Okay so this chapter will be about Percy's family only, the rest will follow. At first I want to make it longer and add the part where Percy will deal with his problems on his career but I realize it will ruin the essence of this chapter, so I decided to put it on the next chapter. So for now please enjoy this chapter!
Thanks for the review on the last chapter:
TyberAurora: Yeah it is kind of sad but I thought it is needed in the story. I will add Silena and Annabeth's POV on the letters but not right now. I will definitely add those when the right time comes. Thank you again for the review.
littlebear101: Here's the update.
EpicNuby: Thank you.
tniki713: Thank you. I'm thinking about what you said, hmm, let's see if I can pull it off but I can't promise though.
daughter of the seawisdom: Sorry for making you sad for the past few chapters but don't worry I'll try to lighten up the next few chapters the best way I can. And here's your request, I hope you'll enjoy reading it. Thank you again.
Theobliviousoneishere: I'm kind of confused on your review. Do you want me to finish the story? Is that what you're trying to say? Thanks for the review though.
Disclaimer: I do not own Percy Jackson and the Olympians
Chapter 44
New York
"Mom." Kelsi called.
"In here honey." Sally replied. She's currently on their lawn writing a new book.
Kelsi approached her and kissed her on the cheek. She just arrived from her school. After the accident she was no longer sent back to London. Her parents decided to transfer her since there's no need to protect her identity and of course it will be lot safer that she's home.
"How's school?" Sally asked.
"The usual, boring." She commented. Sally narrowed her eyes on her daughter.
Kelsi chuckled. Between the two siblings, Kelsi is more laid back when it comes to her studies. She doesn't pay much attention to school. Passing was enough for her. She was likely the one who cause trouble in her school. Back in London, Sally was called a few times from the school but nothing serious just some minor issues mostly involving pranks.
"Hope you're not causing any trouble again."
Kelsi rolled her eyes and Sally caught her. "Hey." Sally scolded.
She sits in the chair beside her mom.
"No need to worry mom. Your daughter is a good girl. Have you gotten any call from the principal lately?" She challenged.
Sally just snorted. "Just keep out of trouble and study hard will you?"
Kelsi rolled her eyes once again. "Studying sucks." She whispered.
"I heard that." Sally scolded.
Kelsi ignored her mom and focused herself on her ipad.
"Nico called." Sally started. "He said he's coming over."
"Really?" Kelsi replied without turning away from her game. "I haven't seen him in a while."
"He said he's been busy."
Kelsi cursed when he lost the game. "S&%*! Stupid game!"
"Kelsi! Language." Sally scolded.
"Sorry mom."
Minutes later Sally and Kelsi didn't talk for a while, they're both minding their own business. Sally closed her laptop. "I'm going to bake some cookies, would you like to help? I bet Nico miss my cookies."
Kelsi pause her game. "Sure." She replied. "I'm hungry anyways."
They both head towards the kitchen. They've been busy preparing the cookies. They've talk about a couple of things. They've been trying to avoid talking about Percy. It just makes them sad.
Time skip
Nico stepped out of the car. They've just arrived at the mansion. Percy hesitated for a while.
"Hey are you coming?" Nico asked.
Percy nodded and reluctantly he stepped out of the car too. Nico put his arm around Percy's shoulder. "Come on. They love you. There's no need to be afraid." He comforted.
Once they were inside, Percy turns to look inside the house. It was still the same as he remembers. He drops his bags and went to the corner to look at the pictures. He grabs one of the framed pictures. It was taken 2 years ago during his birthday. They were on a private beach. They smiled happily on the picture.
"Kelsi, Sally are you guys home?." Nico called.
"In the kitchen." They heard Sally replied.
Percy turned pale just hearing his mom's voice. Nico approached him. "Ready?"
He just nodded. Nico patted him on the back before he turned his heel towards the kitchen. Percy followed right behind him.
"Hey guys!" Nico greeted Sally and Kelsi. He moved forward to give them hugs.
"How are you? We haven't heard from you in a while." Sally said.
"I've been busy." Nico replied. "How are you kiddo?" He turned his gaze to Kelsi.
"Don't call me that." She spat. "Can't you see I'm not a child anymore?" She complained.
"Nuh ah, you're still the same little girl for me." He teased. Kelsi glared at him.
"Anyways, I have a surprised for you."
Kelsi raised her eyebrow at him. "What is it?"
Nico turned to look back. Percy is nowhere in sight. He shook his head. He turned back his attention to Sally and Kelsi. They're looking at him anxiously. "Are you ready?"
"Stop with the drama. Just tell us what is it?" Kelsi complained. Nico chuckled and ruffled her hair. Kelsi cursed him.
"You can come out now. No need to hide." He called to Percy.
After a few seconds, Percy stepped inside the kitchen. Sally drops the plate that she was holding. She put her hands in her mouth. She must be hallucinating. Her son is a few steps away from her.
"Hey mom." Percy greeted.
Sally rushed to where her son is and she hugs him so tightly afraid that he'll vanish again. "Oh God!" She said crying. She pulled away from him and studied him. "How are you? Are you okay?"
Percy wiped away the tears from her mom's face. "I'm so sorry." He said as his own tears runs through his cheek. Sally hugs him again. "Shhh, it doesn't matter. You're here now that's what important."
Kelsi just watched dumbfounded at what was happening in front of her. Her brother is finally home. She just can't believe it. She can't move from her place.
Nico just watched amusedly. He knows that Kelsi was so hurt when she found out that he was missing. She even blamed herself.
Percy pulled away from her mom and turned to look at Kelsi. "Hey princess." He called wiping away his tears. He steps forward waiting for her.
Kelsi broke away from her trance. She steps forward to where her brother is. Percy opens his arms for her. Once she's near him she hits him in his chest. They were taken aback from what she did.
"I hate you! I hate you!" She yelled crying. "You said you're not going to leave me but you broke your promise!"
Percy tried to stop her. She was tall for her age and it wasn't easy to control her. "I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry." He whispered to her.
Eventually she calmed down and hugs her brother tightly. Percy strokes her hair. "I'm so sorry princess. Your brother is an idiot. But I'm here now and I'm not going anywhere." He soothed.
She sobs in his chest. "You better." She mumbled. He kissed her forehead. "I promise."
When they pulled apart Sally motioned them to sit on the table. Just in time the timer set off signaling that the cookies are ready. "Hope you guys are hungry."
Percy smiled at her. He missed the cookies. He put his shoulder on Kelsi as they make way towards the table. Sally put the plate in front of them. "Gods I miss this." Percy commented.
"Go ahead, be careful it still hot." She warned.
Percy just grinned at her. They start to dig in.
"You have to tell us where have you been? We want to know everything." Sally demanded as she sits beside him. Nico and Percy turned to look at each other. Nico nodded his head gesturing him to go on.
He let out a deep sigh before he began telling his story. He told them everything except the part that he fell in love with Annabeth. Right now he doesn't want them to know. It is better this way. He's not yet ready to tell them.
Nico eyed him curiously. Percy looks at him pleadingly not to tell anything about her. Nico understands him and didn't say anything.
"Oh honey." Sally said and she holds Percy's hand. "I can't imagine what you went through but I'm so glad you've met good people. We owe them big for taking care of you son. I want to meet Hestia I want to thank her and her son for taking care of you. I want to meet them personally."
Percy smiled at her mother. "Someday, I'll make sure that you're going to meet them. I know you'll going to love mom, err I mean Hestia. Mom, I hope you don't mind if I call her mom too? Do you? Jeez am I confusing you now?"
Sally laughs. "No son I don't mind. At least you got two moms now. Don't worry I am not jealous or anything."
Percy chuckled. He kissed her mom's cheek. "You're simply the best."
"I know." Sally chuckled. "I'm just so happy now that you're finally home."
"I am too." Percy replied smiling.
"Just because you're finally home doesn't mean that I will easily forget what you did." Kelsi stated.
"What do you mean?" Percy asked confused. "I thought I was forgiven already?"
"Yeah you are but that doesn't mean I will let you off the hook that easy." She threatened.
Percy pouted like a little child. "Oh come on princess." Kelsi just stuck her tongue out to him.
Nico shook his head. "Very mature guys." He teased. Sally laughs and hugs her children.
"Where's dad by the way?" Percy asked when Sally let go of them.
"He's in the office right now." Sally answered. "He'll be happy to hear that you're home now."
"I'm afraid to see him." He confessed. Sally turned to him and holds his hand. "Don't be. Your father loves you Percy. He even tried to find you."
"He did?" Percy asked confusedly. "He hated me. He blamed me for everything." He said sadly.
Sally shook her head. "At first, yes, he did. But he realized he's wrong. He loves you Percy. There's nothing more we want than to have you home."
"She's right." Nico offered. "He even went to LA to ask for my help."
"Oh."
"We all love you Percy. No need to worry about dad." Kelsi said smiling. "I'm sure he'll be happy that you're home just like us."
Percy smiled at her. "Me too kiddo."
"Ugh!" She complained. "Will you two stop calling me that?! I'm not a kid anymore. For gods sake I'm 15 years old."
"No you're not. You're just 14." Percy stated.
"But I'll be in a couple of months." She countered.
"Whatever you say." Nico chuckled.
Nico took one last bite and drinks his water. "My job here is done." He stands up and went to kiss Kelsi and Sally's cheek. "It was good to see you again. Thank you for the delicious cookies."
"Wait you're leaving already?"
"Yup, I need to drop by at the office. I've been gone for a couple of days and there's so much work to do."
"Okay. Thank you again Nico." Sally said. Nico smiled at her.
"Hey I'll talk to you soon." He turned towards Percy. Percy knew what he meant. They need to deal with serious matters. "Don't worry about it. We'll help you through it." Nico said when he sees the discomfort on his face.
"Thank you." He said to his cousin.
Once Nico left, Sally ordered his son to go to his room and rest. "I know you're tired. You should go and take a rest. We'll call you when it's time for dinner. Your dad will be home soon."
Percy nodded. He kissed her mom's cheek. "Come on." Kelsi said grabbing his hand.
When they reach his bedroom it was still the same as he remembers. "We didn't touch anything." Kelsi said when she sees his reaction. "We all know that you'll be back."
He ruffled her hair which earns him a smack on his chest. "Ouch." He complained.
She glared at him. "Go take a rest. We'll see you at dinner."
He nodded. Kelsi kissed his cheek and turned to leave. She closed the door behind her. Percy changed his clothes before going to bed. As soon as his body hit the bed he immediately falls asleep. It was like his body remembers the comfort of his own bed.
He woke up by the voice of her sister. "Percy, wake up." She shook him lightly.
"Hmm.." He mumbled. He put the pillow on top of his head blocking his sister's voice.
"Percy!" Kelsi complained. She rolled her eyes when he remembers how hard to wake up his brother. Nothing is changed. She grabbed another pillow and hit him hard. "Wake up you lazy butt!"
"Go away!" He complained.
She smirked and hit him again. "Jeez Percy get up dad is home and he's looking for you."
That wakes him up. "What?" He asked.
She crossed her arms. "Dad is downstairs. He said to come and get you."
Percy lazily sits up and rubs the sleep from his eyes. "How is he?" He asked.
She raised her eyebrow at him. "It's up to you to find out." She teased as he throws another pillow at him before walking out on his room.
"Hey!" He called out but she didn't glanced back at him.
"Brat." He mumbled to himself. He got out from his bed and went to the bathroom to changed and get ready.
He nervously went downstairs. His last conversation with his father didn't go too well. Now he doesn't know what to expect even with the assurance of his family that he's not mad at him.
When he reaches the end of the stairs he saw his dad looking at the lawn. His back is turned against him. He hesitated for a while but then he realized that he needs to get over with it.
He walks towards him. "Dad." He called.
Poseidon turned to look at his son. He is still the same but his hair is a bit longer. His skin was tanned. He gained some muscles but it still looks good on him making him more mature.
"Son." Poseidon opens his arms to Percy.
Percy hesitated for a while but then it is his father. He closed the gap and hugs him. "I'm so sorry Dad." He mumbled. Poseidon hugs him back.
"I'm just glad you're back. I'm so sorry too."
Percy pulled away. "I'm so sorry for the trouble that I've caused to our family." He said wiping away his tears.
"Let's just forget what happened, okay? Your mom told me everything. The important thing is you're finally home with us." Poseidon smiled at his son as he patted his arm.
"Thanks dad." He said hugging him again.
"Aww would you look at that." Kelsi teased holding her phone taking a video at the father and son moment.
Poseidon chuckled. Percy glared at her. "Will you stop that?!"
"What?" She said innocently.
"Kelsi." Percy threatened. "Delete it."
"Nuh ah." She shoved her phone in her pocket and stuck her tongue at him.
Percy started chasing her. They started running around the house. Poseidon shook his head amused by how his children were acting. He smiled knowing that his family is whole again although something is bothering him. He turned back his attention to Percy and Kelsi.
Kelsi runs to his father and hide on his back. "Tell him to stop chasing me dad." She pleaded while catching her breath.
Kelsi uses their father as a shield to her brother. "Give me your phone!" Percy demanded trying to get a hold of her.
"Okay that's enough." Sally ordered looking amused.
"Thank goodness." Kelsi muttered. Percy stops and pouted. He narrowed his eyes on Kelsi who looks so smug. "I'll get you next time."
"You wish." She mocked.
"Come on dinner is ready." Sally called.
Poseidon smiled. "Come on you two." He said as he puts his arms around Percy and Kelsi.
Sally's never been happy. She's so thankful that finally her family is complete again. Poseidon kissed her cheek as they approached her and together they head towards the dining area and have dinner together as a whole family.
What do you think? Is it good or bad?
I'll try to update as soon as I can.
