Hi, everyone! I'm sorry I haven't been writing much lately. Sometimes I go through writer's block, but I will try to update more often with my other stories! So this update means I'm still around!
Ash was determined to beat Lt. Surge, but technically, wouldn't using Mew be cheating? He thought about that and figured that if he was lucky enough to come across Mew in the first place, it must not be cheating. Maybe. He didn't know, but what he did know was that he had his eyes on the Thunder Badge and couldn't wait to claim it as his own.
Ash took out his PokeDex and began to look through the moves that Dugtrio could use. He didn't know how powerful Mew would be, so he decided to use some of the basic ground-type moves that would defeat the others easily.
The gang went back to the gym and Ash stared down at Lt. Surge and said, "I demand a rematch! And this time, things will be different!"
Lt. Surge began to laugh at Ash's remark. "You seem confident this time, baby! Okay, but only because you insist." He took the Pokeball off his hip and threw it so fast that you could've sworn that it would leave a trail of fire from the incredible velocity. Out of the Pokeball came Raichu who looked super pumped to fight and decimate the Pokemon Ash chose. At least, that's what he thought.
Ash chuckled as he saw the choice that Lt. Surge selected. Ash knew that this would more than likely be easy since Mew...uh, Dugtrio was a ground type. "Alright, it's time for me to use my new Pokemon. Go! Dugtrio!"
Lt. Surge gritted his teeth in frustration as he saw the ground-type Pokemon appear. Great. Electric moves were the primary types that Raichu knew, so this meant he had to approach things differently now.
"Raichu, use mega punch!" ordered Lt. Surge. With one swift punch, he knew he could totally defeat Dugtrio.
"Alright, M-Dugtrio, go underground and use dig!" ordered Ash. Before Raichu attacked "Dugtrio" with a powerful punch, Dugtrio buried underground, avoiding the attack completely.
"Watch out, Raichu, Dugtrio could be-" began Lt. Surge, but before he could finish his sentence, Dugtrio came back to the surface and hit Raichu with the powerful attack, causing the electric Pokemon to fly towards the ceiling since it was so powerful. Raichu fell to the ground in defeat.
"UNBELIEVABLE!" shouted Lt. Surge as he had both hands on the side of his face and was furious and stunned at the same time. "You can't be serious! Just one dig attack was it that it took?"
Ash was equally as perplexed. Mew was more powerful than he imagined. "I-I won?" he said.
"YEAH!" said Lt. Surge as he threw the Thunder Badge and ran out of the gym so upset. The two grunts who stood by Surge ran after him. When the area was clear, Mew reverted back to her original form and giggled.
"That was fun!" She picked up the badge that had fallen to the ground after it hit Ash and gave to him.
"Uh, thanks," said Ash as he was slightly unnerved. He knew that Mew would be a real challenge.
