Chapter 61
Annabeth woke up early the next morning. She is blessed by the sight of her gorgeous boyfriend lying on his side facing her. He is still sound asleep. His face is so calm which makes him even more handsome. She can't help but be mesmerize and gently run her fingers in his face.
He stirred lightly on his sleep by her soft touch. His eyes are still closed. No trace of him of being awake. She stares at his face remembering last night. After her bold actions last night at the club, Percy didn't leave her side. They were inseparable. Meaning more PDA much to their friends distaste.
She no longer cares if the whole world will know her identity. What matters to her is that they know that she holds Percy's heart. It didn't go unnoticed by her that some or rather most of the people at the club last night were giving them curious looks. They were probably wondering who she is and why Percy was so into her. Bianca even whispered to her that some ladies were asking who she is. And thankfully they kept her identity by simply dismissing the question and by just smiling at them making the jealous ladies furious at them.
She even caught Calypso looking at them a couple of times last night. Normally she will be jealous about it but after what she heard him say to her, it doesn't matter to her now, at least for this time being.
She find herself looking at his face again remembering what happened between them last night when they finally made it home. She can't help but blushed thinking what happened after they got home. Things got even hotter once they were finally inside. And as embarrassing as it sounds for her she can't change the fact that they didn't make it to his room. She will never look at the couch the same ever again. Good thing that they were all alone at his house.
"You know it's impolite to stare." Percy said to her without opening his eyes.
She was startled for a second but smiled after.
"Who says I'm staring at you?" She banters playfully.
He put his arm around her waist to pull her closer. "Even if my eyes are still close, I can still feel it." He opens his one eye and smirked at her.
She just smiles sweetly at him, "Good Morning" and pecks his lips.
He fully opens his eyes, "Good Morning to you too baby."
She snuggled closer to him feeling his warm bare chest.
"Sleep okay?" He asked.
She didn't reply but instead put her arms around him hugging him tighter.
"I'll take that as a yes then." He kisses the top of her head before glancing at the clock at his bedside table.
"How long have you been watching me?" He asks teasingly.
She pulls away slightly to look at him. "I wasn't watching you."
Percy just chuckled. "Fine then, I won't argue anymore. So what time did you wake up then?"
"I don't know. I didn't check the time. What time is it anyway?"
"It's 8 o'clock."
She detached herself from him. "What time will Sally, Hestia and Kelsi come over?"
"Before lunch I guess. I told them to call me first if they're on their way."
"Okay."
Percy lies on his back before moving to sit up. "Hungry?"
She puts her head on his lap. He gently strokes her hair.
"Actually I am."
Percy laughs softly. "I bet so. After last night…"
Annabeth hits his chest. "Don't finish your sentence." She glared.
"What?" He asks teasingly. "I was just about to say.." She cuts him off with a glare again.
He surrenders raising his two hands in defeat. "Okay okay."
"Good."
"Good." Percy mimicked her which earned him a pinch on his side that tickles him.
"Hey!"
She smiles smugly at him. "Are you going to cook our breakfast?"
"No." He laughs. "Maria is probably downstairs already. I'll go check what she cooks for us."
He's about to ask her to move her head so that he can hop out of the bed when she stops him.
Her eyes were wide. "You mean Maria is already downstairs?"
"Yes, I requested her to come today for the whole day for the dinner tonight. She always comes at 7 am. I assume she's already here."
She suddenly sits up and grips his bicep. "Oh my gods Percy, we left our clothes downstairs." She was blushing hard right at the moment picturing in her mind their scattered clothes on the living room. Add the fact that her bra is missing since she's only wearing Percy's shirt and her underwear.
Percy blushes too realizing what she just said. It didn't occur in his mind last night that Maria is coming early today. Well he didn't expect that they'll do it in the couch anyway.
"You should have told me." She said pointedly, still blushing at the thought.
"I'm sorry. It slipped my mind. And how do you expect me to think properly last night when we were all over each other."
She sighs heavily then buries her face on her hands. "It's embarrassing. How will I face her right now?"
He chuckles and hugs her closer to him kissing her forehead. "Don't worry about it. She'll get over it. And I'm pretty sure she's not going to tell anyone."
"How are you so sure?"
He just shrugged.
"Oh my gods, don't tell me it happens before?"
"Hey hey where did that come from?" He asks laughing.
"Sorry, it's just.." She groaned.
"Hey don't worry too much. Awkward things happen so just don't make a big deal about it."
"It's easy for you to say since you're a guy." She snorted.
"What's that supposed to mean?" He raises an eyebrow at her.
"Nothing." She said sarcastically. "Now get your butt downstairs and see if Maria had cooked something for us because I'm really hungry now."
Percy just rolled his eyes on her. He pecks her lips. "I'm going to get a shower first. You can go back to sleep for a while since I figured you've been awake for a couple of hours now by watching me sleep." He winks at her before trotting away.
She aimed a pillow at him while he is heading towards the bathroom. He caught it and threw it back to her while laughing.
She settles back to lying on the bed. She pulls the cover over her body. After a few seconds she drifted back to sleep.
When Percy emerged from the bathroom he saw her sleeping peacefully. He kissed her forehead softly before heading downstairs.
When Percy passes the living room, he pauses to check if their clothes are still there but unfortunately he can't find it anywhere.
"Good Morning Maria." Percy greeted when he saw her at the kitchen.
"Morning Percy." She smiled at him. "Sleep well last night?" She asked teasingly.
Percy blushes a deep shade of red. Maria has been working for him for a long time now so they are a bit close. So it's no wonder why she teases him. It is the first time that it happens so she didn't let it pass by just like that.
Percy cleared his throat. "What's for breakfast?" He dismissed the question and tries to change the subject.
"Pancakes and bacon, will it do?"
Percy nods his head and head towards the fridge.
"How about her does she like anything in particular?" Maria asks casually.
He almost spit the juice that he is currently drinking.
Maria chuckles. "What's so shocking about that? I assume she's still here basing from what I saw on.."
"Maria." He groaned. "She'll like the pancakes and bacon."
Maria laughs at him. "So finally I can meet her huh? Annabeth, that's her name right?"
Percy scrunched his eyebrows. "How did you know her name?"
She rolled her eyes. "Duh I have ears you know."
He chuckles. "Yup you're going to finally meet her and I'll bet you'll like her."
"No doubt about it." She smiles at him. "Just a couple of minutes more and you're breakfast will be ready. Would you like me to bring it upstairs? Breakfast in bed perhaps?" She teases more.
He laughs and shakes his head. "Thank you for the suggestion but we'll have it on the garden instead. She got work to do so breakfast in bed is not such a good idea for now." He smirked.
Maria snorted. "Work? What does she do?"
"She's an architect." He beamed.
"Wow, good catch there then."
"Yeah, we'll be downstairs for a couple of minutes." He stated as he retreats from his seat on the kitchen island. "I'll go check on her."
Maria just smiles at him.
LINEBREAK
Annabeth is still sleeping when he enters the room. He made his way to her and sits at the edge of the bed. He gently shook her but she just snuggled on her pillow more.
"Baby." He softly called. "Wake up."
"Five more minutes." She grunted.
Percy just smiled. "Wake up." This time he bends down to kiss her softly on the lips. He was caught off guard when suddenly she pulls him closer to her bringing his lips back to her.
She chuckled when she finally release her grip on him. "Got you." She smirked.
"I'm not going to complain." He smiled at her. "Now come on breakfast will be ready on a couple of minutes."
"Okay." She stretches. "Will you help me get up?" She asks sweetly.
He offered his two hands on her but instead of getting up she pulls him to the bed.
Their foreheads bump into each other. They both groaned in unison. "I'm sorry." She chuckles as she rubs her hand on his forehead.
He pouted on her but she just kisses his lips once more before pushing him away and finally getting up.
"You're mean you know that?" He said playfully.
She just stuck her tongue at him. "I'm going to take a shower."
"Can I join you?" He asks as he wiggles his eyebrows at her.
She snorted. "You should have thought that earlier." She smiled sweetly at him before finally closing the door.
He just shook his head. He got up from the bed and checks his phone. There are several messages for him. One message caught his attention though. It was from Charles. He was asking if they can talk later. He said he needed a favor. He replied back that surely he can tell him later.
He switched on the TV while waiting for Annabeth. He searched for something interesting when he finally landed on some E news, when he saw that he was the topic he immediately change the channel. He rolled his eyes. He's not in the mood right now for that.
Percy didn't even realize that he falls asleep while watching. Annabeth gently shook his shoulders.
"Hey sleepyhead, wake up."
He slowly opens his eyes. "Sorry I didn't mean to fall asleep."
"Come on let's go eat. I have tons of work to do." She said as she reads emails from her phone. Gone is the playful Annabeth. She's back on her work mode.
"Ugh." Percy groaned.
"Something wrong?" She looks at him over her shoulder.
"It's just that you have this serious look on your face right now, and I don't like it." He pouted.
"Perce.."
"I know. I know." He shrugged her off. He embraces her from the back. "It's just that it only means more work and less time for me."
"Awww don't think like that." She turns around so that she's facing him. "How about I'll just finish this one project? It will only take me a couple of hours maybe 2 or three. Is that good enough?"
"Promise?"
"Yes Seaweed Brain." She pecked his lips and hugged him to show him that's she's serious.
"Okay then." He holds her hand. "Come on let's go eat so that you can start your work and finish early."
"Now you're talking." She teases him.
By the time they arrived at the garden, Maria is already there preparing their breakfast.
She looks at them when she heard the sliding door opens. She smiled at them. "Breakfast is ready." She announces.
When they were close enough, "Maria I want you to meet Annabeth, my girlfriend"
"Hi Maria." Annabeth greeted.
"Hello, it's so nice to finally meet you." She smiled sweetly at her. "I can see why this young man is so in love with you. You're beautiful."
Both of them blushed at what Maria had said.
"Thank you."
"You look good together." She finally said. She winks at Percy before excusing herself to go inside the house.
"That went smoothly." Annabeth chuckled. Percy pulls the chair for her just like a real gentleman. She said her thanks before sitting down.
"I told you so. You two will get along just fine." He said sitting down next to her.
After they finished eating their breakfast, Percy showed her the study room where she was shocked to see that at half of the room was meant for her.
When she looks at him questioningly, he just smiled at her.
"So I'll hold onto your promise." He reminds her.
"Yes Seaweed Brain." She chuckled.
He kisses her forehead. "I'll leave you then so that you can concentrate. I'll just go check Maria for the dinner tonight."
"Okay." She pecks his lips before turning around to start her work. Percy took one glance at her before finally getting out in the room but not before smiling to himself.
Two hours later, Percy is currently on his music room listening to different kind of songs with his headphones on. He didn't notice when the door opens. He was startled when someone wraps his around him from the back. He didn't need to turn around to know who it is. He turns off the player before taking off the headphones.
"What are you listening to?"
He turns around so that he can see her properly. Annabeth pulled away so that he can turn around.
"Just some random songs." He pulls her back for a hug and rests his chin at the top of her head. "What are you doing here? Are you already done with your work?"
"Not yet." She looks up at him. "I miss you already so I came here." She smiles teasingly.
Percy grins widely. "Aww I miss you too." He pecks her lips for good measure. When he is about to deepen the kiss Annabeth pulls away.
She laughs. "Easy now there tiger."
"Aww come on. I thought you said you miss me?"
"Yes but the real reason is I'm thirsty that's why I went downstairs. I asks Maria where you are and she said that you are here so I went here to check on you."
Percy snorted. He went to sit in front of the piano. He patted the space next to him. Annabeth obliged and sit next to him. She rests her head on his shoulder.
"Tired?" He asks.
"A little bit. The design is a little complicated that I thought."
He kisses the top of her head. "Need more time?"
"Nope I think I'll be able to finish it."
"Okay."
They both keep quiet for a couple of minutes just enjoying each other's presence.
"Play a song for me?"
"What song?"
"The one you wrote for me. The one you sang at the end of your concert."
Percy smiles. "Sure."
He plays "Mirror" on the piano. Annabeth closes her eyes during the song.
When the song ended, she shifted in her seat to put her arms around him. She's hugging him from his side. "It really is beautiful. Thank you."
He put his arms around her too. "You're welcome, I'm glad you like it."
She pulls away slightly to face him, he did too. "Like it? I love it." She smiles and cups his face. She kisses him chastely.
When she pulls away, she hugs him tight after.
"Gods I wish I can freeze this moment." He mumbled. She hugs him tighter. "Me too."
After a couple of minutes she pulls away for good. "I should get back to my work." She smiles sadly.
He nodded his head. "Okay." He pecks her lips before she get up to leave the room. He watches her until she is at the door.
"Write more songs for me." She said pausing at the door.
He smiles at her. "I will." Then she was out of the room.
He smiles feeling more inspired to write songs for her.
LINEBREAK
Hestia and Sally are currently at the kitchen helping out Maria and the two other maids. It has been half an hour ago since they've arrived. Kelsi and Percy are currently on his music room. Kelsi is more into music now since Percy's concert. Their parents are even open to the idea that Kelsi might follow his brother's footstep. But right now she's not interested but not totally against the idea.
"What time will Charles and the others arrive?" Hestia asks.
"Not quite sure but Percy told me that they'll have their lunch here." Sally answered.
They were checking and supervising the menu that will be served during lunch and for dinner later.
"This is really nice you know." Sally started.
Hestia looks confused. "What is?"
"This having dinner together. It rarely happens. For the past years, we only got together maybe 3 or four times in a year. Sometimes we're not even complete."
"Oh."
"Yeah and look at it now. 2 days in a week. It's a nice change. Glad that you're back, I think it will make us closer. Those three rarely see each other before. There are even times that I thought they hate each other."
Hestia chuckles. "Poseidon told me about that. He said that they blamed each other for what happened and that drew them apart. I hope this time we'll be able to bring back the closeness we have before."
"Can I ask you a question, if you don't mind?" Sally asks.
"Sure, what is it?"
"Do you and Charles consider on moving here in New York?"
Hestia smiled. "I was actually waiting for that question for a while now. I was expecting that Poseidon will ask me that question."
Sally snorted. "He did actually mention it to me. I guess he's just afraid to ask."
"Or maybe afraid of my answer." Hestia suggested.
"Maybe." The two laughs. Then they both fell silent after.
"I've been actually thinking about it. But I have to talk to Charles about it. We have a lot of things to consider first."
Sally nodded.
Just then Annabeth enters the kitchen.
"Annabeth!" Sally beams when she saw her.
"Hey." She smiles. She went to kiss Sally and Hestia on the cheek. "I didn't know you guys are already here."
"Well Percy doesn't want us to disturb you. He says that you're busy with your work." Sally said.
"Oh." She chuckles.
"Still doing work on your vacation." Hestia muses.
"Yeah, I don't have a choice really. I'm not the only one though. I bet Reyna, Thalia and Charles too."
"Actually Charles is complaining to me the other day." Hestia chuckled.
Annabeth smiled. "It sucks but we don't have a choice. Where are Percy and Kelsi by the way?"
As if on cue Kelsi comes in running and squealing. "Mom!" She yells and went to hide on Sally's back.
Percy comes in running seconds later with a furious look on his face. He halted when he saw Annabeth.
"What happened to you?" She asks amused seeing the look on her boyfriend's face. Then she noticed the red mark on his forehead. She went to his side checking his forehead.
"What happened?" She asks again.
Percy breaks his gaze to her and looks at where Kelsi is. "Someone thought that it was funny to hit me in the face with the drumstick." He grumbled.
"Kelsi!" Sally scolded turning to her daughter.
"Not my fault!" She defended. "He started it!"
"Woah! I started it?!" Percy cut her off.
"Hey." Annabeth softly called distracting him. "Relax will you? I'll go grab an ice pack." She said and kissed his cheek.
Percy went to the Kitchen Island and slump on the chair. He was still glaring at Kelsi, who now sits on the opposite side smirking at him.
"You two never learns." Sally scolded the two. She went to check on Percy. "Now tell me what really happened?"
Annabeth sits beside Percy and holds the ice pack on his forehead. Percy smiles at her before turning back to his mom. He was about to tell what happened when Kelsi beats him to it.
"He was laughing at me when I was playing the drums. He said that I suck big time. So I aim him with the stick. I didn't mean it though. But on the other hand he deserves it." She stuck her tongue at him.
"You little…" Percy started.
"Perseus." Hestia cuts him off. "Language."
Percy just rolled his eyes.
"Hey, no rolling of eyes on me." Hestia chastised.
Percy groans and buries his face on the table. Annabeth chuckles and run her fingers on his hair.
"You're such a baby." She teased.
Percy mumbles incoherent words that they didn't understand.
"What did you say?" Annabeth asks.
He looks up. "Nothing." He pouted. "Are you done with your work?"
Annabeth hummed.
"Good."
"Hey Annabeth can you tour me around the house. Percy said that you designed it." Kelsi asks.
"No she's busy." Percy glares at her.
"Oh come on don't be selfish."
"You did a great job Annabeth." Sally praised her. "But how did you designed it when the past months you two are.." Sally left it hanging.
"It's a long story mom." Percy answered.
"Okay then. You can tell us another time." Sally smiled at them.
Kelsi went to Annabeth's side. "Come on, show me around." She tugs on her hand.
"Not so fast." Percy interjected.
"Percy." Annabeth warns.
"Apologize first."
Kelsi narrowed her eyes on him. "Fine." She huffed. "I'm sorry oh my dear brother."
Hestia and Sally looked at each other and smile. Sally shook her head later. "You two are impossible."
"No we're awesome." Kelsi laughs before she finally drags Annabeth out.
"Hey!" Percy just called out but they were already out of sight. He turns his attention to his two moms. "What are you guys cooking?"
"Your favorites." Hestia answered smiling at him.
"Nice." He smiled. He is about to pick one of the sliced cheese when Sally swats his hands away.
"Oh come on mom just one piece." He whined. "I'm just hungry."
"Go get something on the fridge. I bet there's something you can eat there."
Percy pouted but followed nonetheless. But instead of going to the fridge, he just grabs an apple.
His phone started ringing. It was an unknown number. He scrunched his eyebrows contemplating for a second if he's going to answer it or not.
"Why don't you answer your phone?" His mom asks.
"It's an unknown number." He answers but then he pressed the answer button. "Hello?"
Percy's face got serious when he heard who's on the other line.
"Who is it?" Sally asks when she saw Percy's reaction.
He holds his finger for a second then he went out of the room. When he was sure that they can't hear him.
"Kronos." He breaths. "What do you want?"
Done! Oh my gods don't hate me for the cliffhanger. I just need to cut it at this point. I'll make it up on the next chapter. I promise.
