Author's Note:

While I wrote four different stories, I felt my mind bursting, feeling like I was going to turn mad. And that's why, I wanted to remove my stress through a short writing that inspired me.

I hope you guys don't mind reading this while I continue to update and write other stories….

Enough of my blabber,

Enjoy!

Misaki?

The wind howled so loudly, he couldn't move a limb, until…. until he saw her.

She was there…. right there where he'd left her…under the mistletoe…in winter just after her birthday; the Christmas Eve.

The sudden adrenaline rush provided him the energy to run, and he did. Her black hair flying with the wind as she gazed into the dreadful night. Something felt terribly different…. he couldn't place it.

His hand touched her shoulder and she turned, his heart beating wildly as he called her name out,

"Misaki!" she had a hollowness that couldn't have been filled. But except that, she didn't move a muscle on her face showing him that she missed him, or even know him.

"I'm sorry, but who are you?" she asked apologetically. His heart dropped, the wind had quieted down, the entire place being frozen in time.

A desperate urge filled his heart, coursing his veins and closing any sensibility in his mind.

"Misaki…. you don't…. remember me?" his voice broke, he couldn't believe her. Never.

All those days they just enjoyed each other's company, all those days they bantered and he gave her his famous smirk. All those times when they kissed and he felt like the sparks flew; that they had something in them that pulled them closer every time their lips met. All those times when…. he'd be on his breaking point but hold back so he could return and marry her.

A blank stare, that's what he got. She gave him no other expression, he waited,

waited till she broke into hysterical laughs and patted him,

waited till she rolled her eyes and just smacked like she always did.

waited till she jumped on him and kissed him senseless until he lost his mind.

Nothing…she did nothing.

"Misaki!" behind her, came a blonde man like him. He stared into his eyes, unable to speak.

Unable to say the words that seemed to be stuck in his throat. Their eyes met, and he was equally shocked, as him. There was no way he could've been here with her.

The way he held Misaki…. broke his heart that he could no more do the same.

"I never thought I'd see you here." the man smiled slightly, as Misaki expected an introduction.

He nodded, too shocked to move, to speak even a word. There was something in his eyes—face that clearly showed how terribly he lost a game he was absent for.

"Can you please tell me who you are?" she asked irritably, crossing her arms.

His heart shattered into million pieces, he closed his eyes to remove the burning image of that seal on her finger—the sapphire stoned ring on her left ring finger.

"I'm Usui Takumi." he turned, leaving the only sanctuary that ever made him fight through the battle of Trojan.

The End.

Author's Note:

Please don't hate me! I always wanted to write something like this, test if I can really bring the scene out with the descriptions I so desperately wanted to use.

Please do say what you thought of this little thing, I'm sure it must have gotten to you.

Did you suspect it? Or was the ending a surprise? Please do say, reviews and criticism are always welcomed.

Thank you!

Goodbye!

P.S. Don't worry, 'One in a million' is going to be updated soon!
