I decided to add another chapter today. Please review if you read this chapter, I want to know what you think!
Disclaimer: percy jackson series is Rick Riordan's!
When I woke up later in my bed, the memories rushed back to me, I remembered screaming in pain and passing out.
"Ariella you're awake!", my father said as he walked into my room.
"What happened? Why did it hurt so much when you touched my forehead?", I asked.
"You have more power than what either Hades or I had thought. The pain was from your wings suddenly coming out of your back. Now that you have them you will need to train even harder than before, you will need to learn to move as fast as the wind. Also you will have to train with me everyday so that we can strengthen your wings so that you can fly. And you'll need to learn your other new powers such as raising the dead, controlling the shadows, and creating things out of shadows.", He explains as he helps me stand.
"Ugh, more training?" I whine. My wings are jet black like my father's, and I have a wingspan of 8 feet.
"Yes, now get something to eat and get some rest, training starts at 6 a.m!", he announces.
I groan in response.
-Next morning-
I dress in my black jeans, black tank top, and black combat boots to complement my very pale skin, long black hair, and my black eyes. For some reason people are always nervous when they see my black eyes, but seriously? Just because my irises are also black doesn't mean people need to freak out. Anyways, I'm getting off subject.
So I got dressed and headed down to the training arena, (father likes to practice in big, open places), and see father standing in the middle of the room.
"Good you're on time. You need to start by lifting your wings off the ground and stretch them out completely then try to flap them back and forth." he instructed.
I tried to lift them, and tried, and tried some more.
-3 hours later-
I finally lifted my wings and got them all stretched out.I tried flapping them and almost fell over, flapping knocked my balance off a lot.
" Keep your feet shoulder width apart, it helps when you are just getting used to the wings." father commented.
"Thanks, when can I start learning about the shadows and raising the dead?" I ask.
"Lets do that next, just try flapping 10 more times, then we'll move on." father replies.
After I finally finished flapping 10 times, we moved on.
"Now I want you to shut your wings tightly across your back. Then to control the shadows, I want you to reach out your senses to feel their presence around the room, it should feel cold, eventually this will become instinct so you won't need to think out it every time. Then when you feel the shadows try to draw them closer to you." Father instructed.
It turned out that I'm a natural when it comes to manipulating the shadows. I started to play with them, making them take the shape of animals or people, and making them pick things up for me. Father was very impressed that I got it so quickly. We finally moved on the shadow traveling, it felt like get a bucket of ice water dumped on your head. We continued training for until I was able to control and travel with the shadows perfectly. By the end of the day I was also able to hover a few inches above the ground, if I flapped my wings hard enough.
That night I slept well, and every night after until about 6 months later when something surprising happened.
Ha! Cliff hanger! I'll try to update tomorrow if I can. So that's the second chapter of this story, hope you like it. Please Review!
