The game ended with a resounding win for the Titains.

Gohan asked if Kagome wanted to wait around for a chance to meet with Yamcha, but she declined. And so the four of them headed straight to the carnival. Hopefully, it would be enough to lift her spirits. Though Goten and Trunks certainly had enough excitement for the pair of them. The pair was eager to enjoy the rides, games, and junk food.

And while Kagome was at least smiling now, Gohan could see that there was still something bothering her. So he quickly slipped his brother and Trunks some money and said, "Why don't you two go play a few games?"

"Sure thing," Goten exclaimed, nodding his head eagerly as he grabbed his best friend's hand. Before the lavender hair boy could protest, the two were quickly out of sight.

Kagome moved to follow them, but Gohan grabbed her arm and suggested, "Let's walk around for a bit."

"Shouldn't we go after them though," Kagome replied, her gaze glued to the spot where the young demi saiyans had taken off.

Gohan smiled disarmingly and reassured her, "They'll be fine."

"Alright then," she slowly said.

Realizing he still had his hand on her arm, Gohan quickly brought it back to his side as if it had burnt him. Kagome didn't notice though and the pair slowly wandered around until Gohan suddenly blurted out, "Are you okay?"

"What," Kagome replied, her brow scrunching in confusion as she regarded Gohan warily.

Gohan nervously fiddled with his hands as he tried to explain what he meant. "It's just, you don't seem like you're enjoying yourself very much."

"Oh," she quietly replied, looking down at her shoes.

Gohan gulped anxiously. He placed a hand on her shoulder and said, "You're my friend, Kagome. Whatever it is, I'm here if you need me."

He heard her sniffle so without much thought, he wrapped his arms around her in what he hoped was a comforting embrace.
