Chapter 51

Nico was exhausted from his flight. His flight got delayed for about 2 hours and it was killing him. Luckily it didn't took him long enough to see the person he's looking. He waved at him and for a moment he felt relieved. He made his way to him.

"Welcome back to Greece." Charles greeted him with a smile.

They hug each other. Even though his stay in Greece last time was not long enough, it didn't stop them from getting along easily.

"How was your flight?"

"It was tiring. Sorry for the delay." Nico apologized.

"It's no big deal. Come on let's get home. Mom is excited to see you." Charles informed him.

Nico smiled remembering Hestia. They made their way to the parking area.

"Thanks for picking me up. I take it you didn't go to work today?"

Charles chuckled. "It's okay. Don't mention it. It was not a big deal besides I needed to take some time off. The past couple of days were so exhausting."

"I can't blame you on that. I feel the same way."

"Then here's your chance to relax."

"Yeah, it's a good thing Dad allowed me on this trip."

"So he knows you're here?"

"Yup, I can't lie to him." Nico chuckled. "I made him promise though not to tell Percy the truth."

"So Percy doesn't really have a clue that you're here in Greece?"

Nico laughs. "Yeah, he thought I was going to London. I made up excuses when he asked why I am not going to Australia with them."

"Ah so he's in Australia today?"

"Yes." Nico answered. "He'll stay there for a week. He's going to be very busy."

A minute later they arrived at the house. Charles and Nico got out from the car. Hestia was waiting for them.

"Nico!" Hestia greeted him happily. She gave him a motherly hug which he returned willingly.

"Aunt Hestia." He smiled. Hestia insisted him to call her aunt since they've met. She insisted that he's also a family. He didn't object since she was indeed like a mother to him, next to Sally. He and his sisters look up to Sally since she treats them like her own. And now he's grateful that Hestia does the same.

"How are you? You look more handsome." Hestia smiled at him.

"Oh, I don't think so." Nico said blushing.

"Of course you do. Now come inside. I know both of you are hungry so I prepared food for you."

"Yeah I'm starving." Charles stated. He grabs Nico's bag to bring it inside. Nico protested but he just waved him off.

"So how's Percy doing?" Hestia asked while they were eating.

"He's fine. He's a bit busy right now with all of his tours and promotions. He's in Australia right now."

"Glad to hear he's doing fine. Oh right I remember him mentioning a tour in Australia last week. He kept on apologizing for not calling always." Hestia chuckled.

"Ah, typical Percy." Charles commented.

Nico smiled. "You know him. If possible he doesn't want to disappoint anyone."

Charles and Hestia nodded. The rest of the meal consists of talking about Percy and Nico's real purpose on coming to Greece. When they finished eating, they let him take a rest. They gave him the room that he once occupied last time. He thanked them and he went to take a nap because tonight they are about to surprise everyone.

Nico was startled by the loud ringing of his cell phone. He lazily opens his eyes and for a while he wondered where he is and then he remembered that he was in Patras. He glanced at the wall clock and it read 4pm. He was already asleep for 5 hours. Charles and Hestia must have let him sleep and he is thankful for that.

He ignored his phone and began dozing off again after it ended ringing but then it began again. With annoyance, he grabs the phone at the bedside table and it was Kelsi who's calling him.

He accepted the call. "Yes?" He asked annoyed.

"Well someone's grumpy." Kelsi teased.

"It's because you woke me up." Nico grumbled.

"Oh my gods you're still sleeping. Don't you know what time is it already there?"

"Of course, it's 4 in the afternoon."

"No dummy. It is already 11pm here so that means it is only 2pm there. Gosh Nico you should know the time difference."

"No I'm pretty sure it's…" Nico stops then he remembered that Kelsi and Percy thought that he was in London to attend some business matters.

"Oh right, I miss calculated."

Kelsi snorted. "Haha I knew it. So how's London?"

Nico rolled his eyes. He is not in the mood to talk especially when you're lying.

"Fine, same old London, nothing new I guess. By the way, why are you even awake?"

"What? It's too early and besides I can't sleep."

"Then why bother me instead? Go bother your brother." He felt a little bad suggesting that.

"As much as I want to but I can't. He's already asleep. He's very tired after the show. So being a good sister I let him take his rest." Kelsi beamed.

"Aww that's so sweet of you."

"But of course."

"Hey listen."

"What?"

"Please behave. I gave you the permission to go there but please stay out of trouble. I don't want to get another call from Allie telling me that both of you ditch your bodyguards again. We had enough already. I don't want to organize another search party."

"Oh please. Quit whining."

"I am not. I'm just merely looking out for you, especially you." Nico said pointedly.

"Ouch, you hurt me right there. Are you saying that I am a bad influence to my brother?"

"Do you want me to answer that?"

"No. But whatever, oh I just remembered I need to do something. Bye."

Nico groaned. He tried to go back to sleep but he can't. So he forced himself to get up.

He went out of his room to look for Hestia or Charles. He heard the faint sound of the TV in the living room so he decided to go there. He saw Charles watching some show.

"Hey." Nico greeted.

"Oh hey you're awake. Are you hungry? We didn't wake you up since we know you're tired from your flight. There's a food in the fridge. I'll heat it for you." Charles offered.

"Oh no. I am fine. I can handle it."

"Oh okay. Feel free to use the kitchen." Charles called after him.

After a couple of minutes Nico joined Charles on the living room.

"Oh gods that was delicious. Thank you."

Charles smiled. "Glad you like it."

"Definitely, I didn't know I was starving before I smell the food." Nico mused. "Where's Aunt Hestia by the way?"

"She went to the store to check things up."

"Does Leo know that I'm here?"

Charles shook his head. "Only mom and I know that you're here."

"That's good then."

"So how's Percy?" Charles asked.

Nico knows what Charles really want to know.

"I really don't know. Sometimes I ask him but he just waved me off telling me that he's fine but I don't believe him."

"Why?"

"There are times I caught him with a faraway look in his eyes. There are even times that he just zoned out when some things reminds her to him."

Charles kept quiet just listening to Nico.

"Kelsi and I caught him a couple of times staring at his phone looking at her pictures." Nico added. "Don't you have any news about her?"

Charles didn't answer right away. He's mentally debating with himself if he's going to tell Nico the truth that Annabeth was back in Patras again and that he might see her tonight. So to avoid shocking Nico he decided to tell him the truth.

"Actually, there is." Charles admitted.

"You mean you heard from her? "

Charles nodded while avoiding Nico's gaze.

"We saw her a couple of weeks ago."

"But why?" Nico butted in.

"I know you were wondering why we didn't tell Percy about it." Charles cut him off. "It was a hard decision for us but we decided that it was for the best at least right now."

Charles told Nico about what they have talked about during that night. They didn't see Annabeth again after the dinner. He only found out from Silena that Thalia and Annabeth were called back to Athens for work.

Charles took Nico's silence to continue his story.

"Actually I still have 1 confession to make."

"What is it?"

"Silena and I got back together and I didn't tell Percy about it. I just don't want to hurt him when he and Annabeth are far from being okay."

Nico let out a deep sigh. Of course he knew about it but he didn't tell Charles. Why does he know these things? Well you're going to find out soon.

"I understand. If I'm in your position I would do the same. But anyway it was good to know that you and Silena got back together." Nico said. "I remembered last time I was here, she was really mad at you."

Charles smiled sheepishly. "Yeah you can say that. It was worth the wait though. "

"So I guess I'm going to see her tonight too?"

"Yeah you will."

"So what are you going to do when you see Annabeth tonight?"

"Honestly, I don't know." Nico admitted. "Let's just wait and see how it goes."

Charles agrees with him and they settled on watching an interview on Percy and they can't help but laugh how the host's trying miserably to flirt with Percy.

At Silena's House

Tonight they were having a dinner again after a couple of weeks. Silena was lucky enough to gather them all together again. She pleaded to Annabeth and Thalia to be there since Charles asked her. She asked Charles what's the dinner about but he just said that they needed it to catch things up from the past couple of months. She wouldn't believe him at first. She thought that maybe Charles is up to something.

So here they are in her living room. They were all waiting for Charles to arrive. She was wondering where her boyfriend is. His last text was an hour ago. She tried calling him but he wouldn't pick up.

The girls were on the kitchen preparing dinner while the boys were on the living room watching a sports game.

"Where's Charles?" Thalia asked.

"I don't know. I've been trying to call him but he wouldn't answer his phone." Silena pouted.

"Aww you miss him already." Clarisse teased.

Their friends already knew that they got back together and they were hoping that someday Percy and Annabeth can get back together too.

Silena just stuck her tongue out at her.

"I'm hungry." Thalia whined. "Can we start eating now? He'll just catch up."

"Hey, that's not very nice." Silena whined.

"I'm just teasing you princess." Thalia snorted. "Let's just watch TV then with the boys while waiting for your prince charming."

"Yeah that will be nice, maybe we can watch discovery channel for awhile." Annabeth suggested while smirking.

"Oh please, not that again. I have to put up with you back in the house but please not here." Thalia complained.

Annabeth laughs at them. "I know, I was just simply teasing you."

Thalia glared at her.

They were getting ready to go to the living room when the door bell rings. Immediately Silena sprinted to the door leaving them behind.

The girls just chuckled at Silena. They heard the front door opens and then they heard the boys greeting Charles but then it get quiet.

The girls got curious and went to the living room immediately. Just as they enter the living room, they saw Charles standing at the door but he wasn't alone. Standing beside him is none other than Nico di Angelo.

The boys were shocked too. Even Silena was just staring at Nico. Nico was a little bit uncomfortable by their stares. Well he wasn't that close to them. Charles and Leo were the only one he was close with.

But then they weren't expecting when Thalia squealed and run towards Nico. She tackled him with a bone cruching hug. Good thing Nico was taller and stronger so he managed no to fall back by the sudden outburst of Thalia.

They were all gawking at Nico and Thalia but they were too busy on their own little bubble. They pulled apart slightly and then Nico kissed her. Got that right. Nico just kissed her and she was kissing him back. They must have forgotten that their friends were around them confused on what was happening in front of them.

When Silena recovered, she looked at her boyfriend and he was also lost just like them.

"Good gods, can someone please explain what we are seeing right now." Connor exclaimed.

Upon hearing that, Thalia and Nico pulled back from each other and they blush a deep shade of red.

"What? How?" Charles can't even process a simple question. Nico never mentioned anything about Thalia. Or did he do that on purpose?"

Nico looked at Thalia. He was silently asking her to do the honor of explaining it to them.

Thalia looked at their friends. They were all wear a stunned looked on their faces. Thalia wanted to laugh but when her gaze turns to Annabeth, she felt a sudden guilt.

Annabeth crossed her arms and raised her eyebrow at Thalia. Her bestfriend failed to tell her that she's dating Nico now for God knows how long.

"Umm I guess we owe you all an explanation." Thalia started.

"Damn right." Silena exclaimed.

She felt Nico hold her hand and squeezed it.

"Why don't we all sit down and we'll try to explain the best way we can." Nico offered.

"That's a good idea." Charles commented.

So they went all to sit down. What amusing is that Nico and Thalia sit on one of the couch and the others squeezed themselves in the opposite couch. It looks like the two were in an interrogation room.

"So go on." Annabeth demanded.

Nico cleared his throat finding some courage. He's a person that can't be easily intimidated but right now the looks that were given to them makes him want to bolt out. Thalia squeezed his hand as if reading his thoughts. She smiled at him and all his worries were left forgotten.

So he started their story from the time they met on the airport when he went to look for Percy. They instantly felt a connection from each other and before they separate their ways they exchanged numbers. That's when they decided to meet again at the bar. But that was cut short when Nico saw Percy during that night. By the time Percy's real identity was revealed, Thalia tried to forget him.

When Nico and Percy went back to New York, Nico tried contacting her. He failed a couple of times. Thalia ignored him. But it didn't keep him from trying hard. As cheesy as it sounds Nico admitted that he fell in love with Thalia the first time he saw her.

Thalia blushed upon hearing this. She quickly kissed Nico on the lips which earned a couple of complaints from their friends but they didn't mind.

Thalia resumed the story. She said that she tried her best to ignore and forget Nico but she failed. She just find herself one day answering his calls and texts. From there they became so close. She admitted that Nico visited her in Athens after a month of communicating and that's when they became a couple.

"What?" Charles asked. "So this isn't the 2nd time you're visiting?"

Nico smiled timidly. He said that he managed to get a week off from work. No one from his family knows where he went.

From then on they took turns from visiting each other. Thalia admitted that he went to see Nico during their trip to New York. She apologized to Silena and Annabeth from keeping it from them.

"So how long are you two going out already?" Leo asked amused.

"3 months." Thalia admitted.

Travis and Connor whistled.

"Wow." Silena exclaimed. "I felt a little hurt from keeping it from us but I'm happy for you guys!" She squealed and hugs both Nico and Thalia.

Their friends were happy for them. They weren't expecting it though.

Thalia approached Annabeth. "I'm sorry. I was trying to tell you but I don't know how."

Annabeth smiled and hug her. "I understand. I'm happy for you."

"Oh my gods, you don't know how much that means to me."

"You're being overdramatic." Annabeth snorted.

"Hey I am telling the truth."

"Yeah yeah whatever." Annabeth laughs.

Nico approached Annabeth as well. "Thanks for taking it easily."

Annabeth rolled her eyes. "Will you two quit it?"

Nico and Thalia hug her.

Once they released her, Nico noticed the necklace that Annabeth's wearing. He was supposed to ask her but he was cut by Connor's whining that he was hungry. So they decided to go and eat.

During dinner, all attention was focused on Nico much to his disappointment. They took turns on asking him questions. At first they were asking about their relationship and then it turns to Percy. He never minded though but he carefully answered them and sometimes he can't help but take a glance at Annabeth to see her reaction. Annabeth just kept quiet when the topic was about Percy but Nico didn't fail to notice that she's fidgeting with her necklace during those talks.

At first the talk was about serious matters then it gradually went to teasing Nico and Thalia. Thalia was starting to get annoyed with the boys especially with the Stoll brothers.

"If you two won't shut up…" Thalia threatened.

Travis and Connor just laugh but Katie smacked both of their heads. Thalia shot her a thankful look.

"Anyways, there's a reason that Nico is here." Charles butted in.

"Oh you mean it wasn't just to see Thalia?" Leo teased. Thalia groaned which earned a couple of snickers from the group.

Nico squeezed Thalia's hand while suppressing a smile.

"Actually there's a first in the list, seeing Thalia was only second." Nico played along.

Thalia elbowed him. "What?!" She demanded.

The group erupted in to laughter.

Nico hug her but she pushed him. "I was joking." He cried.

Thalia glared at him but she didn't push him away anymore.

"Wow I never thought you'd know how to joke." Clarisse teased.

"Excused me?" Nico asked confused.

"Well you see, the first time we met you, you just punched your cousin in the face." Clarisse stated. "And then the 2nd time you were all very serious."

"Oh I see." Nico smiled. "I apologized for that time though. I was just frustrated with Percy back then."

"So what's your main purpose on coming here?" Katie voiced out.

"You see Percy's biggest concert will happen three weeks from now and he wanted you all to come." Nico declared.

"Oh the one in Madison Square Garden in New York?" Chris asked.

Nico nodded.

"He wanted to ask you guys personally but with his schedules, it's hard to do so. Charles knows about it though."

"Yup, he mentioned it to me and he said that Nico will be the one to organize things for us if we ever decided to go." Charles added.

"Wow, you mean he want us all to go to New York?" Connor asked disbelievingly.

"Yup, this one is far the biggest concert he is going to do and he wants all of you to be there."

"Wow that's amazing." Chris stated. "I've never been to New York and this is a great opportunity, don't you think honey?" He asked Clarisse.

Clarisse smiled. "I guess so."

"You wouldn't worry a thing. We will provide everything for you."

"Oh I wouldn't worry about that you are all far too capable to do that." Leo smirked.

Reyna hit him at the back of his head. "What?!" He whined.

"Learn your manners." Reyna scolded him.

"What? It's Percy and Nico that we're talking about. Their families are the.."

"Alright that's enough." Nico cut him off. Leo pouted but he obeyed.

"Mom is going too." Charles informed them. "She wouldn't miss her son's biggest concert of the year." Charles smiled.

"How long are we staying there if we decided to go?" Travis asked.

"You can all stay as long as you like." Nico offered.

"Damn!" Connor cursed. "Then can I stay there forever?" He smiled mischievously.

"You wished." Thalia countered.

"Aww too selfish." Connor teased. Thalia just stuck her tongue out at him.

"So Percy really doesn't know that you're here?" Silena asked.

"Yes, he and Kelsi are in Australia right now so I didn't have the hard time keeping it from them. Although they thought that I am in London right now."

"So you did all of this for Percy?" Leo asked.

"Yeah, I wanted to surprise him and make sure that you're all going." For a second he looks at Annabeth and their eyes met but she turned to look away.

"Oh that's so sweet of you." Silena cooed.

"Percy's like my brother. I'll do anything for him. Besides he deserves it after all that happened. I just hope you could all go." Nico said hopeful.

"You said you wanted to surprise him?" Charles asked.

"Well about that, I have a little plan in my mind." Nico said smiling.

"Oh I like to hear your plan." Connor said grinning.

"Sorry to disappoint you Connor but it's nothing what you have in mind."

Connor scowled. "You're no fun."

Nico just chuckled. So he told them about his plan.

Charles pondered about the idea. "Don't you think it will not affect Percy's performance if he believes you?"

"Hmm I don't think so. Percy always gives his best during his performances whether he's feeling good or not."

"Okay, if you say so."

LINEBREAK

Annabeth is on the veranda sipping her coffee when Nico approached him.

"Hey." Nico greeted. "Mind if I join you?"

"No not at all."

"Why are you here all alone?" Nico asked.

"Just thinking."

"I hope I'm not bothering you."

Annabeth just smiled at him.

Silence engulfed them. Nico was contemplating on how to talk to her when she blurted the question he wasn't expecting.

"How is he?"

It took seconds before Nico answered her. He thought of lying to her but what's the use.

"He misses you so much."

Annabeth kept quiet and Nico took the opportunity to talk.

"He always thinks of you. Percy still loves you Annabeth. And he's sorry for hurting you."

She never said a word.

"That necklace that you're wearing.." Nico started.

Annabeth holds the necklace and looks at Nico. "What about this?"

"He gave it to you right?"

Annabeth narrowed her eyes. No one knows that Percy gave it to her.

"How did you know? Did he tell you?"

Nico shook his head.

"Then how come you knew about it?"

"Because that's a family heirloom." Nico stated.

Annabeth has a shocked look on her face. Percy never mentioned it to her.

Nico explained it to her. "Every male from our family inherits a certain jewelry that we will soon be giving to our chosen ones. That piece of jewelry passes from generation to generation. Percy and I received our own the moment we turned eighteen."

Annabeth motioned him to go on.

"The one that you're wearing has come from Aunt Sally. Uncle P gave it to her." He smiled.

"Wow, I don't know what to say."

"Aunt Sally told us that we should only give it to the person that we love and that we are sure that we are spending the rest of our life with."

Annabeth was overwhelmed by that. She didn't know. Oh Percy.

She's trying to hold the tears from her eyes.

"Percy love you very much Annabeth and I hope you'll find it in your heart to forgive him and give him another chance."

Annabeth looked away from Nico, trying to hide her tears that finally fall down from her eyes.

Nico stood up but before he goes. "I hope we will see you in New York."

Nico walks away, leaving a silent crying Annabeth.

Annabeth looked at her necklace and right then she made up her mind.

Fast forward to two days before Percy's big concert on MSG.

They were currently at the airport waiting for their flight. Nico said that someone is going to pick them up. All they need is to ready their things and bring their passports.

Thalia's phone rings.

"Hey babe." It was Nico.

"Hey you. We are at the airport right now. Who are we waiting for exactly?"

"Lucy, my secretary." He stated. He gave her description but Nico assures her that she will going to recognize them.

"Is she with you?" Nico asked.

"Not yet." Thalia said sadly. "We've been trying to call her but her phone was off."

"Oh." Nico can't hide his disappointment but part of him was expecting that it will happen.

"We still have an hour left before the flight and Lucy was not here yet. Maybe she just got caught up with something." Thalia tried reassuring him.

"I hope so. Percy's going to be devastated."

"I know."

"Listen I need to go now. I need to call Lucy to know where she is. Just stay where you are, okay? So that she can easily find you."

"Okay."

"Bye. I can't wait to see you."

"Me too."

"I love you. Call me as soon as you land to New York."

"I will."

"Is that Nico?" Charles asked.

Thalia nodded. "Any news about her?"

Their friends shook their heads. Thalia let out a deep sigh. She thought that she is coming with them.

"Excuse me. Are you Thalia Grace?" A girl younger than her approached her.

"Yes."

"Hi I'm Lucy, Sir Nico's secretary. I'm here to pick you up guys." She said giddily.

"Oh hi. Glad you recognized us." Thalia said.

She smiled at them. "Are you guys ready to go? The plane is already waiting for us."

Thalia turned to look at Charles and Hestia. Charles smiled sadly at her. They weren't expecting her to show up anymore.

She tried calling her again but it went directly to her voice mail.

"Nothing?" Clarisse asked. Thalia shook her head.

The whole group was sad knowing that the one person that Percy's hoping to see is not going.

"I guess we're ready." Thalia declared.

"Okay, just follow me." Lucy stated.

The group gathers their belongings and followed Lucy.

They weren't that far when someone called to them.

"Guys wait up!"

All of them snapped their heads towards her direction.

Annabeth was breathing hard. She stops for a moment to catch her breath.

She walks towards them. "I'm sorry I'm late got a little stuck on the traffic."

Thalia and Silena squealed hugging her. Katie, Reyna and Clarisse joined them.

"Gods we thought you're not coming." Katie exclaimed.

"You nearly gave us a heart attack."

"Sorry. I tried calling you but my phone battery got empty."

"It doesn't matter. You're here now and that what matters." Hestia butted in.

Annabeth turns toward her and to Hestia's amazement, she hugs her.

Hestia hugs her back with a teary eyed. She's hoping that this is a good sign.

"Um I'm sorry to interrupt but we need to keep going." Lucy said shyly.

"Oh sorry we got carried away." Thalia smiled.

Charles smiled at Annabeth and she can't help but smile back.

"New York here we come!" Connor exclaimed which earned him a disapproving look from the other people on the airport.

His friends just laugh at him for his antics.

Annabeth was feeling nervous and anxious. She's going to see Percy again and finally this time he will going to see her too.

With a smile on her face, she followed her friends on the way to the plane that will take them to Percy.
