Her first few classes went by fairly quick and without much fanfare. Though she did have to put up with the embarrassing 'new student' introduction for each class so far. She had spotted Gohan in a few of them, but she managed to grab a seat on the opposite side of the room.
Erasa though, seemed to zero in on her. She had even dragged her to lunch to sit with her and her friends. She led Kagome to a table with a dark haired girl and a muscular blond and was quickly introduced, "Hey guys, this is the new girl, Higurashi Kagome.
"What's up," the blond smirked, winking at her causing Kagome to roll her eyes in annoyance.
"That's Sharpner," Erasa pointed out, before pointing to the girl sitting besides him. "And that's Videl Satan, Hercule's daughter."
For some reason, the girl was glaring at her. Kagome ignored the dark look and instead asked another question that had been bothering her since she met Erasa. "Who's Hercule?"
"You can't be serious," Sharpner said, looking at her in disbelief. "He's only the savior of the world."
"Yeah, he's the one who defeated Cell," Erasa added.
Kagome nodded her head, figuring she would just ask Yamcha about it later. She reluctantly took the open seat besides Sharpner and pulled out her bento. He promptly wrapped an arm around her shoulders. She shrugged his shoulder off, all the while wishing she was back in the past as she tuned out the chatter around her.
Kagome lucked out during gym. She had forgotten her gym uniform, which covered a lot more than her middle school one. And so she sat on the sidelines. She watched as the rest of the class warmed up with laps before moving on to a game of baseball.
She couldn't help but notice that Gohan looked out of place. No doubt he was trying too hard to fit in. She was starting to feel bad for the guy.
Halfway through the game, Videl received a strange page and sprinted off. Gohan followed after her. And despite how much she didn't care, she was curious about what that whole scene was about.
With their pitcher gone, Kagome was asked to step in. Gym was mostly over anyway, she doubted she would work up much of a sweat.
Sharpner was up to bat. Grinning cockily, he called out to his team, "This is gonna be an easy homerun."
Narrowing her eyes, Kagome stunned the class with a fast pitch.
"Strike one!"
"Way to go, Kagome," Erasa cheered.
"Beginner's luck," Sharpner huffed.
Kagome smirked but didn't bother to correct him. There were some perks from having a baseball player for a father. And so she quickly struck him out.
Her last class of the day (history), Kagome ended up seated next to Gohan. (The other boy had reappeared half-way through their last class.) Neither Erasa, Sharpner, nor Videl shared the class with them. And though she didn't care much for the later two, she wished Erasa had been there. If nothing else to be a buffer between her and Gohan.
It was still awkward between the two of them. They didn't speak a word to the other. Gohan wasn't sure what to say. He was sure she still thought he was a pervert. And Kagome straight out ignored him. She wanted a normal high school experience and he was the furthest thing from normal.
