Dr. Chase was trying very hard not to be notice by his wife and daughter who are currently busy cleaning the dishes. You might ask what he was currently doing. Well he's spying or rather keeping an eye on Percy while he was surrounded by a couple of kids, well to be specific, Matthew and Bobby's friends for this instance.

The twin's birthday ended a while ago and now only their closest friends were left while waiting for their parents to come and get them. Their circle of friends consists of three girls and five boys. Currently the three girls were only focused on Percy of course, while the boys are randomly exchanging places playing the XBOX and joining the conversation which is mostly interviewing Percy about his life and relationship with Annabeth. Although Percy is a bit uncomfortable by the situation, he's being polite and modest in all his answers and he makes sure that he's paying attention throughout the conversation.

Dr. Chase on the other hand was having a dilemma. Since the time he had learned the truth about Percy and that they eventually got back together, he's already determined to talk to him to make sure that Percy has no more secrets in his life. He just doesn't want to see his daughter get hurt again. He wants to scare him, that of course his plan but how can he do it when he's still the same young man whom he immediately like when they were first introduced and to think that he was introduced as Annabeth's boyfriend back then.

Helen was studying her husband for quite a while now. He's currently sitting at the center island of the kitchen holding a newspaper but reading is far from his mind. His position can directly see what was happening at the living room and Helen was sure on what he was doing.

She puts down what she was doing and moves closer to her husband. She cleared her throat to get his attention but it seems he's so deep in his thoughts.

"What do you think you're doing?" Helen whispered in his ear.

Dr. Chase slightly jumps by what his wife had done.

"Helen!" He chastised. "You nearly gave me a heart attack."

"Everything alright?" Annabeth asked turning around to look at them. She's currently washing the dishes.

Helen smiled at her. "Nothing dear, I'm just teasing your dad."

Annabeth arcs an eyebrow at them and shook her head. She went back to what she was doing.

Dr. Chase glared at his wife. "What was that for anyway?"

"You tell me." Helen dares him.

"What are you talking about?" This time he puts the paper down to face his wife.

Helen crosses her arms. She raises an eyebrow at him. "I know what you are doing."

He scrunched his eyebrows but then Helen motioned him to where Percy is.

Dr. Chase let out a deep sigh. There's no point in keeping it to her. "Can you blame me?" He asked.

Helen shook her head and smiled at him. "No and I truly understand you. But look at him." As if on cue they both look at Percy's direction. "Nothing has changed of him since the last time we saw him. He's the same man. Well the only thing that changed is his name and status in life but besides that, I can still see the good in him."

"Well …" Dr. Chase started. "You can't blame me if I wanted to play the role of a protective father. I just don't want my daughter to get hurt again."

"And I won't be." Annabeth joined in. She's been eavesdropping at them.

Frederick and Helen look at her.

"Sorry I didn't mean to interrupt and barge into your conversation." She dried her hands and walks towards them. She stands beside her father and she can see Percy on her position.

"I know you're just looking out for me but I assure you Dad he's not going to hurt me."

"How can you be so sure about that? He hurt you before by lying to you. So how can you be so sure that he's not going to do that again? And besides you guys are so far away from each other, are you sure that he's going to stay loyal for you for a long time?"

"To be honest I'm not sure about all of that but I trust him with all my heart. I love him and he loves me too. It's hard that we are far away from each other most of the time but we're both handling it. And I can see that he's trying his best to make this relationship work and I'm thankful for that."

Frederick holds his daughter's hand. "I just don't want you to get hurt."

"I'm a big girl now Daddy." She smiled as she squeezed his hand. "Trust me when I say that Percy is a good guy and he loves me."

"He's right dear. You've seen how he mingled with the guest a while ago. Never did I saw him complain. He always smiled and entertained them with all the questions that they've been asking him. And he never once says no with all the requests for pictures and autograph."

"But what about his parents? His family? Are they treating you well?"

Annabeth smiled at them. "Yes they've been so good to me even from the very start. They welcomed me warmly."

"Oh dear, that's so good to hear. Your Dad and I were very worried on how they will treat you."

Annabeth went to sit beside his father and Helen felt that she needed to do the same so she went to sit beside her too.

"Well that's my worst fear when I went to New York with them to finally see him after we broke up …" She recalled the events for her parents right from the invitation for them to see his concert and up to the moment where she met his family.

"Wow." Helen blurted out. "I mean it's just hard to believe how down to earth they are."

Annabeth nodded her head. "Hard to believe isn't it? But it's the truth. They've welcomed all of us kindly."

"But with the pictures and articles that I've been looking at, they seem rather snob and highly unattainable." Frederick blurted too late for him to take back what he said.

Annabeth's eyes got wide. Never did it occur to her that her father will spy on Percy's family but she's not upset. She understands why his father did that. Helen on the other hand already knows it since she caught her husband doing it but pretended that she didn't saw a thing.

"Really Dad? You did that?" She asked amusedly.

He just shrugged. "You can't blame me. I mean look at them, they're the most powerful family in the US. You can't blame me for worrying that they'll treat you bad just because we are not on the same level with them."

"I totally understand your opinion about them but it will surely change once you meet them."

Helen raised an eyebrow at her. "Are you implying that we should meet his family? Or is there something that we should know?" She teases Annabeth.

Annabeth blushes when she realized what Helen was implying. "Oh my god that's not what I meant."

"Are you sure? Because from what I heard his family is here too." She smirked. Frederick eyes got wide when he finally caught on where the conversation is going.

"Oh my God!" He exclaimed. "Don't tell me…"

"No!" Annabeth cuts him off. "You've got the wrong idea. Have you seen any ring in my finger?" She stated, showing them her hands.

"So in the near future then." Helen teased further.

"Mom." She whined.

They were interrupted when Percy suddenly appeared. He smiled at them when he saw that they're having a talk. "Am I interrupting something?" He asked.

Annabeth shook her head and shoot a warning glare to her parents not to say anything. "Nothing babe." She smiled. "Need anything?" She asked as she stands up to meet him.

Helen just rolled her eyes at her and went back to putting the dishes away.

"Nothing, I just missed you that's all." He admitted smiling at her.

Annabeth wraps her arms around him to peck his lips. Frederick cleared his throat which earns him a laugh from her wife and daughter. Percy on the other hand blushes as he rubs the back of his head.

"So they finally let you go?" Annabeth asks him referring to the girls at the living room.

"Well not really. I just told them that I needed to go to the bathroom." He smiled sheepishly. "I just can't believe that they never run out of questions to ask."

"Oh dear, never ever underestimate them." Helen chuckled.

"Guys!" Matthew called out before appearing at the kitchen. "Our friends are going home. Their rides are here."

"Oh okay then."

They said goodbye to the twin's friends as they went to see them go. Much to their amusement the girls hug Percy so tight and kiss him on the cheek before running off to their parents. Matthew was just laughing but Bobby is scowling.

"Everything alright bro?" Matthew teased as they head back inside.

"Shut up!" Bobby hissed at him.

"Bobby!" Helen scolded.

"Sorry Mom!" He shoved Matthew away then head straight to the living room to play. Matthew followed suit smirking.

Annabeth just shook her head to her brother's antics. She'd learned long ago to never get in the middle of what they've been arguing about. Percy puts his arm around her as they get inside. They followed her parents right back at the kitchen. Dr. Chase went back to reading the newspaper as Helen went back to whatever she's doing.

"Need any help?" Percy offered when Annabeth told him that she's just going to finish washing the dishes.

"No need. Just go back to those two and make sure that they don't kill each other." She chuckled.

Percy pouted. "But I'd rather stay here with you."

"Guys, really?" Dr. Chase whined. "We're right here you know."

"Oh come on dear, don't be so harsh. We are once like that you know." Helen chastised him but she's smiling.

Annabeth smirked. 'Go." She mouthed. But Percy shook his head.

Right then they heard the twins arguing again.

Percy offered to see what was going on. He went away without waiting for their answer.

The three left look at each other and made a decision to let Percy handle the situation. But being the nosy father he is, Frederick went back to his previous position to see how Percy will handle the situation since basing from what they were hearing it's not far before the two started to fight.

Dr. Chase was startled when Annabeth and Helen joined him in his position. "What are you guys doing?"

"Same as you." Helen dismissed him.

They saw Percy approached the twins.

"Hey guys what's going on?"

"Nothing, Matthew is just being an ass!" Bobby hissed.

"Hey language." Percy scolded him. "You guys want to talk about it? Maybe I can help you guys."

Matthew only laughs which confuses Percy more. "Oh you can definitely help, right bro?"

Bobby glared at him. "Shut up!"

"Why don't you tell to Percy how jealous you are that the girl you like has a crush on him big time."

This time Bobby launch at his brother. "You idiot!"

Thankfully Percy was quick enough to catch him before he can hurt his brother. "Woah easy there tiger." He said chuckling.

Dr. Chase was about to go and interfere but Helen and Annabeth stop him.

"Is that true Bobby?"

"No! He's lying!"

"No I'm not!"

"Yes you are! How can you be so sure that I like her?"

"Because I saw a picture of her in your phone."

"You're snooping on my phone!" Bobby growled. "That's it!" He attempted to grab his brother but Percy got in the way again.

"Hey calm down. What's wrong if you like her?" He asks trying to calm Bobby.

"Yeah Bobby what's wrong if you like her? Oh right." He pretended to think. "She doesn't like you because she has a crush on Percy and you're so jealous."

"Matthew." Percy finally scolded. "Leave your brother alone."

Matthew just rolled his eyes.

"Is it true?" Percy turned to Bobby. "So which one of them?" He asked smiling.

"Why should I tell you? You're just going to make fun of me."

"No I'm not."

"Yes you are!" He crosses his arms and went to sit on the couch. Percy followed him.

"Okay I won't ask anymore. If you don't want to say it, it's fine with me."

Bobby kept quiet just glaring at his brother.

"You know that it's just a crush." Percy pointed out. "I'm pretty sure she'll get over it quickly. And aren't you both too young to enter in a relationship."

"Woah!" Bobby exclaimed. "Hold it right there. Why are you even talking about relationship? I just turned eleven."

Percy chuckled. "Now you see my point. So don't feel bad that the girl you had a crush on likes someone else. So don't let Matthew get into your head."

"Yeah you're right." Bobby let out a deep sigh. "Thanks."

"Don't mention it." Percy smiled. He ruffled Bobby's hair much to his annoyance.

"So everything alright?" Annabeth asked as she joined the two in the couch.

"Yes." He smiled putting his arm around her.

Helen and Frederick joined them later. Bobby then went back to playing with his brother.

"Percy." Helen called his attention.

Percy looked at her. "Yes ma'am."

Helen smiled at his formality. "I heard your family is here in Greece and as well as your cousins." She smirked at Annabeth's direction.

Annabeth's eyes widen. "What are you doing?" She mouthed at her.

"Oh yes, they are. They're in Patras now. They decided to come and visit mom too."

"You mean Hestia?" Frederick asks.

"Yes sir."

"I got used to calling her mom and she's fine with it if I continued to call her that instead of Aunt Hestia." He explained.

"Oh right, Annabeth told us the story behind it."

Percy smiled at them.

"So are they having a good time here in Greece?"

"Yes very much."

"Wait." Bobby butted in. "You mean your family is here?" He asks Percy.

"Yes." Percy answered. "But Dad can't come. My cousins are here instead."

"So does that mean your sister is here?" He inquired more.

"Bobby are you not listening to him?" Annabeth scolded. "He did in fact say that his father is the only one who can't come."

"Well I'm just making sure."

"Where are you going with it by the way?" She asks his brother then she saw Matthew glaring at Bobby. "And what's wrong with you?" She motioned to Matthew.

This time it was Bobby's turn to smirk. "Yeah brother what's wrong?"

"Nothing." But he is still glaring at Bobby. Bobby mouthed revenge time to his brother.

"So how long are they going to stay here?" Helen inquired more. It was Annabeth's turn to scowl again.

"A week. They only have a couple of days left actually, that's why I'm going back to Patras tomorrow."

"Oh I see."

Percy nodded his head. Then he scratches the back of his head. He seems so nervous when he spoke and it didn't go unnoticed by Annabeth.

"Well actually." He started. "Mom was kind of hoping to meet you guys." He said shyly.

"Really?" Frederick asks. Helen smirked at Annabeth as if to say she didn't do anything wrong.

"Well that's nice of her. We are actually kind of hoping to meet them too." Helen stated.

"We are?" Frederick asks his wife and wants to add since when.

"I think that's a good idea." Bobby blurted out. All eyes turned to him. They were well aware how easily his mood changes and he looks like he has an evil idea running in his head. And now they can see that it's Matthew's turn to glare at his brother.

"Why do you think that it is a good idea?" His sister inquired amused by her brother's eagerness.

"Well because I'm sure Matthew will be ecstatic to meet Kelsi." Bobby declared and hurriedly went to Percy's side to hide.

"Bobby!" Matthew exclaimed. Unlike his brother's reaction when he was teased, he buried his face in his hands out of embarrassment.

The adults look at each other, amused by the twins. Bobby on the other hand felt bad when he saw his brother. He didn't expect Matthew's reaction. He thought that he will jump at him like he did a while ago. Then he realized that unlike him, Kelsi's brother is sitting right beside him.

Percy didn't know how to handle the situation. He saw on the corner of his eyes that Bobby felt bad about spilling his brother's secret.

"Well …" He started. Annabeth looks at him as if to warn him. He smiled at her to reassure her not to further embarrass Matthew.

"Kelsi will be flattered to hear that but don't worry I won't tell her."

Matthew finally looks at him but still blushing. "Promise?"

"I swear." He smiled at him.

Matthew let out a deep sigh, not so embarrass anymore.

"Kelsi is single by the way." Percy teases which earned him a nudge by his girlfriend.

Matthew groaned embarrass again.

"Okay that's enough." Helen stated. "May I remind you two that you are both still young to think about those things."

"Mom!" The two groaned.

Helen nudged Frederick to say something.

"Your mom is right. Listen to her."

Helen glared at him. "That's it?"

"What? What do you want me to say?"

"Oh never mind."

Annabeth and Percy chuckled.

"So will it be okay if they meet you guys?" Percy then changes the topic. The twins shot him a thankful nod.

"But of course. It will be our pleasure. Just tell us when." Helen answered.

"That's great then, I'll ask mom about it and we will inform you guys."

"Okay."

Annabeth kept quiet the whole time and Percy noticed him. "You okay?"

She smiled at him. "Yes I'm fine. We should probably go." She suggested.

"What? Can you guys stay for a little while?" Bobby and Matthew requested.

Percy looks at Annabeth. "Okay then." She answered.

"Yes!"

"So can I talk to Percy then?" All eyes turn to him. Dr. Chase just chuckled. "Don't worry I won't bite him. I just want to talk to him, it won't take long."

"What for Dad?" Annabeth asks with a warning tone.

"Hey it's okay." Percy reassured her. He squeezed her shoulder and kissed her cheek before moving to stand. Dr. Chase nods at him to follow. Helen shot him an apologetic look but he just smiled at her. Percy was actually waiting for this moment.

Frederick led him upstairs to his study room. "Take a seat."

Percy sits on the couch. He's a hypocrite if he denies that he's not a bit terrified. Dr. Chase looks so calm but serious at the same time.

"So I guess you have an idea on why I wanted to talk to you."

"Yes sir."

"You see, I don't disagree with my daughter getting back to you after what happened but I just wanted to make sure that it won't happen again. She's my only daughter and I wanted what's best for her."

"I understand sir."

"I can see that you truly care for her."

"I do sir. I'm in love with your daughter."

Dr. Chase smiled at him. "I believe you."

"I know it's hard for you to trust me but I'm doing my best to make your daughter happy."

"And I think you're doing fine with it." Frederick stated. "She looks so happy and content and I know I have to thank you for that."

"Thank you sir."

"I just hope that you guys remain true to each other in spite of the long distance relationship you guys have."

Percy smiled sadly. "It's quite hard actually sir but we're trying our best to make it work."

Frederick nodded his head. "I just don't want her to get hurt and if you do …"

"I get it sir. I won't hurt her, not intentionally of course. I love her sir and you have my word for that. In spite of the distance I can assure you that I'll remain faithful to her."

"I don't need your promise young man. I just want to see you act on it."

"And I will sir."

"And I guess we are done here." Dr. Chase stands and offers his hand to Percy.

Percy accepts with a smile. Glad that Dr. Chase gave him his approval.

When the two finally emerged from upstairs all eyes were turned to them. Annabeth looks worried but upon seeing the smile on his boyfriend's face she finally relaxed.

Helen on the other hand is eyeing her husband. The twins just look curious.

After a while the couple said goodbye to them and Percy promised that they will see each other again.

LINEBREAK

Once they are inside the car, Annabeth turns to him and asks him what they talk about.

"It's just between me and your dad babe."

She pouted. "Why can't you tell me? Did he threaten you?"

"No." He lied. "We just had a talk and I'm sure you know about what."

"So then why can't you tell me the details?"

"Annabeth."

"Percy." She mimicked.

Percy rolled his eyes. "You won't stop, are you?"

She smiled cheekily at him. "Nope."

"He just wanted to make sure that I won't hurt you."

"That's it?"

"Yeah, should there be any more?"

"Wow. He let you off that easy then."

"I guess so."

"I wonder why?" She said thinking.

"Maybe because I told him that I'm in love with you." He said smiling at her.

Annabeth looks at him in disbelief. "You.. You told him that?" She stammered.

"Yes I did. Shouldn't I?"

"No, it's just that I can't believe you said it to him."

Percy chuckled. "Because that's the truth."

"Awww." She cooed resting her head on his shoulder. Percy kissed the top of her head.

She then looks at him. She tugs on his shirt to look at her.

"What?"

"I love you." She declared and pecks his lips. "And I want you to know how thankful I am to have you in my life. And I've never been so happy."

"Did you really just do that?" Percy stated chuckling which kills the mood. "Declaring your love for me right here on the road."

"Way to ruin the moment jerk." She crosses her arms and pouted.

Percy suddenly felt bad. She grabs her hand and squeezed it. He wanted to face her but he's currently driving. "I'm sorry for being a jerk. I'm just teasing you."

She still kept quiet. Thankfully they reach the house. He forces her to look at him. He tilted her chin to look at him.

"I'm so sorry. I'm a jerk. And I want you to know that I'm luckier than you are because you love me."

She softened. "It's okay I forgive you."

Percy smiled at her and kisses her. "I love you so much Annabeth Chase."

Annabeth hugs him and then she noticed someone sitting on the steps in front of her door. Then she recognized him. She pulled away from Percy.

"Is that Nico?"

Percy looks at where she's looking. And she's definitely right. His cousin looks so troubled sitting on the steps.

"Are you guys supposed to meet?" She asks.

"Not that I remember. But he texted me a while ago asking if we are already home."

The two get out of the car and approach Nico who seems so deep in his thoughts that he's not showing any signs that he already noticed them.

"Nico." Percy called.

That snaps him out of his reverie. "Percy." He choked.

He looks like he's about to cry.

"Everything alright man?"

He shook his head.

"What happened?" Annabeth asks worriedly. "Where's Thalia? Why are you here alone?"

Nico lost it and he started to cry.

"What's wrong Nico?" Percy asks worriedly. Never did he saw his cousin so broken just like now.

Nico looks at them.

"Thalia broke up with me."

Okay done, for now! Ha, it's been a while that I wrote a cliffhanger, so there you go (evil grin).

Please tell me what you think.
