"How are you here," Kagome demanded, glaring at her old foe. She looked nothing like the dark priestess she once knew. If it weren't for the scar, she doubted she would have even recognized her. Even her aura had changed. "You should be dead."

Tsubaki laughed coldly and pulled a dagger out from her sleeve. Swiftly and ruthlessly, she slashed Kagome's cheek. She collected the drop of blood on a sutra "I could say the same for you. But then I saw you with that moron you call a father in that magazine."

Kagome's eyes widened at that. "What did you do to him?"

She smiled but didn't answer her question. Instead, she went about the room, preparing random items. "You should be more concerned about yourself."

"What are you planning?"

"After you destroyed the jewel, I needed a way to stay youthful," Tsubaki explained, indulging the younger miko. "I'm sure you've noticed, but demons have waned in this time."

Kagome rolled her eyes at the woman's vanity.

"So I found another way," she said, before cutting the palm of her own hand and letting the blood mix with Kagome's.
