Chapter 37
The group decided to hang out at Hestia's house for the day. The others were on the beach while Sean and Leo were sleeping on their girlfriends lap on the veranda. Both girls are reading a book. Leo and Sean stayed up late last night doing some work on the store. Sean shifted from his sleep. He lazily opens his eyes. Annabeth glanced at him.
"Hey." Annabeth smiled at her boyfriend while she runs her hands on his messy hair. "Hi." Sean replied groggily. "Where are the others?" He asked. "They're still on the beach." Annabeth replied. "You want to join them?" He asked as he tried to get up.
Annabeth stops him. "No, it's okay. Besides I'm reading so is Reyna." She gestured to where Reyna and Leo are. Sean shifted his head and turned to look at them. They're on the other side of the veranda on one of the benches. "Are you sure?" Sean asked. "Yeah besides I'm about to finish the book."
Sean smiled at her and he closed his eyes again drifting back to sleep. Annabeth can't help but smile as she stared at his sleeping boyfriend. He has such a beautiful face and she can't help but wonder how he ended up with her. She can't help but to feel lucky to be his girlfriend.
She caresses his face and looks at him with pure love. Her gazed turn towards the horizon, right now she is satisfied with what she has. She has a great job, good friends, loving family and most of all a wonderful boyfriend. She can't help but smile as she turns her gaze back to him. She takes one look at him and went back to reading.
The peacefulness of the atmosphere was ruined when Travis and Connor came running to them. Both brothers were dripping wet from swimming. "Hey!" They greeted in unison. Reyna and Annabeth turned to look and smiled at them.
They went to the cooler and got themselves a coke. Connor went to Reyna and Leo's side. He takes a sip from his coke and stops in front of them. Reyna stops reading when she felt someone looking at them. She raised her eyebrow at Connor. "Yes?" Connor being an idiot, smirk at her and shake his body like when a dog does when it was wet.
"Connor!" Reyna snarled. Leo, who was fast asleep on his girlfriend's lap, shot up rapidly making him fall from the bench. Leo groaned as he hit the cold cement. Connor laughs his ass out. Reyna punches him in the arm and she went to help his boyfriend.
"What the hell Connor!" Leo snapped. "Jeez you guys are wasting your time here." Connor mocked. "We came here to have some fun not to sit around and read a boring book. Reyna glared at him. "Mind your own business! Not like you we don't count flirting as a means of fun."
Connor pouted. He touch his heart, "Ouch you hurt me right there." He said and smiled wickedly. Reyna huffed and crossed her arms as she glared at him. Leo lazily put his arms around his girlfriend and kissed her hair. Connor faked gagged.
Leo ignored him. He leaned back on the bench and closed his eyes without taking his arms off her. Reyna snuggled closer to him, adjusting her body so that her back is on Leo's chest and went back to reading her book ignoring Connor completely. Connor just chuckled and went to sit on one of the chairs.
Annabeth shook her head watching them. Sean didn't even move from his position. He's totally oblivious to what was happening around him. She noticed Travis looking at them. She raised her eyebrow at him giving him a silent message. Travis just chuckled and raised his hands on surrender.
Minutes later she felt Travis looking at them several times. She closed her book and turned to look at him. "What?" She demanded. "Huh, what do you mean?" Travis replied innocently. "Don't play dumb. Is there something you want to say?" Travis shook his head. Annabeth raised an eyebrow at him.
"Fine. I wanted to talk to Sean." He said. "Well as you can see, he's obviously sleeping so you'll need to wait." Annabeth stated. Travis rubs the back of his head. "Can I just wake him up? It's kinda important." He reasoned out. Annabeth shook her head. "He's tired and he needs to sleep. I'm sure it can wait."
Travis pursed his lips and leaned back on the chair. He saw Connor smirking at him. He glared at his brother. "What's wrong brother? Feeling nervous now, are we?" Connor teased. "Shut up!" He snarled at him. Annabeth eyed them curiously. Connor just grinned at her making her roll her eyes on him.
Hestia peeked outside. "Reyna, Annabeth, would you mind giving me a hand?" She asked. Both girls nodded and leave their boyfriends behind still sleeping. Annabeth turned to look back at Travis and narrowed her eyes on him threatening him not to wake Sean.
After the two girls went inside Travis ignored Annabeth's threat and rush towards Sean. "Hey Sean." He whispered lightly shaking him. Sean just stirred from sleep but not waking up. He shook him a little harder this time. Sean opens his eyes lazily. "What?" He asked weakly.
"Are you ready for tonight?" Travis asked. "What?" Sean asked confusedly and slowly sits up. "You know the plan. It's tonight. Did you forget it? Oh gods, please tell me you don't." Travis asked nervously. Sean rubs his eyes.
"What are you talking about? And is that so important that you have to wake me up?" Sean asked a little bit annoyed. "Yes!" Travis exclaimed. "My happiness depends on it! Please tell me you're joking right?"
Connor walks up to them. "Stop being so dramatic." He teased. Travis glared at him. He turned towards Sean again. Sean leaned back and closed his eyes as if trying to remember what Travis is talking about. Then suddenly his eyes pop open. "Oh my gods? Is that tonight already? I totally forgot."
Travis eyes were wide open. "Ask Leo if he did his job? I can't remember him mentioning it last night. We've been busy and it didn't cross our minds." Sean said it with a conviction. Travis rushed to Leo's side without noticing that Sean and Connor are trying to hold themselves from laughing.
"Leo! Leo! Wake up!" Leo was startled and launches his hands on instinct smacking Travis' face. "Ouch!" Travis muttered. Leo rubs his eyes. "What the hell man! You and you're idiot brother!" He muttered. "Calm down okay. Is it true that you forgot the task I gave you?" Travis asked accusingly.
Leo looked at Connor and Sean. Sean winked at him. He got the message and mentally smirked. "Oh shit! I'm sorry is that tonight already?" He played. Travis buried his face in his hands and started pacing back and forth. The three burst into laughing. Travis stops and narrowed his eyes on them.
It took him seconds before realizing that they were making fun of him. "You should..*laugh*.. have…*laugh* …seen your…*laugh* face…" Connor said in between laughs. "Sean!" Travis exclaimed. He glared at Sean and head towards him. Sean who is currently laughing his ass off noticed that he's coming after him. He immediately stand ready to run when Travis launched himself tackling him to the ground.
Sean groaned. "Get off me!" He yelled. Annabeth who heard the commotion went outside only to see his boyfriend lying on his stomach and on his back was Travis pinning him to the ground. "Travis!" She yelled. Travis looked at her. "What the hell are you doing? I told you not to wake him up and now I see you trying to kill him?" Annabeth scolded.
Travis immediately gets off from Sean's back. Sean shoved him when he stands up and makes his way to his girlfriend. "Are you okay?" Annabeth asked concerned. He nodded. He turned to look at Travis and stuck his tongue out at him. Travis rolled his eyes. "What's your problem?" She asked him.
"Hey we're fine we're just having fun." Sean said smiling as he hugs Annabeth. "Whatever!" Travis huffed as he turned around back to the beach. "Hey call the others the food is ready." Annabeth called. "And don't worry man everything is ready." Sean shouted. Travis stops on his track, turned around and gave him the finger. Sean chuckled.
"What are you guys talking about?" Annabeth asked. Sean looks down at her. "Hmm just stuff." He replied dryly. Annabeth raised her eyebrow at him not satisfied with his answer. Sean chuckled. "You'll find out soon but for the meantime let's go inside because I'm starving." He said grinning. She rolled her eyes on him.
LINEBREAK
"Hello Greece." Nico mumbled to himself as he arrived at the airport. He scans the airport trying to figure out where he will go. When he finally sees the exit sign, he grabs his bag and head towards the exit. He is near the exit when suddenly someone bumps into him spilling coffee all over his shirt.
"Ouch!" He muttered. "Oh my gods! I'm so sorry." The person who bumps into him apologized. "Are you okay? I'm so sorry I didn't see you."
"It's fine." Nico said and turn to look at the person. He was mesmerized for a second. She smiled apologetically to him. "I…I'm really sorry." She stammered. Nico shook his head trying to clear his thoughts.
"No it's okay. No need to worry." He said smiling to her. "Are you sure?" She asked. Nico nodded. "I'll just go and change my shirt." He was a few feet away when he silently cursed. He was having a mental debate. He stops in his track and look over his shoulder. When he noticed that she's not far away, he turns back and runs towards her.
"Hey!" Nico called. She snapped her head towards him. "Oh hey!" She smiled. "Um I was wondering.. if umm.." He stammered. She scrunched her eyebrows at him but still smiling. "Yes?" She asked amusedly. Nico rubs the back of his head. He cleared his throat. "I was wondering if you like to go get a coffee since yours accidentally spilled on me."
Her cheeks went red. "No sorry I don't mean anything. It's okay if you don't like." He said nervously. She thinks for a moment and gaze at her watch. "I'm about to pick up someone but their flight has been delayed. So I guess I can have coffee with you."
Nico smiled widely. "Great. Umm I'm just going to change and I'll meet you back here." She nodded. Nico can't help but smile as he made his way to the restroom. For a second he forgot why he was in Greece in the first place.
LINEBREAK
They were on the same bar where Sean first sung in front of his friends. Travis, Leo, Reyna and Annabeth were the first one to arrive. Leo and Travis picked up Annabeth and Reyna from work. Chris, Clarisse and Thalia are on their way. Connor was picking up Katie.
"Where's Sean? Why isn't he here yet?" Travis asked nervously. "They're on their way. They'll pick up Silena first and they'll go straight here." Annabeth answered. "What's with you anyway? You seemed so tense since this morning. And since when do you become obsess with my boyfriend?" She asked a little serious but you can sense the amusement in her voice.
"Dude, calm your nerves. Everything is going to be alright." Leo said interrupting Annabeth's interrogation on Travis. "Just relax okay, breath in breath out." He teases. Travis glared at him. "I'll just go to the bathroom." He said and leaves.
"What's up with him?" Reyna asked as she leaned her head on Leo's shoulder. Leo just shrugged. Reyna punches him in the arm. "Don't shrug it off. I know something is up." Reyna accused him pulling away from him. Leo pouted. "You guys are so nosy."
Reyna glared at him. He chuckled. "Me too, I can sense it. When I ask Sean about it he just shrug it off. I have a feeling though that it has something to do with Travis. Is he finally going to ask Katie?" Annabeth stated as he narrowed her eyes on Leo.
Leo gulped. How in the world did she figure it out? Oh right she's a freaking genius. He was about to answer her when thankfully Sean, Charles and Silena arrived. "Hey Wise Girl." Sean greeted and kissed Annabeth. She smiled at him. "Hey Seaweed Brain." Sean was about to hug her when Travis came running in and pulling Sean away from her.
"Hey!" Sean complained. "Where the hell have you been man?! You're supposed to be early." Travis said accusingly to him. Sean just laughs. "Calm down okay. It's too early yet. And will you please just breath you look ready to pass out." Sean teased. "Looks who's talking." Leo butted in making his way towards them. Sean just chuckled.
"You two are not helping." Travis muttered. Leo patted him on the back. "Listen you need to focus or else you'll just go ruin everything. Remember tonight is for you and Katie." Sean nodded. "Don't worry about me. I know what I am doing so just focus on making this perfect for her. You still remember what you are supposed to do right?" Travis nodded.
"Okay come on. The girls are looking suspicious. Let's just try to play it cool until she arrives." Sean said motioning them to go back to where the others are. Sean sits beside Annabeth wrapping his arms around her. Annabeth leaned towards him. "What was that all about?" She whispered to him. He just chuckled and kissed her forehead. "Just wait and see." Annabeth smack his chest. She hated not knowing everything.
A little later Connor and Katie arrived followed by Chris and Clarisse and finally Thalia. "Hey Thals. Where have you been?" Silena asked. "Just took care of some stuff." She replied smiling. Silena raised her eyebrow at her. "Something's different about you."
Thalia scrunched her eyebrows. "And that is?" Silena eyed her curiously. "I don't know yet. Wait. You seem happy. That's it." It was Annabeth's turn to study her. "You are right Silena. Is there something you want to share? And where exactly did you go this morning?" Thalia rolled her eyes on her friends. "Will you please stop? I believe I came here tonight to have some fun not to be interrogated. So would you two shut up?"
Annabeth and Silena chuckled. "So everybody is here can we order now?" Clarisse asked. The others nodded. Sean stands up and whispers something to Travis. Travis turned pale suddenly. Sean turned to look at Connor and Leo who just nodded at him.
Sean went back to Annabeth's side. "Be right back baby." He pecked her on the lips. "Where you going?" She called but Sean was a few feet away to hear her. She turned to look at Leo who was beside him. He just grinned at her making her roll her eyes.
Minutes later the lights on the stage were turned on revealing Sean and the rest of the band. Annabeth gasp when she saw her boyfriend on the stage."Good evening everyone. Some might recognize me already. I'm Sean and tonight I'm doing a favor for a friend." He said smiling. "Hey baby I took your advice so here I am."Annabeth smiled widely. She waved at him. He gave her a flying kiss. Annabeth just chuckled.
"Anyways enough of that, tonight I'll be singing a song requested from a good friend of mine, Travis." Sean said nodding to where Travis is. "And he wants to dedicate this song to a very special girl. Good Luck man." He looked over his shoulder signaling the band to start.
The girls eyed Travis curiously when they heard what Sean has to say. Travis wanted to bolt out right at the very moment. Leo patted him on the back. "Hey!" Connor called. "Focus!" Travis turned to look at Katie who by then is staring at him. She looked at him accusingly. She looked kind of sad. Maybe she thought it's for another girl. When she noticed him looking at her, she turned to look away. He was startled when Leo shook him signaling him that it's game time.

Travis is looking at Katie. He's fully aware that their friend's eyes were glued at him, waiting for him to do something. Katie is currently busy staring at her phone unaware of everyone's attention although her mind is wandering around.

By the time Sean started to sing the chorus part Travis stand up making his way to Katie. He can feel his friends smiling. They all seemed so quiet supporting him on what he was about to do. Travis cleared his throat beside Katie. Katie instantly snapped her head to where he is.
He offered his hands to her, blushing slightly. "Um can I have this dance?" He asked nervously. Katie's reaction was priceless. Her mouth is wide open. She has glint in her eyes. "Katie?" Travis called again breaking from her trance. She slowly nodded still not believing on what was happening.
They made their way to the center of the dance floor. The lights dimmed. One spotlight was focused on them. There were different colors of light faintly illuminated around them making the dance floor a little romantic.

By this time Travis and Katie were dancing to the song. His hands were on Katie's waist. Her hands were around at the back of his neck. She snuggled closer to him. He pulled her closer. She rests her head on his chest closing her eyes savoring the moment.

Just as the song finish, Travis pulled away from her. Leo, who magically appeared near them, handed him the flowers. Travis gazed lovingly at Katie. "I wish I knew how to sing so that I can sing the song for you but unfortunately I am not gifted as Sean." He turned to look at Sean who just grinned at him.
He noticed how the place seemed so quiet. He scans his surrounding and realized all eyes are on them. They're waiting for his confession. He closed his eyes composing himself. He looks at her again. He gave her the flowers. He took her free hand in his. "Katie Gardner, you never knew how I felt for you but right now I wanted the world to know that I've been in love with you for years now. I act around you stupidly. I even prank you but just so you know I did all of that just to get your attention."
"I want to be by your side always. I want to be the one who will be there for you when you need a shoulder to lean on. I want to be the first one you call every morning." He paused. "I want you to be my girl. I've been stupid not to admit this to you. Katie Gardner, will you please do the honor of being my girlfriend?"
Katie's eyes were glistening with tears. "What took you so long idiot?" She mumbled but smiled. She slowly nodded her head. "Yes, I love to be your girlfriend." Travis reaction was priceless. When it finally sinks in to him, he hugged Katie tightly. The crowds cheered. Travis kissed her softly.
Sean smiled widely when their plan came through. He wasn't aware that someone is watching at him for a while now. He said his thanks to the band members. He was about to go to his friend when someone called him.
"Percy!"
He stops in his tracks. The voice was so familiar. He can easily tell who owns it. Sean wished he was just hallucinating.
"Percy!" He called again.
Sean slowly turned. His eyes went wide when he saw him. "Nico!" He was surprised. "How.. How did .." He stammered. He slowly walks towards him. He glanced back to his friend wishing that they won't notice him. He caught Charles eyes and by the looks of it he knew something is up.
"Hey cousin." Nico called bitterly. Before Sean can say anything Nico throws a punch at him and it hit him in the jaw. He stumbled backwards. "Wait Nico. Stop let me explain first." Nico was about to throw him another punch when Charles caught him.
"What the hell is your problem man?" Charles snarled at Nico. By this time they caught almost everyone's attention. "Charles, it's Nico, remember him." Sean said nervously while holding his jaw. Charles eyed Nico suspiciously. Annabeth runs towards him. "Are you okay?' She asked worriedly while examining his jaw. "I am fine." He whispered. He can't believe this is happening. He is not yet ready to reveal his true identity.
"Please Nico, not here. We need to talk." Sean said pleadingly. Nico narrowed his eyes on him.
"Who are you?" Annabeth asked angrily. Nico was about to answer when Thalia called him.
"Nico?" Thalia called. All eyes turned to look at them. "You know each other?" Sean asked confusedly. "I met him at the airport this morning. I was the one who invited him here." She explained. "You two knew each other?"
"You have no idea." Nico mocked. "He's… he's my cousin." Sean admitted. "What?" Thalia was surprised. "How..?"
"Please Nico." Sean pleaded. Nico surrendered and nodded his head.
Sean turned to look at Annabeth. "I need to go now. I'll call you later okay. I'll explain everything to you." Annabeth scrunched her eyebrows. "What's going on? If he is your cousin and why did he hit you?"
"It's a long story baby. I'll explain everything to you but right now I needed to talk to him." He didn't wait for her to respond. He pecks her on the lips and grabs Nico's hand pulling him out of the bar. "I'll go with them." Charles stated. "Leo please take Silena and Annabeth home."
Leo just nodded. He was confused just like the others. "What's going on?" Travis asked. "I don't have a clue." Annabeth answered.
They watched as the three walks out from the bar. Annabeth is determined to find out what was going on. By the looks on Sean it was something big. Who is Nico really? Then she remembered that Thalia met him this morning. Since right now she can't do anything, she'll just have to wait for Sean's call to explain everything. She turned to Thalia. "I believe you have some explaining to do?"
