...

Later on that afternoon, Alice had cooked for everyone; they all sat around the kitchen table along with Splinter as if nothing were about to occur. There was a lingering worry in Alice's mind over not being able to help, every so often she clutched her side where her wound was and cursed it. But whenever the thought clouded her mind she would feel the slight touch form Raph's hand on her knee or shoulder that blew it away.

Alice watched as the others dug into their food without a care in the world. She couldn't help the small smile that pulled at the corners of her lips when she saw them so happy together. It was almost to unreal that these turtles even excised, helping her with her problems without asking for anything in return. Looking around she was expecting to wake up in hospital bed somewhere having been unconscious for an eternity. But every morning she was in the full embrace of someone she cared about, unknown arms that made her safe, the soft tickle of his breath at the back of her neck and a small squeeze around her whenever he felt her move.

In her head they sounded like the dream of a lunatic, or out of some weird turtle-loving fan girl's daydream. Either way, it couldn't make her happier to know that it wasn't all in her head.

She was snapped from her thoughts when suddenly the laughter stopped and the brothers stood from their chairs heading for their gear by the exit of the lair.

Alice stood abruptly her chair creaking against the floor sharply as she did; the only one to look back however, was Raph.

Though she expected to see a look of sorrow or even doubt, he had a large grin on his face and raised a thumb up at her, almost looking excited.

As soon as the thought had perked her cheeks, it was gone in the instant they disappeared into the darkness of the sewers.

She slowly sat back down, her eyes never leaving that arch, she clutched her side when a tightening of pain fought against her sudden use of muscle.

"You shouldn't worry yourself over them Alice, the only thing you can do right now is rest and heal fast. I know it's the only thing they want from you." Splinter's voice came over the teacup he held to his muzzle.

Alice looked over at him; his eyes were on her intently, his whiskered lips turning up in a knowing smile before taking a long sip from his tea.

"That's easier said then done, when I don't feel at rest at all…" She said more to herself then to him, her eyes wondered back to the exit then fell to the surface of the table where she was unconsciously playing with a grain of uncooked rice against the rough wooden surface.

"They would not have done this had they not wanted to, every time they go out there I believe in them, and every time they come back to me. Therefor, I will not stop having faith until they are home." Splinter said softly before standing from the table with his teacup. Making his way to the dojo his slid the shutter closed. Alice watched his shadow as he sat on the mat and held his head high in meditation.

Alice looked back down to her fingers playing with the grain of rice. Nothing had stopped her from believing in the brothers before, maybe because she was always there…but now…

She stood gently this time and made her way to the Dojo, sliding the door open she could see Splinter sat under the tree in the center of the room. Knowing full well he wouldn't look up at her she sat down beside him and mimicked his pose on the mat. Her thoughts and heart filled with faith and belief that the turtle brothers will return unharmed, and Raph will once again be wrapped around her in a safe warm embrace.

Splinter opened one eye to look down at her, the corner of his mouth shifted into a smile before placing a hand on hers hoping their thoughts would reach them.

"Raph will ya stop puching me!" Mikey whined.

"Well stop being so slow!" Raph argued.

Leo held a finger to his lips and turned to his brothers. "Guys, seriously, shut up, it's called a stealth operation for a-"

Spot light were suddenly on them from a far on the rooftops. "There they are! Get-em!"

"Ah shell…"

"Master…" Eris kneeled at Shredders feet before looking up at him.

"As requested there are men at every post." She explained.

"Excellent, they think they had us by getting us expelled from this establishment, fools!" His voice bellowed against the walls of the hollow room. The slight metallic sound of his voice ringing in his helmet almost sent a thriller shiver down Eris' spine.

"Do you intend to kill them master?" She asked with a dark smirk across her face.

Shredder suddenly turned on her. "You think the turtles are my goal!? Ha! My only enemy is that infernal Rat that those turtles are dear to. Killing them will have no affect, I must kill him with my bear hands."

Eris' face fell. "But, Master what of your promise to me. For my revenge, let me kill them! It will make the rat and my sister shrivel in pain and come to us for revenge!" She hissed.

Shredder looked down at her. "Your thirst for blood devours you, I made no such promise to you, after I kill the rat, the turtles are all yours." He nodded in an appraising voice.

Eris eyes gleamed with excitement. She bowed at his feet again. "Thank you, master."

The last foot ninja fell to the ground with a thud and a crunching metal sound echoed when Leo pulled his sword from its head.

"Let's try and keep the arguing down for the rest of the mission, shall we?" Leo said turning to his brothers who were panting and huffing as if they had just run a marathon.

"Whatever you say Leo…" Donnie wheezed leaning on Mikey's head.

Leo rolled his eyes before turning their attention to the large building in front of them; The Archangel tower.

"That place gets scarier every time we come here…" Mikey whined.

"Shredder and Eris are in there, this ends now." Leo looked to his brothers in confirmation.

They all nodded readying themselves, their eyes shining a bright white as they spun in the air over the roofs top towards their goal.

They headed for the air vents, taking the roof once again would be too much of a risk, and at least they didn't know Alice had taken the air vents last time. As she shimmied their way through the tight ducts, they came across a room filled with foot and mercenaries they had seen before, the purple dragon…

Leo held a hand up to stall his brother whilst he listened in to their conversation.

"Those bastards won't have a chance in hell when we've flushed the swearers!" One cheered.

"Yeah, at midnight, we'll have control of the sewer levels and flush those guys out like drowned rats!" they started to cheer and laugh, Leo looked to his brothers, all of which had a determined look on their face, except for Raph.

"Yeah, at midnight, we'll have control of the sewer levels and flush those guys out like drowned rats!"

When Raph heard the mercs talk, his gut sank and his face turned white…Alice he thought. She as there, and it was only an hour until midnight, Master splinter would at least have a chance, but Alice…

"Raph…!" Leo hissed.

What is she drowns, or can't swim, or…

"Raph!" Leo hissed a little louder, snapped Raph from his whirling thoughts that dragged his heart into his stomach.

"Get it together, Donnie can hack their computers to stop them from flooding the sewers…" Leo explained.

Raph looked at Donnie then who smiled weakly and nodded.

"They'll be fine, she's with splinter, we have to keep moving." Leo ordered.

Raph's brow knitted, his determination back, and nodded towards his leader.

Leo smiled and they continued up the air vents towards the main server room.

"Donnie, you going to be ok on your own?" Leo asked as he watched Donnie drop down in to the server room already scanning the computers for the main port.

"I got this, you guys go." Donnie's voice never sounded so serious, Raph wasn't the only one concerned for the safety of their master and their new friend.

"We're countin' on ya!" Raph said holding up his thumb before sliding the vent back into place.

Donnie gave a hesitant smile before turning his attention back to the scanner.

"Alright Donnie, it's your time to shine…" He all but gulped walking around the cold dark server room; with only the bleeping glow of his scanner to light his path.

"Brgh, why do server rooms have to be so c-cold…" He Shuddered. His eyes glued to the monitor on his scanner, he shook his head.

"Duh, to offset the heat of the servers!" He scorned himself.

"I hang around Mikey, way too much…" His voice lowered when he heard footsteps outside of the server room door.

Ducking behind one of the giant machines he peeked round the corner to see foot ninja passing by but not looking his way.

Donnie let out a heavy sigh that he didn't realise he had been holding, sagging against the computer he had hidden behind.

"That was close, hurry up guys…" He whined before turning his attention back to his scanner reluctantly.

The others continued up the ventilation shafts towards the top floor of the building.

"Yah-ow!" Mikey exclaimed blowing on the palms of his hands.

Leo and Raph both turned to glare at him for making a ruckus…again.

"What is it now Mikey?" Leo whispered.

"I don't know what Alice was complaining again…the vents are getting h-h-hot!" He squealed jumping around to try and keep from making contact with the metal beneath him.

Raph and Leo just roll their eyes at the spectacle he was making of himself rolling around like a manic in the tight vent.

"Mikey, calm down, you'll attract attention." Leo hissed under his breath trying to stop him from moving around.

Raph shuffled up to him and hit him hard upside the head.

"Ow-man! What was that for?" Mikey groaned rubbing his head.

"There, concentrate on that pain and more pain to come if ya don't shut up!" Raph hissed under his breathe.

"Dude, so not cool…" Mikey sulked but started to move again scolding the hot metal under his breath the rest of the way.

When they had finally reached the top floor, they emerged from the vent exit landing soundlessly on the floor in the center of the large room.

With a little assistance from Donnie the lights had been cut out, leaving the glow from the broken window to light the room. A light breeze flew in causing their bandanas to softly curl behind them.

They waited, still and silent in the dark, listening for that haunting sound that they wouldn't deny sent dark shivers down their spines. Without warning the shink of a blade torn through the silence and landed with a sharp pang against Leo's blade.

"The turtles have come out to play…" Eris' cruel voice sounded against the heavy metal colliding with each other.

With that blue lights started to flicker on around the room lighting the space clearly. They were not alone in the room.

Looking around, Shredder was standing by with Dog-pound and Fish-face, along with Tiger-Claw, this was going to be an ugly fight.

Leo growled against his blade crossed over with Eris'. "A little dirty don't you think? Playing with more pawns on your side…"

They could hear the sound of shredders bellowing laughter from the corner of the room at his words.

"You are outnumbered and outmatched, put down your weapons in defeat and your deaths will be quick and painless…" Shredder made a few steps closer making him more visible in the near light.

They all knew he was right, without Donnie, they still would have been outnumbered; Leo felt Raph and Mikey's hand on his shoulders. Looking back at them they nodded with a smirk. They were ready for this; they weren't the fifteen year olds they used to be, this time the score was even.

Leo looked back over their crossed blades, his eyes bored into Eris' "Shinu made."

Eris' brow went from confident to surprise when Leo pushed forward sliding their blades apart and swung one sword up to catch the hilt of her blade. Eris scowled and slid her foot back making a leap away form his attack.

"You slimy creatures won't be making out of this building alive!" She hissed before lunging for him again, shedder nodded and the others made their move of the rest.

Dog-pound and Fish-face headed for Mikey, attacking from either side, whilst Tiger-claw started for Raph.

Taking out his gun he aimed for the red turtle, Raph flipped back out of his range and started for Fish-face to get him away from Mikey, he sliced at his back catching his attention and avoided a kick to the stomach before whirling around and sweeping his legs from under his fish body. Fish-face used his tail to prevent him from falling back and bounced back to land a hit round the side of Raph face.

Raph was knocked back, his feet grazing the floor as her fought for friction to keep himself from sliding back anymore.

He didn't have too much time to react when Fish-face was heading for him again; back flipping her landed on a top sill but was quickly moved when Tiger-claw fired up on him.

Whilst Raph was fighting his battle Mikey was fending of Dog-pound, his large fist came down to the floor warping the metal tiles with every blow. Mikey was jumping back from each hit until he finally got a second to react and swung his nunchack to a railing in the ceiling. Lifting himself up he swung himself around to gain momentum and finally land a heavy kick into Dog-pound sending him flying back into fish face.

"Boyakasha!" Mikey called before landing on his feet near them, unable to enjoy his victory for long when Raph flew past him, causing Tiger-claw fire to pass Mikey.

Leo had is hands full with Eris swing hits at him again and again like she had no stop button…He was on the defense and it wasn't good, he had no chance to land a hit until she herself had to avoid Tiger-Claw's fire.

"Hey watch it pussy-cat!" She hissed dodging the laser bullets flying past her towards the other turtles.

This was Leo's chance, he leapt and brought his swords down to collide with hers then swept his leg round to kick her into the air allowing him to break through her defense and land the hilt of his blade against her abdomen sending her backwards fast until she smashed hard into the wall.

She slid to the ground with a thud and ran the back of her hand along her bottom lips before clambering up to her feet.

Leo looked around and called. "Everybody switch!"

Mikey and Raph nodded and avoided their targets, Raph came round and crossed blades with Eris, out of his amusement she wasn't expecting it and buckled under the pressure from his attack landing on her feet Raph kicked her backwards following after her landing his fists on her abdomen. She came round catching one of his wrists and swung him round making him fly through the air and roll across the floor.

"Damn!" He spat blood on the floor wiping his mouth and stood up to Meet Eri's next attack with his sai.

It seemed like forever when Raph was flung against the wall for the shell knows how many times. He looked over to see Mikey on the ground un-moving.

"Mikey!" Raph called looking over to Leo who was now struggling with the three others on his tail; one of his swords broken and his shoulder obviously dislocated…

The lights started to flicker and a monitor came down into the room stopping everybody.

Donnie's face appeared on the monitor with a knowing smirk. "Systems are down, all access to your company's database has been sealed, including your funds, Shredder. You've been cut off, you have no control so give it up!"

Donnie's voice echoed in the room, Raph and Leo smiled up at him before yelling. "Get your ass up here!"

Donnie's eyes went wide at the sight of Mikey on the ground and the state his other brothers were in.

"I'm on my way!" The monitor shut off and all eyes were on Shredder.

From between the slit in his helmet they could see his eyes wide with horror, as was Eris'. But it soon became anger and Shredder started for Leo grabbing him by his throat and lifting him into the air.

"This is not how this fight ends! You will crumble before me so I shall reap my revenge on your master!" He growled into Leo's face through his helmet.

Raph got up to get to Leo's aid but was stopped by a kick to the face from Eris. The attack sent him flying but Eris caught up, her blade pointing down towards his throat.

"I'd stay put if I were you…" Eris hissed.

The elevator doors pinged and Donatello came out rushing towards Shredder, whirling his staff around he went to land a blow, but was quickly disarmed. His staff disappeared from his hands and his stomach churned in anguish when Fish-face kicked him away. Donnie's body rolled across the floor and lay limp by the pillar.

"Don-nie…" Leo wheezed through Shredder's strangled grip.

"I've got you know turtle, and now you can watch your brothers die!" Shredder turned Leo round to look at Raph and Eris, Leo's eyes widened at the sight. This was really…the end…

Eris kept her frozen glare down at Raph as the tip of her blade came down to his throat puncturing his skin.

"Any last words?" She hissed darkly her foot came down on his hand when she saw him reach for his sai, his hand crunched under the weight and he grunted in pain.

"Master?" she asked keeping her gaze of Raph.

Shredder rumbled in approval. "End him before his brothers eyes!" He bellowed.

Eris smirked her eyes widened with excitement as he blade came back slightly for momentum. Raph tightened his eyes, his mind flashing to Alice despising himself for not being able to protect her, or his brothers…

Just as the blade was coming down, it halted at his neck; Raph bravely opened his eyes too look up at his Death. They widened when he saw a look of horror on her face, looking down there was a blade protruding from her chest. One of her hands came up to see if it was really there, but it was gone in a flash and her body buckled from the lack of support in her body.

Eris felt the back of her hair being pulled backwards, blood dribbled from the corner of her mouth when it opened gasping at the sound of the voice behind her.

"This. Is for my parents. You bitch…" A dark voice sounded in her ear close and whispered like a ghost.

Her body fell forward to the floor and revealed a floating sword from behind her.

Raph took a moment to digest what he was seeing before it finally registered. "Alice?"

The sword was still floating but drew towards him he couldn't see anything but he could feel something knelt next to him and cup the back of his head. Then finally he could feel warm lips against his and smelt that addictive aroma, the only one he'd been close enough to know whom it belonged too.

His eyes closed momentarily, and a pang of disappointment grew in him when he felt the heat of her body disappear.

Shredder was confused and felt anger rise beneath his skin. Dropping Leo by his feet, his claw blades drew out as he whirled around looking for who could have killed his minion.

Dog-pound, Fish-face and Tiger-claw all drew back away from the center of the room in fear.

Then the voice sounded again. "This is not my fight! Nor is it yours, not today!" Her voice bellowed.

Shredder whirled around at where he thought he heard the voice. "Show yourself!"

"Your conscience deceives you, your revenge is one way! You only hold on to what you know because you are lost! You have lost, and I suggest you turn away now before you meet the end of my blade!" Her voice rang in the empty room.

Shredder growled in aggravation he could feel the others pulling him back. "Master, we do not know what this is, we should retreat for now…" Tiger-Claw reasoned.

"THIS IS NOT OVER SPIRIT! I WILL FIND YOU!" Shredder growled before allowing himself to be pulled back into the elevator.

When the doors closed, there was a deathly silence before the sound of a blade clashing to the floor echoed throughout.

Alice reappeared, ripping off the clock from Eris' armour, though covered in blood and wrapping it around her mid section covering what she could.

She made her way over to Raph kneeling by his head letting his rest on her lap. She pulled out Raphs T-phone and pressed a few buttons. The sound of the ringing came to a short stop.

"Alice! Is everything alright!" April's voice came over the speaker.

"Yeah, it's over, come on up everyone's in bad shape." Alice, hung up and tucked the phone back into his belt before finally turning her attention to him.

She let a hand stroke along the side of his face, she wasn't sure how to take his stare, he look relived but at the same time shocked.

"It's alright, we'll get you all out of here." Alice's voice came over soft and murmured.

His vision started to blur and his eyelids became heavy, what was this…? He thought to himself when the darkness glazed over and the faint sound of people rushing over to him faded into silence.
