Chapter 55
In the morning Percy woke up when a nurse checks on him.
"Good Morning." The nurse greeted him when she saw him waking up.
Percy managed a weak smile.
"How are you feeling sir?"
Percy scrunched his nose when she called him sir. He never liked the idea of people calling him sir.
"Not good." He admitted. "My head hurts and so is my shoulder."
She nodded and wrote something in her chart. "Please hold still for a while. I'm going to remove the needle from your hand." She gestured to his hand.
Percy nodded. He slightly winced from it.
After she finally detached the IV, she instructed Percy to sit up. That's when Eric approached them to help him sit up.
"I need to change your bandage now." She declared with a hint of blush from her cheeks. It didn't go unnoticed by Eric and Percy.
"Umm is it okay to umm.." She hesitated gesturing to take Percy's clothes off in order for her to change the dressing on his shoulder.
"Yeah of course." He smiled. "What's your name?" He asked in order to make her comfortable.
She blushed more but managed to say her name. "Cindy."
"Well that's a beautiful name." He praised. Eric rolled his eyes on him and went back to sit in the couch and watch TV.
By the time she was finished changing his bandaged on both her head and shoulder, he learned that she's just started working just a couple of months ago to the hospital.
She gave him the medicine for his pain but instructed that he should take it after his meal.
She was leaving when she stops in her tracks. She turned back to Percy who's looking at her amusedly. She opens her mouth but then she closed it again. Both boys are looking at her strangely. She opens her mouth again, "Umm can I.." She started.
Percy raised his eyebrow at her, waiting for what she is going to say.
"I." She shut her mouth again. "Never mind." She finally decided and turned back in her heels.
"Wait." Percy called. "What is it?"
She turned around again. She closed her eyes building up the courage. She wasn't supposed to do this since he was their patient but she can't pass up the opportunity to finally see him in person. Unknown to Percy, she was indeed one of his loyal fans.
"I.. I was wondering if there's a chance that I can get an autograph and a picture perhaps?" She shyly asked.
Eric grinned at Percy. Percy smiled. "Of course, I can give you an autograph but about the picture.."
Eric cut him off. "I'm afraid I won't allow you to take pictures of him." He said standing up.
Percy glared at him for cutting him off. He motioned him to sit back down. He's quite scaring her.
"What Eric was trying to say is that I am not allowed to be photographed while I'm in this mess. My manager won't be too happy if she learns about it. They're just avoiding the fact that the paparazzi will get a hold of my pictures."
"Oh of course I understand clearly. Is an autograph okay then?" She asked a little hopeful.
Percy smiled and nodded.
"Oh crap!" She exclaimed. "All I have is my chart." She pouted a little. "No such luck. I guess I'll just settle with the fact that I saw you up close and that I've been able to talk to you." She smiled sadly.
Percy hated disappointing his fans. He took a glance at Eric. Eric somehow managed to understand the look on Percy's face. He's about to break protocol again. "Percy." He warned.
Percy ignored him. "I'll tell you what, you can come back later before I go home. I can give you an autograph and take a picture when I'm decent enough."
"Really?" She asked giddily.
"Yeah but you have to promise me that you'll keep the pictures to yourself. No sharing it on the social media."
"Percy, I don't think that's a good idea." Eric chimed in.
"I promise!" Cindy swears. "Crossed my heart."
Percy chuckled. "I hold you to your word. If you break it, try to remember that we know where you are working at and that my cousin owns this hospital."
"Of course, I swear I'll keep it to myself. Oh maybe I'll share it with my best friend. Is that okay?"
"As long as it doesn't go over the internet."
She squealed. She holds herself from running to him and giving him a hug. "Thank you! Thank you! You really are the best. They're really are right, you're so sweet in person."
"Eric will come find you when the time comes."
She nodded."I'll just be in the nurse station."
"But of course." Percy chuckled. "I'll see you later then."
"Yes." She said eagerly. She grinned at him before turning her back. She's at the door when she glanced back. "I love you!" She blurted out before walking out quickly.
Eric burst out laughing. "I was expecting that to happen." He managed to choke out in between laughter.
Percy just shook his head. By now he is used to it. "Shut up!"
A minute later there was a knock on the door. Mark came in a little later with a bag on his hand.
"Just put it in the table." Eric ordered.
"Good Morning Sir." Mark greeted before placing the bag. He went out after that.
"What's this?" Percy asked Eric.
"Your breakfast, your highness." He mocked. "I know you hated hospital food. So I take the liberty to order some food for you. Your favorites are in there."
"You're the best!" Percy grinned at him.
"Yeah yeah whatever."
"Where's Shawn by the way? Why is Mark the one in here?"
"I sent him home an hour ago."
"Oh okay."
Percy grabs his phone while Eric prepared his breakfast on the tray. He types a text for Annabeth. He's not sure if she's already awake seeing that it was only 6 in the morning. He can't help but smile while texting her.
"For gods sake, wipe that smile on your face. It's creepy."
Percy just stuck his tongue at him.
Percy begins eating when his phone buzzed. He picks it up immediately. He smiled when he saw that it was from her.
He immediately pressed the call button. 3 rings before she answered her phone.
"Hey beautiful."
He can sense her smiling at the other line. "Good Morning. How are you feeling?"
"I can't believe you're up already." He ignored her question.
"I'm an early riser you know that."
Percy chuckled. "I know. What are you doing then?"
"You haven't answered my question yet."
"Oh, I'm fine baby." He teased. "Well except the fact that my head is throbbing but all in all I'm well enough."
She smiled by his term of endearment but then she frowned upon hearing the last part. "Didn't they give you medicine for that?"
"Yeah they did. I just need to eat breakfast before taking it."
"Then you should probably eat then." She scolded.
"I am." He replied before taking a bite on his pancake.
Annabeth heard him chewing his food. "Finish your food then. We'll talk later."
Percy pouted. "Can't we talk while I'm eating?"
"No, it's disgusting to hear you chewing your food."
"Aww.."
She chuckled. "Besides I'm trying to finish some work."
"Work? Are you kidding me?"
"No Seaweed Brain. I have ton of works to do in replacement of coming to this trip. So if I were you I wouldn't complain." She said teasingly.
"Awww poor baby." He pouted. "But I won't complain anymore, I understand now."
She rolled her eyes. "And besides I'm not just the one doing some work this early if that makes you feel better."
"Who else?"
"Reyna." She smirked. "Silena and Charles too, say hi to him guys." She smirked.
Their friends rolled their eyes on her but say hi to him anyway.
"Did you guys have breakfast already? Is Nico treating you well there?"
"Just some coffee and bread, it's too early for us for heavy breakfast. And yes he is. Listen I need to go now, okay? They're giving me evil looks by talking too much." She chuckled.
"Hey that's not nice. Tell that to them."
"Percy." She pleaded. "We really need to get our work done. I'm sorry okay? I'll talk to you later when I'm done. I promise."
Percy let out a deep sigh. "Okay."
She smiled. "Thank you. Finish your meal now so that you can take your medicine."
"I will. Good luck on your work. I'll see you guys."
"Thank you. I love you."
"I love you too." He said grinning and then he cut the call.
Percy noticed Eric looking at him funny. "What?" He asked.
Eric just shook his head smiling amusedly. He went back to eating his own breakfast.
Then Percy saw the news. He can't hear the news properly because the volume of the TV. It's so low that only Eric can hear it at the other side of the room. He scowled upon seeing that it was about him. It was about the incident that happened last night. There's a video shown of Jason with handcuffed while the police was taking him inside the headquarters. Then there's a video just outside the hospital. It showed how many people waiting for him outside. There are a great number of paparazzi waiting to hear news about him. There are also a couple of his fans. Securities are keeping them on check, making sure that they can't go inside to sneak some pictures of him.
He was really glad that his cousin owned this hospital. If not he won't be too lucky. He just shook his head and went back to eating. He'll deal with the issue when it is time but right now what he need is a dose of his medicine because his head started pounding again.
LINEBREAK
Percy dozed off after taking his medicine. He sure needs some rest. When he woke up he saw Allie, his Road Manager talking to Eric. They didn't notice him yet.
"Hey." He called to get their attention.
Allie snapped her head at his direction. She immediately stands up and went to his side.
"How are you feeling?" She asked concerned.
"I'm fine." He said. "No need to worry."
"I'm sorry I can't come last night to check on you. Nico instructed me to stay behind."
"It's okay." He reassured her. "So how's everything out there?"
"It's terrible. My phone won't stop ringing. They're trying to get an interview with you. Hell like I'm allowing them to do that."
"It's all over the news. " Eric announced.
"Yeah, since last night." Allie added. She shook her head. "There are even speculations that you're not going to be happy when you hear it."
"I don't want to know."
"I know." She let out a deep sigh. "You got the worst luck ever."
Percy chuckled. "Hey don't be like that."
"Like seriously, you just finish your biggest concert and just like that you are in the hospital because some lunatic attempted to kill you that same day."
They fell silent after that. Allie grabs his hand. "I'm sorry I have to rant about that. I am just so worried about you."
"It's okay."
Just then there's a knock at the door. Mark peek his head inside. "There's someone who wants to see you sir. Should I let her come in?"
The three looked at each other. No idea who's his visitor. Eric stands up and went to Percy's side.
"Who?" Allie asked.
"It's Miss Calypso ma'am." Mark answered.
Eric and Allie looked at Percy.
Percy's POV
I was surprised to know that Calypso came to visit me at this early hour. I looked at Allie.
"Hey it's up to you." She said.
"If you don't want to talk to her we can tell her to leave." Eric offered.
"That will be rude." I answered. "Let her in."
"Are you sure?" Allie asked. I just nodded.
Eric gave Mark an okay sign. Mark fully opens the door and there she is.
"Hi." She greeted.
Allie just gave her a nod. I can tell that she's not fond of her too but she's just being polite. "We'll let you guys talk." She said.
Eric and Allie went out of the room.
I smiled at her.
For a while she just kept standing a few feet away from my bed. I noticed her eyes. I can tell she's been crying.
"Hey." I called. "Come here."
When she heard that she crossed the distance and hugged me while crying. Her hug was light. Maybe she was afraid to hurt me.
"Hey it's okay." I stroke her hair.
"I'm sorry." She said in between sobs.
"Shh it's not your fault." I reassured her. I stroke her back gently.
When she was calm enough she pulled away.
I smiled at her. I took the liberty of brushing away the tears from her eyes. I took this time to study her. She's still beautiful just like the first time I've met her. She has matured a little but it just makes her more beautiful.
She holds my hand and I didn't object. I'll be lying if I say that she meant nothing to me anymore. We have been through a lot too. She's my first real relationship, although it didn't work out but still I did love her.
"I didn't know that he will do this to you." She started. "I clearly told him that my decision has nothing to do with you."
"Why didn't you tell me? Why didn't you tell me that you guys broke up? When?"
"A month ago, I.. I didn't think it will matter to you after what happened between us." She admitted.
"Oh.." I said stupidly. Of course that will be awkward.
"He started to act differently two months after you came back. I thought he was just stressed out. But then I learned that some of his commitments were being cancelled. His career is his first priority that's why I did understand when he started to become different."
"What do you mean by different?"
"He's always irritated. He snapped to little things. He's unfocused. Even his manager is complaining. Then he started hating you more and more."
I scrunched my eyebrows. "Why?"
"We both know why."
I keep quiet. Okay I did hate him too back then but that was all in the past.
Calypso took the moment to continue her story. "It became worst when we got the chance to work together again. It was one of our biggest fights." She winced when she said that.
My eyes widen. "Did he hit you?" I asked angrily.
She looked away. "He's been drinking that day." She said it like that will cover the fact the he hit her.
"It's not an excused." I said pointedly. I clenched my teeth. "Did that happen only once?"
She kept silent.
"Oh for gods sake. You let him hit you?! Why didn't you say anything? That bastard!"
"Because I'm trying to fix him, I'm trying to help him. But then he started doing drugs. That's when I had enough and broke up with him."
"That explains it." I said when I remembered the look in his eyes.
"When I broke up with him, he accused me of cheating on him with you. Stupid right? Because.." She trailed off.
I get what she was trying to say. "I know."
"That's the second time he did hurt me. After then I never let him see me again. He was banned from seeing me."
"Did Nico know about this?"
She shook her head. "We kept it. Only my manager knows and some of my friends."
I squeezed her hand. "I'm sorry I didn't know. I wish I could have done something."
"No it could have gotten worst when you've been involve, just like now."
I let out a deep sigh. "Don't worry about me. I'm fine."
She reached out her hand to touch my head. I can see longing in her eyes. I'm not sure if I'm seeing it right. I just keep my gaze on her. At some point I was wondering why I wasn't uncomfortable with the way she's so near me but then I once loved her maybe that's why.
She caressed my cheek like the way she used to. "I'm so sorry." She locked eyes on me. "I'm so sorry about everything."
I smiled weakly at her. "It's okay, I already forgave you. Let's just forget about everything. I hope you did already forgive me too?"
She nodded. A tear rolled down her eyes. I reach to wipe it for her.
"What's going to happen to him?" She asked.
"I still have no idea. But it won't be good. My whole family is so angry at him."
"I wish it didn't end to this. I was so angry at myself for getting you hurt for the second time."
"It wasn't your fault."
"Percy."
"Yeah?"
"I.."
That's when the door opens to reveal my Dad, Nico, Allie and Mr. Smith, our family's attorney.
My Dad narrowed his eyes when he saw how close she is to me, same goes with Nico and Allie.
"I didn't know you have a visitor." Dad said.
Calypso abruptly stands to greet them. "Hello sir."
Dad just curtly nodded at her. He knows about her and I can tell he's not happy to see her.
Calypso may have sensed that she wasn't welcome anymore so she said goodbye.
"Take care. Get well soon." She said to me. She squeezed my hand and gave me a kiss on the cheek before saying goodbye to them and leaves.
"What does she want? And what's she doing here?" Dad demanded.
"She just wants to check on me." I defended.
Nico just eyed me silently asking what's going on. I just ignored him.
"Am I allowed to go home now?" I asked to ease the tension on the room.
"Not yet." Dad answered. "We'll wait for Apollo. Right now we have to talk about Jason."
He sits next beside the bed. Allie, Nico and Atty. Smith went to sit on the couch.
"So, what about him?" I asked.
"We just came from the police station." Dad started. "We've already filed the case against him."
"Oh."
"We will wait for the date for your first hearing. Right now we need you to stay away from the media as much as possible." Atty. Smith said.
"I can do that." I answered.
"There are things we need to discuss." He said. "But it can wait."
I nodded my head. "Okay."
"There's something else." He trailed off.
I looked at him. He looked at Nico and then at Dad. There's a silent message passing between the three of them.
"What is it?" I voiced out.
"Jason wants to talk to you." Atty. Smith said.
"Why? What for?"
Dad shook his head. "We don't know but I'm not allowing you to talk to him." He said pointedly.
I thought about it. Dad saw the look in my face. "Don't even think about it." He warned.
"I was just wondering what he wants to talk about."
"He'll probably try to convince you to drop the case." Nico chimed in.
"And I won't allow that." Dad said angrily. "He won't get away from it. I'll make sure he'll rot in cell."
"Dad."
"That's final Percy! I don't want you talking to him. For gods sake, the guy tried to kill you."
"He's under the influence of drugs." I stated.
"That's why he should be jailed."
I didn't argue anymore. There's no way I'm going to changed Dad's mind. Although I was considering the idea of talking to him, just to hear what he was about to say. I know it was stupid but I don't know.
Allie, Nico and Atty. Smith talked things regarding about what to do and what's not in this situation. I settled on texting Annabeth, she's probably done by now. Dad was on the phone too. He joined the group later.
I was kind of dozing off when I haven't got a reply from Annabeth. Just then Apollo came in to check on me. It was already near lunch time.
"Good morning." He greeted. "How are you buddy?"
"Fine." I said dazedly.
"Sleepy eh?" He teased.
"Yeah that's because I'm so bored. Can I go home now?"
Apollo chuckled. He checked the chart that he was holding. "Yup you're free to go."
"Finally!" I exclaimed. I can't wait to see Annabeth again.
"Someone's a little excited." Nico teased. I glared at him.
"Is there something I need to know?" Allie asked.
"Nothing." I answered immediately.
Nico chuckled. "She has the right to know, you know."
"What is it?" Allie demanded.
I rolled my eyes on them. I ignored Allie's question. "So how long do I have to wear thing?" I asked Apollo pointing to the sling on my left arm.
"As long as you want to." He joked. "Kidding." He said when I glared at him.
"You can dispose it when you're sure that it's safe to move your shoulder. I say two more days."
"Okay."
"And make sure to change your bandage regularly." He said pointing to my head and my shoulder. "And here's your prescription." He handed it to Dad.
"Make sure that he religiously takes his meds." Apollo said to Dad.
I snorted.
"I'll make sure of that. He'll have to answer to his mom if he didn't." Dad said smirking.
I rolled my eyes.
They talked more but I ignored them when I received a reply from Annabeth. I was so busy texting her when Apollo snapped his fingers in front of me.
"Are you even listening?" He asked me.
"What?"
"Oh great, I just wasted my time talking."
"Can't you see he is busy?" Nico teased. "He's probably texting his girl."
"Girl?" Allie asked. "As in girlfriend? Whoah Perseus why am I not aware about this?"
"Nico!" I exclaimed. "Can you please not say my whole name?" I whined.
"What's wrong with it?" Dad asked.
I just shook my head. Not wanting to explain further. He's the one who named me after that Greek Hero. Nico and Apollo chuckled.
"Like you didn't care that you're named after some Greek Hero too." I spat at Apollo. To my dismay he just shrugged his shoulder.
"It suits me." He replied. "I'm hot just like him." He joked. "Besides even Artemis doesn't complain about her name, wait I'm not so sure about that." He chuckled.
I just shook my head.
"Hey by the way, she said to get well soon. She wants to visit but apparently she's in San Francisco right now."
"What she doing there?" I asked.
He shrugged. "No idea."
"When will she be back?" Dad asked.
"Tomorrow I think. Why?"
"Because we'll be having dinner, all of us should be present." Dad said pointedly.
"What for?" I asked.
"You'll see." He said smiling.
I caught Nico smiling too. Well now I'm confused. There's something they're not telling me.
"Okay just let us know Uncle P." Apollo said. "Dad is not so busy anyway. I don't know about Uncle Hades." He said turning to Nico.
"Oh don't worry about them. I'll make sure they will come, even Bianca and Hazel. Dad will probably bring his new wife for you to meet."
"You mean the lady whom he was seen photographed with?" Dad asked. "Her name was Persephone right?"
Nico and I caught each other's eyes and we burst out laughing remembering the awkward moment when I first meet her.
They looked at us confusedly. We just shrugged them off.
"So they were married now? How come we didn't even know?" Dad asked.
"Pfft you know Dad. We didn't even know too. We just found out after they got married at some beach in Hawaii." Nico explained.
"Typical Hades." Dad stated. "So I was wondering how long it will last this time."
"That's my question too." Nico chuckled.
"Give him some credit. I saw how he looked at her. He seems in love." I butted in.
"Yeah right. They say that he used to look at our moms just like that but see what happened."
I didn't argue anymore.
Apollo stayed for a couple of minutes then he said goodbye to check on his other patients. After an hour of completing some documents I was finally discharged.
Of course I didn't forget my promise to Cindy. She was so happy. Well except for the fact that Allie seemed to scare her about the picture.

Still on Percy's POV
I dozed off during the ride home. Dad has to wake me up. "We're home."
I rub the sleep from my eyes. I lazily got out from the car. I was greeted by Mom and Kelsi.
"Hi son." Mom kissed my cheek. "How are you feeling?" She asked.
"Fine." I smiled at her. Kelsi was hugging my waist. I kissed her forehead.
"Welcome home." She smiled at me.
"Thanks kiddo." I teased. She pinched my side.
"Come on." She said dragging me inside the house.
"Whoah slow down." I said chuckling. I was still a little disoriented.
"Kelsi." Mom scolded.
"Sorry, come on." He tugged on my free hand.
"Where are we going anyways? Can I just go to my room first? Can't it wait?" I asked lazily.
"No!"
"Keep it down will you?"
"Sorry." She smirked. "Come on you lazy butt."
I let her drag me away at the back of our house. I saw from the corner of my eyes that Dad, Mom and Nico were right behind us.
I have to blink my eyes a couple of times to get used to the blinding light of the sun. When my eyes finally focused I see my friends in the pool area.
"Surprised!" They greeted.
I smiled widely upon seeing them. Annabeth was the first one to approach me. She's wearing a simple shirt and short but she still look so beautiful to me.
"Hi." She greeted and pecks me on the lips.
"Hi." I greeted back staring at her beautiful face. She caressed mycheek.
She stepped aside when Mom (Hestia) came to gave me a hug and a kiss on the cheek. The others followed suit greeting me.
Annabeth intertwined her hands on me while she drags me away to sit on one of the tables around the pool side.
"Are we having some kind of a party?" I asked smiling.
"No. We're just having one of your regular lunches." She said sarcastically. I chuckled at that.
"How are you feeling?" She asked when we are finally seated.
"A little bit dizzy." I admitted.
"How about your head? Does it still hurt?" She asked while she runs her fingers on my hair.
Her gesture felt so good that I have to close my eyes. I felt like I can doze off any time.
"Not anymore." I answered opening my eyes and looking at her. "Just by simply seeing you, all my pain was gone."
"Eww!" Kelsi groaned who is sitting beside me. "Do you really have to be so cheesy?"
Annabeth chuckled but kissed my cheek. I ruffled Kelsi's hair. She swatted away my hand. I saw her bandaged hand. I forgot to ask her about that last night.
"What happened to your hand?" I asked concerned. I leaned towards her to take a good look at it.
She pulled it away.
Nico answered it for her. "Well your sister happened to kick Jason's butt. She punched him in the face that's why she sprained her hand."
Kelsi stuck her tongue at him.
"You did what?!" I exclaimed. "You know that's dangerous for you." I scolded. "How come I never saw it?"
"Because you were half conscious when that happened, he was already strained by the cops when she did it so don't worry too much." Nico explained.
"But still.."
Kelsi gestured me to shut up. "No more buts." She demanded. "I already heard enough from Mom." She whined.
I chuckled. Then I remembered something. I turned to Annabeth.
"I haven't properly introduced you to my family yet."
She just smiled at me.
"Hey Kels."
"What?" She asked turning slightly away from her phone to look at me.
"I want you to meet Annabeth, my girlfriend."
Kelsi rolled her eyes. "Yeah doofus I already know. You're too late."
"Hey not my fault."
"Whatever." She huffed but then she smiled at Annabeth. She reached for her hand. "It's nice to know that finally my brother found a decent girl. Not someone I know." She whispered the last part but I heard it.
"Hey!"
She just rolled her eyes on me. "Welcome to the family." She said to Annabeth and this time she stands up to give her a hug. "Please bear with my idiot brother but deep inside he's a sweet man."
"Really?" I exasperated.
She chuckled and then went to sit beside Leo. Gods, I hope Leo won't teach her more pranks. I'm so done with it.
"She's just like you." Annabeth commented.
"Nope." I countered. "I'm way better and well behaved than her."
"Really?"
"Yes! Really!"
"Whatever you say."
Nico and Thalia were just looking at us amusedly. When I glared at them, they went back to talking God knows what.
"Come on." I tug on Annabeth's hand while I slowly stand up.
"Where?" She asked.
I gestured to where my parents are. They were seated a few tables from us. They were deep in conversation.
"Right now?" She asked.
I nodded smiling at her. She let me pull her towards my parents. My friends saw us and they gave me a thumb up sign knowing what I am going to do next. Charles even winked at me. Travis and Connor whistled which earned them a glare from my beautiful girlfriend.
They looked at us when we finally reached their table.
"Hi." I smiled at them. Beside me, Annabeth was a little uncomfortable. I squeezed her hand.
"Mom, Dad and Mom." I chuckled. "I want you to meet my girlfriend, Annabeth Chase. "
"We already met her Percy." Dad teased.
"Yeah but I wasn't able to properly introduced you to her." I pouted.
Mom chuckled and gave Annabeth a hug. "Welcome to the family."
Annabeth blushes a deep shade of red. Dad followed suit giving her a hug too.
Then he turned to me. "Oh by the way, you should call Hestia your Aunt."
"What?" I asked confused. They were all smiling at me. Something tells me that they know something.
Annabeth squeezed my hand and kissed my cheek. "I'll leave you guys to talk." She said. She smiled at me before going back to my friends.
"What?" I asked again confused.
"Sit down son. We have something to tell you." Dad said. Then he called Kelsi to join us.
"What's up?" She asked. Dad motions her to sit down.
So I sit on the chair in between Mom (Hestia) and Dad. Kelsi sits beside Mom.
"What is it? Why are you telling me that I have to call her aunt?"
"Call who?" Kelsi interrupted.
They looked at each other.
I turned to Mom(Hestia). "You don't want me to call you mom anymore?" I asked feeling a little hurt.
"No! No!" She said immediately. "We need to tell you something." She explained. "It will probably shock you but I want you to listen carefully. Can you do that?" She asked while squeezing my hand."
I nodded. Dad and Mom (Hestia) took turns in telling me the story. Kelsi and I just kept quiet the whole time, slowly processing all the information that they're giving us.
When they were finished, I just looked at them. "Really?" That was all that I managed to say.
Dad chuckled. "Yes son. " Then he turned to Kelsi. "Kelsi say hello to your Aunt Hestia."
Kelsi also shared the shocked looked on my face. She turned to look at me.
"What? Really?" She asked slowly taking in the news just like me.
I run my hand through my hair. "Oh my God, I can't believe it. That's why you've been so good to me."
"It's not just about that." Aunt Hestia said. Wow it's really weird calling her that even in my mind. "You've been really sweet. You're a good person that's why I learned to love you as my son."
Tears started streaming on my face. I felt like an idiot. I hug her and she hugs me back. "I can't believe it." I mumbled.
She pulled away. "Does Charles know?" I asked.
"Yes."
"Actually even your friends already know." Dad said.
"What?" I asked surprised. "They've known it before me?"
Dad told me the story when they first met them all. I groaned after hearing it. I turned to look at my friends and I caught them looking at us. I assumed they know that we've been talking about them. They avoided my gaze.
I snorted. "You guys are good at keeping things from me huh?"
They chuckled.
"Well I was glad to know that. Wow I can't believe that Charles is really my real cousin and you're really my Aunt."
"Step-.."
But I cut her off. "It doesn't matter. Bu can I have a request?" I asked.
"What is it?"
"Can I continue calling you Mom? If it is okay with you?"
Mom (Hestia) looked at Mom (Sally) for permission. She just smiled at her.
"Sure no problem at that." I grinned widely at them. I stand up to kiss them both on the cheek.
"I'm so lucky." I proclaimed.
"Kelsi?" I called when I noticed her not talking. "You okay there princess?"
She didn't even react when I called her princess. I snap my fingers in front of her face. That's when she glared at me.
She turned to Mom(Hestia) and grinned widely at her. She squealed a little and gave her a bone crushing hug. "This is so cool!"
I rolled my eyes at her. "Cool." I snorted. "You've got to be kidding me."
She glared at me. "What?"
"What?" I mimicked her.
"Hey you guys don't start it." Mom warned.
I chuckled and look back at my friends.
Dad snorted. "You can go back to your friends now. I know you're dying to be beside your girl."
I blushed at that.
"She's a fine young woman, Perseus. I approved of her."
I cringed at the sound of my real name. "Thanks." I mumbled.
"What's with you when someone called you with your real name?" Dad asked exasperated.
"Nothing." I asked defensively. Both my Mom laugh at this. Kelsi was smirking at me.
I glared at them.
Dad turn towards my mom, "You know something about this?"
My eyes went wide when Mom started to say, "Well your son.."
"I'm going now!" I bolted away from them. I heard Kelsi calling me coward but I didn't stop to scold her.
I don't want to know what my Dad's reaction when he learned that I hate my name.
I went back to sit beside my girl.
"What's wrong with you?" She asked when I was panting a little.
"Nothing."
She narrowed her eyes on me. I kissed her cheek instead.
"Can you hand me the glass of water, please?"
She handed it to me. She watched me closely until I finished gulping the entire glass.
"So?" She was urging me to say what happened.
"I can't believe you've known it before me." I accused her playfully.
"About what?" She scrunched her eyebrows. I noticed the others looking at me.
"That.." I trailed off pointing at Charles. "He's my real cousin all this time."
They chuckled. "Hey we just learned that a couple of days ago." Leo defended.
"And you.." I pointed to Charles. "You didn't even bother telling me the truth."
He put his arms up in surrender. "Hey I was just simply following orders." He defended.
"How about you?" I asked Nico. "Same like him." He smirked.
"Yeah yeah whatever." I snorted. "Hey Charles!"
"What?"
"Welcome to the family of crazies." I grinned at him.
"Hey!" Nico protested. "That's just you. No need to drag us with you."
"As if." I scoffed.
I turned my attention back to Annabeth.
She raised her eyebrow at me in question.
"Nothing." I grinned at her. "I was just so happy."
She rolled her eyes.
"Hey!" I called again.
She turned to look back at me from eating her food.
"I love you." I mouthed at her. She laughs at me.
I reached to touch her face. I was leaning to kiss her when all of a sudden Kelsi taps my shoulder.
I turned to look at her. She was downright serious. She crossed her arms above her chest.
"What's up?"
"You tell me." She said pointedly.
I raised my eyebrow at her. "What are you talking about?"
For a second she looks at her phone. When she found it, she shoved it so near in my face.
I pushed in away. "What the.."
"Please explain this to me." She demanded.
I looked closely at her phone. It was an article about me. What surprises me is the picture that was attached to it. It was a picture of Calypso leaving the hospital. I read the article as quickly as possible and it wasn't good at all. There were speculations again.
"Listen.." I tried to explain. I looked back at Annabeth and she was confused to what was going on. It's not that I don't want her to know. We haven't talked about Calypso yet and I wasn't sure how she will going to take it.
"Let's talk…"
She cut me off. "What was Calypso doing in the hospital this morning? Did you guys talk? What does that bitch want to you anyway?"
Way to ruin the moment Kesli. I groaned inwardly.
"Kels." I warned.
"Calypso visited you?" Annabeth asked incredulously from beside me.
Her eyebrows are scrunched together. I can tell that she wasn't happy to hear that.
"Perseus Jackson." She growled. "What does that girl want to you now?"
