Chapter 50

Percy's POV

As much as I hated the fact that I will be working with Calypso again, I have to no choice but to do it. Our meeting with Uncle Hades didn't do any good on my part. It's been done so just deal with it. That's his words that kept ringing in my head. I want to strangle them both, meaning Nico and Uncle Hades. The last thing I want to be is to get involve with Calypso again. That's the downside of being an artist, there are things that you won't approve but you have no choice but to do it.

Kelsi's reaction was even more priceless. The moment I shared to her the news, she went nuts. As much as I hate the idea, she despised it more. I can't blame her though. She was the one who caught Calypso's cheating on me and the fact the she blamed her everything for revealing the truth about me. It's not exactly her fault but to Kelsi it was all her fault.

She even called Nico about it and you can guess how it goes. When she didn't get the answer that she wanted she turned her frustration on me.

"So you're just going to do it? Just like that?!"

"Kels, it's not like I have a choice."

"Of course you have but you're just agreeing to them."

She kept pacing back and forth in my room and I just watched her amusedly.

"Come here." I said patting the space beside me on the bed.

With a huffed she sits beside me. I put my arm around her shoulders.

"Listen, we both know that if I ever had a choice I wouldn't do it, right?"

She resigned and nodded. She turned to face me. "It's just that I don't want you to get hurt."

I chuckled slightly. "Why would you think that I would get hurt?"

"I don't know." I raised my eyebrow at her not believing her answer.

"Fine. I was afraid that you'll realize that you still have feelings for her and we know that she's with Jason now. I just don't want you hurting yourself again."

"I appreciate your concern but you know that I was over her for a long time now."

She eyed me as if trying to see if I was lying to her. Her gestured made me laugh.

"What the hell?" She asked annoyed.

I willed myself to stop laughing. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry." When I finally calmed down I tried to explain to her.

"I was laughing because of you thinking that I still like her which is in fact not very true anymore. Yeah she's important to me back then but that was the past and you know now who I love." The thought made me sad.

"Oh." She finally remembered who I was referring to. "Oh gods I'm so sorry, I totally forgot."

I smiled sadly to her. "It's okay."

"I'm so sorry for bringing that up." She hugged me trying to make me feel better. "I'm such an idiot."

"Hey it's okay. You're just concern of me but I want you to know that I can handle it. I can handle working with her. It will be a little awkward but I think we both can manage that. Maybe at the end of t we will be friends again."

She snorted. "There goes Mr. Optimistic again."

I ruffled her hair which earned me a punch. She got up and walks toward the door but she stops and turned to look at me again.

"What?"

She narrowed her eyes on me. "If she will ever do anything that will hurt you, I will not hesitate to punch her beautiful face."

That made me laugh once again.

Still on Percy's POV

Here I was lying on the couch in Nico's office waiting for them. Today we will be having our first meeting with the writer, Mr. Smith (A/N Let's just pretend he is a famous songwriter) and of course with Calypso. I arrived too early since I went straight from one of my early commitments. Not wanting to be late so I went straight there and inform Nico that I will be at his office and he agreed.

I must have dozed off because I felt someone lightly shaking me to wake up. It was Nico.

"Good Morning Sleeping Beauty." He teased.

I groggily sat up. "Are they here?"

Nico sits beside me. "Not yet but they will be here in any minute now."

I nodded and excused myself to go to the bathroom and fixed myself. I can't face them looking like I just woke up.

True to his words, they arrived minutes later, Mr. Smith, Calypso and her manager, Dory and of course Allie. We greeted each other casually. Calypso and I locked eyes and we smiled to each other timidly. No giving each other a hug just to save ourselves from the awkwardness.

We started the meeting, Mr. Smith and our managers mostly did the talking. They discussed the schedules of our rehearsals and up to the final recording of our song. Calypso and I just listened to them and there are times that I caught her looking at me.

Mr. Smith handed to us the copy of the lyrics of the song and a CD which contains the melody of the song. He said that we need to listen to it to be able to cope up easily when we begin rehearsing. While they were talking I read the lyrics of the song and I have to restrain myself from questioning Mr. Smith on why he has to choose us to do his song.

I take a quick glance at Calypso and I can tell that she was having the same thoughts as mine. Is Mr. Smith trying to play us? The title of the song is "Almost is never enough" (by Ariana Grande and Nathan Sykes). For me the song is not suitable for us basing from what happened between us. Why did he have to choose us to sing the song?

I was about to ask him the question when I catched Nico's eyes and he shook his head. He knew what I was thinking and he's trying to stop me from doing it. I narrowed my eyes on him but he just shook his head. I have no choice but to keep quiet.

Luckily the meeting ended. We are set to start the rehearsals next week. We said goodbye to them. Allie remained with us discussing my schedules to Nico. I was simply listening to them. When they were done, Allie reminded me that in an hour we were heading to a photo shoot for a magazine's cover. She said that she will meet me downstairs.

Once Allie was out at the office, I turned to Nico.

"Why.."

"I know what you're going to ask." He cut me off. "I read the lyrics Perce."

"I should have known."

He smirked. "You liked it?"

"Is he playing with us or something?" I voice out my thoughts a while ago.

He shook his head. "I really don't know. It's just a song Perce. Maybe he thought you two singing the song will attract the people."

"I bet it will. It will even cause a drama. Jason will have a fit when he will learn what the song is all about." I chuckled.

Nico laughs. "Oh right, I bet that will be hilarious. The guy hates you so much. I wonder how he was taking the fact that his girlfriend is going to work with his ex."

"I would pay to see that." I stated.

"As much as I want you to stay here, you need to get going. You wouldn't want to be late on your appointment."

"Oh right." I stand up and head towards the door. "Hey I almost forgot." I turned to look back at him.

"What is it?"

"Have you talked to Charles about my plan?"

Nico rubs the back of his neck. "Oh I forgot, just a bit preoccupied lately and it slip off my mind. But don't worry I'll talk to him soon."

"Oh okay. Just don't forget okay? We only have 6 more weeks before the concert."

"Don't worry. We still have plenty of time."

I nodded. "I wanted to tell him myself but I was always busy."

Nico chuckled. "I know that. Don't worry about it. I'll take care of it. Now shoo Allie is waiting for you."

"Okay. See you later."

LINEBREAK

Patras, Greece

Charles was standing outside the familiar house. Good memories were flashing back in his mind just as he was looking at it.

It has been a couple of days after the dinner and he thought that maybe she forgotten about catching things up.

After days of waiting, he poured himself on working hard to keep his mind of her. Just as he was making progress, Silena called him and asked if they could have dinner tonight. So that's how he ends up in her front door.

He adjusted his tie again and checked his clothes before finally pushing the doorbell button. Seconds later the door finally opens revealing a smiling Silena.

He catches his breath. Silena was looking gorgeous.

"Hi." She greeted.

Charles has to swallow the lump on his throat. "H..hi."

"Looking good." Silena compliment him.

He smiled. "You look beautiful."

Silena blushed. "Thank you."

"Ready to go?" Charles offered his hand to her which she gladly accepts.

Charles opens the car door for her. She can't help but smile. He's still a gentleman. Silena can't help but think that it was just like this when they had their first date back then.

The drive to the restaurant was quiet since they were both gauging each other's feelings right at the moment. Only the soft music playing was heard. When Silena can't take the silence,

"Where are we going?"

Charles glanced at her. "You'll see." He smiled.

Silena just raised her eyebrow at him. When she called him if he was available, Charles said that he'll be the one to plan where they are going to eat. So she has no idea where he was taking her. He just said that she just needs to dress fancy.

She catches her breath once she saw where he was taking her. Charles saw her reaction and he reached for her hand and squeezed it. She turned to look at him and she can't help but be hopeful.

Charles took her to their favorite restaurant.

"Wait." He said and he went out to open the door for her.

Charles offered his hand to her and she gladly took it once again. To others they just like a normal couple on a date.

They were ushered on their table. Charles pulled the chair for her and she thanked him for that.

They said their orders.

While eating Charles asked her about her life in New York, she said that it's been good. She said that she made the right choice in pursuing her career there.

In return Silena asked him about his work. He said nothing is new.

They talked random things after that. But then again they can't forever avoid the topic which caused them to break up.

"I'm sorry." Charles blurted out.

"For what?" Silena asked confused.

"For what happened in the past with Percy and for everything."

She smiled sadly. "It's okay. It was already in the past now."

"We never even have the chance to talk before you went to New York. I never got the chance to apologize."

"I should have talked to you at least." She offered. "I'm sorry too."

"No need to apologize. I'm just glad that at least were okay now."

She smiled. "Yeah."

"So were totally okay now? We're friends again?" Charles asked.

Friends, Silena cringed on the word. "But of course."

Charles smiled at her which melted Silena's heart. She loved his smiled way back then and up until now.

"So." She started. "Are you dating someone?" She was dreading that question but she needs to ask it for her sanity.

Charles pursed his lips. For a second he looks away and then he looks at her.

"Yes."

One simple word but Silena felt like the whole world collapsed on her. She's not a hypocrite to deny that she still have feelings for him. Of course back then she was mad at him but she never stops loving him. Seeing him again just intensified her feelings but she wasn't expecting that he already had moved on from her.

"Oh."

Charles smiled sadly at her.

"So who is she? Someone I knew?" She asked although it was breaking her heart.

Charles shook his head. "She's a co worker."

"What's her name?"

"Amber."

"That's a pretty name."

"Thanks."

"So how long are you guys going out? Did the others know?"

"Just a couple of weeks ago, nothing too serious yet, were just enjoying each other's company." Charles studied her during the whole conversation. And he felt like Silena was hurting during the talk.

"Only Leo knows by the way." Charles explained.

"Why?"

"We're not official yet."

They resumed their eating but after a couple of minutes, "I'm sorry but can we go now?" Silena asked.

"Is everything okay?" He asked concerned.

"I just don't feel so good suddenly."

"Oh okay." Charles called the waiter and paid their bill.

"You sure you're okay?" Charles asked again while they were driving back to her house.

She nodded. She looked outside the window to avoid any more conversation between them. The ride home was awfully quiet.

Silena can't help but feel sad knowing that he's seeing someone else. Earlier that night she was hopeful that they can pick up things from where they left behind but it wasn't the case anymore. He finally moved on. And what was sad about it is that she can understand why he did.

She can't blame him because she was the one who left.

Charles frequently glanced at her during the ride back but he did say a thing. She was glad though that he gave her space.

Why did he have to bring her to their favorite restaurant only to find out that he was dating someone else? But then again she was the one assuming things between them.

She didn't even realize that they were already parked outside her house.

"Silena." Charles called her softly.

"Hmm.."

"We're here."

"Oh." Was her stupid reply.

Charles opened the door for her. She glanced at the house and for a second she wonders why the lights inside were on. Did she forget to turn it off?

She forgot about it when she felt Charles hand on her back guiding her.

Once they reached the front door. She turned to face him.

"Thanks for the dinner." She said.

"It was my pleasure. Thank you too."

"For what?"

"For being us friends again, I have missed you."

She sadly smiled. "I missed you too."

Charles gave a nervous laugh and scratched the back of his neck. "You should go inside now. Take a rest okay?"

Silena just nodded.

Charles reached for her face and gently strokes it. She can't help but to feel hopeful for a second but then again he retreated his hand.

"Good night Silena." He turned his back on her.

"Wait."

Charles turned to look at her again. "What?"

Silena walked towards him and kissed his cheek. "I wish you happiness Charles." She said and immediately turns her back on him but Charles caught her arm before she can finally opens the door.

"Do you mean that?" He asked.

"Huh?" She asked.

"That you want me to be happy?"

Silena nodded. She felt that any second now she will be crying if Charles won't let her go.

"Then you won't be mad then if I have to do this?" He asked a little hopeful.

"Do what?"

Before she knows it, Charles crushed his lips on her. For a second she was shocked but then again she was waiting the whole night for this.

She finds herself kissing him back. Their kiss becomes more passionate. They kissed hungrily. She felt her back on the door. They poured all their emotions on the kiss. Telling each other how much they missed each other for the past four months.

She left a moan when Charles hand roamed on her bare back. In between kisses she managed to say that they should go inside. She didn't want her neighbors to see them making out at her front door.

Charles let her go for a second but then leaned in again for another kiss while reaching for the knob. But to their utter surprised the door suddenly opens which causes Silena to fall back because her back was still on the door. Luckily Charles caught her.

Thalia and Annabeth were laughing their ass off when they saw the two.

It took Charles and Silena some time to register what happened.

Charles and Silena composed themselves. They were embarrassed that they were caught making out in front of her house.

Then SIlena realized what were Thalia and Annabeth doing at her house. "What are you two doing here?" She asked sternly while trying to cover up her blushed. "How did you managed to get inside."

Thalia showed her the keys. "You gave this to us remember before you went to New York."

"Oh." Then she narrowed her eyes on them. "Then what are you doing here?"

Charles was just standing silently beside Silena, not wanting to be caught up between their bickering.

Thalia and Annabeth smirked. "We just wanted to check up on you on after your date."

"And by the looks of it, it went well." Annabeth shrugged.

"Far too well." Thalia teased.

Silena rolled her eyes. "Now that you know, can you please go now?"

Thalia and Annabeth shook their heads. It annoyed Silena even more.

"Uh I guess I should go now." Charles finds his voice again.

Silena pouted. He can't help but smile, she looks so cute.

"I'll see you tomorrow." He promised while he strokes her cheek.

"Promise?"

"Promise." He stated and pecks her lips.

The kiss should be quick but Silena has other idea. She wrapped her arms around his neck pulling him to her to deepen the kiss. They momentarily forgot that their friends were watching them.

"Oh gods stop it already." Thalia groaned.

Finally she let him go and smirked at their friends, serves them right for ruining the rest of their night.

Charles said his goodbyes to the two. Silena accompanied him outside. It took her a couple of minutes to get back inside.

"Can't get enough of each other huh?" Annabeth teased.

Silena rolled her eyes. "You really two know how to ruin the night huh."

"What can I say?" Thalia shrugged. "We're the best."

"Ugh I hate you guys." Silena whined.

"Oh come on Princess, you'll see him again tomorrow and we promise that we will not there to stop whatever things you have in mind."

Silena grabbed the pillow next to her and throw it at Thalia.

"You have a dirty mind."

Thalia and Ananbeth laugh at her.

"Alright we are going." Annabeth informed Silena.

"What?" Silena asked dumbfounded.

"What?" Thalia shrugged. "We told you we are just checking up on you. So now that you are safely home.."

"And happy, I may add." Annabeth butted in.

"We're going home." They said in unison and smirked at Silena's expression.

Silena groaned. "Then why didn't you leave when Charles was still here?" She asked frustrated.

"What's the fun in that?" Thalia stated.

"I hate you two." Silena whined.

Annabeth and Thalia chuckled. They gave her a hug which she returned. The two become serious.

"Glad that things turn out to be okay between you two."

Silena nodded but then she remembered than Charles was seeing someone. She told it to them.

Thalia just shrugged it. "It came up from him that it wasn't official, that they were not "dating" yet."

"Don't worry about it. Charles still loves you and you are together again." Annabeth pointed out.

"And are you okay with it?" Suddenly Silena asked Annabeth.

"Why would I not be okay with it?" Annabeth asked confused.

"You know his Percy's so called brother."

Annabeth chuckled. "It's fine by me. I don't see a problem with that."

Silena squaled . "Thank you, I was worried that you will be mad."

Annabeth rolled her eyes. "I'm not that shallow you know."

Silena smiled sadly at her. "I know."

"Okay chop chop enough with the drama." Thalia interferes. "Bye Silena."

She dragged Annabeth towards the door leaving a rather happy Silena.

Annabeth's POV

It has been an hour since we got back from Silena's place. I was happy for them that even after what happened they were still together again. Silena caught me by surprise by asking if I was okay with it. Of course it is. For me Silena and Charles are meant to be even before Percy come in the picture.

Percy. I smiled thinking about his name. It has been four months since our talk. I missed him. Yes you heard me right. I miss him.

My hand absentmindedly went to the necklace I was wearing. Yes it was the necklace that Percy gave me when he confessed that he loves me. I smiled remembering that day. My thought was interrupted by my phone buzzing.

Just as I predicted it was a text from him. By him, means it was from Percy. No one knows that he was texting me every day from the past couple of months. He never failed to text me. At first he tried calling me but I never returned any of his call. Then he resolved into texting when his calls were never returned.

I grab my phone and open the message. It was just like the other texts he was sending me. He's wondering how I was doing. Telling me to take care always and that he always thinks about me. Sometimes he even shared how his day went. His texts were always different every day. Maybe to tell me that it wasn't an automated text (A/N is that what it called? I'm not pretty sure though: The texts that were scheduled to send at a given time and day) that he was doing it ever day for me. His text always ends with I love you.

I was having a hard time stopping myself from replying back. I remembered the day I saw him during one of his shows. I was in New York with Thalia. We visited Silena there. Then came one day when I was free, Thalia said that she was meeting some friend while Silena has to go to work. I found out that he was having a show and it took me a while debating with myself if I have to go and see him and I did.

3 months, three painful months that I hadn't seen him. He still looks gorgeous but his eyes were different, they seemed to be sad. I watch from a far, carefully hiding myself from him. He cut his hair but not too short. He lost weight but it fits him. I can tell that he toned his body.

I just watched him singing one of his songs. It was the first time seeing him sings live on his shows. Honestly I watched a couple of his shows when I miss him and he was really good. I can't believe I missed that when we were together. Yeah I only found out later that he was a good singer but I never knew that he was that good.

I waited until the show was about to end. I even consider showing myself to him that day but I resigned. It's not yet time. When I was satisfied enough I left the show. I even cried that night. Seeing him was a mixture of happiness and sadness.

I never told Thalia and Silena about it. When they asked me where I went I lied. I told them I went to Central Park. I failed to notice that Thalia was a bit happier than usual that day. Unfortunately after a couple of days we need to go home. And I never had the chance to see him again.

I let out a deep sigh as I tossed my phone at my side. Seeing Silena and Charles back together was making me rather jealous. I want to be happy just like them but how? I grab my phone and went through the messages again.

All of his messages were stored in my phone. I never deleted any of his messages, not a single one. I browse all the messages and I can't help but smile. The idiot never fails to show how much he still loves me.

I close my eyes when I had enough. One day I thought. One day we will be together again.
