Gohan leaned against the wall as he watched Kagome switch out her textbooks. Awkwardly, he asked, "So, are you doing anything today?"
"Yeah, heading to Capsule Corps. I'm on babysitting duty," Kagome easily replied as she finished stuffing most of her books into her locker.
Gohan nodded his head and suddenly froze once he had processed her reply. "You're Trunks' new babysitter the one he-, is actually getting along with?" He nearly added the part about Trunks having a crush on her. But he didn't want to embarrass the younger boy.
"Yep," she replied, missing his little slip up. "He's such a cute kid. Very well-behaved too."
Gohan was tempted to ask if they were talking about the same kid. The Trunks from the future maybe, definitely not the one raised by both his parents. Instead he said, "I'll walk with you to Capsule Corps. It's always great to see Trunks."
"You sure you don't have some superhero work to do," Kagome teasingly asked, sending a playful wink the saiyan's way.
Gohan blushed in embarrassment and avoided eye contact as he squeaked out, "You know about that too?"
Kagome laughed good naturedly at his expression. He was fun to tease. "It wasn't too hard to figure out."
"Well, well, well what's going on here," Sharpner suddenly interrupted the two, causing Gohan to stiffen and Kagome to roll her eyes in annoyance. Shutting her locker, she eyed the blond disdainfully. He hadn't made the best first impression on her and her other encounters with him hadn't helped his image at all.
"What's up, Sharpner," Gohan reluctantly asked.
The other boy just slinked closer to Kagome and said, "Just wanted to invite the new girl here to a party this weekend. Oh and you too nerd-boy."
Kagome narrowed her eyes at the boy. Gohan, sensing Kagome's ire quickly went to her side, but before he could mutter an excuse she beat him to it. "Sorry blondie, we have plans this weekend."
And with that, she grabbed Gohan's hand and dragged him along with her out the school.
