Chapter 33

Somewhere in L.A -

Nico's POV

I just came out of from the conference room after a long and stressful meeting with the big bosses including my dear father. I was having a bad day since almost half of it was about Percy. I sighed in frustration. I was so exhausted. I walked towards my office only to be met with a slightly frantic secretary.

"Sir." Allie called, my secretary. "What is it?" I asked weakly. "There's someone who wanted to talk to you. I told him that you were busy but he insisted of waiting for you." She said nervously. Allie knows I can be sometimes snappy after long hours of meeting.

"Who is it?" I asked as I scrunched my eyebrows. Before she can answer, a man who I'm too familiar with comes out in my office. "Nico." He called. I caught my breath. I wasn't expecting him to come to my office and to talk personally. I haven't seen him in a long time. I haven't talk to him after the heated argument that we have been through.

"Uncle Poseidon, what are you doing here?" I asked. I don't want to sound rude but after what we've been through, I am still a little angry at him. "Can we talk?" He asked politely. I let out a deep sigh. I gestured him towards my office. I smiled at Allie. "Don't worry about it." I said. It's not a secret to Allie that me and my uncle are not in a good terms.

I followed him inside. I sat in my desk facing him. I gestured him to sit down. "What can I do for you?" I asked directly. He shifted uncomfortably. He cleared his throat before talking. "I wanted to talk to you about Percy." He started. "What about him?" I asked dryly.

"Do you know where he is?" He asked. I was a little surprised. The last time we talked about him was when Kelsi was still in the hospital. We argued on why he wasn't helping to find Percy. "No." I replied curtly. He stayed quiet for a few seconds. He rubs his face feeling frustrated. "I know I've made a mistake. I wanted you to know I hired a private investigator to find Percy but up to this day we haven't had a clue on where he is. I was hoping you could help us."

I chuckled. I just can't believe hearing this from him after all that happened. "So you decided to finally look for your son." I said sarcastically. He let out a deep sigh. "I know I've been a fool. I'm sorry for snapping at you back then." He apologized. "It doesn't matter." I replied abruptly.

"Look, I know you probably hate me but can we put this aside and help find Percy." He asked pleadingly. "Fine." I gave in. "I'm sorry but I already stop looking for him." I said sadly. "We've been searching for him for months but we don't have a clue on where he is."

"The last clue that we got was he went to the bank and withdraw his money here in L.A. After that we have nothing." I told him. He kept quiet. "I guess we both have nothing then. I am sorry for wasting your time." He said and stands up. "Uncle." I called before he can get through the door. "We'll find him. I'll tell you when I got news about him." I said and smiled at him.

He smiled back. "Thank You." And then he walks out from the door. I slammed myself on the chair feeling frustrated. I can't stay mad at him he is still my family. I stared at the door thinking. I run out of ideas where this idiot cousin of mine probably went to. I have one thing on my mind though; I'm going to kill him when I find him.

Back in Patras –

Charles, Sean and Hestia are currently eating their dinner after the two have arrived from their 3 days getaway. "So how was your vacation?" Hestia asked her two sons. "It was fun and interesting." Charles mused. "So you want to share it with me?" She asked.

"I still can't believe Leo found the courage to ask Reyna to go out with him." Sean chuckled. "You have seen the look on his face. It was priceless." Charles added and both of them started to laugh. Hestia can't help but smile at her sons. "I didn't know Leo likes Reyna." She said amusedly.

"Oh yeah he does, like a lot." Sean confessed. "Hopefully it would turn out good so that finally Leo will settle for one girl." Charles stated. "Yeah, let's hope so." His brother commented. "Hey you know what Mom, my little brother did something that you will be proud of." Charles said.

Hestia looked at Sean. "What is it?" She asked. Sean glared at Charles. "It was nothing Mom, don't believe him." He replied. "Oh come on. You should tell Mom." Charles suggested. Sean shook his head. "If you won't I'll tell her anyway." He smirked.

Sean just rolled his eyes. "Fine go ahead. It's not like I can stop you from telling her anyway." He spat at his brother. "Definitely." He said and grinned at him. Charles told Hestia on how bravely his brother saved a drowning girl.

"Oh my gods, that was so heroic of you. I'm so proud of you son." She said and reached for Sean's hand and squeezed it. Sean blushes from his mom's praises. "Thank you. So now let's drop it." He complained. Hestia and Charles just laugh at Sean's reaction.

Suddenly Charles phone rings. He reached for his pocket to see who's calling him. It was an unknown number. He excused himself. "Hello?" He answered. "Is this Charles Beckendorf?" A woman from the other line asked. "Yeah, may I ask who's calling please?" He replied.

"Oh hi Charles, I don't know if you still remember but I'm Allison, Lily's mother, the one your brother saved from drowning." She explained. "Oh yeah I remember."

"What can I do for you?" Charles asked. "You see we wanted to thank your brother personally. Lily wanted to meet him. We owe him a big favor. Is he with you?" She asked. "Yeah he's with me right now. You wanted to talk to him?"

"Yes please, if that's not too much to ask." She replied shyly. "Oh don't worry about it. I'll go get him."

Charles walks back to the dining area. "Hey Sean, someone wants to talk to you." He said to Sean. Sean gave him a questioning look. He briefly tells him that it was Lily's mother. Sean reaches for the phone. "Hello?"

"No, it's okay. You don't have to. There's no need." Sean said through the phone. He pursed his lips as he listened to Allison. "Okay if you insist. I'll see you then." He paused. "Bye." He let out a deep sigh and hands back the phone to his brother.

"Who was that?" Hestia asked. "Allison, Lily's mother, the one Sean saved." Charles explained. "I gave her my number." "What does she want?" She asked. "They wanted to have dinner with me. She said they wanted to thank me personally for saving her. I said there's no need but she was persistent." Sean said.

Hestia smiled. "Let them, if I were in her place I'll do the same." She said. "But it was not necessary." He complained. "Come on bro, it's just one dinner. You'll make them happy." Charles said. "Fine." Sean said dryly. "You guys should come with me." He suggested. "When?" Charles asked.

"This Friday 7 o'clock, we'll meet them at Labyrinthos (a famous restaurant in Patras) ." He informed. "Oh I'd love to but I can't. I'll be having a late meeting with a client." Charles said. "Oh, how about you Mom?" He asked Hestia. "I'm sorry darling but Beth (Hestia's friend) is having a party at her house and she asked me for help." Sean pouted. Hestia laughs at her son's antics.

"Why don't you ask Annabeth to accompany you?" She suggested. Sean's eyes lit up. "Oh yeah. I'll ask her." He replied.

Line Break -

It was the day Sean will meet Allison and Lily, he texted Annabeth that he'll pick her up around 6:30 pm. After a few minutes he received a text from her.

(A/N Sean – Italic, Annabeth – Bold)

I'll be a little late, just go directly to the restaurant and I'll meet you there.

Are you sure? What happened?

There's something I've got to take care of but I promise I'll meet you there.

Okay if you say so. Text me, okay?

I will. I'll see you there. I love you.

See you. Take care, I love you too.

Sean arrived at the restaurant a little early. He went inside to check on their reserved seats. The waiter showed him their table. Minutes later Allison and three other girls arrived at the restaurant. They ushered them to where Sean is.

Sean was busy looking at his phone waiting for Annabeth to text him when someone called his name. "Sean?" He looked at her. "Allison?" He asked back. Allison nodded. He noticed Lily and 2 other girls who look the same age as her. He guessed they were her friends.

"Oh my god, you are right! He is totally hot." The girl with a brunette hair whispered to Lily but Sean heard it. He can't help but smile. Allison cleared her throat making the girls blush.

"Nice to meet you, Allison." He offered his hands and she shook it. "Lily?" He asked. She nodded shyly. "These are my daughter's friends, Ashley and Jean. I hope you don't mind if we brought them with us." He smiled sweetly at them. "Oh don't worry about it. Nice to meet you girls, I'm Sean." He introduced himself and shook their hands. The girls were blushing furiously. "Take a sit." He gestured.

They called the waiter and gave their orders. "So Sean, we wanted to thank you for saving Lily." Allison started. He smiled at them. "Glad to help. Just be careful next time." He told Lily. "I will." She said back. "Thank you so much, if it weren't for you I probably dead by now."

Sean keeps checking his phone. It was already 30 minutes past 7 and there's still no text from Annabeth. It was not like her. So he excused himself and went to the rest room. He tried calling her but she won't pick up. He went back to their table feeling worried.

"Everything okay?" Allison asked when he noticed Sean. "Yeah." He lied. So they talk for a while about random stuff. He learned that the three girls were best of friends. They were all 14 years old. Lily and Jean were friends since grade school. Ashley just recently moved and met them and they instantly became good friends.

"Waiting for someone?" Allison blurted when he noticed Sean who keeps checking his phone. He blushes from the embarrassment. "Sorry, my girlfriend is supposed to join us.." He said but cut off when Ashley butted in. "You have a girlfriend?" She said a little too loud and with a bit of disappointment. Jean and Lily nudged her. "Sorry." She apologized while blushing.

He chuckled. "Yes I do. She's supposed to meet us here but I guess something came up." He explained sadly. "Oh if I were her I should have not kept you waiting." Lily blurted out. She earned a glare from her mother. "Sorry about them." Allison said. He just smiled.

A little later they said their goodbyes to Sean. But before they go, the girls insisted they take a photo with Sean. He hesitated but the girls were persistent so he gave in. They parted ways. He checked his phone and he got 1 message and it was from Annabeth.

I'm so sorry Seaweed Brain I can't make it. Something went wrong on the site and they needed us there. I just arrived at the office. I'll see you soon okay. I'm really sorry. I'll make it up to you.

He closed his phone disappointed. He checked his watch and it was already past 9. He decided to go and check on Annabeth. He arrived at their office minutes later. He parked his car. He reached for his phone to call Annabeth and tell her that he is at their parking lot. He was about to dial her number when she noticed three figures walking out the building.

He immediately knew them. It was Reyna, Annabeth and James. They stop at the lobby. Reyna said something to them and she waved goodbye to the two. His car was park away so she can't see him but he can see them. Annabeth and James were talking. He saw when she playfully shoved him in his chest. They were laughing at something that James said.

Sean instantly felt his face went hot from jealousy. He controlled himself. He stayed at his car painfully watching as his girlfriend flirts with his co workers. Are you sure she's flirting with him? His conscience asks him. He shook his head trying to think straight.

He saw when James reach out for her hands and holds it. He just stared at them wide in shock since his girlfriend didn't push his hands away. She let him touch her hands. He was so angry when James hugs her and she hugs him back. That was it. He got out from his car and marched towards them.

He was so mad that he wasn't thinking anymore. Not again. When he was a near them he called for Annabeth. She was caught by surprise when she saw a very angry Sean. "Sean, it's not.." But before she can finish, Sean hits James on the face. "What the hell is wrong with you man?!" James snarled.

"Stay away from her!" He snarled at him. Annabeth is holding back Sean, preventing him to hurt James. "Sean what are you doing. Stop it!" She yelled. He grabs her hands and drags her to his car. "Sean you're hurting me." She pleaded. Sean was very angry that he didn't listen to her.

"Annabeth." James called who followed them. "I'm okay. I'm sorry." She said before he got inside Sean's car. "Stay away from her or I swear to God.." Sean said threatening James. Sean got inside the car and drove off.

They were both quiet on the way to Thalia's house. "What just happened?!" Annabeth asked him. She was angry at him for hitting James for no reason at all. "You tell me?!" He snarled. "I waited for you for hours at the restaurant and you didn't show up and then I saw you flirting with him."

"What the hell! I'm not flirting with him and for the record I texted you why I didn't make it." She replied sharply. They were now outside of the house. "Oh yeah because you're busy flirting with him!" He said accusingly. "Don't you dare accused me!" She started yelling at him.

Due to his anger, he didn't even think of what he's accusing her. "Tell me do you like him? Is he better than me?" "I can't believe it?!" She said exasperated. "What?! Just tell me. Are you cheating on me?" He shouted at her.

Annabeth was shocked. She slaps Sean so hard that it hurts her hands. Tears started to flow from her eyes. "Don't you dare accused me of cheating!" The slap on his face wakes him up. "Oh gods, I'm so sorry. I didn't meant to.." He tried to apologize and reach for her face.

She pushed him hard. "Don't touch me! I hate you!" She yelled and immediately got out from the car. He tried calling her but she runs towards the door and slammed it. Sean buried his face in his hands. Shit! I am totally screwed. He started to cry when he realized what he did. Annabeth hates him. He was such an idiot. He tried calling her but her phone was off.

He drove away not knowing what to do. He knows she doesn't want to talk to him right now. It won't be good for both of them. He drove to the beach where he used to go whenever he wanted to think. It was already near midnight. He climbed on the rocks and just stared at the waves. He stayed there for a while. Tears were streaming down his face. He can't lose her. He loves her so much that he'll do anything just to forgive him.
