Before you guys start reading the next chapter, I wanted to apologize first for not updating for the past couple of weeks. Work has been hell, I can't find time to sit and write another chapter. I've been so stressed. Thank you guys knowing that you guys like my stories.

Chapter 68

Previously ….

"What happened?" Annabeth asks worriedly. "Where's Thalia? Why are you here alone?"

Nico lost it and he started to cry.

"What's wrong Nico?" Percy asks worriedly. Never did he saw his cousin so broken just like now.

Nico looks at them.

"Thalia broke up with me."

"Wait, What?!" Percy asked incredulously.

"What?! But why?"

Nico shakes his head. "I don't know?"

He rubs his hands on his face frustrated as he tries to sit again but Percy stops him.

"Come on." Percy suggested. "Let's go inside to talk." He turns to Annabeth. "Baby, kindly open the door please."

"S…sure." Annabeth stammered as she rummaged through her bag for the keys. She's shaking a little from the news. How could she not know it that Thalia has been planning to end things with Nico?

She was deep in her thoughts when Percy touched her shaking hand to get the key from her and unlocked the door.

Once the door was opened, Percy guides Nico inside who looks so lost right now. Annabeth's heart was crushed seeing her boyfriend's cousin. How could she not notice that there's something wrong going on between them? She tried hard to remember the last time she saw her, it was just a couple of days ago but everything then seemed to be fine. She was happy, they were happy.

She was snapped back to reality when Percy called her name, "Annabeth." He softly called. "Can you get a glass of water for Nico?"

"O…of course." She immediately went to the kitchen to get the water. She's thankful right now that Percy's handling things so calmly.

By the time she gets back to them, she handed the water to Percy who immediately offered to his cousin. Thankfully Nico accepted it and gulped down the water.

"So, would you like to tell us what happened?" Percy asked softly looking at his cousin's broken form.

Nico shook his head and rubs his hands in his face. "I…I really don't know what went wrong?"

Percy and Annabeth looked at each other confusedly.

"What do you mean?" She inquired.

Nico slowly leaned back on the couch as he started to recall the events. "Before we left Patras, everything seems to be okay, except the fact that we were both nervous about me meeting her parents. I really don't know what went wrong. Yesterday before we had to meet them, she's so supportive of me, reassuring me that she'll be there right beside me the whole time."

"Then finally we have to meet her parents, at first his Dad was so intimidating that I didn't know how to handle the situation but then as time goes by he warmed up on me. He may have realized that I truly love their daughter and that I'm serious about her. Her Mom on the other hand was truly wonderful the whole night."

"What about Thalia? How was she during the dinner?"

"She's… she's been calm the whole time I guess. She had hold my hand throughout and squeezed it to comfort me when her Dad somewhat being straightforward."

"Then I don't understand." Annabeth mused. "Why did she break up with you then?"

Nico groaned running his hand to his hair and into his face. "She said that she's not ready. That she's not sure about the two of us, that it was all her and I did nothing wrong."

Annabeth already has a hint on why Thalia suddenly break up with him but she's not quite sure yet. She needed to talk to her.

"Hey." Percy put his arm around his cousin when he saw him silently crying. "It's going to be alright. She's just probably confused or something."

Nico just buried his face in his hands, trying to control his sobbing. Percy and Annabeth can't help but to feel sorry for him.

When Percy caught Annabeth's eyes, she motioned to the kitchen for them to talk. When he got the message, she leaves first and Percy followed him after he told Nico that he'll be back.

"What is it?" Percy inquired.

"Will you two be okay if I leave you for a while?"

"Where are you going?"

"I needed to see Thalia, I just have a hunch about what's going on and I want to make sure how she's doing. Is that okay?"

"Oh okay. Sure you can go. Maybe you'll find out what's really going on."

Annabeth then noticed the worried look on Percy. "Are you okay?" She asks as she holds his hand.

"Y…yeah, of course I'm fine." He said not meeting her eyes.

She stepped forward and lifted his chin so that he can look at her. "I know you're lying." She caressed his cheek. "What's wrong baby?"

He looked so torn as he says the words, "You're… You're not going to leave me too, are you?"

"Oh Percy." She gasped as she hugs him. "Of course not, why would you think of that?"

Percy tightens his hold on her, burying his face in her hair. "It's just that… What if you suddenly realized something and then you'll just break up with me just like what Thalia did to Nico."

She pulls back so that she can hold his face. "I will never do that, okay? Do you believe me?"

"Yes." He looks so vulnerable right now. "Please promise me that you'll never going to leave me because I don't know if I'm going to be able to handle it again."

She kisses him on the lips and poured all her emotions into it. She knows where he's coming from and right now she needed to make him realize that she's not going anywhere.

"I love you so much." She said as she broke the kiss.

Percy smiled timidly at her. He rests his forehead on hers. "I love you too so much."

She pecked his lips once more before finally breaking away. "I have to go. I'll be back as soon as I can, okay?"

"Okay, I'll take care of him."

She nodded as she began putting her coat on.

When they went back to the living room, they saw Nico silently shaking from crying while his face was buried in his hands. Percy's heart broke as he looks at his cousin. Never did he see Nico so broken like this.

He felt Annabeth squeezed his hand. He can tell that she too feel so sad of what had happened.

She squeezed his hand once more and she mouthed that she's going.

"Be careful." Percy called out as he watched her leave the house.

Percy then walked back to where his cousin is. Right now the only thing he can do for him is to be there for him. He's hoping that Annabeth can knock some sense on Thalia.

LINEBREAK -

Annabeth parked the car outside Thalia's home. She's thankful that she didn't leave the house, her car was outside.

She pressed the buzzer and after a few seconds the door opens.

"Nico." Annabeth heard Thalia says before the door fully opened.

Thalia is in a mess. She can tell that she's been crying.

"Annabeth."

Thalia wasn't expecting her bestfriend, she's hoping that it was Nico, that he came back after what happened between them.

Annabeth looks at her bestfriend. She's about to yell at her and demand to her what was going on but on the way she looks right now, Annabeth doesn't have the heart to do it.

Thalia opens the door for her without any word and let Annabeth inside the house.

"So.." Annabeth started once they were in the living room but before she can continue Thalia broke down in tears.

"I'm so stupid!" Thalia cried.

Annabeth guided her into the couch and rubs her back as she cries. She didn't say anything.

When Thalia calmed down she looks at Annabeth. "He's there, isn't it?" It wasn't really a question because Thalia knows that Nico will go to Percy after he left.

Annabeth just nodded. "What happened?"

"Didn't he tell you already?"

"Yes he did, but I want to know why that's why I'm here." Annabeth stated. "I'm not here to judge you but I'm here to listen."

"What happened? Nico is devastated Thalia."

"But I am too!" Thalia cried.

Annabeth raised an eyebrow at her. "I can see that. Then why did you break up with him in the first place?"

Thalia suddenly stand up and she started pacing back and forth much to Annabeth's amusement. She's pretty sure then that her hunch is right.

"I don't know."

Annabeth is right then. Thalia was just having one of her moments and Annabeth knew that when she does, she makes reckless decisions. That's one of her flaws.

"My God Thalia!" Annabeth looks at her like she's grown another head. "We've talked about these things. I told you that.."

"I'm in love with him!" Thalia cut her off.

"What?!"

"I love him that's why. I'm freakin head over heels in love with him!"

"I know that you love him."

"But he doesn't know."

"What?! He doesn't know that you love him?" Annabeth was even more confused right now.

"I never did tell him."

"Jeez Thalia, you guys are dating for over a year now and you never once told him that you love him?"

Thalia shook her head.

"My God!"

Thalia went back to sitting in the couch far away from her bestfriend.

Annabeth racked her brains trying to come up with a good question. The whole situation is confusing her so much.

"Let's back up a little bit. Let's go back to the reason why you broke up with him even though you're in love with him."

"I…" Thalia started. "I'm afraid."

"Afraid of what?"

"Afraid that everything is going so fast that everything suddenly gets so serious. Dad was asking me when we will get married! Can you believe him?"

"I just introduced him to them and now he's asking about marriage?! I get that they like him but can we just take it slow and not talk about marriage?"

Annabeth just listens to her as she rattles about her dilemma.

"I didn't even tell him that I love him."

"Why?" Annabeth cut her off. "Didn't he say it too?"

"Actually he already did a couple of times."

"And you never even once said it back?" Annabeth asked exasperated.

Thalia shook her head. "He totally understands it. He said he's willing to wait until the day that I'm ready to tell him that I love him."

"Wow, I don't even know what to say."

"I know. I'm so stupid. I don't even know what to do anymore."

"But you do love him." Annabeth clarified.

"I just told you!"

"Hey! I'm just making sure."

"I'm sorry. God I'm such a bitch."

"You can say that." Annabeth joked.

"Hey!"

"But seriously, Nico loves you so much Thalia. He looks so devastated."

Thalia started crying again.

Annabeth went to her side. "I know that you're just afraid because the only real relationship you have was with him. Your past relationships were never this serious and you never put so much emotion into it. And then Nico came along and everything changes. You let him in fully into your life and you let yourself fall in love with him."

"I know you're just terrified to realize all these things. Because back then you never even thought about any of these because you love him and that's what all that matters. And your Dad saw it too that's why he brought that topic."

"I'm just afraid."

"I know because I know you. But think about it, are you going to let him go just because you're afraid that when you let him know that you love him everything will be ruined?"

"Yes."

"Thalia." Annabeth whined.

"What if I screw up? What if I can't fully give him the love that he deserves? You know me Annabeth, I'm a total wreck inside. I don't do this kind of relationship, I never get serious."

"So you're telling me that all this time you were just playing him? You just admitted that you're in love with him."

"Yes I am but that doesn't mean that our relationship is serious."

"Gods Thalia!" Annabeth exclaimed. "You really are fucked up!"

Thalia knew that Annabeth rarely cursed and when she does she's totally pissed off.

"I'm sorry it's just that.."

"Are you even paying attention to what you are saying? Are you hearing yourself? Nico loves you and you love him, what so hard with that?"

Thalia buried her face in her hands.

"Think about it, are you going to be fine with all of this? Are you sure that you really want him out of your life? Are you going to be okay if he leaves Greece and never to return again? That you're not going to see him again or hear him say that he loves you?"

"No." Thalia abruptly replied.

"Then what the hell are you waiting for? Go get him back!"

"That's the second time you cursed." Thalia noted just to lighten the mood. She was met with a smack at the back of her head.

"Ouch!"

"Go fix yourself. You look like you went through a hurricane." Annabeth teased.

"Ha ha."

Annabeth shook his head smiling. Thalia then stand up and head to her room but she then stop and look back at Annabeth.

"Do you think he'll take me back?" She asks worriedly.

"110% sure. Now go, time is precious. I'm kind of worried leaving them two alone for a long time. Guys tend to do stupid things at times like this."

Thalia snorted before finally entering her room to change.

LINEBREAK -

Thalia was fidgeting in her seat as they parked outside Annabeth's home. She brought her own car. She waited as she watched Annabeth get off her car.

Annabeth then gestured to her to come out and she reluctantly did so.

"You okay?" Annabeth asks as she approached her.

"I don't think I can do this." She admitted.

"Of course you can. Just tell him the truth and I know he will totally understand."

Thalia then nodded signaling that she's ready.

As Annabeth opens the door, they were met with a blasting sound of the TV.

"Percy!" Annabeth yelled over the noise hoping that her boyfriend can hear her.

But as they went to the living room they were shocked to see Nico passed out on the couch while the TV is blasting so loud. Empty beer bottles were on the center table and Annabeth didn't bother to count.

"Oh Nico." Thalia gasped as she saw him half lying on the couch. He looks so terrible. She went to check on him while Annabeth scans the house for her boyfriend.

"Percy!" She called again.

She heard something on the kitchen so she made her way there. She found Percy on the table passed out too while holding a glass of water. She somewhat expected this.

"Percy." She shook him.

Percy only groaned. She took the glass from him and she shook him once again.

"Wake up."

"Hmm." He replied as he finally opens his eyes. "Hey."

"Come on, let's get you to bed."

"Bed?" He asks groggily. "You just got home and you already want me in bed?" He smirked.

Annabeth just rolled her eyes. This is actually the first time she'll have to deal with a drunk Percy.

He tried to stand but failed miserably. "Why is the floor moving?"

Good Lord. Annabeth wanted to burst out laughing because he just looks so hilarious.

"No genius, you're just drunk." She stated. She helped him stand to his feet and put his arm around her so that she can support him.

"Who's drunk?" He asks stupidly while looking at her.

"Jeez baby you smell bad."

Percy pouted and he tries to kiss her but met with Annabeth's palm instead. "Oh come on." He whined.

"Who's the genius behind to think that drinking will solved anything?" She knows that it's useless to ask but she did anyway.

"Me?" He answered unsurely. "Oh wait, it was Nico. Wait where's Nico?" He tried to stand on his own but he barely can manage.

"He's passed out on the couch."

Percy then saw Thalia on the living room beside Nico. "Thalia." He stiffened seeing the girl who hurt his cousin.

"What is she doing here?" He sobered a little bit.

"She came here to talk to him but looks like it will have to wait."

"She hurt him." Thalia winced at Percy's words.

"Come on." Annabeth drags him. "We'll talk about this tomorrow."

"But she can't…" He protested.

"Percy." She said sternly and he nodded his head which by the way is not a good idea because his vision started spinning again. He clutches on her.

"Need any help?" Thalia asks.

Annabeth shook her head.

Thalia watched the two as Annabeth helped Percy to their room. She then turned to look at Nico who's so drunk to not notice what's happening around him. She caressed his face and tears started to flow again.

She regretted her actions. She loves him and she'll do anything just to get him back.

A couple of minutes later, Annabeth came back.

"You okay?"

Thalia nodded as she wipes the tears away.

"You guys should stay here for the night."

"Will that be okay?"

"Of course you silly, I'll just set the guest room and then I'll help you with Nico."

"Thanks."

Annabeth just smiled at her.

After a while they finally manage to get Nico into the guest room.

"Do you need anything else?" Annabeth asks.

Thalia shook her head. "Thank you."

Annabeth squeezed her hand. "I'll see you guys in the morning. If you need anything I'll be in my room."

"Goodnight."

Thalia closes the door and Annabeth went back to the living room to clean the mess that the two did. She shook her head as she put away the beer bottles.

When she went back to her room, she saw her man deep in his sleep. She smirked when she remembers the way he acted a while ago. She's going to tease him about it in the morning. She turns off the light as she joins him in the bed.

LINEBREAK -

Percy woke up with a massive headache. He suddenly felt the need to throw up and he rushed to the bathroom. He then decided to take a shower to lessen the feeling of hangover.

Annabeth was not in their room when he wakes up so he went out to look for her. He tries to remember what happened last night but with his headache he's having a hard time remembering.

He saw her in the kitchen preparing breakfast. He puts his arm around her, hugging her from behind. He placed a kiss on her neck as he buried his face on her hair.

"Good Morning." She greeted. "How are you feeling?"

Percy groaned. "Feels like shit. What happened last night?" He asks as he turns her around to face him.

"You mean you don't remember?" She raised an eyebrow at him.

Percy shook his head.

She smirked as she trailed her finger on his bare chest. He felt him shudder by the touch.

But before she can say anything, Thalia enters the kitchen and she stops when she saw the position of the two.

Then suddenly Percy remembers what happened last night upon seeing Thalia.

"What is she doing here?" He asked Annabeth as he pulls back from her.

"Last night she came home with me because she's supposed to talk to Nico. But when we got home you guys were so drunk."

"Oh." He blushes a deep shade of red. "Sorry, he insisted that we drink so that he can forget."

Annabeth only smiled.

"Where is he?" He asked as he looks at Thalia.

"He's still sleeping in the room." Thalia walked to the table and sits on the chair.

"I'm sorry." She blurted out.

"You got nothing to apologize for. I've no right to interfere but I just want you to know that my cousin loves you so much."

"I know and I love him too."

Percy was taken aback from her answer. Last night Nico told him that Thalia never once said that she loves him.

Seeing the confused look on his face, "Annabeth can tell you the whole story if you want to know."

"Oh."

Thalia smiled timidly at him. "I screwed up but I want you to know that I never meant to hurt him. I love him and I will do everything I can to fix this."

Percy smiled at her. "Thank you. You don't know how relieved I am to hear that from you. Nico loves you so much Thalia and it hurts me so much to see him like that last night."

"I know and I'm sorry."

"Just talk to him."

Just then they heard something crashed on the guest room followed by string of curses.

"I guess his awake now." Thalia nervously smiled.

"Go." Percy smiled at her. "Don't worry that guy loves you, just say the words and everything will be alright."

With one more look at the couple, Thalia smiled at them before turning her back to go get her man back.

Annabeth then looked at Percy. "You okay?"

"I think so."

She raised an eyebrow at him.

"Fine, I need something for my headache."

She chuckled. "Aww poor baby."

He rolled his eyes. "Can you please go get me one?"

She snorted. "Go get it yourself."

"Aww come on."

"Didn't I tell you that I hate it when you drink?" She's teasing him but Percy can't seem to take a hint.

"I'm sorry."

She shook her head, turning her back on him to continue preparing their breakfast.

He hugs her from behind. "I'm sorry. It won't happen again. It was just an emergency thing."

She snorted. "Yeah right."

"I promise."

She can't hold it anymore and she burst out laughing stepping away from him.

"What?" He asked confusedly.

"I'm just messing with you." She admitted laughing.

Percy narrowed his eyes on her. "You little witch. You're lucky I have a headache."

She just stuck her tongue out at him. Percy then smiled as he steps closer to her hugging her again.

Annabeth hugs him back resting her head on his chest before giving it a kiss.

"I love you." She heard him say.

She looks at him and smiled at him. "I love you more."

"Ha that's not possible because I love you more."

"Nah uh, I love you more. Deal with it."

Percy tightens his hold on her. "I love you. I love you. I love you."

She smiled sweetly at him before finally giving him a kiss.

"Do you think they'll be alright?" He asks as he rests his forehead on hers.

"I believe so."

They stayed that way for a while just looking at each other.

"Something is burning." Percy then stated.

"Oh my God!"

Done! I hope you guys enjoyed it. I was not sure of this chapter. I think it was a bit uncoordinated. I hope you guys enjoyed it anyway. It's just that different ideas came to my mind every minute and I have a hard time writing it.
