Ariella POV

I've been stuck doing nothing. At. All for 2 days, because I've had my wings bound and Will insisted that I have a week of bed rest. So I'm bored.

"Nico, will you do me a favor?" I whine when he walks into the cabin

"what?" he asks

"Can you go get some of your friends? I want to play truth or dare, because I'm booooored." I ask

"I don't have any friends" he answers

"Then can you find some people that you know but don't hate? Please?" I whine

"Fine" he says and leaves

Nico POV

Really, she wants to play truth or dare, really? Fine, I know she'll just keep asking until I give in anyways. Like yesterday she talked me into 3 games of Scrabble, it took 6 hours. I see Percy and Annabeth walk by so I ask them.

"Hey Annabeth, Percy, will you do me a favor?" I ask

"Sure what do you need?" Percy asks

"Ari is bored again and wants to play truth or dare. Will you come play?" I ask quietly

"Sure, can we bring some friends?" asks Annabeth

"Yes, more people might keep her occupied longer. The game will start in 10 minutes." I tell them

"Okay, see you at the Hades cabin in 10 minutes." Percy says as he and Annabeth go look for some friends to play.

I then go to the infirmary to find Will.

"Hey Will!" I call once I walk into the infirmary

"What do you need?" He asks

"I need a favor since you got me into this mess." I tell him

"What mess?" he asks confused.

"The mess with telling Ari that she needs bed rest for a week, and she's bored. Again. So she wants to play truth or dare, and you have to come." I tell him

"Okay... when does it start" he asks

"In 10 minutes, bring a friend if you want to." I say as I walk out the door

On the way back to the cabin I see the Stoll brothers.

"Hey Conner, Travis! Since you 2 are the reason for this mess you 2 have to come to the Hades cabin. Ari is bored, so she's insisting that I find people to play truth or dare with her, it starts in 10 minutes" I explain

"Cool! We'll be there!" They reply

I finally get back to the cabin and tell her everyone will show up in 10 minutes.

-10 minutes later-

Ariella POV

I'm laying on my stomach on my bed, while I wait for everyone to everyone to arrive. Someone knocks on the door and I jump up to get it, when I open the door and in walks: Conner, Travis, Percy, Annabeth, Will, and a red haired girl.

I turn to Nico, "Really, you invited the Stolls after what happened? Fine but they can't dare me to do anything since they got me stuck this way in the first place." I say smirking at the Stolls who are now pouting.

"So we all have to swear on the Styx that we'll tell the truth, okay? Now who wants to start?" I say

"I'll start" says the girl with red hair after we all swear.

" My name is Rachel just so you know. Ariella, truth or dare?" She asks

"Truth"

"Why is the camp whispering about someone, and who is it?" She asks

"I went dark when Conner and Travis pranked me and Thanatos and Hades had to stop me. Now I'm grounded for a week. Again" I reply quietly

"Percy, truth or dare" I ask to change the subject.

"Truth"

"When did you go to the underworld to get your mom back?" I ask

"4 years ago. Ariella, truth or dare?" He replies

"Truth, since I'm still grounded," I reply glaring at Will and the Stolls.

"What did you mean by being grounded again and explain of the the times you have been grounded." He tells me

"Fine, I've been grounded twice while living in the underworld. Once by my father and once by Hades." I say embarrassed

"What did you do for thanatos to ground you?" Ask Nico

"Father and I were practicing flying still, we were flying up to the top of the cavern of the underworld and I want to try scaring my father. So when we reached the top, about 1.5 miles high, I stopped flying so that I would fall just out of the father's reach the entire way down. I started flying again at about 10 above the ground. Father had my wings bound for 2 weeks and my training was doubled." I say, calmly

"WHAT?! Are you crazy?" Everyone yells

"What? It was fun, I'll probably do it again when I can finally fly again. Anyways, Will truth or dare?" I ask

"Dare"

"Awesome, I dare you to let me leave the cabin so that I can train and do things, while my wings are bound!" I say happily

"But- find, but you can wear your armor, and if you get hurt you must go to the imfirmary." He says, "Annabeth, truth or dare?"

"Dare"

"I dare you to let the Aphrodite cabin give you a make over!" He tells her

She walks out of the cabin muttering about how she'll get him back for this. We continue on with the game until she comes back.

-45 minutes later-

Annabeth walks through the door with a scowl. She now has her hair curled with a touch of gray eye liner around her eyes. She is now wearing a white short sleeve crop top with an owl on the front, with a short charcoal grey skirt. The outfit was completed with black knee high boots.

"Will" she said as she walked in "truth or dare"

"Truth" he said sounding scared

"Why did you tell Ariella, she needed bed rest for a week? She looks fine." She asks sounding curious

"Umm, well from what I heard from the others that she is really strong with controlling the shadows, so I thought that she should rest more so that when the war starts she'll have more rest" he answers

"Really?" I ask, "that's not how it works, at least not for me, the less I fly or use my powers, the more my control slips. Which is why I hate being grounded so much!"

"Oh, then you can unbind your wings after dinner tonight, your injury will be done healing by then." He says

"Oh, cool, then that means that I can try something new at the lake then," I reply just as the horn signaling lunch sounds.

When I enter the dinning pavilion for the first time since I lost control everything goes silent. I use the silence to call out to Chiron.

" Chiron, if I may I'd like to return to my duty tomorrow morning. And I'd like to try something tonight at the lake just before sundown when I can use my wings again." I ask him

"You may. What are you wanting to try?" He answers

"Something that could help us win this war if it works" I answer as I walk over to the fire to sacrifice some food and I go eat my lunch.

-time skip to just after dinner-

Most of the camp had gathered at the edge of the lake.

" If you are hear to watch then hold perfectly still no matter what happens. At one point it will probably feel like you just had a bucket of I've water was just dumped on your head. That's normal, other wise don't try to move much." I shout so that I can be heard.

"Nico, can you help me unbind my wings?" I ask, as I start to pull all of the shadows to me.

"Sure" he says as he unbinds them.

My wings unfold, as my eyes turn turn completely black again with no whites. I raise my wings getting ready to fly when Nico asks "Ari, are you in control?"

"Yes, it's just that my eyes turn completely black when I use a lot of power." I reply. I tap the center of my necklace, my armor unfolding, as I launch into the air and bring all of the shadows with me.

When I reach about 300 feet in the air I mostly blend with the shadows do that my form appears to be mostly see through. I turn and fly straight down to pick up speed. At the last minute before I hit the water I level out and shoot toward the campers. Most of them try to move out of my way, but I'm going to fast for them to move in time. With my form being mostly see through, I go right through the campers like a ghost.i finally lost my speed at the edge of the forest. I slowly glide back to the lake and hover next to the campers, still mostly see through.

"Are you trying to fade?!" Will yelled at me

"I'm not going to fade, I just blended with the shadows so that I would lose my physical body. As soon as I pull out of the shadows I'll probably pass out since I've never used this much power. But while I don't have a physical form I can't get hurt and I won't feel pain. Nothing other than another being from the underworld would be able to harm me. So far I'm drawing strength from the shadows." I explain to the campers.

"I'm going to go train for about an hour to test how long I can maintain this form." I say as I start to leave

"Go to the imfirmary if you last until sun rise." Will calls to me.

It turned out that I could last 12 hours, so from sunset to sun rise. I had just layed down on a cot in the imfirmary when the sun starting to rise, a ray of light hit me causing my hold on the shadows to fail. My physical body reformed as some of the Apollo campers came to take the next shift.

"How long?" Will asked as he rushed toward me.

"12 hours." I managed to say before I fell asleep.

Will's POV

As soon as Ariella falls asleep I tell Kayla that I'm going to find Chiron, I need to tell him how long Ariella lasted. I find him talking with Percy and Annabeth, as I walk up to them I hear them talking about the upcoming battle.

"...We need to leave in a few hours, Manhattan is completely asleep, we'll need to protect Olympus while the gods are fighting Typhoon." Percy was saying

"Sorry to interrupt but Ariella just fell asleep at the infirmary, she lasted 12 hours before her shadows failed when the sun came up. We'll need to move her if we are preparing to leave for Manhattan soon." I tell Chiron

"I'll go get her settled in one of the vans" I reply, as I jog back toward the infirmary
