Chapter 24
It was already morning. Charles was sleeping on the couch while Hestia was sitting on the chair next to Sean's bed. Her hands were placed on his hands. She was leaning back on the chair with her eyes closed. They didn't notice when Sean slowly opens his eyes. He looked around for a moment noticing his mom and Charles. He blinked a couple of times trying to remember what happened. "Mom." He weakly called. His head felt like splitting in half. Hestia didn't hear him.
He tried to move his left hand but noticed that it was cast. He felt panicked trying to remember what happened to him. He abruptly tried to move his body. "Oww!" He reacted when he felt pain in his movement. Hestia suddenly woke up. "Sean." Hestia called with teary eyes. "Don't try to move honey. Just lay down." She said as she squeezed his son's hand. Confusion was drawn to Sean. He glanced at his body. He noticed the bruises and the gauze that was wrapped against it. He lifts his hand to feel his head which was also wrapped with gauze.
"How are you feeling?" She asked. "I feel like crap. My whole body hurts." "Sean." Charles called who is now awake. "How are you feeling?" Instead of answering he studied his brother. "You're hurt too." Sean noticed. Charles half smiled and nodded. "This was nothing." Charles said gesturing to his bruises. "Compared to what happened to you. Did you remember what happened last night?"
Sean closed his eyes for a moment trying to remember. Thinking with his head wanting to explode was quite hard. Hestia notices the reaction of his son. "Are you okay?" She asked. "It is just my head mom, I can't think properly." She turned to look at Charles. "I'll go call a doctor." He said and leaves the room. Hestia caresses his son's face. She smiled at him. Immediately one by one Sean remembers what happen to him last night. "What is it honey?" Hestia asked.
"Four guys they…" He trailed off remembering the way they had beaten him. "I didn't know them. I didn't know what I had done to them." He said bitterly. Hestia silently cried. "I'm sorry mom. I didn't want to worry you." He said noticing that her mother was crying. She shook her head. "Don't apologize for something that it is not your fault." She wiped away her tears. Absentmindedly he touched his wound on his left side. A shiver went to his body went he remembers the stab. Hestia lifted his right hand and kissed it. "Let's be thankful that you're okay now." She said.
The door opens and Charles enters together with a doctor and a nurse. They examined Sean for a while. The doctor asked him a few questions. When the doctor was done, the nurse changed Sean's gauze and cleaned his bruises. They gave him medicine to drink. The doctor said that Sean is fine and nothing to worry about. He just needs to rest and heal. As soon as they leave, Hestia tried to feed Sean with food but he objected. He doesn't want to eat complaining that he is not hungry.
Hestia scolded him telling him that he needs to eat. After debating Sean finally gave in, pouting like a little boy. Charles chuckled seeing him. He returns to the couch and lay down. He then remembers to text the others.
At Thalia's house
Annabeth lie awake on her bed. She was waken up a while ago from her nightmares. She stared at the ceiling trying to think when her phone beeps. She immediately grabs it and read the message. It was from Charles. She let out a deep sigh upon reading that Sean was now awake. She felt relieved. She glanced at the clock it was now 7 in the morning. It is still a weekend so she doesn't have work today. She slowly got out from her bed and went to the bathroom.

She tried to open the door and it was unlock so she enters. She saw Thalia deep in sleep. Annabeth tries to wake her up. "Go away!" Thalia hissed. "Oh come on wake up!" Annabeth demanded. "Get out of my room Chase!" Thalia snarled. "Get up!" Annabeth yelled and pulled the covers from Thalia.
Knowing that Annabeth won't give up from waking her, "What time is it anyway?" She asked. "It's already 8 in the morning." She said and sat at the foot of her bed. "What's with you waking me up?" Thalia asked. "He's awake." She smiled and tears were silently falling from her cheeks. "Hey it's all right." Thalia said and hugs Annabeth. "That's good news isn't it. Don't cry." She said rubbing Annabeth's back.

See you in the hospital." Annabeth said. Thalia just gestured an okay sign from her hands and went back to sleeping. Annabeth smiled and shook her head. She then got up and went towards the door.
-At the hospital -

She blushed when she realized what she was thinking. Minutes later Hetsia went back inside. "Annabeth." She called. Annabeth looks at her. "Can you do me favor?" Hestia asked. "What is it?"
"Is it okay if you stay with Sean for a while? I just needed to go home and also go to the store." Hestia explained. "Oh okay. No problem." Annabeth replied. Hestia smiled warmly. "Charles will be here in a while. He's just at the station. I'll be back as soon as I can." She informed. Annabeth smiled back. "No worries. I have nothing to do today anyway. Don't worry about it." "Thank you dear." Hestia said. She then started to arrange her things. When she's done she kissed Sean on the forehead and hugged Annabeth. "Thanks again." She smiled and head towards the door.
She turned back her gaze to Sean. She reached out her hand and caresses Sean's face. Sean slightly moved by her gesture. She studied his bruises. She felt angry to those bastards who did this to him. His beautiful body was almost filled with bruises not to mention the stab on his torso. A tear rolled down her cheeks. She tried to control her emotions reminding herself that he's okay. Trying to shake the feeling she then grabs the remote and turn on the TV. After a while she started to doze off. She buried her head near Sean's hand and fell asleep.
After a while Sean is awake. He notices Annabeth sleeping. Her face was tilted on his side. He smiled at the sight. Annabeth blushed. "Why didn't you wake me up?" "I didn't have the heart to wake you up. You are sleeping peacefully." He smiled weakly. Annabeth smiled back. "How are you feeling?" "Feeling better I guess." He replied. Annabeth raised her eyebrow. "What?" He asked. Annabeth just shrugged her shoulders. "Well I guess I'm happy to hear that you're feeling better." Sean just smirked at her.
Silence filled the room after. Sean broke the silence. "I'm sorry." Annabeth turned back her gaze to Sean. "Why are you apologizing?" He let out a deep sigh. "For everything, for pulling away and for this. For making you guys worry about me." Annabeth gazed soften. "Hey don't worry about it." Sean reached for Annabeth's hand and holds it. Annabeth blushed but didn't pull back.
She also put her other hand on top of Sean's hand. "What matters now is you are okay. So concentrate on getting better. What happened was not your fault so don't go apologizing about it." He smiled bitterly. "I've got myself into another mess." "What do you mean?" she asked. Sean just shook his head.
"Where did mom go?" He asked changing the subject. "She went home for a while. So you are stuck with me." She said. "I wouldn't complain about that." He smiled sweetly and squeezed her hands. Annabeth blushed again. She mentally slaps herself for blushing for the nth time. "Thank you." He said. Annabeth just nodded. Their eyes met. Green eyes to grey. The world seemed to stop spinning. They are so lost in each other's eyes. No one wanted to talk. They just stared at each other with so many emotions showing in each other's eyes then suddenly the door opens which takes them back to reality.
