I cant even begin to apologize enough for leaving this and many of my stories alone for so long. I graduated high school and life has changed so much for me and no matter how many times I kept trying to get back into writing I couldnt find it in myself to do so and for that I sincerely apologize. For everyone who kept reviewing and kept following the story even though I had left it untouched for so long thank you guys so much. Im mostly sorry for everyone who stayed with the story since the begining, and I hope that youre still willing to read the story to completion. Im going to do my best to update all my stories, but as my first and longest running story I needed to update this story first before trying to touch any of my others. I want to thank everyone for their reviews for taking their time to read this story. I know this chapter is not as long as the others, but I promise Ill continue it very soon and it is near its completion! Do let me know what you think of it! I really hope I dont disappoint :[
-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- To Cody
Normally Cody was cautious when it came to cafeteria food, something probably about the old stereotype that it wasnt always the cleanest of places to get your food from, or maybe it was ever since he had that fright back at the Tipton Hotel when Zack had frightened him into thinking that there was black mold in the food that he was testing out at home; but the thought of that sort of contamination always set him off about cafeterias. In the S.S. Tipton however he always felt pretty secure about their quality, mostly due to the fact that the hotel and boat both were held under tight ropes due to the patronage of their establishment. None the less he was always carefully not to grab any food that he suspected was re-purposed from the day before, always optioning for the more healthy alternatives that would be fresher, however no matter how many times he would advise Woody against the casserole that was clearly made up of the left over pasta and chicken from last night's Italian dinner menu, the hungry brunet paid him little mind simply saying that it probably gave it more flavor and best not to waste any food as he filled his plate with plenty of the dish along with whatever else caught his eye. Cody laughed at Maddie's astonishment at the amount of food Woody piled on his plate, London was unfazed at the sight making sure to order from the staff to assure that her food was made fresh and with the care she always got from the chefs of the kitchen.
"It must be nice always getting to eat from here, their food always looks good!" Maddie stated as they all grabbed their plates and walked away from the line to find a table.
"Well it was the same at the Tipton, other than school we always kind of ate the food we got from the hotel." the blonde nodded remembering that the boys had lived in the hotel since they were about 10 and that the boat wasnt much different luxury wise.
"W'll I a'ree wi-h Ma-ie, 'he foo's aweso-e." the group laughed in slight disgust at Woody as he swallowed the food that filled his mouth as he spoke and proceeded to eat. Cody felt slightly uneasy as London and Maddie started talking about something, he realized Zack still hadnt caught back up with them saying something that he had to run to the bathroom first and although he didnt want to rush his brother the uneasiness he felt in the back of his mind made him wonder if he should go to his room to make sure he was alright. Before the blond got the chance to get up he heard a chime from his phone and saw a text from said brother.
'Something from breakfast did not agree with me. Dont wait for me' Cody let out a sigh and shook his head with an amused grin as he got back to conversation with his friends.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*- To Carey
Carey couldnt remember the last time she had spoken to her ex-husband about her feelings and about their relationship, even when they had been together she wasnt one to divulge into her feelings with Kurt, not that he didnt care but it always seemed like as much as he listened he never understood how she felt about him and his band and his new role as a father; it was one of the reasons she gave up trying to change him and left him to take care of the twins. But as she stood in front of the guest room that Moseby had told her that Kurt was staying in she couldnt help but regret how little the communication had been in their relationship. It didnt take long for the tanned man to answer the door when Carey knocked.
"Carey… Whats wrong, did you want to talk?" looking into the room at the other man the brunette guessed that he had told Kurt about the angry words she had given him.
"I'll go grab some food for us Kurt." giving Carey a quick but sincere smile he headed out of the room to give the two parents privacy to talk.
"Come in." Carey gave an awkward smile as she entered the room and took a seat in the desk chair as Kurt sat at the end of the king bed to face her. "Did you want to talk about something?"
"Oh please Kurt, I wish you would stop acting so goddamn calm and adultish." Kurt chuckled slightly knowing what Carey meant.
"I guess we all mature differently. Im sorry it took me so long Carey." For some reason the apology, as small as it might seem, held a lot meaning for the brunette and she felt herself tear up as all the frustrated emotions she felt toward the man for not stepping up as the father and parent she needed him to be in the past resurfaced. She let out a shaky breath and quietly thanked him.
"I know that its stupid to think, but since finding out about you and Daniel, part of me kept wondering what was wrong...with me. If I did something to turn you off or that I did something that you didnt love me anymore." Tears filled Carey's eyes but she didnt let out a sob until Kurt got down on his knees in front of her and grabbed her hands.
"Carey Im so sorry for not telling you about it, I myself didnt know until I met Daniel. And Carey please please dont think I didnt love you. I loved you so dearly and I wanted to be everything you needed… But I couldnt let go of my dream, and as wrong as it may sound… I knew you were strong enough to take care of the boys without me, as much as you wanted me to step up as a father I was too selfish and I left you alone to raise them… Carey you still mean so much to me today and I love you so much, you were the woman I married, you are the woman who gave me 2 wonderful boys and raised them when I couldnt find it in myself to take on that responsibility. And no Carey, dear god no, you didnt do anything wrong. Me and Daniel, that was a part of myself I buried deep inside and denied for too much of my life. And although Im regret so much hurting you I dont regret all the years I spent with you cause it gave us both the boys, and they mean the world to me and I know how much a part of you they are." Carey had been in tears however she felt a lightness in her chest and a smile spread across her face.
"Those boys have cause me so much trouble… But theyre my whole world…"
"I know Carey.." Through a shaken sigh Carey smiled at Kurt and nodded.
"Thank you Kurt."
"Of course Carey. Now then," Kurt stood up and smiled as he held out his hand to Carey, "I think it's about time the boys get to see their mother and give her a proper hello." Carey nodded and took his hand.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*- To Moseby
"Hey, I'm looking for Mr. Moseby." Moseby turned to find the voice came from a brunet man in his very late 40's. He stood less than a foot taller than the dark male, despite his aged appearance anyone could tell that the man was someone who worked with his hands, his shoulders were wide and strong, his hands were large and calloused from hard labor; the man had short hair, his plaid shirt was rolled up to show very muscular and tanned arms, his belly although not big was noticeable enough to know that the man probably drank quite a few beers after work everyday.
"Yes that would be me."
"Oh." the man was obviously a little surprised, he clearly expected someone different. "Im Bailey's father. Wh're is she?" His voice was deep and rough, his permanently furrowed brows added to the man's intimidation, he was clearly frustrated from the situation, something Moseby could tell when he had spoken to him over he phone.
"Yes about that.. Unexpectedly Bailey seems to have, um, evaded security."
"Exc'se me?! You try'na tell me you lost my da'gth'r? We're on a bo't!"
"We're doing everything we can to try to find her."
"Mr. Moseby sir!" both adults looked over to the larger security man who rushed over to the pair.
"Any updates Kirby?"
"No sir, Im sorry no body has any idea where she is, Ive looked everywhere I can think of."
"Alright, well tell everyone to keep looking and to search the maintenance parts of the ships as well."
"Yess'r." Kurby turned to leave when Moseby urged him to make sure to check on the boys first to make sure they were alright and in safe company.
*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-To Cody
Enjoying the food and company of his friends Cody felt at ease. The time flew by that when he realized that Zack still hadnt come to meet up with them a long measure of time had passed. Slight panic started to rise in the blond, he took out his phone and attempted to call his brother, before completely panicking. He had only heard about 2 rings through the phone when he saw his mother enter the cafeteria with his father, both looking around searching most likely for him and his brother. Cody felt his stomach plummet and his blood run cold, partly as he didnt know what to expect as his mother spotted him and started to walk over, and partly because the one person he wished was with him at that moment hadnt answered the phone and all he could hear was the voicemail of Zack pretending to answer the phone only to laugh and instruct him to leave a message.
"Hey sweetie. Cody Im sorry for being so distant when I came, I just needed time to adjust… Sweetie?" Carey looked with concern at her son as he was frozen with the phone on his ear. "Sweetie, whats wrong?… And where's your brother?"
(Next Scene)
Panic completely filled the teen as he ran to his brothers cabin, even though he was the least athletic something about the possible danger his brother and love might possibly be in gave Cody the adrenaline to run faster than his friends and beat them to the cabin.
"Oh Zack please be ok, please Zack dear god.." Cody tried to open the door to find it locked, he started banging on the door frantically. "Zack! Zack please are you in there?! Open the door!" The rest of his companions came along with his parents.
"Is he not in there?"
"I dont know! Its locked and hes not answering his phone!"
"Maybe hes out looking for us?"
"Then why isnt he answering his phone Woody!" Woody lowered his head and Cody quickly apologized for snapping. "I have a really bad feeling right now."
"Stand aside Cody." Kurt moved in front of the door of the cabin and began kicking the door, Kirby—who had gone to check on Cody to find him running to Zack's cabin—caught up to the group in time to find Kurt bust the door open. Cody rushed inside to find the mess of the cabin.
"Oh no.." Maddie and London gasped as the entered to see the scene of the the bed ripped to shreds and the broken lamp on the floor with small drops of blood stained on the carpet. Cody burst into a combination of rage and tears. "Im going to HURT BAILEY WHEN I FIND HER!" Kirby with shaken hands took out his walkie to contact Moseby about the situation, Carey stood in pure shock as she stared wide eyed at the mess and blood on the floor, Kurt attempted to remain calm as he tried to lead her to take a seat. Cody with barely another word ran out of the cabin after finding the phone on the floor, realizing it must have been Bailey that sent the text to him, angry at himself for not realizing it wasnt Zack that had texted him. How did this happen, how was it that his whole world was shaken and the one person that he loved the most was in danger because of the girl he once thought he loved. How was it that he didnt see this coming, how was it that despite dating the girl for months he didnt see how twisted she was inside. Cody didnt know how or why, but he suddenly remembered a place in the ship that the two of them had snuck away to once, and although he should've informed everyone he rushed down the halls of the ship hoping he was right and that Zack was ok.
