Chapter 34
Sean arrived at their house early in the morning the next day. He was met by the confused look of his family and friend. "Where have you been?" Hestia asked. "What happened to you?" Leo asked. "You look like shit!"
"Leo!" Hestia scolded. "Sorry." Leo mumbled. "Did you sleep at Annabeth's house last night?" Charles asked smirking. Sean shook his head. "Then where have you been all night?" Hestia asked.
"Nowhere, excuse me." Sean said and went to his room. Charles and Leo looked at each other. "I thought he went to meet Lily's family last night, with Annabeth right?" Leo asked. "Yes he did." Hestia answered. "Then what's with the sad face? "
"Something might have happened." Charles answered. "We'll leave him for a while. He'll eventually tell when his ready."
"Yeah you're right. So what do we have for breakfast?" Leo asked giddily. Hestia chuckled. "So that's why you are here early, for breakfast?" Leo smiled widely. "Yes and there's something else." Charles raised an eyebrow at him. "And that would be?"
"I'll tell later when Sean is with us. So how about the breakfast? I am starving." Leo demanded. Charles hit him at the back of his head. "Ouch, that hurts you know!" He complained. "This is not your house so learn to have some manners." Charles scolded.
About an hour later, Charles and Leo were hanging out in the living room watching some sports channel when Sean came out of his room. Leo nudged Charles gesturing to Sean who went to the kitchen. They turned off the TV and followed Sean.
Sean grabs a bottle of beer and went outside through the back door. He sat on one of the chair and gazed towards the beach. Charles and Leo followed him. He was still unaware of the two until Charles finally spoke.
"Isn't it too early to drink?" Charles asked. Sean was startled. He turned around and saw Leo and Charles. He ignored them and went back to drinking his beer. "What's up with you, man?" Leo asked. He didn't answer. "What happened last night?" Charles asked.
"Fine, I guess, until I've done something stupid again." Sean said while burying his face in his hands. "What do you mean?" Leo asked. Sean run his hands in his already messy hair and slowly tells what had happen last night.
"I tried talking to her this morning. I went to their house only to be met by an angry Thalia. I'm even lucky she didn't hit me this time." Sean concluded. "I'm such a jerk." He said frustrated.
Leo sat beside him. "What's wrong with you two? Last time she accused you of cheating and now you did it to her. What a messed up relationship." He exclaimed. Charles hit him again. "Dude you're not helping. Will you shut it?"
"Hey I'm just being honest you know. " Leo grumbled. "Leo's right. I didn't know what came up to me. I shouldn't have accused her because I know how it feels like. I shouldn't have hit James." Sean said a little more frustrated this time.
"Sean, you just can't keep letting your past mess with your present. What Caly-, I mean what she did to you is horrendous but it's all in the past now. You've got to move on and stop thinking that Annabeth will do that to you." Charles stated. "Wait, what?" Leo asked confusedly. "What are you talking about?"
"A girl cheated on you before? I didn't know that? How come you never told me? What's her name?" Leo demanded. "Jeez Leo." Charles scolded. "It doesn't matter. It's all in the past now. You don't need to know any of it." Sean stated.
"That's my point exactly. Leave it Sean. Annabeth is not her." Charles pointed out. Sean let out a deep sigh. "I guess you're right. I was so stupid." He mumbled. Charles patted his back. "Just give her time to cool down and talk to her."
"I don't know what to do anymore. I tried texting and calling her but she won't answer any of it. I even went to their house early this morning but still she won't talk to me."
"You know I heard that James is leaving, maybe that's why you saw them hugging." Leo butted in. Charles raised an eyebrow at him. "You know that because?" He asked. Leo rubs the back of his head. "Reyna told me." He said timidly.
"Hmm that's interesting. So Reyna told you huh?" Sean asked. Leo just nodded. "Look Sean, don't beat yourself too much. She'll forgive you. You did it to her. You guys are perfect for each other."
Sean smiled for the first time. "What?" Leo asked. "You sound so cheesy. Is that because of Reyna?" Leo looks terrified. "I am not!" He defended. "Oh yes you do. Only those who are in love can be so cheesy." Charles teased. "So you and Reyna, huh, so are you guys dating now?"
"I am not in love!" He defended. Sean chuckled. "Don't deny it." Leo huffed. "Oh come on man? You are not going here early this morning if you don't have something to share. And by the looks of it, it has something to do with Reyna." Sean stated.
"Why are you so observant? And here I thought you are so depressed but you still have time to study me." Leo grumbled. "I am sad but not depressed, you know." Sean corrected.
"I just wish I know what to do." Sean mumbled. "You can send her flowers and tell her how sorry you are. Or buy her a gift." Leo suggested. "I don't think that will do." Sean said. "Or you can serenade her. Sing for her or something.." Leo trailed off.
"Hey that's not a bad idea." Charles chimed in. "What?" Leo asked. "Sing for her? Are you serious?"
"What's wrong with it?" Charles asked. "One, can he sing? Two, he's just going to embarrass himself." Leo stated. "You suggested it." Charles answered back. "Yeah and I was joking!"
"Will you guys stop it?!" Sean grumbled. "You guys are not helping." "Listen Sean, I think that's a great idea." Charles insisted. Leo just rolled his eyes. Sean looks at Charles. They have a silent conversation between them.
Sean shook his head. "I don't know Charles. I don't think that's a good idea. It's not safe. It will be too much of a gamble."
"I know but think about it. She'll be surprised." Charles stated. "Oh yes, she will definitely be." Leo commented. Charles glared at him. "Just tell her how she means so much to you through a song that will be so romantic."
"Oh good gods Charles, Silena is rubbing off on you. Since when do you know what is romantic?" Leo teased. "Just think about it Sean." Charles said ignoring Leo's comment. "Just this once, for her."
Sean let out a deep sigh and thinks for a while. "Fine, for her." Charles smiled widely. "Good." He patted Sean's back. "Now all we have to do is plan. Where and when are you going to do it?"
"I can't believe you two are serious about it?" Leo stated. "Shut it Valdez. Just help out, will you?" Charles scolded. Leo smirked. "Well I wouldn't miss this anyway. I can't wait to see their faces especially Annabeth's." "And why is that?" Charles asked curiously.
"It's because can Sean even sing? I can't wait to see their reactions." Leo smiled evilly. "Wow you are such a good friend." Sean said sarcastically. "Way to boost my ego."
"Oh come on dude. Even if you can't sing, what matters is the thought behind it. She'll sure understand." Leo said. "How can you be so sure that I can't sing?" Sean asked amusedly. "I don't know, but can you?" Leo asked back.
Charles chuckled. "You don't know what you are talking about." Leo scrunched up his eyebrows. "Is that a yes or a no?" He asked confusedly. "Drop it and help me with the plans." Sean demanded.
They eventually formed a plan and they decided to do it tonight. All they need now is to make sure that Annabeth will be there with the help of the girls.
Charles texted Silena while Leo texted Reyna. They told them about the plan and they willingly obliged. The girls made sure that she will be there and they just have to focus on Sean's plan.
At Thalia's House –
Annabeth is sulking on her room when Thalia barged in. "Wake up sunshine!" Annabeth cover herself with the blanket. "Get out of my room Thalia!" Instead of going out, Thalia plumped down on her bed. "Come on, get up! It's already lunch time."
"I am not hungry Thals. Just leave me alone." Annabeth stated. Thalia grabs her blanket and snatches it from her. "Hey!" She protested. "Get up and we will talk about it." Thalia demanded. "Talk about what? How inconsiderate my boyfriend is? And how he punched James?"
Thalia smirked. "What?!" Annabeth demanded. "At least you're still considering him as your boyfriend." Annabeth crossed her arms and glared at Thalia. Thalia just chuckled. "You should have seen him this morning. He looks like shit. I don't think he slept last night."
"He deserves it." Annabeth stated. "Oh come on Annie, give the guy a break."
"Don't call me Annie!" She grumbled. "And what do you mean about that?"
"Look, we all know that Sean is jealous of James even if he doesn't admit that. And I can't blame him. James likes you. And when he sees you hugging him and even holding your hands that will definitely set him off and you stood him up. I can't blame him for what he did."
"So you're saying that what he did was right? For hitting James and for calling me a cheater?!" She asked a little angry. "Whoa chill. That's not what I meant. He made a mistake. Guys can be impulsive at times like this. He maybe an idiot for hitting James but he did that because he loves you. You should all people know that, you are the smart one."
"Jeez thanks for insulting me." She grumbled. Thalia shook her head. "He loves you Annie. Just talk to him, will you? I am tired of your fighting you know."
Annabeth didn't answer. "He was wrong when he accused you of cheating but you also did that to him. And that's make you even." Thalia stated. "Wow what an advice." Annabeth said sarcastically.
"I am not good with words you know that. You're even lucky I'm putting on with this drama of yours. Just forgive him and make up. Jeez Annabeth, you love him so just move on with it." Thalia exclaimed.
Annabeth just huffed. "And by the way the girls are coming so you better get your ass off your bed." Thalia said as she stood and went towards the door. "What are they going to do here? Did you call them?"
"No I didn't. Silena called me. And she suggested we should hang out. All girls no boys, so don't worry about it." Thalia informed her. "But…" She trailed off. "Nah ah, you can't argue. I already said yes so deal with it."
"You are so annoying you know that!" Annanbeth grumbled. "I am your bestfriend, so believe me when I say that we are doing this for you. So get your lazy butt off the bed and let's go eat." Thalia said before walking out the door.
Thalia peeks back inside seconds later. "Get up or you will be sorry." She threatened. Annabeth stuck her tongue out to her. "Very mature Chase. Now get up!"
