A Wish For Chaos
"I'm still not doing well," Mikoto stated as he lifted his leg up and gave it a bit of a shake. He had managed to make it all the way over to the mountain. He was getting a little tired from the running around, but he had been doing quite well if he was allowed to say so himself. It was tough and there was a small amount of pressure in his legs, but he was still growing stronger. It was just one day.
Mikoto tightened his fists as he strode with no worries up the mountain. Ahead of him was the perilous terror that he couldn't believe even existed in this world. A wall that he may not be able to climb. He knew the odds were stacked against him, not every one was talented enough to learn Haki and master them without problems. Mikoto was quite a ways away from that. He was still learning though.
A tensing up within his body as he headed up the mountain in search of Zesiro, without a doubt his swordsman was definitely starting to fight more and more enemies. This probably meant a fair share of Haki users. Mikoto was beginning to question whether or not he could make it up this mountain.
As he thought about it he actually never went to the top of the mountain during his entire stay here. It was just a little bit more out of the way then he would've liked besides there was a never ending supply of pirates on the lower levels of the mountain. He had no idea how many pirates Victoria invited though he was beginning to think somewhere in the upper hundreds would've been exact. Of course, he had to admit they were definitely winding down. The only ones of any real note was him, 'Lucky' Lin, Ravenbone, and Shigoro. A few other pirate captains may be notable, but Mikoto hadn't met any of them yet. Or if he had they were all really weak, but whatever. There were only the strong ones left.
"I wonder if anything new will come to me up on the top of the mountain," Mikoto wondered out loud, he stressed his legs a little bit before rushing forward. Without skipping on any actual training he repeated the same pattern of coating his feet and legs in Haki to make it to the top. He didn't know what was going to be up on the mountain.
Without slowing down Mikoto blasted off racing to the top of the mountain. Mikoto slid across the ground, zigging and zagging through all of the remaining bits and pieces of shrubbery or rocks. There was no doubt that this mountain had been the battlefield of several fights now. It seemed more and more amazing the more Mikoto watched over it all. This entire mountain had been nearly scorched from all of the fights.
Mikoto admitted beyond a shadow of a doubt that his fights probably contributed to it greatly as well. However, more than most of these marks didn't seem like one he would make. Probably a large chunk of them belonged to the two Shichibukais. And as Mikoto headed up the mountain those marks seemed to become more and more prominent.
The marks Mikoto recognized as his and probably Shigoro's were down on the bottom of the foothills. Plenty of missed punches and kicks strewn about as if they were some ancient language embedded into the rocky walls of the cavernous mountain. The higher up you went the more likely you were to see clear-cut signs of Devil Fruit or just an insane amount of power. Trees which had been stripped bare of bark and leaves alike, burned hills, craters, all of the above were thrown together in some random series of combat.
A small thing caught the side of Mikoto's eye, nearly slowing him to a stop. It wasn't as fast as he was so Mikoto could definitely outrun it, but the bottom line was something was there. Mikoto didn't know what it was and that was quite possibly the most dangerous thing about it. Just a small glance and that all Mikoto could gather. It seemed to know the perfect hiding spaces amongst even this completely destroyed forest.
"I know you are there," Mikoto barked. His Haki soon covered the field, he was going to sense him without a doubt. And there was definitely a human being coming to life behind one of the trees. The heartbeat was strong, but Mikoto still couldn't read his mind. Was his own Haki beginning to waver now that he lost his will or was this man really just that strong? The guy was obviously talented in some ways if he could avoid being seen at all times aside from during mad dashes.
"I see so my information network about your skills is about as right as ever," stated the man as he stepped out from the shadows, revealing the shadowy form of Gan from the Revolutionaries. "Your instincts are incredibly sharp, better than most. You obviously detected my presence right away. I only just joined up with you after all."
"Great now I'm second guessing my own abilities," Mikoto murmured as he sat down. Maybe he was just tired out from all of the training and all that. He had been having a near constant barrage of life and death fights as of late on this mountain. Maybe that was why h seemed so susceptible to Victoria's Haki.
"Hmm, what's this?" questioned Gan as he scuttled up to Mikoto's side like a spider, danced upon its thread. "You are doubting your own abilities now? Hmm?" Gan's curiousity seemed a little extreme to Mikoto, but at this point Mikoto didn't really care.
"Yeah, that Shichibukai fellow I met 'Ravenbone'" Mikoto kind of creeked that guy's name out of his mouth like he didn't really want to say it. "He was a strong opponent. And for some reason Ravenbone managed to completely shake my entire body. But the real shock came when even Victoria stood up for him, a shaking of her Conqueror's Haki hit me like a hammer, but it didn't even faze Ravenbone."
"I'm not surprised," murmured Gan as his head suddenly fell limp right between his shoulders. "Conqueror's Haki is an incredibly tough technique which I doubt you ever experienced before. Very few people can actually manage to stay in her presence. A couple of the pirates who came here before you passed out just from being in the same room with her."
"Really, so I survived a few seconds longer than most people."
"Eh, its a step in the right direction," Gan stated, "trust me, after all I am the same crew as the perfect user of the Conqueror's Haki. Only Jugo's Conqueror's Haki can be considered a perfect technique at this time."
"Jugo's?" asked Mikoto tilting his head to the side and caused a clearly annoyed sigh from Gan.
"Jugo is...or was the leader of the Revolutionaries. He still kind of is. But with the Celestial Dragon acting as the main figure head. Jugo has taken over the battlefield aspects of the Revolutionaires while the Celestial Dragon is more of an...um, decoration if you will. He looks good for the Revolutionaries' cause."
"I know of him," Mikoto stated as he did recall not only hearing about Jugo, but also, "I've seen him on one occasion. Even heard of his start back in the Marines and me someone who absolutely hated him."
"Jugo often says the time he spent amongst the Marines were some of his favorite," muttered Gan, "that he really did truly wish to have more good times like that, but upon seeing many, many years of mistreatments go unnoticed from the World Government, he could no longer turn a blind eye and so he did the only thing he could do. Aim to replace it.
"The idealogies amongst us Revolutionaries vary greatly, you'll talk to some who wish to see the world burn, the world freeze over, and the world should split in two," muttered Gan, "Jugo has always been someone who desired the world to burn. He wants to see a new world be born over the old, its a shame."
The Revolutionaries were incredibly strong body of power now and they growing at an outstanding rate now. They were definitely not going to start shrinking and disappearing nowadays they were a massive monster that was going to swallow everyone before them.
"The Revolutionaries that side with Jugo were monsters and could easily sway many, many people under their control and they'll gain more," explained Gan as he shuffled forward, quietly mincing his feet. "People have been wronged all over and Jugo will protect them in any manner he wants, even if its not what they want. Complete protection from evil is what Jugo is quietly offering us...even if we don't want that.
"His mindset hasn't changed that much from the Marines, except unlike the Marines people won't have any option to substain from being a part of the World Government. He'll swallow everyone up into his control. That is where Jugo believes we have gone wrong. Our influence doesn't stretch to every corner of the earth. There are some recluses that avoid us."
"Still why not just wait in the Marines for a long time," Mikoto asked, "I mean from what it sounds like he would've been promoted to a position of power eventually and then take over from there. Why start from scratch?"
"The World Government doesn't have complete control over its own body," explained Gan. "The World Government may be the body of the mighty dragon, but it needs to have its lazy head severed and that is why Jugo has decided to become a Revolutionary to sever the ties of the mightiest beast in history from that of its weakened head. If he can detach the World Government from the Gorosei and even the Celestial Dragons then eventually the rest of the world will follow. However, such actions could never be done in the Marines. As a Marine you are a single nail on the beast rather than the sword that could sever it."
"Still just cause the Marines are evil doesn't give Jugo the right to go to such extremes here, does it?"
"Of course, he will," explained Gan, "Jugo wants to protect everyone just like he, himself, never was. He trained his absolute hardest day after day. He felt like many, many Marines were harshly trained time after time again. He had originally joined up with the Marines to save those who were never given a second look, but he found something scary.
"Some islands weren't a part of the World Government and he held no power there. He couldn't even arrest criminals on these islands because these islands would not allow Jugo and his Marine crew to take control of any part of their life. So Jugo was helpless, but to let a criminal out of his grip. Jugo would've taken them down no matter what the World Government charter and even the government of that island said he would insist on protecting them. Criminals of any kind deserve to punished."
"Except for the ones on your side," countered Mikoto, but Gan didn't seem fazed by it.
"I'm guessing from your guys' history you were talking about Renvont and Trevor. They are both true demons, but how can we possibly turn them down? Demons are necessary to beat demons. Jugo, Trevor, and Renvont. Three impossible monsters have sided with us. We have offered you a spot on our crew too, remember? Of course, they also understand that as soon as this war is over with...they will be declared enemies of the state.
"Which is why these men are probably going to try and stretch the war out, which many, many of our men will try to do. Sometimes they wish for anarchy."
