[Aurthors note: honestly writing this has given me a sense of nostalgia. I just enjoy writing and this is wonderful practice so thank you for allowing me to continue with this. Also I am up for honest reviews and comments so hmu. Final thing, this is an adult relationship, as I will not write lemons because I am not that kind of writer, it still gets a bit...what is the proper term...handsy? So there is your warning.]
He came unannounced, which while it was offsetting as far as having the castle clean and a meal cooked for everyone, it was most exciting. I came to greet him and the door, to which he greeted me with his welcoming eyes.
"Welcome home My Lord," I said as I bowed. He entered the castle with his usual pride and looked to Jakken.
"Jakken, give Rin her gift." he damamned in his strong voice. I felt a bit ignored, but I was still happy to have him home.
"Right M'Lord." Jakken scrambled to his bag and then handed Rin a small item wrapped in brown cloth.
"Lord Sesshomaru, you know you do not have to get me gifts anymore..." she said as she reached out and took the gift. "However, I am greatful you still think of me on your trips" she finished before opening her gift. When the cloth was unwrapped, it was shown to be previously wrapped around a beautiful tea pot. It was a tan color, with bright pink and yellow flowers painted into it. Rin's eyes lighted up when she saw this and smiled, running up to Sesshomaru and giving him a hug. It took years, but we finally got him to not whilt away from hugs. "Thank you very much my Lord! I will use it to brew tea right away!" she said as she ran towards the kitchen. That was the humbling thing about Rin, she really loved every gidt she ever received. You could give her a string and she would happily bead it and wear it everywhere as jewlery. When she was gone, Sesshomaru turned his gaze to me. I smiled to him.
"Was your journey a good one?" I asked, by passing the odviously large item he had in his hand. Sesshomaru held his item to me.
"It was, I brought you back a new kimono. The ones you wear get dirty and worn because you insist on cleaning when you don't have to." he said a bit sternly. I puffed up a bit at his comment.
"You can't expect me to think Rin could clean this place on her own..." I stated as I folded my arms. Sesshomaru's expression did not change, but his eyes did change, as if he felt relief come over him.
"...Then I will arrange to have more servants." He said, forcing the wrapped kimono into my arms. "I want you to wear this to dinner." he said flatly. I just felt a string of panic down my back.
"Ah-I have'nt started dinner yet! I didn't know you were coming home so soon!" I said taking the kimono and then began to walk to the kitchen. He quickly grabbed my hand, stopping and spinning me around to face him.
"Jakken and Rin can prepare dinner, I want you to change now." he said as flatly as ever. I was very confused, did my current kimono look bad? I was certian this was one of my newer ones? I looked down to my kimono as I heard Jakken protest.
"M-M'Lord, you want me to cook? I am positive that I have very little experience co-" he stopped when Sesshomaru threw a cold glare in his direction.
"Rin will be in charge, you will be aiding her. Now go." he bellowed. With haste, Jakken turned tail and ran to the kitchen. By then I was udderly confused and looked toward the kitchen.
"I don't want to question your judgement Lord, but are you sure he should be cooking?" I looked back to Sesshomaru, by then he had let go. He nodded.
"He will be fine." he looked back to me. "I want you to change, now." he demanded. Again, I huffed and placed a hand on my hip. "I want you to start acting like the Lady of the house. For once." he said with a bit of softness in his voice. I couldn't get mad at him for at least wanting me to put on a kimono he bought me, as for acting like a 'lady' he might have to wait another 10 years. I just politly smiled and bowed to him.
"Don't misunderstand, I really do love your gifts and I thank you." I said before going up to the room to change. I went to the bed and set down the package and slowly unwrapped the cloth to see a very beautiful blood red color. It popped to me, and as I lifted it up to see the beautifully crafted flowers, some yellow, some white. The kimono slowly faded to a lighter red as is floawed to the bottom. I laid it out on the bed and held my hands over my mouth. It was a truely beautiful kimono, it could have been to beautiful to place on my body. I was so taken back by it's beauty that I didn't even notice Sesshomaru sneak up behind me, his lips close to my ear.
"I thought a beautiful woman deserved a kimono just a beautiful as she is." he spoke softly into my ear. His arms wrapped around me, in a tight embrace. A chill did go up my spine, but it was... a good chill. I knew that this was leading to, and honestly I wanted it to go down that path. A smug smile came across my face, it is not very often this happens. Sesshomaru being the stoic type rarely shows this side of himself, so when he does I revel a bit. I placed on hand over his oddly warm ones, and the other gently on his cheek.
"I really did miss you, where did you go this time?" I spoke very softly, just enough for him to hear me. He also spoke softly, his deep voice coming over my ears much like silk over one's skin.
"It's not for you to worry about." it was very short and had a hint of being stern, but it didn't sting like most snaps he whips. I turned my head to look as him, his face just mere inches from mine.
"Is it something you can't trust me with?" I asked a bit disheartened. He never tells me where he is or what he does when he is away so it worries me. Just like that, he slipped from my hands and then went over to the kimono, still drapped across my bed.
"That is not it. I simply do not wish to burden you with any uneccesary thoughts." he said turning back to me, looking my body up and down carefully. With a heavy sigh, I crashed from my moment of bliss.
"Sesshomaru, I do nothing but worry when I don't hear from you. Even if you think you are protecting me or something, I still cannot help but think you are in constant danger..." I voiced my opinion finally. After years and years of dropping hints about this, I just outright told him I worry. With smooth quickness, he was at my front, his hands planted on a part of my kimono. He gently looks me in the eye.
"Jazmine," he started, God when he says my name like that it makes me weak in the knees. "You are at the forefront of my mind most of the time. I want you safe, and I think the safest you can be is to be ignorant." he spoke. I guess that makes sense, but it still does not put my worries to bed.
"But-" I started, but he was now working on the belt of my kimono.
"We could argue about this into the night, just trust me when I say that I can take care of myself. You will worry no matter what I do, so I intent to put your mind at rest. In the least for the next few days..." he finished just as he finished untying my belt. "I want to see you in your new kimono." I felt my face get hot. He had carefully detached and smoothed the first layer of my kimono off of me and let it fall into the floor. He was swift with the belt of the second layer, but I stopped him. He looked back up to me with his golden eyes. Not that I wanted to, it's just been...a while. I was still shy about myself around this God-like creature.
"Sesshomaru, it may not mean much but I do love you. Very deeply I will add. I will worry about you until the day I die. I am not some damsel in distress either. I can handle anything you can." I stated. Thinking back on this situation, maybe that was not the proper words to say to him. When I finished my what was suppose to be a serious talk, a smug grin appeared across his face. He chuckled as he let go of me and headed to the door. Was...the door closed when Sesshomaru entered? Oh. He stopped at the door and then faced me once again.
"We will see about that. Please wear your new kimono to dinner..." he said as he walked out the door, closing it behind him. I remember feeling a bit frustrated, but not at Sesshomaru.
It was a strange dinner. Everything was just as it always was when everyone was home eating dinner together, except for one thing. Sesshomaru never showed to dinner. He made such a fuss about me trying on this kimono and he never shows to dinner. Of course by the time dinner was over I began to help clean but was stopped, quite aggresivly I might add.
"Lord Sesshomaru demands you meet him in the west wing immediatly. He does not want you to help with the cooking or cleaning anymore!" Jakken spat words at me in his usual tone. He really only has one most of the time, but I have come to learn that this was just who he was. With a huff, I stormed off toward the west wing of the castle. I assumed he wanted me to meet him in his room, him sitting on his window seal ready to lecture me about my behavior. To my surprise when I came busting into his room, he was not there. Weird, I thought but pressed on to find him. A little less angry and more confused, I ventured further into the west wing, looking into each room I passed by. Where could he be? I continued until I was in part of the castle I did not recognise. Sure, I have lived here the past 10 or so years but I very often was...more or less not allowed over here. When I came down to the ending of the hallway, I found a room with 2 sliding doors. When I went to slide one of the doors open, I noticed a single candle lit in the middle of the room. Now I was offically getting creeped out. Something still drew me into the room and toward the candle. I could feel my heart beat faster and faster nearer and nearer I got. When I reached the candle I heard the thud of the door shut behind me. When I looked back in a panic, I noticed that the candle blew out. Shit. Shit shit shit. The only word I could think played on repeat in my head as I felt a hand grip my wrist and forcefully pushed me to the nearest wall. It was not hard, hell barely even hurt, I was just forced so quickly it took me by surprise that a small noise escaped my lips as my back tapped the wall. When I opened my eyes I faintly made out the figure in the dark, it was Lord Sesshomaru. He forced me against the wall more and more as he got closer. Soon, his chest was against mine, and I noticed his was bare. My face fgot hot again as my anger and confustion dissolved.
"S-Sesshomaru...I...what-" I began to ask, but soon his face was right in front of mine. I felt weak again.
"Time to hold up on your word..." the words poured out of his mouth like a snake. I just remember feeling his hands wonder my body until there were yet again on my kimono belt. As if he had done this many times before, nothing new about untying a belt, he soon ripped off the first layer. I stay still as he placed his lips on my collar bone, soft and warm. A tingle went up my spine, knees getting weak as my arms naturally crawled up his shoulders to place tightly around his neck. With a chuckle he worked his way up my neck, but not before the second layer of my kimono was slid off my shoulders. There was only the final, white underwear layer. I closed my eyes from the pleasant sensation of his hands working their way to the final belt. However the mood soon shifted when he pulled away and let go of the belt. As dased and confused as I was I could see him hovering in front of me with a grin on his face. I found myself catching my breath, why did he stop? I saw he was only half dressed, he smugly shifted his long silver hair behind his back as he spoke. "You can handle what I can? Seems like you gave in pretty easy..." began to turn away, thats when something clicked. Just because he was playing games does not mean I was going to loose. He started this, so he needed to end it. My legs became strong in my stance as I took a step froward and grabbed the belt from his kimono. He paused and looked back, a mischeivious glaze in his eyes and I stepped to him.
"And it seems like you quit too soon. Makes me wonder if you retreat in battle." I jeered at him. His expression went serious, but his eyes said otherwise. By this time I released my grasp from him and then turned to my own belt, untying and letting the layer fall to the ground with a gentle plop. I charged forward and clasped my hand firmly around the back of his neck and locked my lips with his, before he could banter further. The motion forced us both to the ground, me atop him, as he quickly began to-
