Chapter 66

Apollo, Nico, Charles and Percy went for a jog early in the morning. They've been running around the town for more than an hour now. As soon as they had enough they decided to head back. The sun was just rising when they've arrived at the beach so they decided to stop and watch the scenery.

They were all seated on the sand watching the sun rise.

"Wow this is so beautiful." Apollo commented. "I wish the ladies had joined us."

"Yeah it's very rare that we get the chance to see something like this." Nico added.

"They stayed so late last night doing some girly talk."

"What do you expect?" Percy asks laughing. "That's what they always do when they are together."

"It is a good thing there's only five of them or else we didn't get enough sleep last night."

"True!"

"So Nico." Percy started.

"What?"

"I heard that you finally agreed to meet Thalia's parents tomorrow."

Nico scrunched his eyebrows as he looks at Percy. "How'd you know?"

Percy chuckled. "Are you seriously asking me that?"

Nico groaned. "I told her not to tell anybody."

"Oh come on man." Apollo chuckled. "What's wrong with that? You're just going to meet her parents. Why don't you want us to know?"

"Because you're all going to tease me." He pointed out.

"Why would we do that?" Charles asked.

"Because I know you guys." Nico stated. "Especially these two." He pointed to Apollo and Percy.

"Hey!"

"There's nothing to worry about Nico, you'll do great. Just be honest. I'm sure there's only one thing that her parents want to know and that is that you'll take good care of their daughter."

"Charles is right." Apollo agreed.

"If it helps you, I'm going to meet Annabeth's family again too, this time, as Percy Jackson not as Sean Angelo."

"Oh, really? When?" Nico asks.

"Tuesday. It's the twins' birthday."

"Oh. Goodluck with that." Charles teased. They raised their eyebrows at him.

Percy chuckled. "Just kidding, I'm nervous too, you know? But I'm going to do everything to win their trust back."

"That's the spirit!" Apollo cheered. "We're the son's of the Big Three, oh pardon me, I mean Big Four…"

"You don't need to include me." Charles cuts him.

"Of course we do." They chorused.

"It's just so weird." Charles admitted. "I mean, I'm not used to…."

"Oh come on Charles, that's the truth and don't even think for a second that you're not part of our family."

Charles shrugged his shoulders which earned him a tackle from his cousins.

"Get off me!" He protested laughing.

They all end up laughing after that. It took them a couple of minutes before finally managing to calm themselves.

"So what does it feels like to be engaged?" Nico asked Charles after a while.

Charles' smile is so wide that his cousins can't help but be happy for him.

"I can't even explain it. I'm just so overwhelmed."

"It's nice, isn't it?" Apollo asks smiling. "That's what I felt when Chloe said yes to me. I felt like I'm the luckiest man on earth."

"And that too." Charles agreed.

"Awww you two are so much in love." Percy cooed.

"Like you're no other." Nico commented.

"And you're not?" They challenged him.

Nico just shrugged.

"Oh! I'll tell that to Thalia." Charles teased.

"I didn't say that. I just merely shrug but it doesn't mean I'm not in love with her." He argued.

"So did you tell her already?"

"Of course she knows."

"Awww our little boy is really growing up." Apollo teased.

"Oh shut up!"

After a couple of minutes of teasing Nico, Percy suggested that they should head back because they're probably looking for them right now.

They are on their way back home when Apollo asked Nico a question.

"So Nico, what do you think about Malcolm?" Apollo asked. "I mean are you okay with it if they got back together?"

Nico scrunched his eyebrows together. "Get back? Wait you mean they are getting back together?!" He stops in his tracks and face his cousins?"

"No!" Apollo corrects him immediately. "What I'm saying is what if?"

Nico started walking again while thinking of what Apollo asked him.

"I don't know. I mean Bianca has her own decisions and if she's going to be happy with him then who am I to stop her."

"Wow." Percy whistled. "I can't believe you just said that. Being in love is really making you all so softy inside."

Nico punched Percy's shoulder which earned him a laugh from his cousins.

"You know what let's make a bet." Apollo suggested.

"About what?" Charles asked.

"You're spending too much time with the Stoll brothers." Percy pointed out.

"Oh come on don't be such pussies."

"Then what is it all about then? It better not be something that will end us up in a big trouble." Charles asked.

"A bet about Bianca getting back together with Malcolm." Apollo replied cheekily.

"Hey!" Nico protested. "That's my sister we are talking about. I'm not going to participate in a bet that.."

"Oh come on!" Apollo cut him off. "It's just a bet…"

"A bet about what?"

The four of them didn't notice that they already reach the house and that the girls are currently on the veranda enjoying the view while drinking hot chocolates.

"Ahmmm…" Charles started when no one wants to answer Bianca's question.

"A bet about.. "Nico started. He's smiling when he saw that Apollo was looking at him with wide eyes.

"Don't you dare!" Apollo threatened when he saw Nico's reaction.

Percy and Charles chose to remain silent and just watch their two cousins arguing. They were smart enough not to engage with the conversation.

"What?!" The girls demanded.

"Well, Apollo suggested that we make a bet if whether Bianca and Malcolm get back together." He said that in a rush manner.

"Nico!" Apollo cried and he started charging at his cousin. "You're not supposed to tell her!"

Nico quickly took off before Apollo can get to him.

Their cousins watch them amusedly as Apollo chases Nico.

"Kids." Artemis muttered. "You guys never grow up."

Percy just rolled his eyes as he plops down beside his sister and snatched her mug of hot chocolate.

"Get your own!" Kelsi protested as she tries to get it back.

Percy just ignored her and went back to drinking on her mug. Kelsi huffed and decide to go get another one.

Percy just merely laughed. "I love you sis." He teased his sister. "Jerk." She muttered before getting back inside.

"So what's our agenda today?" Chloe asked as her fiancée finally decided to join them as he gave up on chasing Nico.

"Kill Nico." Apollo muttered as he tries to catch his breath.

Chloe just chuckled as she tries to wipe the sweat on Apollo's forehead. "You do realize that you look like an idiot chasing Nico around? I bet your staff would be willing to pay just to see you like this." She teased.

Apollo just glared at her. He didn't expect when Bianca hits him on the back of his head.

"Ow! What the hell B!"

"That's for even suggesting that stupid bet."

"For the record, we didn't agree on him." Nico butted in as he took the seat beside Hazel.

"You didn't because we heard it." Hazel corrected him.

"Hey that's not true. I'm even defending her." Nico argued.

"Whatever." Bianca snorted. "And for the record I don't care. Malcolm and I are already okay so deal with it."

"Oh someone is feisty."

"You mean you two are back together?" Percy teased.

"No you dumbass."

They all laugh at her.

"Just mind your own business." Bianca argued. "Leave my love life alone."

"So you mean there's a big chance that you two are going to get back?" Artemis pushed through but Bianca ignored her and decided to get back inside.

"Just leave it." She ended but they didn't see the smile on her face.

LINEBREAK

"Have you spoken to Thalia?" Percy asks as he noticed that Annabeth has been quiet for some time now.

The two were back at Annabeth's house in Athens since yesterday.

Annabeth took a day off because they will be attending the twin's birthday later this afternoon which will be held at the Chase's home.

"About what?" She asked curtly not even glancing at him. She's currently busy typing away on her laptop.

"About their dinner." Percy said as he made way to sit beside her on the couch.

"Not yet."

She paid no more attention to him so Percy decided to just focus his attention on his phone and browse on his social media accounts thinking that she's just busy with her work. They are both quiet for a couple of minutes when suddenly Percy burst out laughing.

"What?!" Annabeth asks as she watches her boyfriend laughing on something that he saw on his phone.

Percy showed her and much to her dismay it was a picture of him and Calypso. It was a candid shot taken from their last show at Las Vegas and they both look hilarious.

Annabeth's mood worsens as she saw the picture. A while ago Percy got a call from Calypso about work and although she knew that nothing's going on between the two and Percy already made it clear that he's in love with her but still she can't help but be jealous when she saw him talking with her over the phone and laughing.

It also didn't help when she had read comments on his social media that some of their fans were wishing that Calypso and Percy should get back together. In defense to them they didn't know who she was but she can't help but to feel hurt about it.

Although there had been speculations that Percy is in a relationship but they still didn't know her identity. Percy didn't deny it when he was asked about it but he never said anything to keep her safe and for her privacy.

"Hey are you okay?" Percy asks her that snaps her out. She didn't even notice that he already stop laughing and he's now looking at her with a concerned look in his eyes.

"You kind of zone out."

"Yeah I'm fine." She said bitterly.

"I don't think so." He countered. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing." But deep inside her, she wanted to scream at him that she's not okay that he's talking to her ex and that he looks so damn happy. Her inner monster is clouding her judgment. She's never been really good at handling jealousy.

"You sure about that? Because right now it looks like you want to rip my head off. Did I do something wrong?" He tried to grab her hand but she jerks it away.

She can clearly see the hurt look in his eyes about what she did but she ignored it.

"Just ignore me and go back to your phone, it sure makes you happy." She said the last part lowly but he still heard it.

"Is this about Calypso again?" He asked tiredly.

"No!"

She's well aware that his eyebrows shoot up and he's looking at her. "Don't even deny it."

"Don't be so sure of yourself."

Percy snorted. "Just a while ago, you're so excited about the party but after I've talked to her you started to act weird."

"Weird?!" She squeaked. "I'm not being weird." She shuts her laptop a little forceful and places it on the center table. She then gets up from her seat.

"Where are you going?"

"Bedroom and don't follow me."

She turns her back and Percy was left on the couch contemplating on what the hell just happened.

He's smart enough not to follow because he's sure that Annabeth will throw him out of the bedroom if he decides to follow. His moods dampen and he throws his phone away. Even if she doesn't admit it, he knows that it's all about Calypso again. He really needs to be extra careful about it the next time. He knows that it's just one of those days again that she can't help her emotions. Maybe it's her time of the month again. But he's pretty sure that he will know about it.

Giving up he just turns on the TV and decided to watch whatever caught his attention just to kill time.

Percy didn't notice that he fell asleep on the couch. He was startled when Annabeth unceremoniously plops down on the couch.

He's not even properly awake when she announced that he should get ready because they're leaving in an hour. After that she gets up and head towards their bedroom and probably going to take a bath. She didn't even invite him.

Percy lazily gets up and runs his hands on his face. She's still in a bad mood and he's quite nervous on how it will affect the situation later.

The 30 minutes ride to her parent's home was awfully quite. Annabeth didn't even say a single word once they were inside the car. He let her be. It's a good thing that he still remembers the way to the house. She's just looking outside the window the entire ride.

Once they arrived, they both look at the house and the gate was wide open and they can see that there are already guests inside. They can see the twin's friends outside too.

He's nervous as hell. He's about to face her family again and it's not helping that his girlfriend is mad at him. He turns to look at her for support and he caught her already looking at him. She raised an eyebrow at him in question but he just shook his head.

At this point, he'd rather want to go home and sulk than to face her entire family without her support.

"Come on let's go. They're waiting for us." She suggested.

He looks outside and sure is her family is just waiting for them to get out of the car. They're currently standing at the front and looking at their car.

Percy mumbled an "okay". He untangled himself from the seatbelt and before he can get out of the car to open the door for her, she was already outside the car heading towards the house. She even had the guts to remind him about the gifts before strutting away to her family.

Percy let out an annoyed huff. She's really is testing his patience. He stayed inside for a couple of minutes to gather his thoughts. When he glance back at the house they're looking at his direction and they're probably wondering why he hasn't come out yet. Annabeth has her arms crossed out above her chest.

"Just great. " He mumbled. "Well Jackson, suck it up and good luck."

He gets out of the car and grabs the gifts at the back of the car. He takes a couple of deep breaths before finally getting up the courage to step inside their lawn. He's deep in his thoughts on how he's going to greet her family when he was suddenly tackled by two 10 years old who are grinning at him widely.

"Percy!" They chorused which earned them attention.

He smiled widely at them. "Hey guys!" He greeted, these two always been close to him even back at the days. They've grown much taller since the last time he saw them.

"Happy Birthday!" He greeted them and he handed them their gifts.

"Wow thank you!" The twins replied. "Can we open it now?" Matthew spoke up.

By this time Percy is well aware that they all got the attention from all the guests when he takes a glance at his girlfriend, he's pretty sure that she's looking at them amusedly. His gaze turns to Dr. and Mrs. Chase and he can't tell the emotions from their face.

"Oh my God!" Someone shouted which jolted him back to reality.

"You're really are Percy Jackson!"

"Ha! I told you he's dating my sister." Bobby said boastfully.

By this time, he's already surrounded by 10 years old and a couple of teenagers who's fighting for his attention.

"Oh my God you're so gorgeous!"

"Can I take a picture of you?"

"Can I have your autograph?"

"Can you please sign my CD?"

Percy didn't even know how to respond. At times like this, there's Eric and Allie to guide him and right now he's pretty much alone, surrounded by a bunch of kids, teenagers and a couple of Moms. He's already sporting a minor headache.

"Alright." Dr. Chase started. "We better help your boyfriend out there. I'm pretty sure he's not far from running by the attention he's getting." He chuckled.

"Let him be." Annabeth stated.

Frederick and Helen look at their daughter.

"Are you guys fighting?" Helen voices out.

"No!"

"Then come on then, let's go help him before they chase him away."

Annabeth finally laughs. "Fine!"

She and Dr. Chase approached the crowd that currently surrounding Percy.

"Alright guys!" Dr. Chase managed to squeezed himself and stand beside Percy. "Let's give Percy some space. I'm sure he's willing to grant your requests later but right now let him enjoy the party."

Percy thankfully nods at Dr. Chase. He's pretty much sweating right now. He takes a glance at his girlfriend when she stands beside him with a playful smirk on her lips.

'"Don't worry he's going to be here for a while, so there's plenty of time for you to talk to him." Annabeth announced.

Percy reaches for her hand and squeezes it. He's thankful that she doesn't jerk away this time. Instead she looks at him and smile.

Thankfully the crowd parted and Annabeth had heard a couple of teenagers saying that she's lucky because she's dating the gorgeous Percy Jackson and that he's so hot.

Annabeth just rolled her eyes on what she heard. And besides even though she never admits it to him, Percy is really hot.

"Not mad at me anymore?" Percy asked him once they were alone.

"Nah, I took pity on you. You look like you're about to piss your pants."

"Hey!" Percy pouted but it was easily changed with a smile when she kissed him on the cheek.

"Come on." She tugs on his hand. "Let's go say hi to my parents."

Percy visibly gulped but then she squeezes his hands. "It will be alright I promise."

So she let him drags him to her parents.

"Dr. Chase." Percy greeted holding his hands to him. Thankfully he accepts it and he's well aware that it was a little tight but he doesn't mind.

On the other hand, Mrs. Chase was smiling when she hugs him. "Percy." She greeted. "It's nice of you to come by."

"I wouldn't miss the twin's birthday." He stated.

"He's here for a vacation by the way." Annabeth announced whose mood finally changes. She intertwined their hands and Percy's looking at her lovingly and it didn't go unnoticed by them.

"That's good to hear then. Come on let's go inside so that you two can eat."

"Okay."

"Matthew! Bobby!" Helen called out. "Come on it's time for you to blow the cake since your guests of honor has already arrived." She said as she winked at Percy.

Percy blushes a deep shade of red.

"Those two refuse to blow their candles until you two both arrived. They really like you Percy." She even added.

Percy and Annabeth shared a smile. It seems that there's only one person left for Percy to get an approval and that's the head of the family.

Alright I'm going to cut it right there but I'm going to continue this scene some other time but within this week I promise.
