The third year of middle school can't end faster than she hopes for. It was still in early spring or the start of the school term. A young girl with long baby blue hair clad in Meiran Middle school uniform is on her way to school when there is a spectacle about a thief villain that has been cornered use his gigantification quirk.
There are some heroes that she recognizes in the crime scene. Desutegoro, Backdraft and then Kamui, but the battle between Kamui and the villain is interrupted by a newcomer hero by the name of Mount Lady who has gigantification as her quirk. It was a normal everyday life and almost nothing amazed her. Nothing catches her attention except a boy who has a green curly hair and wearing a gakuran uniform. He looks like to be taking note of the heroes. In those days, heroes are seen as an idol that fawned upon by people. But a fan like that boy was one of a kind. It can come out as creepy or amazing because he can analyze the hero that he encounters and take notes on their quirk or even weakness.
To say that her day was normal was an understatement. It goes from the normal things about hero being able to catch a villain to watching hero being helpless on the crime scene because of a sludge villain. She was on her way to home. She didn't plan any outing with her friends. She just had a few groceries shopping she needs to do and in a blink of an eye an explosion was heard. There she was being one of the people to watch the villain took a hostage of a middle school boy.
It gets weirder after that. The boy which she saw that morning is running full speed to the villain and seeing that her body took control over her mind to catch up on him. She dodges the hero on standby and ignores their warning. She didn't even know why she took after the boy. She didn't know what she should do. She just kept on running to the villain that apparently took his friend as a hostage. The boy throws his backpack to the villain and tries to save his friend by hand.
"It's because you look like asking for help…" That one sentence broke her from her trance and in order to save the boy from harm, she uses her quirk. The quirk she had not once used ever since she entered middle school.
From her palm comes out a little dragon, and the dragon shoots up freezing air that froze the villain. But the quirk of the hostages could help the villain dispel her quirk. The villain swings his arm to her and the boy the scream of the heroes could be heard. The boy tries to shield her out of the villain reach but the villain never got his hand on them. For All Might have comes to save the day.
"Even I gave advice to you, but I didn't give a good example to you. Pro is always risked their lives." He took the hostage's arm and swings his other arm. "Detroit Smash."
With that one swing of his arm, the villain was splattered all over the place and it is raining. She lost consciousness after that.
When she comes to consciousness, the boy and she get chewed at by the heroes on the scene and the boy who held hostage is praised.
"You are too reckless. It really isn't necessary to get yourself into danger." yelled the Desutegoro.
"If you all not just silently stare at the happening crime then we wouldn't of running by ourselves, you know." The girl answer startled the heroes.
"What did you say? We were waiting for a compatible hero to save the boy." said Kamui.
"Until when will you stand and wait? Until the villain took over his body?" The calm voice of the girl chilled the people around her. Fortunately, no reporter was near there. The boy with green hair is pulling on her sleeve to stop her going any further.
"It isn't your place to butt in, you know." Desutegoro said with a tight expression.
"well, yeah. Isn't it your job? To meddle on someone matter and risked your lives?" The question and her expression froze the heroes on the site as well as the two middle school boys.
"But… it isn't my job to say that to you." She stands up and turns away from them. "I take my leave then. Thank you oh Heroes." The heroes still frozen hearing her voice, it worded as appreciation but it voiced with so much mockery and they can't give an answer to it.
She had expected it. She really did. But she hadn't expected to be grounded. When got to home, she expected that her father will be very mad and will start scolding her. And… she was right, but she hadn't expected to be grounded in her bedroom for a month. Okay, she did endanger her life, but she is currently breathing and alive, right.
"You have to reflect on how dangerous your action was." He said.
"But pa, I can't control my action this time. I swear my body reacting faster than my brain was." She tries to reason her father.
"Then you should learn to use your brain first when you reflected on your action today. Go brush your teeth and go to sleep right away." Her father stern reply made her pout. With a heavy step, she went up to her room.
Her father said that she was grounded but he didn't say that she can't use her phone. The phone rings three times before the other line picks it up.
"Hello, this is Hatsume Residence."
"Hello, Obaa-san. Is Mei in?" She straightforwardly asks the other line.
"Ara, Ryu-chan. Yes, Mei is in her room doing all kind of noise as usual and left her phone on the dinner table." She laughs at Mei who is apparently her daughter.
"Wait a moment okay? I'll pass her phone to her."
Not long after that, after the explosion sound and many other noises. The sound of her dearest friend could be heard.
"Hello Ryu, What is it?"
"Just put me on the speaker like always and do what you are doing okay." Ryu lay on her bed and make herself comfortable.
"Are you in trouble? You hadn't asked me to do that in a while." The scrambling sound in the other line could be heard, meaning that Mei granted her request.
"Well yeah, and I plan to tell you all the details, so listen well…"
Needless to say, the both of them chatting themselves until Ryu passed out from exhaustion.
