Chapter 9

Outside Interrogation –

"Nice work, Detective." Casey congratulated Olivia.

"Thanks Counselor." Liv replied with a smile. "How was your flight?" Benson asked the redhead, as she placed her hand on the attorney's waist.

"It was fine." Novak answered.

"I didn't realize how much I missed you until now." Olivia confessed with a slight blush. Casey smiled softly.

"I've missed you as well. It's proving difficult to remain professional." Novak expressed leaning into her detective.

"Just a little longer, then we can leave." Benson reassured the young attorney.

"I heard he'd still be out there if it weren't for you. They had no clue that the cases were related." Casey stated.

"I can't believe they didn't run the M.O. and the rape kits. Because they do things backwards here, I'll be here for a couple more weeks." Olivia told the ADA.

"Lucky me because I really want to kiss you right now." Casey whispered shyly.

"A few more minutes." Benson said while returning to paperwork.

"Can I help you with something?" Hoyt asked the redhead perched on his desk.

"Woody this is Casey. Casey, Woody." Liv introduced them.

"Nice to meet you." Novak greeted the young detective.

"Same here." Hoyt replied.

"Okay counselor, let's go." Liv announced as she finished her paperwork. "Woody, call me if you need me. Otherwise, I'll see you tomorrow." She called out as they were leaving. Woody nodded to himself. Jordan walked into the station 15 minutes later.

"Hey Woody, where's Liv?" The ME asked once she reached his desk.

"Um she left, not sure if they went home, or if they went out though." Hoyt answered absentmindedly.

"So, she's with Carmichael?" Cavanaugh questioned.

"No Liv's with her girlfriend, Casey." Woody replied.

"Great." Jordan mumbled.

"Jordan, I don't know what your angle is with Benson, but just don't." Hoyt warned.

"Really Woody, you're taking her side on this. I thought you had my back." Cavanaugh said slightly hurt.

"I do have your back, can't you just leave her alone. She's happy." Woody reassured.

"I'm happy that she's happy." Jordan started slowly.

"Want some advice?" Woody offered.

"Sure." Jordan agreed.

"Give Benson some space. Her girl has just got here, let them be. Maybe things will be better after the weekend." Woody suggested. Jordan just shook her head as she left.

-Benson's loft-

"Shit." Liv said as she read her incoming text.

"What is it?" Casey asked.

"Jordan's going to ignore Hoyt's advice, and will be storming through my door in about 20 minutes." Olivia told the young attorney.

"Should I be worried?" Novak questioned cautiously.

"No, not at all." Benson reassured.

"Detective." Casey pressed, knowing that there was more going on.

"Jordan and I dated years ago, before Abbie. It ended badly. My first night in Boston, I wanted answers. I invited her here for dinner. I ended up having sex with her. Outside of work I've been ignoring her, and she's pissed." Olivia explained honestly. Novak leaned over and kissed Liv on her forehead.

"Olivia!" Jordan shouted as she stormed into the loft.

"I'll make myself scares. I'll be in the kitchen; I've got some paperwork to finish up." Casey excused herself with a small smile.

"What Jordan?" Benson asked softly and exhausted.

"Outside of work, you barely acknowledge my existence, why?" Cavanaugh asked desperately.

"There's no reason to socialize outside of work." Liv replied shortly.

"What about what happened your first night here? That meant nothing to you? Or do you not want your girlfriend to know about that?" Jordan ticked off questions angrily.

"First, I told Casey right before you stormed in here. Secondly, what did you think that was? It was a quick fuck up against a wall." Olivia told her ex bluntly.

"Woody interrupted us." Cavanaugh protested fiercely.

"Abbie wasn't that far behind him. Do you want to know how the rest of that night played out?" Liv countered back daring the ME to question her.

"Detective." Novak cautioned from her place in the kitchen.

"Right, sorry Counselor. I didn't realize how angry I still am about what happened." Benson apologized for her anger.

"Considering what Dr. Cavanaugh did, and how she did it. It's quite understandable, but please try to keep it civil." Casey pleaded. Liv raised an eyebrow, unsure of how her girlfriend knew the particulars of her past with Jordan. Casey smiled softly before answering the unspoken query. "Carmichael gave me the history lesson. We've been in contact since you left. I completely understand why she's so special to you. Her entire family adopted you, and considers you family. It's great babe." Casey explained while going to embrace her detective.

"Thank you." Olivia whispered before kissing the young attorney softly on the lips.

"Anytime babe. I'm going to shower and decompress. Try to be civil and I'll be waiting for you." Novak told her girl. Liv nodded in understanding, and watched Casey leave the room.

"She warned me about trying to recreate what we had back then. I thought she felt threatened by me, but Abbie was genuinely trying to help. She didn't do it for me though; it was so this argument didn't have to happen. It was for you." Jordan realized with a small chuckle. "You're very lucky that you've got someone who loves you in the unique way that Abbie does." Jordan expressed.

"I love her exactly as she loves me." Benson relayed the deep friendship she shared with Carmichael. "Jordan, what happened that night shouldn't have happened. I'm sorry for that. I still have too much anger about how you left. I'll get through that anger, and maybe when I do we can try to be friends." Olivia apologized sincerely.

"She literally changed the trajectory of this conversation with a simple word, Detective." Jordan realized with a laugh.

"She does have that annoying ability." Liv said with a smile.

End. Sorry it took so long to finish this. R&R thanks
