Chapter 11: Rose
It didn't take long for 7-year-old Belle to realize that things had changed that morning. For a start, she was staying at uncle Harry and aunt Ginny's house while her parents were at St. Mungo's. Her mom had felt pain in her stomach for some time, so dad had to take her to the hospital as soon as possible. Belle could be little, but she knew exactly what was happening: her little sister was going to be born. She was excited to finally have someone to play with, but at the same time she felt a bit sad. Now that she thought about it, she wasn't going to be the only child at home anymore.
"BELLE! What are you doing out there?" she heard her aunt Ginny shout from the kitchen's door to the garden where the little girl was. Belle ran to her.
"I was looking for a present to bring mommy and the baby." she said. Ginny just nodded.
"Time to go see them." Ginny said with a big smile. Belle smiled back, holding the little present tight in her hands.
She walked slowly to the bed where her mom sat holding a small bundle of blankets. She knew the baby was there because she noticed the blankets moving. Her mom looked tired, but extremely happy to see her.
"Hi, princess! did you have a good night with uncle Harry and aunt Ginny?" Hermione asked as she kissed her daughter's head. Belle just nodded, then she handed her mom the present: a single red rose. Heremione's eyes filled with tears.
"It's the only one left from the garden, and the prettiest one. I thought you and the baby would like it." Belle said. Hermione took the flower.
"It's beautiful, sweetheart, especially because you chose the perfect flower to go with your sister's name." Hermione said as she turned the baby to meet her. "Belle, this is Rose." she said. Belle looked at the baby, stunned. Little Rose opened her eyes and looked at her big sister. Belle touched the baby's cheek and she could see something that resembled to a little smile. Belle smiled as well. she leaned forward and kissed her sister's head.
"Hi Rose! I'm your big sister, Belle. And this is for you too." she said showing her sister the little flower she had given her mother.
