Okay everyone on fanfiction, Facebook and Devianart vote and decided. Ready to find out what the sparkling is?
chapter 4
A sparkling was crying. Override had jut given birth. But was it a boy or a girl.
"It's a girl!" Red alert said.
Hot shot looked shocked he had a daughter. Override was pretty surprised and happy. Red alert then placed the little sparkling on Override's chest. Override instinctively and careful put her hands on her sparkling. "Hello sweetie mommy and daddy have been waiting for you." she said.
Hot shot was so in awe. He was almost afraid to touch his little daughter. Red alert put a small clamp on the Cyber-umbilical cord then got a pair of medical scissors. "Hot shot your the father you want to the honors?" Red alert asked.
"Um okay." Hot shot said.
"Alright cut right here." Red alert said pointing to a small area in front of the clamp.
Hot shot ever so carefully cut it.
Red carefully took care of the afterbirth.
Red alert careful wiped the sparkling clean with a warm and damp clothe. Then he ever so carefully took the sparkling out of Override's arms. "Okay time for her first check up." Red alert said.
He tested the reflexes that humans and Cybertronian have in common as newborns. Red alert explained each one and the most likely reason for it. "Okay reflexes are good." Red alert said.
He took the sparkling's temperature. "Her temperature is normal." Red alert said.
Red alert check her joints and muscle cables. Everything checked out fine.
Then he measured her. "Okay 35 inches long that is in the normal range." he said. He put her on the scale and weighed her. "Alright 78.5 lbs normal birth weight." he said.
While he was doing this the sparkling was fussing she was not happy. Red alert checked her vital signs. "Vital signs normal," he said. "She is one healthy sparkling girl." he added with a laugh.
Then Red alert took a small energon sample to test it. When that happen the sparkling cried. "I know I'm sorry," Red alert said.
"Okay all done." Red alert said.
Red alert the put a diaper on the sparkling and wrapped her up in a pink blanket. "Hot shot would you like to hold her?" Red alert asked.
"Sure," Hot shot said.
Red alert showed him how to hold a sparkling.
Hot shot ever so carefully held his daughter.
"Override I'm so proud of you. You gave me a healthy daughter." Hot shot said.
"I now know why it's called labor." Override said with a tired smile.
The other Autobots were outside the medical bay they heard Override yelled and wanted to know what was going on. Red alert came out and wondered why the others were outside the med bay so early they normally didn't get up till 8:00 am.
"What with the ruckus? We heard Override yelling and screaming about 5:00 this morning." Landmine said.
"Everything is fine Landmine," Red alert said. "Override is alright just tired." he added.
Everyone realized what Red alert meant when he said that. "You mean Override had the sparkling?" Scattershot asked.
"Yes," Red alert said.
Optimus and Elita came up to Red alert. "Red alert is my grandchild a boy or a girl and can I see it?" Optimus asked.
"I'll ask them if you two can come in see your grandchild." Red alert said and went inside.
"Hot shot, Override the others heard the ruckus coming from the medical bay this morning and now Optimus and Elita want to come in and see their grandchild. Is that okay?" Red alert asked.
Hot shot and Override were okay with it. They wanted Optimus and Elita to meet thier granddaughter.
"Optimus, Elita it's okay for you to come in." Red alert said.
Optimus and Elita walked into the medical bay they saw Override holding a little pink bundle. "Mom, Dad meet your granddaughter." Hot shot said.
Optimus came over and ever so gently stroked the sparkling's head.
"She's so Precious." Elita said.
"What are you going to name her?" Optimus asked.
"Out of all the names we thought about we like Swiftstar the best." Override said.
"That does have a nice ring to it." Optimus said.
"Yes it does." Elita said.
Now named Swiftstar was going to grow happy healthy and strong. Then Swiftstar started crying she was hungry. "Okay Optimus and Elita you have to go now it's time for the first breast feeding lesson." Red alert said.
"Okay," They said and left the room.
Override and Hot shot decided to nurse and bottle feed their child.
Red alert helped Override hold Swiftstar in the right position. Then he helped a little more until Swiftstar latched on. Swiftstar started to nurse right a way.
"OH! She's like what humans call a piranha!" Override said.
"Newborns will be like that sometime but don't worry things will run more smoothly soon." Red alert said. He even gave Override a pump so she can pump her in ener-milk into bottles to feed Swiftstar.
"No doubt about our daughter will be a fast one." Override said.
"I agree with that." Hot shot said.
As Swiftstar nursed a little of the ener-milk came out the corner of her mouth. Then Swiftstar let go and started to fuss. Override ever so carefully burped her.
Swiftstar yawned rather cutely. Red alert carefully put her in a medical bay crib.
"Override get some rest." Red alert said.
"Alright Red alert," Override said and dozed off.
Hot shot began to yawn.
"Hot shot you have been up for a while get some sleep too." Red alert said.
"Okay," Hot shot said.
Now Hot shot, Override and their daughter Swiftstar were fast asleep.
Red alert decide to leave so he wouldn't disturb them.
The other Autobots were talking. "Red alert is it true that it's a girl?" Scattershot asked.
Brakedown and Clocker have arrived. "What's going on?" Brakedown asked.
"Override had the sparkling." Landmine said.
"That is wonderful news indeed so is it a little boy or girl?" Brakedown asked.
"A little girl." Red alert said.
"Wow can I see it?" Clocker asked.
"Not right now the new parent's and the sparkling are sleeping. Both Hot shot and Override have been up since at least 2:30 am." Red alert said.
"Okay," Clocker said.
"What is her name?" Jetfire asked.
"Her name is Swiftstar." Red alert said.
"That is a beautiful name for a little girl." Vector Prime said.
Soon the rest of the crew and their friends will meet Swiftstar.
