Why'd I have to turn it on? Tony thought. The Mandarin was now just another thing to worry about. It has only been a couple months since the Avengers had defeated the aliens in Manhattan and Tony was still trying to get over it. It didn't make matters better when he turns on the TV to see a terrorist threat either. The only thing that kept him at bay at that moment was the sound of the front door opening.
Pepper! He thought. It was his favorite time of day when she came home at night from Stark Industries. Sometimes he would go with her, but he always distracted her because he couldn't stop cuddling her, so sometimes it was better that he stayed home.
Tony heard her walking upstairs above his workshop. It sounded like she was going near the kitchen so he started up the stairs. The first thing he saw was Pepper drying her hands by the sink. He quietly made his way towards her walking around the island in the middle of the kitchen. 3 feet…2 feet… when Tony was only half a foot behind her, he leaned forward and gently bit her neck, making Pepper tense up but only for a moment.
"You can't just say hi like normal people?" Pepper said without turning around. Tony lightly grazed his teeth across her skin before nuzzling right where her shoulder met her neck.
"Nuh-uh." Tony mumbled against her skin, literally breathing down her neck. He felt her slightly shiver making him smirk. "How was your day?" he asked as he wrapped his arms around her from behind to pull her closer.
"Mmm…" was her only response. Tony tilted his head to see her eyes closed as she relaxed against him. He resumed gently biting Pepper up and down her shoulders and neck. Her hand found his that was lightly gripping her side as he tightened his arms around her. Their fingers intertwined together as Tony softly moaned against Pepper.
"I missed you." He mumbled into her neck. Pepper untangled herself from his grasp so she could turn to press her forehead against his. He looked into her blue eyes that he loved so much.
"I missed you too." she said, almost a whisper. He smiled contently and leaned in close to press his lips against hers. All tension seemed to melt away from Pepper as they kissed in the middle of the kitchen. Tony let his hands slide down her arms to where he wrapped his arms protectively around her waist. He pulled his hips against hers.
~X~
Pepper sighed into her kiss with Tony as he pulled himself against her. It had been a long day, not to mention the reports of the terrorist. She would talk to him about it later though, because right now just being her pulled close against Tony felt good after today.
She did eventually pull away making Tony make a small complaining noise. He frowned at her.
"Calm down, you'll have plenty opportunities." Pepper said while rolling her eyes. "Did you watch the news this evening?" She said hesitantly. Pepper watched as Tony's face fell… Obviously he had.
"Yeah… That's just what I need is some crazy jackpot terrorist a couple months after New York." Tony said sarcastically. "It's probably still on some channel." He said taking Pepper's hand and leading her to the couch. The fireplace was already on, the fire crackling and popping. The golden light reflected onto the gleaming floors.
Tony collapsed on the couch and pulled Pepper on top of him, making her quietly shriek as he pulled her down.
"I swear, Tony… Someday-" Tony didn't let her finish though, before briefly kissing her to stop her mid-sentence. Afterwards, she rolled her eyes. He smiled up at her from beneath Pepper with his brown eyes that seemed to glisten even when there's no light. She propped herself up by leaning her forearms on his chest as he draped his arms over her back, pushing her into him once again.
"You're light, Pepper Potts." Tony said, rubbing her back. She smiled and reached her hand to his hair to run her fingers through it. He closed his eyes and let her as he tightened his grip around her.
"Mmm… Weren't we going to see if they had more stuff about the Mandarin?" Pepper said, remembering why Tony had pulled her down on top of him in the first place.
"Mmm… Maybe…" he softly mumbled, but neither of them bothered to reach over for the remote. Suddenly, Tony shifted underneath Pepper and sat up, taking her with him so she was straddling him. She was almost a head taller than him in this way so he looked up at her with the same deep brown eyes. She leaned down to press her forehead against hers.
"What did you do all day?" Pepper asked him. His eyebrows came together as he seemed to recall what he did.
"Well… I worked on a suit." He said. Tony thought about it for a while before Pepper broke the silence.
"And I'm guessing that's what you did alllll day?" she said. He knew him all too well. Lately he had been getting sucked up in his work down in the garage.
"Well… yeah…" Tony said.
"Tony…"
"Hey I developed this thing where they can just come to me automatically with the sensors in my arm, it's really-"
"You injected yourself with sensors?" Peppers asked, eyes wide. Tony tried to hide a smile… not funny.
"Pep, you need to stop worrying so much." Tony complained. Pepper draped her arms over his shoulders and pressed her forehead to his. Tony traced his hands up her legs to rest at her hips as he looked up at her. She shook her head and smiled at him.
"What?" he asked.
"Nothing." she simply answered. Tony was about to go into a long rant about how when people say nothing, it usually means there is something, but Pepper already had pressed her mouth against his before he could. He gripped her hips even more tightly and she began to play with the hair at the nape of his neck. Tony pushed further into the kiss, and it wasn't long before he started gently grinding against her. Tony was lost in his thoughts of Pepper and only Pepper until there was a nagging buzzing noise coming from the kitchen.
Tony groaned and pulled away as they both turned towards where Pepper's phone was buzzing on the counters. She sighed and got up off of Tony and slid off the couch.
"Nooooo…" Tony protested, going after her.
"I need to make sure this isn't important." Pepper said while walking towards the kitchen. Tony ran up behind her and put an arm around her to stop her though. He bit the back of the collar of her shirt and pulled it backwards.
"Whaaaat?" Pepper complained as he slowly began tugging her backwards. "Where are you taking me?"
"The bedroom, where else?" Tony said although it came out muffled since he still was tugging her by her shirt. He wasn't waiting any longer now. She didn't refuse though, Pepper let Tony pull her along without protest.
