Inside the dark, messy room of Akemi Homura, the creature's words did not register in Homura's mind so easily as it thought it would have. Magical Boys? Was there such a thing? It sounded like nonsense to her. It sounded like something the Incubators cooked up to distract and mess with her. This was too sudden and unbelievable to be true. But still, her own Magical powers would be called the same thing by a normal person. But once more, Homura never could trust Kyubey after knowing his true intentions, much less anything that looked even remotely like him.
Homura clenched the gun her hand and lowered it. She then snagged the cat-like creature by its small neck and pinned it on the wall with brute force. Sounds of choking could be heard from Sanbey as Homura tightened her grip and jammed her gun forcibly into the side of its head, "I suggest you get out now, otherwise, I would have to erase you – multiple times if needed – to make sure you don't get in my way," her words were cold as the expression on her face as she hovered a finger over the trigger.
Sanbey's pleas came out as mere gibberish as Homura tightened her grip again and prevented the thing from even thinking straight. But her thoughts earlier in the park of needing help came back. In her head, she remembered on how the impulsiveness of her previous actions had doomed certain timelines and being stubborn at times also just made it worse. But at times, it also helped her. Either way, Homura still let her grip on Sanbey go as she decided to hear what it at least had to say before she would eventually fill the thing with lead until it stopped moving.
Sanbey landed on the file-covered ground with a thud and panted for air. The small thing shook like a cat and surprisingly, gagged as if it was one. Kyubey was known for not feeling any pain nor having emotions, but this one was the direct opposite. Although it could be a trick as Homura thought to herself.
"Jeez... You're the first person I meet in a long time... and the first thing you do is choke me. You must have a lot of friends," Sanbey sarcastically quipped and looked at Homura who was now standing with arms crossed. She had holstered her pistol in her pocket and her eyes were stabbing into him like a pair of sharp daggers.
"Speak what you have to say. Now," she demanded, her patience wearing thin quickly. The mere sight of anything Kyubey-like made all those un-welcomed memories of being manipulated by the furry creature come back to her mind.
"Fine, fine. Can I have at least have some food first?" Sanbey's request made Homura reach for her firearm, making it cut the antics and get straight to the point, "Alright, alright. Fine. I'm not here to grant a wish, or make you a Magical Girl; I can tell that already happened, Sherlock," Sanbey said in a tired tone and hopped onto her computer desk, Homura still aiming her firearm at it, "When I saw you at the park earlier, you looked like you needed a hand, so I followed you. I can help, if that's what you want. I can leave right now, actually. I was always best at running anyway," Sanbey bitterly muttered that last one.
Hesitantly, Homura leveled her firearm and holstered it in her sleepwear's pocket again, "Continue," she said, crossing her arms and tilting her head, "What are you? Why do you like Kyubey and how are you related to him? I demand you to answer all of these questions. Otherwise, get out. I have no intention of working with something that's hiding secrets from me. Understood?"
Sanbey nodded and lied down on the table, "Alright. Again, my name is Sanbey. Unlike some other contractor you all know and seem to hate, I don't make Magical Girls. I make Magical Boys. Or Puerum Magi, if you want to talk fancy," he waved a paw to emphasize his point, "I'm an... Well, artificial Incubator if you believe me. I've been sorta running around from place to place. I don't really know where I came from, really, you have to believe me, and, yeah...You following me, girl? You don't look like you believe me and that gun in your pocket is really making me feel really uncomfortable."
The Puella Magi narrowed her eyes on Sanbey with suspicion as she then took out her pistol and placed back the gun back in its drawer. Closing it, she looked back at Sanbey and said, "So you're saying that you can help me? Hmph... I will not turn away any assistance. But are you sure you are not lying? If you are-"
"I'm not. You can trust me on that," Sanbey swore and made a crossing motion on his chest with his paw, "I promise I will help. But if you want me to give you a group of Puerum Magi, I'd need you to pick a group for me. They will also have to be very unnatural if you want them to believe something li-"
"I know."
"Well then," Sanbey sheepishly laughed, "Any idea on who do we pick and how to we make them agree to this?"
Homura crouched down and reached for the files on the floor. She ran a hand through them, looking for a specific one, before picking up one thick folder and monotonously throwing it at Sanbey. The big file landed next to the creature on the desk with a loud crash and Sanbey poked its nose into it, "I have much information that will be useful for such a thing; I shall not give anything further, nor will I tell how I received such information."
Sanbey's ears flipped up in astonishment and the small creature let out a chuckle. Homura cringed at its childish laugh as it felt unnatural, and disturbing. She could not imagine Kyubey doing the same since it was emotionless to begin with.
"Well then, shall we get to work?" Sanbey asked and opened the file with his paw, revealing pictures of the four boys Homura had met earlier this afternoon.
