Carlisle parked out the front of the house and squeezed Bella's hand softly "Let's head inside and talk Bella" Carlisle muttered softly. Bella smiled gently and climbed out of the car and grabbed her bag from the back seat. They walked in silence as they made their way into the loungeroom. Bella sat awkwardly on the couch, this was it, Carlisle would never want to see her again, he regretted what they had done, god she had slept with her boyfriend's father, worse than that Carlisle was married, she had destroyed a marriage. Carlisle noticed the sudden panic on Bella's face and rushed to her side.
"Bella look at me, breath" he whispered softly as he stroked her face softly.
Bella looked up at Carlisle sadly "I'm so sorry Carlisle I ruined everything, Esme is going to hate me, they all are" Bella muttered softly as she pulled away from Carlisle. Carlisle let out a deep breath and sat next to her "Bella we need to talk, please just hear me out ok" Carlisle asked softly, Bella nodded but couldn't meet his eyes.
"Bella firstly I don't regret what we did tonight, not for one second, so please don't think that I do. Secondly, Esme and I are not married and we have no romantic feelings for each other, it is part of our "Family" look, Esme and I are great friends that is all and thirdly I have been mesmerized by you since the moment you came into the ER, but I sat back because of Edward's feelings towards you and honestly I never thought in a hundred years that you would ever see me in a romantic way, but Bella, you are one of the most beautiful women I have ever laid eyes on and I want to spend the rest of my existance making you happy, Bella, I want to be with you" Carlisle stated happily. Bella sat stunned as she thought over Carlisle's words, he wasn't mad at her and he didn't regret that they slept together. The fact that Carlisle and Esme weren't together eased Bella's guilt a lot and she had already decided to end things with Edward when he returned.
"Carlisle I don't know what to say, this is crazy, we cant be together that would destroy everything, especially your family" Bella stated.
"Bella, I love my family and I would hope that they would support my choices like I have always supported there's, Edward, of course, will be a tough situation, but Bella, you make me feel alive, I have waited my whole life to find someone who makes me feel the way you do, your so smart, caring, beautiful and you don't see the monster in me, I meant what I said Bella, I have thought about being with you for a long time, all that I ask is that you take some time and think about us, what we could be, if you could see yourself happy with me?" Carlisle whispered out as he squeezed Bella's hands softly.
"Carlisle I don't need time to think about if I could be happy with you, I know that I would be, you have always made me feel like anything is possible, you give me so much confidence and you always have so much faith in me. I am 100% sure that if we went down that road I would be happy for the rest of my life with you, but that isn't the issue, forget about Edward, Esme and what the rest of the family would think, think about how much this would change everything, my father for one, your work, I don't know if any good can come from this?" Bella stated sadly.
Carlise wrapped his arms around Bella tightly and kissed her head softly "I never said it would be easy Bella, but isn't that a part of life? nothing worth doing is ever easy.".
"How about tonight you just hold me, give me the weekend, let's just enjoy the weekend together, I need to end things with Edward before we decide on anything, ok" Bella smiled softly at Carlisle and kissed his lips softly. He nodded happily "I could hold you forever and it still wouldn't be long enough, my Bella" he murmured as he placed soft kisses on her forehead making her smile, she felt so content in his arms, it made it harder to not wrap herself up in him. Carlisle grabbed the remote for the tv and flicked through the channels until he found Parks and Recreation, Bella smiled up at him "How did you know?" she chuckled out. Carlisle loved the sound of her laugh "I know it's a guilty pleasure of your's, Emmett see's himself as our very own Andy Dwyer" Carlisle chuckled at the thought. Bella rolled her eyes, actually, Emmett was surprisingly like the character on the show, she hadn't really thought about that before.
Bella sat comfortably in Carlisle's arms as they watched tv, they felt just like a normal couple, minus the age difference, of course, Bella could see herself getting very used to this, being snuggled up with him every night, it wasn't a horrible picture to envision. Bella began to doze off, suddenly she was being wrapped up in Carlisle's arms and being carried up the stairs.
"I can walk Carlisle" she muttered out softly, pulling a deep chuckle from Carlisle.
"I'm well aware you can walk Bella, but I am enjoying carrying you, besides I don't think you could make it all the way upstairs without tripping over" he stated lovingly, making Bella huff as she snuggled into his chest more. Carlisle opened the door to his office and laid Bella down on to the round large day bed. Bella sat up and looked around the room, the large bed didn't match the rest of the furnishings in his office, before Bella opened her mouth, he answered her question.
"I got this daybed not long after I met you, the balcony overlooks a lovely view from up here, so Alice bought me this big, round bed, so when I want to read outside I can pull the bed out to the balcony and lay and enjoy the view, I never thought it would get much use, but I do use it a lot and I am even more grateful it is here now" he chuckled as he grabbed a blanket out of the large cupboard near his desk and gently laid it ontop of her.
"I'm very happy it's here too, it's huge, I'd love to sit on it outside one day" she declared happily. Carlisle smiled and kissed her softly "another time my dear, sleep now my Bella".
Within minutes Bella's heavy breathing filled the room, while Carlisle sat at his desk attempting to read a medical journal, but he couldn't stop reading the same paragraph over and over, he couldn't keep his eyes off Bella, she was here finally and he wanted to remember this moment. If he was honest with himself he was just as worried as Bella was, when it came to the possibility of them being together, she was right, if they went down this road, it wouldn't be an easy one, Charlie would be difficult and not to mention Edward and the rest of his children, but Carlisle was just like Bella, self-sacrificing, he did everything for his loved ones, but this is something he wanted and he didn't want to sacrifice himself anymore. Before Carlisle could over analyze the situation further his phone buzzed, he reached for the phone and smiled when he saw it was Alice.

Carlisle smiled, Alice, perfect timing as always. He looked over at Bella and smiled to himself, he put his book down and headed over to Bella, he pulled his shirt off and slipped in behind her, wrapping his arms around her tightly, she smelt like fresh air. Bella molded perfectly into his arms. He laid there content listening to the sound of Bella's heartbeat, waiting for her to rise again.
