Once she was sure she was not about to break down, Kagome slowly untangled herself from Gohan's arms. She hadn't even realized how off she had been acting, but she was touched with his concern. She wasn't sure if she could tell him about the past, at least not yet, but it was comforting to know he cared.

"Thank you," she spoke up, wiping her eyes of unshed tears. "I'm sorry for being so weird today."

"You don't have to apologize," he genuinely replied. "And anyone's entitled to be weird especially on their birthday."

"It's just," she began, pausing as she struggled to find the right words to describe what had happened without revealing too much

Gohan interrupted her before she could continue, "You don't have to tell me if you're not ready. But I'm always willing to listen if you want."

"You're a good friend," Kagome simply replied with a smile.

He returned the smile before gesturing in the other direction. "C'mon, let's go catch up with my brother and Trunks before they destroy something."

Laughing, Kagome grabbed his hand and the duo raced off to find the younger kids. And not a moment too soon as Trunks was arguing with one of the game workers. He looked seconds away from blasting the stand.

"Come one you guys, try a few rides," Kagome called to them, beckoning them forward. Trunks gave the game worker one last harsh look before bounding over to the high schoolers, Goten one step besides him.

Unfortunately due to their size, they weren't able to go on the more fast rides like the younger boys wanted. And Kagome had to stifle back a laugh at the pout Trunks made when he first found out.

"Let's try the Ferris Wheel," she suggested, grabbing the younger boy's hand. Trunks' whole face went red as he meekly nodded his head in agreement.

Goten looked confused and whispered to his brother, "Is Trunks getting sick?"

Gohan snorted in amusement but shook his head. He let his brother climb on his back and followed Kagome and Trunks. The wait was short and they were able to get on the ride without too much of a problem. Much to Trunks' annoyance, Goten claimed the seat besides him, leaving the two teens to sit next to one another.

Kagome smiled at the group of demi-saiyans and said, "Thank you, for spending my birthday with me."
