Chapter 10
#Miyu's Part
The first bus of the day. Only a few people.
Miyu sitting on the window was thinking about herself, the early breezes of dawn shivering her body.
I'm not feeling to go back home.
Something got over her depressed mind. She stood up and walked to the door.
"I want to go down."
"Are you sure?" the driver seemed worried, "This is not a place many people stop by." With that, he looked at her, "Oh, so you are one of those bird watchers? Well then-"
The bus stopped. Miyu stepped down. Walking like a dream sequence she sat on the retaining wall nearby. The valley goes down steep from here. Hills rising from the other side are not that steep though. There is a small road going up to it. May be private properties; or just as the driver said, bird watch. Huh.
With nobody around except the shivering wind whistle and crisping birds, Miyu tried to calm down, only to cause her a deeper sadness. She was wrong that being alone would make her okay.
She put her hands in her jeans, and looked around. She colud see the bus going on other curves, circling down the hill.
Hey, is it going fast?
Too fast?
Before her eyes could get widened, it lost control, and the cruel centripetal force..
Miyu saw it, the bus, going down, down, burn.. sound..
She collapsed on the road overwhelmed.
A big car passed by.
"Any problem, miss? "
Miyu looked up with mad eyes. A solemn man driving, and the asker seems to be a priest from that attire.
"That.. bus.." Miyu pointed her feeble fingers.
They jumped down, and looked, "My God.." the man driving seemed younger, asked, "Did you call police?"
Miyu remembered putting her phone switched off while leaving, and..
"I left it charging on the bus!" suddenly she remembered.
Both of them looked at her astonished. No young woman forgets phone, in sanity.
"I.. I..I am tellung the truth! " Her voice broke, "I just got down here, and..watched it burn! Right from here!" She got teary again.
The old priest like man came up and got hold of her shoulder, "Hey, don't cry, dear.. Bob, call the police."
The driving man named Bob went towards the car. The priest helped Miyu to get up.
"Come with us."
Miyu did not protest. With a heavy and throbbing heart she got in.
The car started. With a vision again of the burning bus, She begins to weep.
She now had a strange sensation.
"There, there girl, don't cry.." the priest comforted her, gently embracing her like a child.
"It's all because of me!" she started to murmur, "I always thought it was my bad luck. No, it's me who put people in bad luck. Mom..Dad.. Kanata.. the whole bus.. everyone who get in contact with me, get doomed! It is me who is the evil, all the time!"
The priest and Bob exchanged a quick glance. Then the priest looked at Miyu again, "Do you have a confession for God, dear? You can be frank to the ultimate."
Miyu only needed that much push. Like a suddenly opened valve she flooded with all her emotions. From parents' demise to Kanata's memory. The two persons listened with eagerness.
As she finished, Miyu felt much relieved. Tears soaked her T-shirt completely, she didn't realize.
"Will you come with me?" The priest asked softly.
Miyu looked up and blinked, blankly.
"Dear, it is not how you think it to be." The priest caressed her hair, "You could not keep your earthly relations because you are the other one, not among those people living and dying with bonds. This world has freed you from all bonds. All relations. We are free. And we live to serve, you live to serve." his eyes sparkled, "Come join with us. Embrace your new life."
Miyu could not understand it all, but she felt too convinced with her weak will. She remained silent.
The car stopped somewhere, Miyu realised this is not the way of town. Maybe one of those roads towards private properties.
A young girl, in complete white attire, came and opened the door. Miyu looked at her, she was expressionless in her eyes.
She looked around quickly. A huge area surrounded by massive walls. Two or three girls she saw working all in white. Everything is quiet around. With the two persons by side, she headed to the building.
A graceful blonde, short haired woman welcomed her, 'my, my, this is our new piece of moon? What's your name, dear? "
Miyu felt even better with presence of this old loving woman. "Miyu Kozuki" she bowed.
The woman lifted Miyu's chin with her finger, and kissed her forehead. Miyu got a bit blushed.
"What a cute girl you are", she smiled, "My name is Izuki, I am on training".
"Izuki, I think our new member is starving." The priest said.
"Is it so?" Izuki looked at Miyu again. Miyu blushed again, "Well I- when I-"
"..When you ran away? They all have the same story, running away from life" Izuki smiled again, "And now they are learning what their life actually is meant for.. come with me, I'll give you breakfast."
Miyu could understand those girls working here had some past like her only. She is not the only one in this world. May be, this is the life she was meant for. No expectations. She tried to eat, but could not swallow much. Finishing the juice she just felt sleepy. All the days of tension.. she just needed to sleep.
'My, my, you seem so exhausted" the woman came forward, and carried her through some long hall to a room.
Miyu collapsed on the bed with dazed head.
And when she woke up she found herself completely naked.
Nowhere the clothes.
Panicked, she ran towards the door wrapping the bedsheet, just when the door opened by itself.
The same graceful woman, the same priest.
"Miss Izuki.. I.."
"I told you, your new life is starting. And I am on training you." she smiled the same.
"And I told, you live to serve." a not so holy grin on the 'priest's ' face.
