Chapter 9:

A Temporal Turnabout, Part 1

12:10 PM

20th December

Hall of Origin – Courtroom

As Terrakion left the courtroom, Arceus used her powers to slam down the gavel to give her next announcement to the courtroom. With a loud slam, everyone's attention is caught by Arceus, turning their heads towards her.

"Now, with all of that sorted out, I'll like the prosecution to bring forth their next witness." She stated serious with her eyes closed. "Is that fine with you?"

Reshiram nodded, stepping forward metaphorically for the prosecution bench. "That is fine, your Honour." She remarked calmly despite the events beforehand. Simon had his back onto the bench whilst once again was inspecting a microphone intently. "The prosecution now calls our main witnesses."

Athena frowned, confused by what Reshiram had just said. "…'Witnesses'? Does that mean that some other Legends are going to testify with Celebi?" she thought to herself inquisitively, wondering what sort of tactic the prosecution is going to throw out next.
"It's weird…..I thought we only had Celebi….who else could turn up?" Mesprit questioned out loud, just enough for her, Athena and Keldeo to hear. "We don't know any other witnesses to the crime..."

Keldeo said nothing, thinking over the events that came before this and what Mesprit had just said. He then noticed that the door to the courtroom had suddenly opened, and the witnesses were coming in. "Well, here's our chance to find out!"

There were three new witnesses on the stand, just like the Swords of Justice last time. As expected, Celebi was on the stand, taking the middle. With her scarf around her neck, she shivered nervously as her eyes darted around the courtroom in what seems to be paranoia. Bags can be seen under her eyes, probably from lack of sleep.

Secondly, surprisingly, Genesect appeared as the second witness. Taking the stand next to Celebi on her right, the cybernetic bug looked calm as he adjusted his eye sensors to fit his vision better according to the courtroom's lighting. A small hologram of a menu screen was projected out of his eye sensors and occasionally the lights coming from there would brighten or darken.

Thirdly and finally, and this is the most surprising of all, Dialga took the stand to the left of Celebi. Athena stood in awe of the temporal dragon, who stood there calmly and motionlessly, staring at Arceus with occasional blinking.

"Witness!" Lugia started, crossing his wings and grinning. Grabbing the microphone, he moves around with a beat. "Please state your names and occupations! And since we're at it, state what nation or region where you station!"

"Did... he just rap?" Athena thought to herself, surprised by this. She looked over to Simon, who just shrugged.

"Oh!" Genesect started off, a bit surprised, turning off the mini-hologram. "Um… I'm Genesect, the Legendary Paleozoic Pokémon!"

Genesect then itched his head, confused. "I…don't really have a job? I just help around with the other Legends when they need help! I'm… still trying to find my purpose…" Genesect admitted, somewhat embarrassed. He then gained a determined look. "But I try my best! I'm from Unova, like the Swords of Justice are from!"

Next, it was Celebi's turn to do her statement. "U-u-um…E-e-err…!" Celebi blabbed, sputtering nervously as her eyes quickly looked around the courtroom. Seeing that Celebi was about to panic, Dialga turned to her with a kind smile.

"Shh… it'll be alright…" Dialga remarked softly to Celebi, which surprised Athena since Dialga spoke with a feminine tone in her voice. Athena always saw Dialga as male, so it was a surprise to see Dialga as female.

"Dialga's a girl? Wow, things really aren't what you expect from what you see in the games and anime… then again, perhaps the rapping Legendary Pokemon should've tipped me off on that one." she thought to herself.

Taking a deep breath to calm down, Celebi swallowed down the air to gain confidence. "I… am Celebi." The time travelling Legend started, slowly but hesitantly, looking much calmer than usually. "I am in charge…of travelling through time and making sure that no one goes back in time to… mess with things. I also take care of the Hall of Origin's garden..."

Celebi looked around once more. "…also, I'm from Johto."

Lastly, it was Dialga's turn. "I am Dialga." She stated seriously, a cold and steely expression in her eyes could be seen. Dialga's stare was so serious that she made Athena flinched when the two's gaze met each over.

"GEEZ!" Athena thought to herself shocked and nervously, rather scared off Dialga's glare. "She's scary as hell! What pissed her off in her favorite timeline?"

"I am responsible for the time stream in our universe." Dialga stated. "I make sure everything that has happened stays the same and no one has gone back and change time. I can see what has happened and what will happen…"

Dialga frowned, looking a little bit down. This took Athena off guard, wondering why the temporal dragon's heart was so sad. "Anyway, I am from the Sinnoh region, where the Hall of Origin is located." Dialga finished off, calmly and seriously.

Arceus nodded, looking somewhat confused. "I do believe that there was only supposed to be the one witness!" she affirmed out loud, turning towards the Prosecution. "I was told this before the trial!"

"You're right there, Your Honour…" Simon stated out loud, back to the defence as usual. He then turned round with a confident smirk on his face. "We have one 'main' witness."

"Eh?" Keldeo went, surprised by this, jumping back in response. "What do you mean by that?"

"What I mean is, Keldeo-Dono, is that Celebi-San is the 'main' witness. She did see what happened after all." Simon explained, continuing to smirk but with a mischievous aura behind it this time. "However, Genesect and Dialga are 'side' witness. Since Genesect was outside the garden when the incident, he will fill in what he heard if you question him on part of Celebi-San's testimony. Dialga on the other hand is here is here to comfit Celebi since they're related to time. If Celebi happens to be bothered by Cykes-Dono's excessive chirping at some point, Dialga will answer for Celebi!"

"Excessive… chirping...? Why does everyone think that I'm a bird?" Athena thought to herself, sweating nervously. "Well, it's a step up from being a banana."

Genesect scratched the back of his robotic head, looking somewhat calm though Athena could hear a nervous beat in his heart. "Though I didn't see what happened myself, I'll still try my best with my part in the testimony!" Genesect remarked, filled with determination.

"Whatever that Celebi needs to say but she can't say it herself, I'll be here to speak it out, Your Honour." Dialga stated seriously, bowing to Arceus as she said this.

Arceus nodded, satisfied with the explanation that the prosecution gave her. "Now then, with that settled with…" she started off diligently, raising her gavel up in the air. "Witness Celebi. Please do give your testimony."

Celebi said nothing, simply nodding. "Hmm…" Mesprit went, staring at Celebi with an inquisitive look. "I'm feeling a lot of anxiety coming from Celebi… do you hear the same thing, Athena?"

Athena nodded, thinking hard on what Celebi could say within her testimony. Keldeo had a 'that's pretty obvious' expression on his face after he heard what Mesprit said. "Well, anyone who's kind would have anxiety after witnessing a murder, getting threatened and then having to talk about it! Celebi must be feeling fine about it!" Keldeo remarked, sarcastically as he turned to face where the witness are standing.

"…Whatever Celebi says now could change the entire case…" Athena thought to herself, determined to find the truth. "I need to find out what's hiding behind what she saw, and reveal the truth!"

Witness Testimony: What I Saw

Celebi: I headed to the Hall of Origin's garden, at 7:55PM, with Genesect.

Celebi: It was my… watering time for my plants, and I like to keep on schedule.

Celebi: Genesect stood outside the garden to activate the hose for my once I found it.

Celebi: …B-but t-then I s-saw a terrible sight! Ash and Cresselia….! DEAD!

Celebi: A-and t-t-there… s-s-stood… in… the m-m-middle of t-the garden…

Celebi: …DARKRAI! AND HE WAS COVERED IN BLOOD!

Celebi: He came over to me…And he strangled ME!

Celebi: He told me that if I were to tell anyone this…

Celebi: …HE WOULD TAKE ME OUT HIMSELF!

Celebi: He then left….and I screamed out in terror…

The Courtroom burst into chatter in response of Celebi's testimony, horrified and surprised upon what Celebi had saw. The prosecution looked confident, with Lugia smirking confidently, Reshiram thinking calmly with her arms crossed and Simon itching Taka's neck again.

Meanwhile, Keldeo and Mesprit look nervous, having heard nothing contradictory in Celebi's testimony. "I…..can't see anything WRONG!" he exclaimed, getting in a panic, breathing getting heavy. "That testimony's perfect! If Darkrai's truly innocent, this testimony is hard to beat!"

Mesprit, a lot calmer than Keldeo, shook her head to make herself concentrate. With a determined look, she recalled the testimony in her head clearly. "It's gonna be tough but I believe in Darkrai!" she stated seriously, filled with determination.

Athena, though determined herself, looked rather puzzled. "I'm hearing a lot of sadness in Celebi's heart…maybe it's time for that…"

Arceus slammed down her gavel with her powers, to silence the court. "Hmm." She started, thinking about the testimony that was given. "That was a solid testimony. If this was any other courtroom, I think the verdict would be handed down immediately…"

"Yikes! Talk about hasty!" the attorney in yellow thought to herself in a shocked manner. However, it seemed that Arceus had more to say.

"…however, this is my courtroom and even though the testimony is solid, I prefer if all doubts are cleared away, even the smallest of ones." Arceus finished up calmly. "Defense, proceed with your cross-examination."

"HOLD IT, Your Honour!" Athena interjected quickly, surprising everyone. "Before we start, I hear too much sadness in Celebi's heart! I would like to put her into some 'therapy' before we start the cross-examination!"

OBJECTION!

Reshiram pointed out with a serious and annoyed face. "Your Honour, seriously? A therapy session?" she scoffed. "The defense is wasting time before cross-examination! Evidently, they're trying to buy time to figure out Celebi's solid testimony."

Arceus paused for a moment, with her eyes closed. She then opened them, looking serious. "Overruled." She simply said, causing a big 'WHAT?' from Reshiram almost instantly after. "I'm aware of Ms Cykes' Mood Matrix. A certain little bird told me before the trial to expect it when the word 'therapy' comes up from Ms Cykes…"

Athena quickly looked over to Simon, who had a smirk on his face while still itching Taka's chin. "Simon…..thank you."

"…so, Ms Cykes. I would request that you would more honest next time you want to use the Mood Matrix." Arceus stated sternly, looking at Athena. "But, in the meantime, please start your… Mood Matrix."

Athena nodded, bringing out and activating Widget. Almost immediately, a small hologram of a smiley face appeared out of Widget, with half of its face coloured black. Soon, a larger hologram appeared, big enough to cover the entirety of the defense desk.

Keldeo and Mesprit gasped in awe of the Mood Matrix, which has turned Celebi's testimony into images. Athena frowned, as she saw a problem arising.

"Just as I thought…" She murmured to herself, looking concerned at what's appearing on the screen. "Celebi's emotions are out of control on her testimony!"

Keldeo, unsure what Athena meant, saw that the noise level for the testimony was 100% and is clogged up with the Sadness and Shock icons. "What the-?!" he started, shocked by this.

Mesprit frowned, looking intently at the images that rolled by through the testimony. "I guess we need to find what's out of place…I think?" she asked, unsure of what's happening. Athena said nothing, just nodded in response. With that, Athena, Mesprit and a learning Keldeo examined Celebi's testimony through the Mood Matrix.

I headed to the Hall of Origin's garden, at 7:55PM, with Genesect.

The shadow transformed into Darkrai, who was covered in blood, from his blood hair plume and covered in dots to a dead look in his eye. Three massive beeps of sadness and shock are shown here.

He came over to me… And he strangled ME!

Keldeo grimaced as he looked at the images that the Mood Matrix conjured up. "Geez, some of these pictures are the stuff of nightmares." he stated, somewhat horrified by what he's seeing. He turned to Athena, who's scrolling through the images. "…So, what are we supposed to do here?"

"We need to find out what image stands out from the rest…" Athena explained, concentrating hard on the Mood Matrix. "…Celebi's testimony is getting clogged up with her emotions, so we need to find what's out of place…"

Mesprit thought for a moment after hearing that, then pointed towards the screen. "Go to the fourth image, please?" she asked, noticing something odd within the series of images. Athena complied with Mesprit's request and switched over to the fourth image, which is the fourth statement within Celebi's testimony. Mesprit smiled a little. "There's four beeps here, instead of three. There's something in this part that's causing Celebi to feel more sadness and shock!"

Athena snapped her fingers, accepting what Mesprit had said.

GOT IT!

"Celebi, I got a question for you." Athena started off calmly, looking over to Celebi as she began her line of question. Celebi jumped in surprise, previously fiddling with her scarf before being questioned. "In the fourth part of your testimony, you seemed a bit sadder and more shocked than normal. Why did you feel like that?"

Celebi cocked her head, looking confused. "I'm not sure how you were able to tell that…" She answered, looking unsure at Athena as Genesect and Dialga turned their heads to look at the time travelling Legend. "…but... I think it has to do with 'that'…"

"Huh? What do you mean?" Keldeo questioned, looking confused as much as Celebi, even to the point of cocking his head.

"….Well, the a-a-area t-that the bodies were lying…" Celebi started, stuttering a little whilst nervous. "…there happens to be a certain plant that grows where the bodies are. The berries are produced are…very dangerous. They would explode if they hit the ground outside of the dirt hard enough. They w-would also cause the bush t-to e-explode due to the shockwaves…. It would cause a huge explosion…"

The courtroom burst into murmurs which quickly died down. Celebi frowned a little. "I was worried at first that Ash and Cresselia might had been killed by the berries exploding and I was responsible for their deaths… but I then saw Darkrai…"

Simon nodded, looking calm. "Though I was not aware of such plants in this world, how you felt at first is natural." He bluntly but carefully stated. "No wonder you felt like that."

"My question is, why would you even want to grow such a berry?" Athena had to ponder in her head.

"Tch…" Dialga went, looking to the side. "Almost every Legend in the Hall knows those berries that Celebi's talking about. Some of us big ones aren't allowed near them because our mere footsteps make them fall unless we're gentle."

"T-they w-were certainly there before the party..." Celebi mentioned, calming down a little. However, Athena frowned, seeing that the noise level for Celebi's emotions have gone down…

NOISE LEVEL 50%

…But yet, she sense a contradiction has arisen. "Guess I have to point it out. Good thing I know where it is…" she thought to herself, as Celebi's emotions have calmed down enough to show how she felt about the events leading up to the murder.

Keldeo and Mesprit continue to look through the images with more confusion. There doesn't seem to be a contradiction that they can see. Mesprit sweats a little nervously, heart rate rising little due to the pressure of trying to find a contradiction.

"Geez, this lawyer stuff is harder than I expected… I can't see any contradiction!" she remarked, brain working overtime to try and find out what's wrong. Keldeo remained silent, looking through a list of the evidence that he wrote to see what's contradicting in the picture.

"Hmmm… Huh?" he went, noticing Athena checking her Court Record. Smiling, she once again snapped her fingers.

GOT IT!

Athena slammed down on the table, staring at Celebi. "Celebi, there's a clear contradiction between your testimony and the evidence!" Athena interjected, looking serious. Celebi blinked, confused on what's being said.

"Athena, what do you mean by that?" Lugia questioned curiously, holding the microphone to one side. Athena pulled out the image of Ash's body, which shows the bush behind him.

"The witness has testified that one of the reasons why she was shocked and upset is that she thought that Ash and Cresselia were killed by the exploding berry bush…" Athena began, thinking carefully on what to say. She then raised the image of Ash's body. "However, if you check the image of Ash's body, the bush that his body was found against HAS NO BERRIES!"

"WHAT?!" Celebi screamed out loud, shocked by this. Her screaming caused both Dialga and Genesect to jump away her in fright, causing the latter of the two witness to fall over.

OBJECTION!

"Does it really matter that the bush had the exploding berries or not?!" Reshiram pointed out, annoyed that the defence is getting an advantage. "As far as we know, Darkrai could have picked them quickly before killing the victims or even destroyed them!"

OBJECTION!

"There wouldn't be possible to simply picked them!" Keldeo interjected, getting what Athena is trying to say. "These berries are dangerous! If Darkrai were to pick them quickly, since he was in a rush, he could had dropped them and hurt himself!"

"And even if Darkrai were to destroy them….." Mesprit went, looking determined. "…..they would have caused a huge explosion! Everyone would have heard the explosion over the music! No matter wherever you were in the Hall, the explosion would have been heard!"

"ACK!" Reshiram spluttered out loud, realizing her mistake. Lugia crossed his wings while holding the microphone.

"But the point that the bush had exploding berries or not still stands. Does it matter if the bush had them or not?" he questioned, more clearly and calmly than Reshiram had pointed out.

Athena nodded, looking determined. "Of course! And I can show the evidence with this!" she stated, pulling out the image of Ash's body again.

TAKE THAT!

"Please take a closer look at the bush in this image!" Athena pointed out, a large hologram appearing up for everyone to see. "As you can clearly see, there's some damage to the bush, to the side of bush, where Ash fell after being killed!"

"So?" Simon went, looking curious at the image. It only took him a few seconds to realize what was wrong, and he quickly changed to his position of acting like he's been slashed with a sword. "…GRAGH! What's the meaning of this?!"

Athena grinned, looking confident. "It seems like the main prosecutor gets it! It's clear that Ash's body crashed onto bush after being killed!" Athena started out, looking determined. "If the berries were truly there, that means when Ash' body fell onto the bush, it would have caused an explosion, totalling Ash's body, harming the killer, and alerting everyone! So, the question is now…"

Athena pointed out at Celebi, who jumped out in fright at being pointed at. "…why is Celebi so certain that the berries are there, when they're clearly not!"

"GACK!" Celebi screamed out, pulling a little too hard on her scarf as the Courtroom burst into chatter.

"Athena, you did it!" Mesprit called out, looking at the Mood Matrix. "Celebi's emotions aren't clogging up her testimony anymore!"

NOISE LEVEL 0%

BYE BYE

Keldeo slammed down on the table, looking serious at Celebi. "Celebi, explain this!" he demanded, seriously.

"I-I-I don't know!" Celebi stuttered, looking around nervously, clutching her head whilst trying to think. "T-t-they were there before the murder….Oh!"

"…this can't be good…" Athena pondered, feeling concerned in Celebi's sudden change in mood. Celebi gained a small smile.

"You see, my garden is a lot complicated than it looks at first!" Celebi explained, looking proud of herself. "Underneath the floor is a machine that allows the beds of the plants to be moved around!

Say for example I wanted to move an Oran Berry tree from one corner of my garden to the other. Instead of uprooting the plants, the machine simply moves the plants around for me!"

"WHAT?! THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE!" both Mesprit and Athena yell out in shock. Lugia turned his head gently over to Celebi.

"So, how do you switch the plants around?" he asked, curious by this. "I presume that there's a control console somewhere near the garden?"

Celebi nodded, looking determined. "Yes, there's one near the entrance of the garden! Just enter a password in and you can switch over the plants! It's hidden away in the way so only the ones who know it's there can access it!" Celebi cheerfully declared, looking happy. Her happy tone then drops, looking sad. "Darkrai must have found out my password… I haven't told anyone else about my password…"

Garden Machine added to Court Record.

"So, there answers my question, Ms Cykes." Reshiram smirked confidently. "The exploding berries do not matter in this case! Darkrai simply moved them over to prevent them from possibly harming him!"

"ACK!" Athena yelled out in shock, realizing things are getting worse for Darkrai. Mesprit said nothing, turning invisible in shock.

Arceus nodded, taking the information in. "Hmm…." Arceus said, looking calm. "That is a fair point that the prosecution has made. Looks like we're back to page one on the matter. If the defense can't fight back with the prosecution's argument, I'll have no choice but to give out my verdict."

"Crap!" Athena thought, not able to find anything contradictory in what was be revealed. Hands shaking, sweat running, her mind just turns blank. "…I can't think of anything…..What am I going to do?!"

OBJECTION!

Athena turned to see Keldeo pointing out, looking determined. "Your Honour, you can't give out the verdict yet!" Keldeo announced out loud seriously. Arceus turned to him and blinked.

"Why not?" She asked, confused by this objection.

"The knowledge of the garden's machine was not known by the defense nor the prosecution until a few minutes ago!" Keldeo declared, showing what he knows in an effective manner. "Ergo, this is a revelation that needs to be explored! How did the killer find out about the control console for the machine? How did the killer know about the machine? Did they know how to operate the machine? Since Celebi is the one that uses it the most, she's the one that can only answer these questions!"

Keldeo slammed down on the table. "Until these questions are answered, there's no justifying an early verdict!"

Arceus nodded, agreeing with Keldeo. "Indeed. That would be rushing ahead of time. An early verdict could be the wrong verdict after all." Arceus stated seriously. She then looked over to Celebi. "Witness, can you give us a testimony on how the machine in the Hall of Origin's garden works, and how Darkrai could have accessed it, if he was the killer?"

Celebi nodded, nervously, saying nothing while she looked around the courtroom in paranoia. Genesect had finally gotten up from falling on the floor, having listened to the whole thing on the floor. "This is getting exciting! I hope I get to help!"

"Keldeo!" Athena exclaimed to the said former Sword of Justice. "You really saved us there! If it weren't for you, we would have…"

"It's nothing, honestly!" Keldeo went sheepishly. "I just can't let this trial end too soon! There's something amiss here, I can sense it! And I'm not going to let it end just yet!"

Mesprit re-appeared, looking like she's filled with determination. "We need to strike back on what Celebi says next!"

Athena nodded, turning her gaze over to the said temporal travelling Legendary. "Whatever comes next, I'll be here to fight back the contradictions!"

Cresselia's Autopsy Report: Cause of death: A sudden twist to the neck resulting the spine to be snapped instantly. Victim is to be thought to have lived some few minutes before dying. Time of Death: 7:30

Cresselia's Gap Time: Cresselia left the party at 6:50pm and was due to arrive back at 7:10pm, but died at 7:30pm in the garden. Cresselia was at Darkrai's room at 7:00 to check on him but left for the garden at 7:05PM

Celebi's Timetable: Celebi's guide to show when she needs to water her plants. The last one each day is five to eight in the evening. There's a copy of it everywhere, so the murderer could have seen it...

Celebi's Data: Has had sleeping problems for the last week, and is now prone to attacking others while sleeping. She also has a bruise going round her entire neck from what happened on the night of the murder.

Blackmail Letter: A blackmail letter in a very complex code of writing, in Unown lettering and the letters are can be translated by flipping the alphabet backwards. It's a blackmail letter to the Swords of Justice, excluding Keldeo, threatening to reveal to Arceus about what happened with Kyurem. None of the Legendaries' handwriting match.

Ash's Hat: The hat that Ash wore to the party was the one he wore in Kanto, but the hat discovered at the scene was the Kalos hat. Why is it different?

Bush Notes: The top of the bush next to where Ash's body was found has the top of it clipped off, if something went flying above it while cutting the top off.

Darkrai's Testimony: 'At 7:10 PM, I was in the shower when I heard a knock at my door. When I went to answer it, I heard a noise which then afterwards I blacked out. When I woke up, I was back in my shower, cold and clammy. The shower wasn't working and I saw that the time was 8:20PM. Genesect then turned up afterwards'.

Ash's Autopsy: Cause of Death: Lost of blood due to three large gashes found on body. Move used is guessed to be used to kill is Shadow Claw. Time of Death: 7:25PM. Note, spine of victim was broke post-mortem, which the cause of it is currently unknown.

List of Renters: The list of who took out the Zoology of Legends recently. Before the murder, Uxie and Zekrom. After the murder, Mewtwo, Cobalion, Deoxys, Kyurem and Mesprit.

Garden Machine: A large machine located under the garden, which switches around the plants when necessary. Celebi thinks the exploding berry bush was swapped for something else before the murder.

Profiles:

Athena Cykes: That's me! A greenhorn attorney still fresh from a big case, and had been dragged into the Pokémon World to defend a Legendary Pokémon. I would have never expected this… ever.

Phoenix Wright: My boss, and the Head of the Wright & Co Law Offices. The attorney for Darkrai on the third day. Will do anything to find the truth, though he is sarcastic most of the time.

Apollo Justice: My co-worker, and a fellow attorney. He's the attorney for Darkrai on the second day. He yells a lot but he means well.

Simon Blackquill: A former prisoner and a prosecutor who's a close friend of mine. He's my opponent for the first day of Darkrai's trial. Kinda scary sometimes but he's really nice.

Klavier Gavin: A musician who is also a Prosecutor, and Apollo's opponent on the second day. I think he's great, though Apollo doesn't like him. I wonder why?

Miles Edgeworth: The Chief Prosecutor for L.A., an old rival for my boss, and the prosecutor for the last day. His skills as a Prosecutor are legendary.

Mesprit: The Emotion Legendary, and my partner for my investigation! She's very kind, a bit shy and soft-spoken though...

Arceus: The leader of the Legends Order, and the Pokémon God of the Pokémon world. Serious and firm, apparently Arceus is a female despite me seeing the 12th Movie...

Giratina: A Legendary Pokémon that's a large dragon. Quite blunt and sarcastic sometimes, he cares for Darkrai. Despite his hardened shell, he's actually quite kind.

Genesect: A Legendary that resembles a robotic insect. Acts weird for some reason.

Darkrai: The Nightmare Pokémon, and the defendant for this case. Despite his looks and reputation, he's quite nice, though slightly anti-social. He's sometimes bullied by the other Legends for his nightmare powers.

Ash Ketchum: The main protagonist for the Pokémon Anime, the Chosen One for the Legendaries, and one of the victims. Was here in the Hall of Origin for a party celebrated in his honor.

Cresselia: Darkrai's counterpart, and the other victim. Was one of the Legends who didn't care about his powers.

Cobalion: A Sword of Justice, and one of the investigators for the crime scene, or how I would put it, the Detective for the case. He, Terrakion and Virizion are getting blackmailed into obtaining evidence to prove Darkrai's guilt no matter what.

Celebi: A friendly Legendary who's the witness to the crime, which she was almost strangled. Seems to become frightened when asked to recall what happened. Maybe she has PTSD?

Keldeo: The youngest Sword of Justice. He's torn between helping his masters, and a fair trial for Darkrai. He doesn't know his masters are getting blackmailed...

Lugia: The Guardian of the Sea, and one of the investigators for the Prosecution. Wanting to find the truth, and apparently a good rapper...

Virizion: A Sword of Justice, and one of the investigators, who's going round with Simon. She, Terrakion and Cobalion are getting blackmailed.

Terrakion: A Sword of Justice, and the only one who's not been a jerk to the Defense team. He's revealed why they've been acting like that, which is due to blackmail.

Pikachu: He is Ash's first Pokémon and his best friend. Is unable to talk due to an overload of shock and grief in response to Ash's death.

Buneary: One of Dawn's Pokémon, and the one who is looking after Pikachu at the moment. She's actually quite sweet and cute when you get to know her.

Kyurem: Haven't actual talked with him yet but he seems quite respected among the Legendaries. He seems to be shocked about the murders...
