Four-Star

Gohan guided Nimbus towards his home in the East District, trying his best to concentrate on anything but Kagome. He was glad she couldn't see him; he was sure his blush had even reached his ears. He landed a good distance from his home. (He wasn't sure if he quite ready for his mother to meet Kagome.)

The two teens disembarked from Nimbus and Gohan led her to the edge of a cliff not too far away that had an amazing view.

"Wow, you live around here," Kagome asked, impressed. She found a spot to sit right on the edge, Gohan settling down beside her.

"Yeah."

"It's great," she wistfully replied, her gaze soaking in the view while Gohan watched her. He was pleased that he could cheer her up. "I forgot how much I miss the outdoors."

"I'm glad you like it," Gohan softly replied before he started digging into his messenger bag. Now would be the perfect time for him to give her his gift.

"Thank you," she said. The fresh air and greenery really was just what she needed.

"Uh, hey I-I've been wanting to give y-you this," he stuttered, handing her his present. Nervously, he started to ramble, "Sorry about your birthday. And I know it's not much."

Kagome reached out and gently held the small trinket. It was a copy of the orange, four-star dragon ball. It vaguely reminded her of the baubles her grandfather sold at their shrine of the Shikon Jewel.

"My dad always believed that the four-star dragon ball brought good luck. I know it's not the real thing-"

Kagome held it close to her heart and said, "Thanks Gohan, I really appreciate it."
