Sixteen years later

"To your left! No! The left!"

He flew into the wall with a large thud, before crumpling to the ground in a heap. He was a young dragon, a deep shade of emerald green fur, before fading into a deep forest green at the end of his tail. His chest was a deep shade of purple, trailing down his stomach, and ending just after the base of his tail, and two dark green ears, peeked up, listening intently. He had two jagged patches of stunning blue fur underneath his eyes, as well as his paws dipped into the same stunning ice blue. Two amethyst horns jutted from the top of his head, slowly sloping up, then sharply turning down. On his left leg, a silver bracket clung right above his paw, an X like shape was ingraved on it, and a necklace, with the light and dark symbols. He grunted and stood up, showing off his beautiful light pink eyes, glaring at another dragon, just the same age as him.

She was a dark grey, almost seen as black from afar, but once up close, it's not quite black. A light grey chest, that reaches down to the bade of her tail. Two horns that curve up slightly, the same shade of grey as her chest. Two amethyst eyes that gave a hard glare, ones that don't show mercy. Two gold peircings are hooked to her left ear, as well as a necklace hanging from her neck, a small, tear drop stone attached to the end, the same shade of amethyst as her eyes.

"What the hell Sirius!? You were suppose to cover me!" The green dragon shouted, before ducking as a steam of fire belted his way.

The black dragon, named by Sirius, scoffed and dodged to the side, narrowly avoiding a shot of plasma.

"Me cover you? Im all the way at the other side of the clearing! tried to warn you about it! But did you listen? No." She spat, weaving through the blasts of fire and poison.

Alec rolled his eyes, before pounding his tail at the earth, bringing up a large rock, and flinging it at the source of the attacks.

Two other dragons, the same age, stood at the other end of the clearing, shooting a wide range of attacks towards Alec and Sirius.

One was midnight black, so dark, that even when the sun danced off her fur, it would still gleam at a dark shade. Two, shining silver horns jutted just right behind her jet black ears, going straight back, before curving in at a wide angle, almost touching each other at the end. She had a lilac purple chest, that trailed all the way to the tip of her tail, and purple that trailed up her face, stopping at her cheek bones, and all the way up to her forehead. Her front two paws were a shade of silver, barely going up her forearms, and on her elbows, a tuff of gray fur stuck out from the pitch black fur. Metal bracers were tight right above her paws, gleaming in the sun. Her blood red eyes showing excitement as she shot another blast of plasma at the other team.

The other had deep, purple fur, making her look as dark as the midnight sky. Her paws, and tips of her ears looked as if they were dipped into fire itself, with the brilliant red that showed. Her chest was a gold, reaching all the way to the end of her tail, and along her back was a red like of fur, slightly longer than her purple. Her eyes were a mix of gold and blue, shining with delight. A red scarf like object was wrapped around her neck, hanging loosely, blowing with the wind.

They both wore a similar grin, both thinking the same thing. 'This is way to easy'.

"Ready Jewel?" "Lets do it Luna."

The dark purple one, Jewel, started off, sprinting with ease towards Alec and Sirius, who seemed to have taken up another argument. Luna, at a much slower pace, followed behind Jewel.

Suddenly jumping high up, Jewel gave a jerk, and twisted in the air, lighting up a fire and engulfing herself in it. Luna skidded behind her, giving a harsh grunt of force. She opened her maw and let a crackling, sharp lightning spew from her maw. Using her tail, Luna, along with Jewel, sent a burst of flames and lightning towards the bickering duo.

Alec, turned swiftly towards the sound of the lightning, and quickly surrounded himself in rock armor, placing himself in between the lightning and Sirius. The lightning hit the ground by Alec, but still did a number on the green dragon, as the rocks cracked, and started to melt into molten lava at the heat of the electricity. The fire on the other hand, hit the wall, four feet away from Alec and Sirius.

Luna whipped her head over to look at Jewel, who in response, refused to look at Luna, embarrassment written all over her face. Rolling her eyes, as soon as Luna looked back at the other team, a rock smashed into her, making her roll back, and knocking the wind out of her.

Jewel, to try and counteract the onslaught of ice and earth attacks, spewed fire at the ground, causing a massive wave of fire, making impossible to see through. If you weren't a fire dragon. She kept spewing fire attacks towards the two, as Luna recovered, missing quite a few times, but making a hit once or twice.

Growing frustrated, Jewel kept firing, missing more and more, until her mouth burned, and her fire dissipated. Panting, she let out a low curse as the onslaught started up once more.

"A little help Luna!" She yelled, voice hoarse from the excessive fire. Luna, wheezing, jolted up and was by Jewel's side, spewing plasma and lighting at the other team.

Both sides were growing tired. Alec, more than once, stepped on Sirius's tail, causing another fight between the two, to which Luna and Jewel would take advantage, but either Jewel would miss, or Luna would miss by an inch, get angry, and shoot out plasma bombs at the other team out of anger, not caring if she missed or not, just to let out a bit of steam.

After two hours of fighting, and both teams slouching, almost out of breath, but determined to continue, a coarse, rough voice yelled through the arena.

"Halt! Training is over."

The four dragons looked over towards the voice, to see they're father, a dark blue dragon, scales shining bright in the sun.

"I am quite disappointed. Alec, Sirius, for most of the fight, you two argued, instead of focusing on the real threat in front of you." He scolded. "In a real fight, that would get you killed."

The two dragons in question both looked down, refusing to look at each other.

Suddenly, Sirius blurted out, "He's just so infuriating! He doesn't listen to me, he talks all the time, he always makes jokes at the worst moments, and he never pays attention! Tribex, I just can't work with him!"

Tribex looked at the two with a hard gaze, refusing to take her excuse. "You both are exceptional fighters, perfect for fighting with one another, but you let your spite guide your actions."

Sirius let out a tisk, and refused to meet anyone's eye, feeling embarrassed to loose in such a way.

Alec looked at his father with excitement, "don't worry! I'll do better next time!" With his signature grin, he laughed about the loss as if it were nothing.

Tribex shook his head, and let a little grin pass. "I'm sure you will, Alec. Luna, Jewel." He looked at the other team with a gleam in his eyes. "Not too bad. Though, you two were sloppy at the deliver, were uncoordinated, and never put up protections, not bad."

He grinned as the two slouched over in defeat, as Alec snickered and Sirius smirked over.

"Now! In a few weeks, I have a surprise for you all," he started, watching as all the dragons ears perked up with interest, "though, I'm not telling you what it is yet. You have to earn it. Take your training seriously, and show me that you are able to fight like the best warriors." He said as he looked over the four young dragons, as they all puffed up, ready to fight till the death.

He nodded at them, seeing that his point was put across. "You all start tomorrow with your advanced training. There will be no fighting," he glanced at Sirius and Alec, "no charging blindly," he switched his gaze to Jewel and Luna, "and there will be no malice in any of this. If any of you have a problem, consider the surprise, over." He stated bluntly, strictly, and sharply.

Each young dragon gulped, muttering a "yes sir." They glanced at one another, as if pleading to each other to behave. They've never had a present before since they're sixth hatch-day, when Tribex had given them the items they're real parents had left them with.

Soon, after the worry was gone, they were replaced with adrenaline. What was the surprise?
