Kagome wasn't too sure how she managed to get through the rest of the week. She trudged through it though, fueled by the thought that she would get to see Shippo that weekend. But as she gazed at her reflection in the mirror, she wondered if they would be able to do much. Her face was flush from the fever that had started the day before and sweat lightly perspired down her brow. Stubbornly, she splashed some cold water and got ready for school.

She skipped breakfast and was ready to head out the door when Yamcha spoke, "Hey, should you really be going to school today?"

Kagome rolled her eyes in annoyance and said, "Yeah, so?"

"You're still obviously running a fever, you should go back to bed," he replied, caught off guard by her cold attitude.

"I'm fine," she persisted. "And it's not like you care."

"Hey," he said, laying a hand on her shoulder. "That's not true. Now do as I say and get back to your room."

"I'm going to school!"

Kagome shrugged him off and stormed out of the apartment. She slammed the door on her way out. Gohan wasn't waiting in his usual spot (he always managed to get there before her). Checking the clock on her cell phone, she figured he was out doing Saiyaman heroics and sent him a quick text that she would meet him at school.
