Dispatch
"Ha ha, pirates!" Laughed Selbone merrily as he walked up towards them, not even bothering to step over the bodies of his fallen comrades. His feet squishing on top of their very much still alive bodies. "I would feel sorry for you for having to face someone of my caliber, but you are pirates and words of kindness would be wasted on you."
"Selbone didn't mean to throw that guy out of his way did he? It was just joke!" shouted one of the Marines as he looked around at the rest of them nervously. Obviously trying his best to maintain Selbone's reputation, which the guy himself didn't seem to care about. "Right, Selbone?"
"Right, right, right," Selbone stated, obviously fed up with the PR department aboard the ship as he shrugged off the man's effort and groaned, "I guess my hand must've slipped on me."
"It doesn't matter if it was on purpose or accident!" shouted one of the Marines. "As long as he takes care of these pirates nobody cares! Selbone finish these pirates off and show them a handful of justice."
"Finally someone within the Marines with real spunk," Selbone stated kindly as he lowered himself down. He crouched down and placed one hand on the ground. "Remind me to ask what your name is when I'm through with this trash. Not like I'll bother to remember it. Only those who can handle pirates such as these are worthy of me remembering their names."
He paused for a second as he double checked the skin-tight rubber jumpsuit he was wearing as he eyed his opponent up. He recognized the picture as well as he remembered the names from the cries for help.
'Kid Coyote'. This was going to be so easy. He recalled his name and stats. The guy was labeled as all speed, no power or real endurance. A good hit could end this in one go.
"This is Vice Admiral Selbone!" shouted one of the Marines with a wide smile, "he's got an incredible Devil Fruit! The Jump-Jump Fruit!"
"Jump?" asked Mikoto as he looked over at Admiral. "Oh! Jump! Like teleport, right? Like you just suddenly jump from one place to another!" Mikoto smiled widely. Mikoto was fast, but no matter how fast he was, instantaneous teleportation was faster. This was going to be faster.
"Don't think that is like that at all!" Selbone was upfront and honest about it. "Jump as in jump! I can leap over buildings in a single bound! I can jump faster than any normal man. As matter of fact while I'm jumping my speed increases to something faster than a bullet!"
"Oh, okay," Mikoto sighed, "Hey, Zesiro do you want to fight this guy? I'm no longer really in the mood."
"You can't just pass him off to me cause he has a lame ability," Zesiro shouted as he blocked another amateurish sword swipe, before recoiling his two swords to his side and firing dual thrusts. When he ripped them free, he spun around and knocked another Marine down.
"Oh, come on!" Mikoto moaned, "you're a member of my crew and I'm the captain! So I say you take on the guy with the lame power."
"That's the lamest use of your captain's position," Zesiro stated straightly. "I refuse."
"Fine, hey, Skintight Jumpsuit Guy," brought up Mikoto as he turned back to Selbone, who was beginning to fume thanks to their little conversation about him. "Me and my crew have decided. Since none of us want to fight you can you please go somewhere else?"
"WHAT!?" shouted Selbone, "you pirates don't get to tell me what to do? And my power is not lame! I'm going to finish you off here and now!" Selbone tightened his leg muscles as he looked down the line and lined himself up with Mikoto. A single quick burst with all of his strength gathering.
"Say hello to one of my most powerful techniques, Human Missile!" Selbone launched himself out at Mikoto. He wasn't lying about his speed, he really did pick-up his speed. It was an incredible burst of power and speed right at him. It really was like a bullet, except sized several times out. It was a missile without a doubt.
Mikoto stepped right to the side without missing a beat, trying to dodge the blast. He managed to avoid the attack by more than a hair and he didn't seem worried either as he set his foot down on the ground. Selbone was a few feet away when he finally managed to stop with a massive swing of his arm, apparently intending to sever Mikoto with this mighty tackle.
"He's bleeding!" shouted one of the Marines as Selbone lifted his body the rest of the way up and a few drops of blood appeared beneath his nose. He wiped them off in a hurry before taking up the same position as before.
Mikoto eagerly stepped back and waved his hand about, apparently getting in the mood now after seeing his power wasn't quite as lame as he had been expecting. However, the proposed 'speed of a bullet' may have been an overstatement. When Selbone rocketed at him, Mikoto found himself with no problem of locking on and firing a single punch before taking his distance, hence Selbone's bloody nose.
"You brat!" swore Selbone swinging himself around and once more lining himself up with him, "I'm going to show you what it feels like to be smashed to bits from a height only achievable with my Jump-Jump fruit!" Selbone rocketed forward towards Mikoto.
"Going up," Mikoto chuckled as his Haki hinted at what Selbone was intending to do.
Selbone stopped short just in front of Mikoto and then launched himself into a monstrous bear hug while at the same time preparing to leap. Without wasting a second Selbone latched onto Mikoto's body, trying to pin his arms and launched himself into the air.
But only himself. Right before Selbone's arms finished their job of latching onto Mikoto, Mikoto shifted into his much smaller full coyote form and was much lower than Selbone's intended place to grab onto. So now Selbone, all by his lonesome, was rocketing into the sky. However, that only lasted for a few yards before Selbone twisted himself around to correct his mistake.
"Hah ha!" Selbone laughed, "thanks to the Jump-Jump Fruit even my Rokushiki powers are unmatched. Say hello to Geppou!" Selbone rocketed himself off once more using his midair jump and incredible speed to send himself crashing towards Mikoto.
"After-Image."
A huge crash followed the two's brief clash as Selbone slammed into nothing, but the ship. Mikoto had pedaled backwards, creating a brief ghost of himself in his previous position leaving Selbone with nothing but hard wooden boards. Once more though Selbone had proven the power of his Jump-Jump Fruit as he had crashed through the first two floors and had only stopped upon the third.
"OPEN FIRE MEN!" shouted Selbone from three stories below, his entire body battered and bruised with a couple of teeth missing and lying on the floorboards besides him, "finish these four off with our superior numbers!"
"Yeah," Mikoto joked as he came down from above. He took it easy, rather than crashing through like his opponent, he just jumped down one floorboard at a time. "You're the only one still conscious. Although I guess that makes this like some sort of achievement." Mikoto began doing a windmill with one of his arms, spinning it around at his side. "Here's your prize!"
It was a sudden lurching motion as Mikoto's fist shot forward, burying itself directly into Selbone's face and burying him deeper into the floorboards of the trust-worthy ship. His face only continuing to get worse and worse.
"You're a little bit too brazen," muttered Selbone as he looked up at Mikoto, "too foolish to think that just cause you beat me you'll live a little longer. The Marines are preparing now once and for all to take over everything! The Revolutionary army will falter and you pirates will be soon to follow. We have the numbers advantage! We have the organization!"
"We have a dual wielding shark-human hybrid, a super doctor that can control his bones, a man who can make explosives out of anything, a cyborg, someone who can control air pressure, Ridley, and me, the future King of the Pirates," Mikoto stated smiling as he got up, rather surprised that Selbone still felt like he had the right to talk about how the Marines will destroy them. "I think we're going to be okay.
"Oh, and we are also on our way to recruit a samurai!" Mikoto stated happily.
"He name is Victoria Shogun," reminded Enma, "its just her name, she's not a samurai."
"Well, she's wasting a name like that if she's deciding not to become a samurai."
The Vice Admiral simply scowled at Mikoto before swearing him off, "Get out of my sight you lumpy piece of maggot crap!"
"Well," Mikoto stated as he looked around a bit nervously, "This is awkward. We kind of plan to sink this ship. We need to get past you guys and get into the Jetstream Junction place and this ship is blocking the way. Now we don't have to save anybody as a matter of fact we shouldn't. But we did attack first and we do have consciences, so last chance to be saved by a pirate?"
"SCREW YOU," growled Selbone, deciding to stick to his life long creed of hating pirates. "You and the rest of your pirate-y pieces of crap should just get smashed into the rocks. I'm a Marine, not an old man. I can get out on my own! And even if I couldn't I wouldn't accept help from your kind!"
"A good captain goes down with his ship," Mikoto quoted as he got up and left.
A few Marines accepted the helping hands of the crew, but ultimately there was still a lot left on the ship. A couple of doctors/engineers/people who didn't get the crap beat out of them had come from the other ships and were picking up the defeated Marines.
"We can't wait forever captain," Ridley reminded Mikoto. They were kind of on a tight schedule. While it may not sit well in any of their stomachs to blow up a group of people who had all, but surrendered they were pirates out on a mission and they were blocking their way.
"We still need a sniper," muttered Rosa as she stepped back on the ship, clearly probably the most upset with this, while Enma had accepted it as a necessary evil and Ridley was practically giddy. What she said was true. The crew lacked one really fundamental member and that was somebody who was good with a gun.
"Its like two feet away from us," stated Ridley as he adjusted the cannon for straight ahead. He was exaggerating, of course, the ship was more than a couple of good yards away. But still his point stood. If they missed then they really shouldn't have cannons on their ship period.
They announced their intentions to blow up the ship, gave everybody a twenty second period to get off of the ship as well. Before they finally decided to blow a crater sized hole in it. The ship's new rubble was soon swept away with the current, smashing it against the rocks, which spelled certain doom for any unwary travelers.
"Are you sure you can do this?" asked Mikoto turning back to Zesiro who was already taking control of the ship.
"I can already done read these currents like the back of my hand," Zesiro stated cheerfully as he sailed forward. "I'd be more worried about what's going to happen when we get to the other side. We're going to see a Yonkou remember? And it will be up to you to talk her into joining our side."
(-With Selbone-)
As badly beaten as Selbone was he was still hanging in there, right before he had been washed away by the current he had gathered enough strength to leap into the air and land on a nearby rock. He didn't waste any time calling the Marine Headquarters. "Boss!" he shouted into the tiny Den-Den Mushi.
"I have encountered the pirates known as the Infinity Pirates. I have overheard a conversation being made by two of them. It seems they are on the way to combine their forces with the Yonkou, Victoria Shogun."
"Thank you sir, we will dispatch our Shichibukais there immediately," responded the gruff voice from the other side.
Preparation for The Yonkou
