my mouth dropped open fully, I could feel it going dry from breathing in the air. What's shocking also is that Pitch did not take advantage of me in this state.

Instead, he was waiting for me. Waiting for me to say 4 simple yet strong words: I love you too.

Problem is I don't know if I can bring myself to say it.

"Pitch…I…"

"You can't say it back, can you?" I hesitated with my answer; he was not going to be happy with it.

"No. I can't." I shut my eyes again, expecting him to get angry. I waited for him to get off me, to grab onto things and throw them around. Waited for him to storm out of the room and leave me to myself.

But he never did. I opened one of my eyes slowly, only to see him still leaning over me; and he was smirking.

"Then I must make myself worthy enough for you to say it." That was all he said about the matter. He rolled off of me to lay by my side. He opted not to pull me towards him, probably scared to 'hurt' my ankle further.

This time, he simply laid his head on my chest.

I suddenly found myself mentally exhausted from that conversation. I took in a deep breath before closing my eyes to let myself fall into a deep sleep.

"Oh, and to set the record straight, I did try to give you a flower once but you didn't accept it."

And that's the end of this chapter. Are you guys as confused as Genie is? Because I sure am. And I'm the writer. Lol.
